Absolutely loved our experience here. The happy hour was fantastic! Tons of delicious options. From small bites to full plates, there was something for everyone, and the drink selection was just as impressive. Big shout out to Urso, our server, who was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better.

Always consistent and a family favorite! My husband and I had our first date here over 6 years ago! We come here at least 1x a month! Highly recommend. Servers are great and food is so delicious. Get one of the sushi platters!!!

Just moved to Miami and decided to try this spot out, everything was perfect! The food came very quickly and was delicious. I am a big time sushi girl and based off of my meal it was a 10/10. Carlos, my waiter was amazing and super sweet. He recommended the blue crab maki (sushi) and it was delicious. Be sure to stop by and ask for Carlos!

My teenagers and I absolutely love this restaurant. The food is delicious, fresh, and consistent. Uros is a sweetheart and always takes care of us. The staff is lovely and the atmosphere on the patio is equally pleasant as inside. You must try their orange chicken! It’s the best in Miami. We are grateful for the memories we make here and hope to be coming here for many years to come. Cheers!

Loved the outdoor seating out back. Service was excellent and my meal (orange chicken) was sooooo tasty. Will definitely share with my friends, family and colleagues.

The food is amazing. Get the Thailand Moscow Mule! The Blue crab roll, the ebi and hamachi sashimi are out of this world! Highly recommend!

Google
The food was out of this world good! I think this is my new favorite restaurant in Miami! Everything we tried was delicious but my favorite was the Mushroom buns and Japanese Eggplant. And the green tea Crème’ Brûlée was amazing! Great service, Vivi was our server and she was super sweet. I highly recommend this place.

Google
This is one of our favorites spot in Miami. We love the sushi counter. Rony & Diego are amazing. Guiding you on what to order and how to order. Quality of food is superb 👌 We were so enjoying the food that realized at the end we had not taken any pictures. This is the picture of our dessert (Mochis)

Yelp
Very nice neighborhood sushi restaurant Ran into it just by chance on rainy miami afternoon. Got there at happy hour. Sushi is nice fresh made there in front of you., delicious!!. Very nice variety of sushi/asian fusion with a tropical zest. Service was super cordial and the staff was very friendly and helpful Prices are reasonable and if you go at happy hour, they're a bargain! Highly recommended !

Yelp
This is the third time I've been here. The last two times were a while back, but I remember enjoying them so I was excited to try this place again! Unfortunately I have mixed feelings on this third visit. First the positive....Location is great, inside of the restaurant is really pretty. Loved the look and ambiance. The server was very nice although the service was slow. The menu looked exciting; a good amount of items. Everyone in my party found something. Now for the not so great... the items all came out at random times. I know this is a new thing for restaurants to serve as items come out, but I don't love it. I ordered the ahi tuna poke for my app. Was very good. No complaints with this dish. Others for soups and were very happy. For my main course I had the Java steak. The steak was flavorful and cooked well. However the cilantro rice was not great, the fried onions were not seasoned and looked unappealing. There was a garnish of avocado and tomato but it didn't go well with the steak. The rest of my party had mixed reviews as well. Crab fried rice was not good, but sushi was great! I'm not sure I would come back unless I was just wanting sushi. A little disappointed.

Yelp
Came here for Valentine's Day and the food was so so good, we end up ordering it regularly in our favorite takeout rotation. I absolutely love their orange chicken. One of the best I've had. The sauce is so light yet packed with tangy flavor. The chicken is perfectly crunchy with generous full chunks of white meat. The chicken to breading ratio is perfect. Have yet to find a place I like more for orange chicken. Also a must is the goyzas. The service was great and the atmosphere was lovely for our date. Saw many couples there.

