Used to go here everyday for my coffee when I lived around the corner. Chill vibe, great coffee, tables to hangout.

Nice little community cafe, fill with community folks working and relaxing inside. The coffee and Chai Latte are good.

Cold brew decaf. DECAF. Such a blessing. Shot Tower is a cozy neighborhoody spot, has friendly service and overall is just great. But I’m pretty sure they’re also the only place on earth with decaf cold brew. I mean unheard of right? Thank you Shot Tower you have truly broken new ground

I'm writing this review live from the high top counter facing true West in Shot Tower, watching the yellow leaves fall down from the sycamore tree while sipping on my espresso doble from this baby blue espresso cup with Stevie Ray Vaughn's Little Wing cover in my chorded apple headphones. Okay I don't know if it's actually a sycamore tree but that was the first tree name that came to my head so I let it fly. For full transparency, this is my 2nd time here today and it's only 12:13pm lol so that should tell you everything you need to know. The natural light is flooding in here like that cute girl's DMs getting flooded after she deletes the pics with her boyfriend of 2+ years. Get em up fellas!! There is ample seating in this beautiful open floor plan... hol up let me count..... Okay yeah I counted 32 seats... but don't quote me on that I caught eyes with a few people as I was scanning and it was super awk so I'm not recounting. They make a MEAN Dirty Chai Latte with oat milk, as that is my budded love interest's go-to drink. It's honestly so gas lol I may be a convert from my espresso/black cold brew... but don't tell her that it would go straight to her head and she already be chirping me enough. The staff here always greets me with a smile and has good energy. This is an ideal place to get some work done, sit and read, or take a zoom call with your therapist when in Queen Village. Oh yeah, I read hehe haha :) I could write a whole novel on my newfound love for Queen Village, and I will one day. What a calm, quaint, and character-rich neighborhood this is. I'm obsessed. Very nice coffee shop. Seems like a great place to work, lots of seating and people on laptops. Drinks were yummy. We had a matcha latte with oat milk, an iced chai latte with skim milk, and a cheese croissant. There are no prices listed for pastries. The croissant was $3.25. Entrance is fully wheelchair accessible.

Industrial style coffee shop. Frequently filled with folks working and enjoying the delicious offerings. There is plenty of seating indoors with a few small tables outside. Try their iced maple latte. Sweet and refreshing.

I was in the Bella Vista neighborhood and decided to stop by Shot Tower. The cappuccino was excellent; it was rich and savory. I also enjoyed the background music while I was writing my journal. This coffee shop is clean and spacious. I’ll be stopping by more often.

Good coffee and pastries. There is a large table for groups, small tables for 2 and sitting on the bar. Really nice to come and read or work.

Google
Perfect coffee shop in a beautiful neighborhood. The vibe of the whole cafe really transports me to be in my productive state while working. The outside seating is also convenient as there is plenty of seats to choose from. The staff is super friendly! Highly recommend this place if you are looking to do productive work. The middle table is also awesome if you have a bigger group with you.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite coffee shops that makes one of the best simple hot coffees, not to mention great cold brew (some places just don't make it so smooth). I also love how much space they have to offer to sit and do casual work on a laptop or even just read a book. It's a very popular spot, so most days it's pretty packed with customers even on a warm day when they have extra outdoor seating. Bonus tip: decent bathroom setup for your kiddos who are potty training. They also have wonderful croissants (according to my preschooler child)!

Yelp
Got a vanilla latte and didn't taste any vanilla and wasn't sweet. Service was fine. Seating inside and outside. Coffee tastes okay not great.

Yelp
Charming spot, nice location, but had pitch my cappuccino and walk to find a real espresso drink.

Yelp
I stopped by here for about four hours waiting to check into my airbnb. Very nice place! Inside and outside seating available. I had a yummy pumpkin spice latte and drip coffee. Very good!

Yelp
Clean. Friendly staff. Very nice neighborhood feel cafe. Kids books available. Community table available, plenty of space for everyone. Good coffee and good selection of pastries. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Little neighborhood coffee spot. Nice place to work online but can be hard to get a seat sometimes. I feel like the coffee can be inconsistent, price is reasonable.

