"This husband-and-wife-owned newcomer stands out as Florida’s only sake brewery. Haidar Hachem is no stranger to the industry, though. Having left his job as a civil engineer in 2019, he learned the craft as an assistant and head brewer in other local hotspots before opening Shojo Dojo with his wife, Marilyn (Mari) Orozco. There’s an extensive beer-on-tap selection, a variety of sakes, and a playful saketail menu." - Alona Martinez

"Shōjō's Dojo looks and feels a lot like that secret layer you always dreamed of having as a kid—complete with a hidden doorway to a converted warehouse with arcade games, a pool table, and foosball. But because this place is for adults, they’ve also got sake flights, Lebanese beer, and wine. Snacks like wasabi peas and kimchi chips are always available, but they also host a rotating list of pop-ups, including the best (and only) Nicaraguan sushi we’ve ever had. And if you show them your rideshare receipt, they’ll take 10% off your check." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino

It’s the sort of place that brings out your inner child—where you can bond with strangers over your love of dinosaurs, and everyone chimes in with their favorite (this actually happened to us). What an amazing cool hidden gem! This place is set up like you're visiting Tokyo, Japan. From Godzilla to Sailor Moon. You will always be greeted by friendly staff and a range of variety selections of sake and craft beers. I was greeted by the bartender, Estefania, she's very knowledgeable about the beers and sake that they serve. I'll definitely come back again.

I visited this place for the first time and had a great time thanks to my girl ESTEFANIA,SHE IS THE BEST! She helped us with a great selection of drinks, beers, sake! Good music, good vibes, friendly people, everything very clean. I love it!!!

What a cozy little laid back sake bar! Excellent, quality sake. Our bartender was so meticulous in explaining every detail about our sake flight, which I really appreciated. After the flight, she recommended a rose-water-ginger sake cocktail that was divine — fresh and light. The music in the background was great — old school and today’s hip hop. I also adored all the thought and love they poured into the decor details. And there’s an adjacent dive bar with ping pong tables and more great music! This place is a vibe for locals who just want something chill and laid back without the flashy Miami transients know and love. A *real* Miami spot.

My girlfriends and I dropped in on a Thursday night. It was not full at all and extremely welcoming. The owners are adorable! Husband is Lebanese, recently spent 2 month sin Japan and is now the 6th Saki Brewery Master IN THE WORLD! Wife is Nica and also super knowledgeable! Excellent recommendations and knowledge of their selection. I recommend the Saki Old Fashioned!

Google
TL:DR: this place is going to be big Came here completely by accident and I’m in love. The sake selection is fantastic, the prices are reasonable, and the cocktails are great. Atmosphere: I’m a huge nerd and this place is right up my alley. Anime playing in the background, cool decor, and Japan vibes all around. The space is divided into a 2 areas - a lounge style section and a more “bar” type area. Staff: The whole place has a small family owned business type feel. We quickly made friends with our bartender (whose recommendations were super on point), and had a lovely conversation with the owners - a husband and wife team. The brewer (husband) had just won an award in an international sake brewing competition and we got to join in on the “launch party” for his newest creation. He was kind enough to bottle some up for us despite it not officially being released yet. Can’t recommend enough. We’ll definitely be back

Awesome vibes. Owners are very nice and seem to like sharing their knowledge of sake. The house sake is qru. Missed attack peter by a few minutes. :( 😂 Definitely recommending this place.

Google
My partner and I are visiting Miami and randomly stumbled upon Shōjō’s Dojo. What a special place! The co-owners, a husband and wife duo, have cultivated a wonderful community here in Miami. We luckily came in on the same day as a new sake release — and the sake was easily the best we’ve had in a long time. This will definitely be a stop for us when we come back to Miami. Whether you’re new to sake, already like sake, or just want to vibe with some great folks (shout out to Estephania!!!), Shōjō’s Dojo will welcome you in like family. Thank you so much for the hospitality - we are excited to come back soon!