Yelp
When World Resources was on Lincoln Road, the food and service was predictably 5/5 stars. In the 11+ years since relocating to Buena Vista, there have been modifications to the staff and menu, but the food and service remains 5/5. On the eve of Art Basel 2023, I brought family and friends for dinner. A scrutinizing bunch that has dined in some of the best kitchens of NY and top spots in the US and around the globe. And, composed of home chefs with both skills and palates for seasoning and preparation. They know food and expect proper service. On arrival our reservation for 5 was instantly honored. And, with equal speed, the owner, Yoko, took drink and appetizer orders. After blinking twice, our orders appeared. Tom Yum soups, salads, gyoza, Miso, grilled shishito peppers, eda mame, crunchy sushi Japanese eggplant. All disappearing with nods of approval accompanied by happy eating sounds. FYI - the ginger dressing for the salad should be bottled for mass consumption. AND, If you haven't tried Shokudo's crunchy sushi, it's a treat to rival potato chips and pistachios - if you're not dining alone, ask for two orders - you cannot eat just one! Likewise, the soups disappeared, only to be replaced by repeat orders! Being a Tuesday, we took advantage of the $10 roll specials. These were not the less expensive rolls, but the top 10 favorites - Dragon, Spicy Tuna, Samurai, Hamachi Jalapeño, etc etc. Deep steaming bowls of Ramen, brightly garnished with egg, mushroom, radish, nori, were slurped into oblivion. The broth rendered and strained to a silky finish and partnered with noodles of perfect toothy texture. Desserts polished a perfect meal. We ordered the Lady M layered crepe cakes and were treated to Chef Joe's delicious baked green tea crumbles. Start to finish, this exacting bunch was impressed. And, Yoko was cordial and professional, checking on every table while taking orders and expediting delivery. Shokudo is the standard for quality dining in Miami. Finally, the quality to cost ratio is beyond 5 stars. The final bill being so reasonable, that the unanimous departing comment getting into the car was "when are we coming back?!"

Yelp
This place is in a quiet part of Design District, but it's on a main street and impossible to miss. I stumbled upon this spot on a rainy day and it was honestly one of the best Thai/Japanese meals I've had in a really really long time. The service was great, everything was efficient and the food came out fairly quickly. I was craving Ramen as well as some fried rice with red curry and wowww. 10/10 on ALL the food. The ramen, out of the world!! The flavor was amazing, the broth, the ground chicken, delicious. And the red curry with the fried rice was also perfect. Fulfilled all my cravings. The sushi was a little plain, but I had picked a very simple tuna sushi, so that's on me. Other than that, It was soul comforting food. I can't wait to come back and try some different sushi and the other ramens.

Yelp
Decent happy hour but not really much of a value. We had a large group and just ordered a bunch of items. Had a bite or two of a lot of different items and they were mostly pretty tasty. Just not that cheap per dish. The restaurant was pretty empty for most of the evening so that was kind of a red flag but we had a good time. Chocold Fashioned: Skip It wasn't bad but it's not really a combination that is worth having. It's a more funky and decadent old fashioned from the chocolate and coffee but nothing that actually improves the drink. Food: 7/10 Service: 7/10 Atmosphere: 6/10 Value: 5/10

Yelp
We've been dinning here since they started 12 years ago. Still today they keep the same quality, consistency and great service. Ask for Carlos or Uros they will make sure you get the best experience.

Yelp
Good sushi place! The servers are always nice, haven't had a bad experience. But the reason I like this place is because they have simple sushi. I have been on a hunt to find a classic sushi restaurant in Miami, one that isn't over the top with unnecessary truffle oil or deep fried with cream cheese. So I was very happy when I came here the first time and was able to order a sushi sashimi platter. The fish was tasty and again, I appreciate their simpler options. They also have a lot of cooked items that are also good.
google avatar

Eric S.

Yelp
One of the best hidden gems in Miami! It's a bit off the beaten path, so there's not so many people and crowds. The food is out of this world.

Yelp
I tried Shokudo happy hour this week and really enjoyed it. Hey offer a variety of rolls, bites, cocktails wine & beer. My friend and I tried the spicy marg and enjoyed how refreshing it was! We ordered spicy tuna roll, salmon roll, jalapeño popper roll, shishito peppers.. all were delicious, we did shed some tears with the jalapeño pepper roll, so beware! The service was a little slow, but regardless we had a great time and look forward to visiting again soon. The cocktails look interesting and would like to try out other ones.

Yelp
This place doesn't get enough credit! The food is delicious and the staff is always so welcoming. I always wonder why it's not busier but I'm selfishly glad that I can always get a reservation. Definitely save room for dessert!

Yelp
Pretty good! The poke salad was definitely the standout! The pad Thai was definitely disappointing (dry chicken) but everything else was tasty! Got a reservation on the day of (Saturday night). I would come back for the poke salad.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious Japanese fusion restaurant!! This is a really intimate quiet spot perfect for a date night. Located in design district, the food here is no fuss and amazing quality. I tried a bunch of things off their menu and everything was amazing. We started with the hamachi sushi which was super fresh!! We also got the spicy tuna roll which I thought wasn't the best, the tempura overpowered the tuna. The spring rolls which were basic, the pork buns which were not the best, it's thin pork like the one you get in ramen and I prefer a thicker pork belly especially for the price. I got a spicy margarita which was not spicy at all so i got the lychee martini type drink as my second one. Highly recommend although not strong on alcohol at allll. For entrees we tried the shrimp curry, steak and rice, orange chicken and crab fried rice. The curry was PHENOMENAL. Best thing we tried and it was plentiful I had leftovers for like 4 meals. The churrasco was also amazing, the steak had a great sear and the rice was perfectly cooked. I also thought it was ana amazing portion for the price. The crab fried rice is a must get!! The crab flavor is really prominent and the portion size is also big and enough to share. I would skip the orange chicken, it was more acidic than sweet and not really special at all in the batter or the flavor. We ended the meal with the crepe cake which rolled my eyes into Jupiter of how good it was and the crumble which was INSANE!! The sweet mango and tarte blueberries paired so well with the matcha crumble and the matcha was prominent but not overly bitter. I have no complaints about this spot the meal came out to $450 which was pricey but not bad compared to other restaurants in the area. The decor is super calming, really amazing ceilings and I would totally be back again!

Yelp
Cute little dinner place. Service was great. Our server knew his stuff and I liked his suggestions. I had the lychee dreams, it was ok but I would have preferred a regular lychee martini without all the extra stuff. The gyozas were pan seared and very tasty The chicken pad Thai was really delicious. Lots of options on the menu to choose from that I look forward to trying. They also have a happy hour with light bites and drinks

Yelp
This restaurant has become a second home for me! The food and staff are amazing. It's the perfect place to grab a nice cocktail or complete meal after a long day at work. Thank you Vivi, Carlos, and the entire Shokudo team for delivering an incredible experience consistently.

Yelp
Food was great. The service was excellent. The Ambiance was perfect. We've been here twice this week. Thank you. Carlos and Uros.

Yelp
Ordered for delivery and we really enjoyed our meal. We had 3 rolls and the and the Chinese BBQ Pork, Bok Choy, Hong Kong Garlic Noodles (Char Siu) Rolls 1. New York Spicy Tuna = 5/5 2. Yuba Roll = 3/5 3. Jalapeño Hamachi = 3/5 Noodles 1. Chinese BBQ Pork, Bok Choy, Hong Kong Garlic Noodles = 5/5 The noddles was outstanding it's big enough to share or to have as a meal. We enjoyed our meal and hope to stop by in person in the future.

Yelp
I try to stay away from leaving bad reviews, as I'd rather say nothing than negative things... unfortunately, Shokudo disappointed, big time. I'd start off by saying the place is very cute, cosy, even romantic. I was a little surprised to see that such a highly rated place on Yelp was almost completely empty on a Thursday evening. The service was also great: both the hostess and the server were attentive and prompt. 5 stars for that. The food was probably the worst Japanese (or A La Japanese) I have ever had. We ordered the following (and I will rate food from bad to worst): Salmon tartare - tasted just ok, but presentation was awful, looked like someone threw up salmon and made a ball out of it. Spicy salmon roll - how can you mess it up?? It's a safe bet in any Japanese restaurant. The rice was over-seasoned with rice vinegar, to the point it tasted sour. Ume shiso roll - this one wins the worst roll ever award. I mean it was hard to eat, really. There was an overwhelming sour taste, to which the server replied "its meant to be sour, it's Japanese plum". Interesting, but why would you put plum in a roll? My bud tastes are very promiscuous, but this was just impossible to eat. We left the place hungry and went next door to finish our dinner. Perhaps, their cooked entrees are better but we were not willing to take a chance, when 3 out of 3 items we ordered were awful.