Google
Amazing vibes, service & sake. Try the Agua de Violetta, blew my mind and smelled just like the perfume :) Stefani made us feel at home, had great recs & taught us a lot about sake.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this accidentally and it has been my favorite find ever! Drinks were amazing, staff was amazing. They have new food vendors every day

Yelp
This is the first sake bar in Florida and it's in Miami baby. Its located in Westchester, like 5 minutes from Tropical Park. It's owned and run by a husband and wife team who are both Miami natives. Marylin is the social media/marketing force behind the team and her husband Haidar is the master brewer who also took the time to travel to Japan and become a certified Sake Sommelier. This place offers a variety of high-quality sakes and also beer on tap plus wine and bubbles. The space is huge with an eclectic decor. Each week they invite and food truck or popup vendor serving sushi, yakitori, smash burgers, and pizza. They also have different events/themes every night so make sure to check their IG constantly. Parking is also easy as it's located in a warehouse area so there are plenty of spaces after 4 or 5. This is a cool place to hang out with friends and family or if you want to learn more about sake. Good vibe, good drink selection and a fun place.

Yelp
Shojo's Dojo is quite a hidden gem! Nestled in Kendall, it's a bar lounge that you would not expect to see. The decor is very unique, it's like the owners traveled afar, collected cool souvenirs along the way and decided to decorate this establishment with said souvenirs - I like it! Felt like I was transported into an "I Spy" book. The drinks are refreshing, and are priced very reasonably well. There is quite a lot of space to spread out and hang out. There are board games available and tv to watch in the bar area. In the back there is a pool table and a karaoke machine to sing if desired. My favorite part about this establishment was the $1 cup ramen that was offered on the menu. After having a couple drinks here, the ramen tastes amazing!! Even if it's just cup noodles!! My experience here was unique, I enjoyed it very much. I would definitely come back here to have a couple drinks and eat $1 ramen again

Yelp
Shojo Dojo is an absolute must-visit for sake lovers! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a chill vibe that makes it easy to relax and enjoy the experience. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about their craft, taking the time to explain the different types of sake and how they're made. The sake cocktails are amazing my favorite is El Diablo it's their take on a spicy Paloma 10/10. Whether you're a sake expert or a newbie, this place is perfect for discovering something new. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Shojo Dojo is a a great spot for sake cocktails and more! Came here before dinner with friends to kill some time and it was such a cool spot to do just that. Definitely a hidden gem, you would never expect this spot when parking. When you head inside, it feels like an "I Spy" book, with little trinkets and new things to find with every second glance. The staff was super friendly and helped us navigate the menu, giving us recommendations. I ended up getting the La Toxica which appealed to me because it had melon soda. This one was a bit more on the sweet side and I enjoyed my partner's drink more- Agua de Violeta. This one was a fav of the night! Right next door, aka connected via an open door, was their dive bar- Yokocho. We headed into this spot after hanging a bit so we could hang out in there (a bit more spacious) and even play some pool. We got to meet one of the owners, Haidar, and he was super nice. We got some beer and hung out here for the rest of the night. We did get a little hungry so decided to get Cup of Noodle ramen (which was $1) and they had a cooler with hot water we used to make it. Such a cool spot and definitely recommend!

Alejandro H.

Yelp
The spot for a casual drink! Beers and sake? Why not both! First sake brewery in Florida! All types of beers selection and gotta try their sake! Come with friends and enjoy the arcade games, pool or foosball, air hockey, and more. While you watch your fav sports team play!

Priscilla L.

Yelp
As a lover of Japanese food, I've naturally become a sake fan over time. I've yet to find my favorite, as I feel like I can always be in the mood for any of them haha. When I found out this place was opening up over a year ago now, I was so excited. I thought, "Miami gets to have their first sake brewery AND it's locally owned???" I went opening weekend and enjoyed some sake with friends. Last night, I came back for a second time and was happy to see they had expanded! More sake and beer options were available and it was filled with groups of people enjoying themselves. As any brewery, you have your fair share of board games and tv's playing sports games. I loved the ambiance and the staff was honestly amazing. I will absolutely be trying more of their sake!

Andrew N.

Yelp
Super cool, ambience and really nice staff and patrons, but the sake is incredibly overpriced.

Aurora G.

Yelp
Cool spot! My brother and I have been wanting to try this place out for a while so we came last weekend. The decor is very fun and eclectic. There are two rooms in the bar, each with their own respective vibes. The bartenders are very nice and super attentive. I very much enjoyed the canned beer that they brewed with another brewery as a collab, but I think the price was a teensy bit high. It could also be that I'm just not used to Miami brewery prices. The cocktails weren't my favorite, but they also weren't bad. I would come back here to try a few other things and to have a chill space to hang out and catch up with friends. Apparently the parking can be rough - I wouldn't know because I got there early and there was plenty of parking available. There's a QR code at the entrance that tells you where to go and not get towed. My favorite part? This is silly, but the ladies bathroom had hair ties and a few other necessities that a gal may need if they are out and about for ample amounts of time. As a girly with *very* heavy, long hair in Miami heat, this attention to detail was very much appreciated.