Yelp
I love the quieter location of Shokudo as well as its intimate outdoor seating area - especially on a cooler Miami night. The ambience on our corner booth was nice enough, and in all honesty I was a bit engrossed in conversations with friends to really soak up the rest. Somehow the fake candle stood out as weird to me tonight. Generally, I'm not a fan of these despite understanding they're safer. Food was good. I particularly enjoyed the Shokudo roll (truffle eel? Yes pls) and the crispy tuna appetizer. I also thought the curry was quite nice as well as hearty portioned. An unexpected surprise was the flavor of the eggplant starter a friend ordered as well. I really didn't have too many gripes on the food. I also hear the happy hour is where this place shines (we came later for dinner). Now for the challenging part this visit: Minus two stars for the bathroom and kitchen cleanliness right off the bat. The bathrooms were disgusting. "Liquids" all over the floor for one working coed bathroom. No toilet paper. I was joking with a guy friend the bushes might be a safer bet, while my gal friends didn't even want to go in. The girl who came out of the bathroom before me had a look of horror on her face. I felt bad. I think there was another bathroom, but it was out of service. The visible parts of the kitchen didn't look much better. As I was mid meal, I didn't try to over analyze this to psych myself out further. The waiter was perfectly friendly, but he barely came around. We had to flag him down for a water refill and some extra napkins. On the plus side he did bring us new plates for a course unprompted and swapped out a wrong dish in error without much fuss. On a negative there was a missed dish that didn't come out and closed the conversation on putting it in once more as the kitchen was closed. It would have been nice to have gotten a kitchen closing warning, which we did not get. When we originally ordered they were also out of Shishito peppers. They have a free parking lot in the back. A nice perk which came in handy tonight and seemingly overlooked by the other patrons, since we only noticed one other car in the lot. At the end of the meal, they did not fret to split the check three ways. Friends commented that they were surprised the affordability of the meal. We didn't order any added specialty drinks tonight. If we could do half stars, I'd say this was a 2.5... hard call whether to out a 2 or a three. If I had to be dead honest this was a two star visit. If friends invited me again, I'd surely give it a second shot with the intent to prepare my bladder accordingly and in hopes the kitchen and bathroom cleanliness was off as a rare oddity tonight :/ Management: you have some good dishes and a decent concept here, but the cleanliness needs a lot of work!

Yelp
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME COMING HERE!!!!!!!!!! 2nd review of the night: OMG!!! Yoko the owner is the worst!!!!! That lady was literally screaming at us and saying that it is not her fault that the food on her restaurant takes so long to come out. She has no manners at all !!!!!! She was uneducated, rude, vulgar, inappropriate, and specially disrespectful!!!! We were waiting for 1 H and 20 min to get the appetizers, we got only 2, they forgot about the 3rd one. It took them around 20 more minutes to bring it. We could not take this much longer and we asked for the check to leave and there came Yoko, Screaming at us, literally screaming !!!!! Apparently her restaurant at full capacity can't function LOL. It is a shame because the food here is good, but apparently if they have more than 1 table (It was only us last time we were there) they don't function wells, the service it is horrible, and owner OMG THE OWNER. Her costumers skills are the worst I have ever experience in my whole live..... I repeat!!!!! DO KOT COME here!!!!!! 1st review of the evening: I loved this place last time I was here. Today. We have been seating for almost 1H and we haven't get anything from our order yet :-( The waiter when he was taking out order he walked away without talking my husbands order , we had to call him back because he walked very fast and we almost couldn't reach him..... the two stars are because the food here is good and I know. Otherwise I will give them 0 stars

Yelp
Best Asian restaurant in Buena Vista ! Awesome food ,drinks and incredible service. Carlos is a great bartender and server with incredible service! A great neighborhood place to go, relax and have a beautiful time.

Yelp
great place. food is excellent. Viviana is a super server. small place where you can talk and service is attentive and not hurried. one of my faves.

Yelp
I like this place, notice I didn't say I loved this place. I think their food has gotten more expensive and the portions have gotten smaller. Overall I can say I don't mind but I'm less likely to come here regularly now because of it. Service is good and one thing I love is the ambiance. I love the patio outback.
google avatar

Yelp
Well, count me surprised! I'd never been nor heard of this place before - even though I've somehow been driving past it for years! Translated from Japanese as "the path to good food," Shokudo specializes in providing a broad range of comfort food favorites from across the Orient such as Sushi, Ramen, Kalbi, Pho, an array of other cross-cultural dishes and popular Asian street fare including buns and dumplings. Plant based Asian food lovers rejoice because they have a whole lot of options. On Mondays, they even have a special prices menu. The flavors were delicious! Be warned though, the time listed online for their close times have shifted I think. Both times I've been they sorta rushed us because they wanted to close (I arrived around 9:30 both times). Awkward! I'm not here to inconvenience anyone. Just eat delicious food and leave behind $$$ for the servers. Can't wait to come back for more!

Yelp
I always have low expectations going out to eat in Miami. I expect well presented food with average flavor and a high bill. Not this time ! Food was incredible, price was very fair and atmosphere was great. 10/10. I'll be back. I was very impressed with the sushi, the appetizers and the cocktails were fantastic. I worked in the restaurant business for 10 Years. I'm very picky and not easily impressed. This was a great choice and my go-to for Miami sushi moving forward

April M.

Yelp
Amazing food. Amazing service. Also Amazing ambiance/ music and such good sushi. Everything on the menu is delicious !! Especially the rolls and the veggie gyoza !!

Yelp
Had an awesomely delicious dining experience last night with my husband whos been a regular for the last 6 years. Last night we kicked off the evening with the roasted cauliflower, salmon carpaccio, and shrimp dumplings, which were all 5 stars The Chef really delivered VIP dishes all night! The sparkling saki was delicious! My husband and I shared the Crab roll, Buena Vista, and Spicy Tuna which were all deliciously outstanding

Yelp
Surprisingly good. The shimunja pork buns are a100% must. Ordered the sashimi (which usually is the same everywhere) but the red spicy dip was awesome. Will definitely will be coming back.. Great menu, variety and ambience. Happy hour on drinks and food was nice to grab.

Val S.

Yelp
I've been meaning to come to this restaurant for years. Finally made it and LOVED everything about it. I was looking for a nice place to take my neighbor for her birthday. My criteria was great food with vegan options, on the quiet side so we could talk, easy to get to and park. Not outrageously priced. Shokudo hit on all levels and then some. Food was PHENOMENAL. We shared five veggie plates - they were all so beautifully presented and incredibly flavorful. The service was so professional and caring. My neighbor and I were able to talk. Cherry on top was free parking! I want to bring everyone I know back here. HIGHLY recommend.

Ashley W.

Yelp
We were here on vacation looking for a late night sushi place & this one hit the spot. The service we received was fast and efficient & chefs kisses to the sushi chefs here. Our last dinner date in miami was a great night due to Shokudo!

Yelp
Such a cute little place and lovely atmosphere. They have plenty of outdoor seating which is why we came here and it was a great choice. There's not many cold days in Miami, but when it is, they even have heaters outdoors for you. I love the green Pothos growing over the bistro lights, it almost makes it look like medallions twinkling in the sky. Aside from the cute and quaint space outside, the food was good. It's a great break from cooking at home and it satisfies your basic sushi cravings. The area is a little difficult to find parking but a great option during these times as not many places offer outdoor seating.