Josette S.

Yelp
Officially my favorite spot here in Miami! Always such good vibes and amazing drinks, not to mention delicious pop-up food vendors. All of their specialty cocktails are a must try. My favorite is the bamboozled! So good! And of course, they have an amazing selection of sake to sip on. Definitely try their house sake! You won't regret it! The service is always on point, with the friendliest of faces to greet you and take your order. Check them out asap! You will thank me! Miami is truly lucky to finally have a sake, beer and wine spot! It's unique and fun! Oh and you'll leave there learning a lot! I love that they also educate you about what you are having. It's great to have a better understanding!

Yelp
Come get a taste of a the Far East in the South West! This place rocks. Had an awesome time out with the guys on a Friday night. Like most guys, we're into beer, but we craving Sake this night. The ambiance was a winner from the moment we stepped in. Think funky chill lounge \ brewery mashup. We started the night with some Japanese snacks and Sake bombs. After that we did some excellent Sake tastings, then Sake Cocktails, and finished it off sharing a 'One-Cup' of Kikuri Perfect Snow - Cloudy Sake. That one was my favorite. The place is very near the Tropical park area. Parking wasn't too bad. There's also a few cool places within walking distance. The owners really are into their craft and they've trained their staff really well. They know their stuff, they're passionate about it and it shows. We'll be back.

Alex V.

Yelp
Awesome service, amazing ambiance, great sake, fantastic owners. Vast sake selection!

Javier P.

Yelp
Not only does this place have an awesome selection of craft beer and sake but they are the only sake brewery in the entire state. The customer service is amazing and they are very knowledgeable and happy to answer questions

Yelp
Stepping into Shōjō's Dojo feels like embarking on an intoxicating journey across the world - a place where Japanese tradition gracefully mingles with the vibrant essences of Nicaraguan, Lebanese, and unmistakably Miami vibes. From its inception, Shōjō Beer Co., crafted by the brilliant Miami natives Haidar and Mari, sets the scene for an extraordinary experience. The story of how it transitioned from a conceptual brewery to the first-ever sake brewery in Florida, under the roof of Shōjō's Dojo, is a testament to their innovation and passion. One can easily get lost in the sophisticated yet approachable selections of their Sommelier-curated wine and sake lists. The star of my evening was the Homemade Sake Slushees - a refreshing twist I didn't know I needed. It's not just about drinks here. It's about friendship and a love for their craft that you can immediately see when speaking with Haidar and Mari. With a menu influenced by renowned Miami chefs, every bite is a testament to local creativity and flair. Shōjō's Dojo isn't just another establishment; it's a celebration of culture, taste, and Miami's spirit. Here's a toast to Haidar, Mari, and their team for making Miami sparkle brighter. Cheers!

Yelp
Since we both share a love for anime, discovering this cozy brewery felt like finding a hidden gem. Although smaller compared to others, its laid-back atmosphere and scenic surroundings make it the perfect hangout spot. What truly sets it apart are the fantastic selection of board games--Uno, dominoes, Monopoly, Jenga, and more--that guarantee endless entertainment. The drinks surpassed expectations; their recommendation for a light beer was spot on. The service was exceptional; the staff not only assisted with drink choices but also created a welcoming environment. While we didn't sample the food this time, we're already planning our return visit. It's ideal for groups, offering both games and conversation starters, including some daring challenges. Trust me, don't hesitate to check it out; you won't regret it!

Yelp
Went here with my family and friends, last month to celebrate my birthday. Miami's first sake brewery. Offers much more than just Sake. We all had a blast. Beers on tap, also cans and bottles available. Wines by the glass or bottle ,plus flights. And of course the staple , Sake, 15 different sakes are available ,plus sake cocktails. I had the sake whiskey sour, and the sake old fashioned. Both delicious. And of course we all had sake bombs. Thank you to the owners, Haidar Hachem (head brewer) and Marilyn Orozco, for being great hosts and thank you for having a sake bomb with us. As their website states, it's where the Japanese aesthetic meets Nicaraguan, Lebanese, and the super-Miami culture all under one roof . Separated by two rooms, one is a Japanese decorated styled room with a bar ,tables and chairs, a chill atmosphere. The other room, I call the party room, looks more like my unfinished basement, with a bar, pool table, and it is where the food is set up. They have different food vendors , thru out the week, with food pairing events also. Hungry Yokai was the food kitchen for us. Served three Japanese dishes. We had all three, and all were delicious. A must stop for something different, and a guaranteed fun time , with great drinks and awesome food.