Yelp
Being indecisive as usual, we decided to look for a restaurant to eat at after leaving the Frost Museum. Parking was a little funny, in attempting to find an open spot across the street or behind in the neighborhood where there isn't a "no parking" sign. After finding a spot, we made our way inside to the main entrance. There are a few tables here and you can see inside to the kitchen which kind of gives it that cozy Japanese feel. It also seems that there is a back room that may have more seating as well, since thats where the waiter went to get our drinks from. From the looks of it, they get a lot of take out business in the neighborhood, as I saw them prepping take out bags throughout the night. Our waiter was super friendly and helpful, and the music was on point when we got there, making it a fun night for us. When we checked in on Yelp, we got a Free Edamame and then we realized Happy Hour was in session, so we took advantage of that as well by ordering the: - Old Fashioned - Margarita - Ume Shiso Roll - Spicy Tuna Tartar - Popcorn Fish Off of the happy Hour menu, we ordered: - New York Spicy Tuna - BV Old Fashioned - Yuba Roll - Grilled Octopus - Spicy Scallop Roll - Vanilla Crepe Cake I don't usually like my octopus too charred, however one thing that was pretty unique was that it was served with a mashed sweet potato, that made it a pretty cool and tasty dish. All in all, everything was A-OK. If you happen to be in the area, it's not a bad choice to check out.
google avatar

James K.

Yelp
It is a decent restaurant that is worth going to for happy hour. A nice ambiance and decent prices. I tried a few things from the happy hour menu, and the most impressive was the Salmon Nigiri. The sushi itself felt like it had too much rice, akin to that of publix. The shisinto peppers were very good. I tried the popcorn fish since the waitress recommended it. However, it tasted like your basic fish sticks. The Java steak was an interesting plate. The meat had a very vingear-like taste, similar to how sliced meat is served in Vietnamese salad dishes. Overall I would say this place is just ok. I am in no rush to return but if I am in the area during happy hour I would be sure to grab a few bites

Keren D.

Yelp
I love coming here for happy hour. Usually you'll have the place to yourself if you do so during the week. They have amazing happy hour prices and great fresh rolls. But I personally loved the Shokudo roll that wasn't on happy hour pricing. The service is great and I like the music they have on in the background. Any time I have a chance for HH, I'll be back.
google avatar

Mafe D.

Yelp
Our experience at Shokudo was amazing. We enjoy everything including drinks and service. The menu is very broad so there is something from every taste. For appetizers We ordered the octopus which was so tender and with lots of flavor and also the shrimp shumai, we are pretty sure they are made in house because the filling was just amazing. For the main we went with the Ramen, really the best we have had in Miami, full of flavor and the toppings just amazing, specially the pork and the fermented eggs. We also try the Shokudo Sushi Roll, which was very generous and made with super fresh ingredients. The place has a very nice patio and also a separate bar space to enjoy happy hour or a nice cozy date. We tried the Margarita (amazing) and also a very nice gin and tonic with a twist. We are definitely coming back for sure to try other dishes because everything looks so so good.

Yelp
Shokudo Resturant Retain that name! A great venue. Fantastic Food and Service. Super accommodating! We were looking to "run away" from Swan- Midtown. One phone call and WALLAH! All eleven of us high tailed to Shokudo. Worth repeating!!!! Super accommodating, great food and fantabulous service. See photos for just 2 of the goodies!

Kyle B.

Yelp
Everything was just perfect! Great vibe. The service was warm and the Sushi Chefs are lovely to sit with at the bar. The Blue Crab maki and the Shokudo maki are a must, pad Thai with shrimp is delicious.

Yelp
I genuinely despite eating out. It takes a lot to get me in a restaurant establishment. This place however I will jump at any opportunity to go. I had both of my graduation dinners here, countless family and even romantic events etc. The food is incredible (orange chicken!!!, shokudo roll, shrimp shumai, octopus), the ambiance surrounding the outdoor seating, the staff. GO! Trust me..

Yelp
Doesn't look like much when you walk by, but this little gem is so cute. The ambiance inside is so chill and the set up is so nice. To begin we ordered a few starters veggie spring rolls, veggie dumpling, and the amazing Char Siu pork buns. The pork buns were our favorite so much we ordered them again. For food we got a few options, 1. Shokudo Roll: Such a great mix of shrimp and spicy tuna 2. Shio Ramen: great taste and amazing toppings 3. Beef Pho: the broth was great and the beef was tender and delicious 4. Branzino: this was a show stopper, when it came out the sizzling and smells were so delicious. The waiter was able to accommodate us and make this into a vegan option This spot is definitely really nice and the food was exquisite!

Yelp
Definitely one of my favorite sushi places! This restaurant is located around the Miami Design District, it's like 3 blocks from the main shopping areas so while you are driving by NE 2nd, watch out you literally just pass the restaurant because they only have a small sign outside. Even though you can probably get a table here during weekdays, 100% recommended getting a reservation for the weekend, especially for high hours like from 7.30-9.30 pm. This place is an open kitchen so if you sit inside, some of the food smell will probably stick with you for a little; however, they also have a beautiful outdoor area. The Edamame here are always fresh, and their gyozas as another option of appetizer are delicious. The dough is a little bit extra sticky but the filling for both, either the vegetarian or the pork one is delicious. Also, their buns are so good! And now they have a vegan option with fried tofu which tastes like heaven. The Kale Ramen is so hearty and perfect to share between 2 or even 3 people if you are ordering other entrees. Also, the orange chicken is not over sweet but crispy, same as the tofu version of it which both are great to share among 3 people. If you like Crab Rice, watch out because this one is extra salty (a little way too much for me). Of the rolls, the Shokudo roll is the signature roll from the restaurant, but the Dragon Roll is another classic. They don't have it on the menu, but they also have a Veggie Roll (a little bit dry since it's only raw veggies but it gets better if you eat it with some spicy Mayo). About the sweets, the Thai Donuts are amazing!!!! So soft and crispy on the outside! Also, the Banana Tempura will melt in your mouth. My favorite cocktail is the Lychee Dreams! The blend of Chicha Morada and Lychee is so refreshing!

Yelp
Overall, it's a nice restaurant with good food at reasonable prices. That being said here's my pros and cons: PROS: -Happy hour menu (runs daily from 5 to 7pm) and has great drink and food specials -Unique sushi rolls that are fresh and tasty -Bar makes good drinks -Ended up eating quite a bit for not a lot of money CONS: -Service was a bit slow -Ordered a couple of dishes that never came out -Not restaurant's fault, but parking is a bit difficult It's definitely worth checking out, but they get busy quickly, so be patient.

Yelp
Happy Hour from 5:30pm-7:30pm makes Shokudo the best value I've run into anywhere in Miami. Absolutely come here because all of their dishes were good, their sushi was fresh and the rolls are extra tasty. We had double the food and paid a 3rd of the price from Blue Ribbon a couple of nights prior. The service was a 4 out of 5. It could use some small adjustments to tighten up, but anything tighter would be Michelin level and then prices would definitely go up. The outdoor patio setup is very well-kept with an attractive aesthetic providing a subtly sexy ambiance that adds the extra star to this review. For the money, I highly recommend dining here during happy hour and trying as many dishes as possible. Enjoy.

Yelp
Poor service. On Tuesday nights Shokudo offers a vegetarian menu full of interesting dishes, so we decided to give it a try. First of all parking is difficult, so you might want to consider taking an Uber. If you find parking, the restaurant has both outdoor and indoor seating, but from there our experience was terrible. Given COVID we were looking for outdoor seating, but there was nothing available so we tried ordering for takeout. Immediately the situation became hostile. The host said that the vegetarian menu prices did not apply for take out. Instead we had to pay the price for their non vegetarian variants (double the price of the vegetarian option). Upon this information we simply had to walk out, paying the price of "high quality fish" for vegetables did not seem reasonable. Shokudo lost the same amount of money that would have been consumed at the restaurant with an occupied table. My Criteria 5 stars: The best food I have ever had, or an excellent option given the price. 4 stars: Good food, a restaurant I look forward to trying again. 3 stars: Good food, a restaurant that I am indifferent to. 2 stars: Below average experience, will not go again. 1 stars: This restaurant should be closed.