Yelp
I love to see good people building great things!! What a fun, easy, chill vibe. Absolutely delicious, ice cold, beer. The orange sale slushie?! **chef's kiss** the music? Banging. The vibe?! Impeccable.

Yelp
This place just opened in my neighborhood on Saturday so of course we were there to check it out on Sunday. They're a sake and beer brewery and I've recently developed a taste for sake and my wife loves beer so it's a place literally made for us! Haidar and Marilyn (the owners/brewers) were lovely; friendly and willing to tell us all about their vision and crafts, obviously passionate about their new venture. Haidar has an extensive history in brewing in the area (they're both Miami natives) and his knowledge is clearly being put to good use considering the quality of their product. I had their house-brewed sake (unpasteurized and undiluted), which was moderate and fragrant and delicious! (I liked it so much I had 4 glasses!) I can't wait for their next offerings, which I'm told will include drier table sakes. My wife had one of their rice-brewed lagers and she loved it. (I'm a little fuzzy on the beer details as I was too busy enjoying my sake. Ha!) The bar bites were good, I tried the cheese empanada and wasabi popcorn and my wife had the prepackaged spicy tuna onigiri and the egg sando along with the veggie stir-fry empanada. The highlights were definitely the empanadas with the chili sauce (so good we brought it home). The space is still a little rough around the edges. The backless metal stools aren't the most comfortable and the folding chairs weren't much better. Considering it's a cozy space, I think the seating needs to be a bit upgraded. There was also no cold still water to be had (just sparkling) and no ice. But those minor details were not a deal-breaker and I'm sure will be worked out over time. The takeaway here is the excellent booze and the stellar vibe. We need to support good people building amazing inclusive spaces in our community! So branch out, try something new, and visit Shōjō's! We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Me and and my partners found this location on Yelp! We were looking for a place to chill and have a drink. And we hit the spot! It's in a funky location but I think that makes it even better! They had so many options to choose from which was awesome because we were able to try different things , we got some beers 10/10 , sake b*mbs 10/10 even sake flight which was AMAZING the owners were super nice and very knowledgeable on sake which was cool because there aren't many places that will offer the variety of sake let alone the knowledge. Now - the place is soooo creative! And the bathroom BYEE I've never seen people put so much thought into the necessities of a bar bathroom! LOVED IT DEF RECOMMENDED

Salam H.

Yelp
second year, we host our annual christmas party at sho jo. i can only say thank you for your hospitality and for being so attentive more than 70 people present and they all had only great things to say about your service. see you next year.

Samantha T.

Yelp
The way I absolutely adore this hole in the wall!!!!! I have been twice already with my best friends because it really is such a vibe. You can have a drink and play board/card games with your friends in the back. This place is so unique due to all the beautiful decor if you are an anime lover and even if you're not I think it still looks really great. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the bartender who was really nice and great and gave us all the info we needed. I will say that the one detail I loved was how in the bathroom there were a bunch of toiletries such as scrunchies, deodorant, perfume, condoms haha. I will definitely be a regular here :-)

Haidar H.

Yelp
This place. Is. The. Bomb. Why aren't y'all there right now? Chef Carla killed it on the food. Hungry Yokais sauce is amazing. The Miami Cookies are banging and that onigiri is top notch. What an absolutely beautiful and chillin vibe as well. I feel like I'm in an alley way with the string and neon lights. Absolutely phenomenal. And their sake selection... WHAT?! Absolutely amazing! Don't forget to try that Shōjō Beer Co beer.

Shavannie B.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I decided to try this place for a chill date night and we were fully satisfied. A bottle of sake, a fresh hot pizza, and the eclectic vibe made the night perfect. We enjoyed the music and the welcoming ambiance. I can't say enough how good the pizza was. Shout out to Flyin Hyppo pizza for coming through fresh, hot and crazy delicious. The Lucifer's kiss was CHEF's kiss!

Mauricio C.

Yelp
Awesome little spot - learned quite a bit about sake...great vibe. Music was also great!