Yelp
We lucked out and had the most AMAZING server over at the Citadel and he informed us that he also works at Shokudo - so we (of course) ran out to Shokudos Happy Hour the VERY next night and boy oh boy aren't we glad we did!!!! Cesar is an amazing server/bartender/human - we are going to be visiting MUCH more frequently as I am already craving the AMAZING Margaritas that Cesar whipped up as well as those Jalapeno Poppers & ohhhhhhh and the GYOZA DUMPLINGGGSSSSS and the Fish Lettuce Wraps. OMG I want to go right now ......

Yelp
The cutest little hidden gem in buena vista! I randomly came across Shokudo looking for a sushi restaurant with outside seating and this popped up. I had never heard of it but I gave them a try, and boy how glad I did. When we got there around 8pm they sat us down immediately (we had reservations @8:15). Our server, forgot his name, but he was amazing! He suggested amazing items from the menu since we had never been. We had a bottle of the cold sake $16 and 2 tsingtao beer$6. For appetizer we ordered the jalapeño poppers that were stuffed with spicy tuna, cream cheese and then fried with truffle eel sauce on top. For rolls we had the shokudo roll and the samurai. Everything was amazing from the outside decor with the twinkle lights, to the service, to the prices and to the food. Highly recommend this place!! Especially since they have a great outdoor area!

Yelp
Very nice ambiance and space design. Parking is a big plus! Good, professional service. Food is pretty good except for ramen which didn't have correct broth base and too much noodles. We liked spicy tuna tartar, pork buns, glazed eggplant and Korean short ribs.

Yelp
I came here on a Monday evening. Service was great because we were one table out of maybe 6 that they were serving. Everything seems prepared to order so you will definitely wait on a weekend. The hamachi was so tasteful and simple. The chicken tasted light and not so full of batter. The ambiance over all was calm. Music playlist can use work. The parking situation needs to get better. There is very little parking nearby. But if you are not sure just call the restaurant. The food was great! I'd definitely come here again.

Yelp
What's up my Yelpian buddies? Now, I don't usually leave reviews with low star ratings; but bless Henry Rollin's soul; was I disappointed with this delivery (ordered straight from them, not Uber or etc) Here's a breakdown of the food that was ordered: - Veggie Gyoza: Good amount of gyoza. They did well with this one. Good job Shokudo. - Wakame Salad: Also tasted good, but the portion size was way too small. Only maybe three bites worth? - Edamame: this was okay. I mean, it's not hard to make edamame; but come on Shokudo. No salt on the edamame?!?! Where they do that at? - Chicken Fried Rice: all around fail. Sigh... rice didn't taste good, chicken was super dry, and the pool of grease at the bottom could oil my 16" frying pan for the next 4-5 meals - Thai Donuts - I swear I heard Rivers Cuomo scream "say it ain't soooOooOo" when I opened these and saw barely any sugar on them. They weren't warm (got delivery, so I can't blame them for that), but even after quickly heating up; they weren't that great. All in all... Eh. To be completely honest, the only reason I gave this 2 stars was because the delivery dude was cool and their prices weren't too bad. PS: this flyer they left at my apartment claims "40% off all bottles of beer, wine, and sake (with purchase of food). When you look on the site, you'll find sake discounted from the original price and the new price being $19. Yet, that same "discounted" sake is $13 at total wine and other places. Que?!?!?! Oh. Look at the pics. I took them once we said we couldn't eat anymore (would've eaten way less if this weren't our first meal of the day)

Yelp
I wanted to like this place so much... but it's kind of terrible. Went in a group of 6 people, we all ordered different things. I went for the ramen, expecting it to be the absolute bomb. Well... it's not. Disappointing at best, worst I've ever had at worst. All toppings except for the meat were cold, the egg was just soft boiled and not marinated at all, the pork belly had the thickness of Canadian bacon. The broth was alright. Noodles were a little too thick and a little too al dente. The service was pretty odd as well: we were getting served appetizers while people at our table were getting their main courses. Then the order was reversed. Why? I don't think I'll be coming back.