Yelp
Shot Tower has a neighborhood vibe, nestled between Queen Village and Bella Vista. I was here in winter, but I imagine the foliage in fall or blooms in Spring would be even more aesthetic. I had an iced latte, and the espresso in a glass was very good and certainly a bit more evironmentally conscious. I was envious of the blue coffee mugs and their espresso blue mug offspring. The ambiance of real wood tables free standing and set against the windowed perimeter with real chairs and natural light is a studier's paradise or workaholic's weekend escape. I fall into the latter. Food was the only downside. They only had bagels and cream cheese at day's end, but that was executed well. With a few more food options, with mild music and the sound only of clinking glasses and mugs, this might be a regular spot as I write a paper. Cheers!

Yelp
A wonderful neighborhood cafe with welcoming barista, also very skilled! I do have to say in the midst of this pandemic where many employees are leaving and not being treated well, this barista was a ray of sunshine. I ordered matcha latte, it was so pretty, but I have to say it was the best tasting matcha latte in town. I have tried matcha latte at other cafes and they either have strong matcha flavor or too weak. This latte was perfectly balanced! It made me so happy finally being able to taste a well balanced matcha latte! It has a nice interior space, but enough outdoor's tables and chairs.

Debbie T.

Yelp
Great atmosphere good coffee and pleasant and friendly service lots of different customers come and go - and dogs and babies too!

Yelp
I had an iced americano and it tasted like what I'd imagine garbage water would taste like. I mean just disgusting coffee. Even though it tasted like poison I thanked them for the coffee and went about my business. The person working there today was rude and treated me coldly. I just wanted a coffee and a calm place to work, but I got stared down and disregarded by the staff. They need DEI training and a way to report these incidences. It is a quiet spot to work, so that gets one star.

Yelp
Loved the interior, coffee, and and merch selection. One thing needs improvement is getting couple of plant-based baked options. Would be nice to have this option. Otherwise planning on coming back for some nice coffee and ambiance.
google avatar

Efraim S.

Yelp
Super nice ambience and location The coffee is just the elixir brand Roastery, which is of course quite good, but they are not roasting their own coffee. I also do not believe they're making their own bakers which means that this is just a very nice local coffee shop.
google avatar

Katrina L.

Yelp
Quality iced vanilla latte ($5) in a nice environment. There aren't too many food options, but they did have croissants and some small snacks. There were quite a few outdoor tables - all were occupied during my visit, but I would happily enjoy my latte sitting outside next time (this visit, I took advantage of the nice weather and walked around the neighborhood, which is a really enjoyable walk).

Yelp
i go here very often before or after school, since i go to one of the schools just around the corner. it's a wonderful, place, and i couldn't ask for more! service, food, and drinks are wonderful. by now the barista who's usually there when i go already knows what i'm going to order when i walk in! not to mention i love the seating. the window seats are great and there's outlets under them, and the seats in the middle are really fun too, since they swing. there's soft background music playing and it makes for great ambiance, along with the wonderful decor. nothing i would change! keep doing what you're doing, shot tower.

Yelp
Walking around town and came across this super friendly cafe. Very welcoming as soon as you walk in the door. Oh and the latte was soooo good. Hubby got the hot chocolate and couldn't stop talking about it. Lots of people working on their laptops. So if you need a place to do work and want to grab a coffee or just sit back and relax with a latte and a pastry this is the place.

Yelp
One of my favorite coffee spots! Easy going, airy atmosphere, plenty of space, kind and helpful staff and lots of friendly regulars. Also great coffee and snacks! Nice sidewalk seating options.

Yelp
Beautiful coffeeshop, lots of light and good vibes. They serve Elixir coffee beans and seem to have most of the same baked stuff.

Yelp
I love the vibes of this coffee shop. Super cozy and warm. Great place to study or get some work done. One of my favorite chais too. Not too sweet
google avatar

Christian L.

Yelp
Hard to locate Philadelphia brew. Ordered an espresso. Seemed to me, the barista girly did not know how to operate the machine. She was chattin' with a friend.. while taking eons! My espresso was not hot and lacked punch. No Italian grind, either way. I added cream - but it was no use! The shop itself is on a brisk corner, where you can watch daily life. Inside, they made the mistake of making it amenable to parents and kids. A toy corner, children's art on the walls: some mother came in with a toddler in a 'Jaws' t-shirt. Why can't these shops that pop up; just keep it a real strong caffeine shop? Especially in Phila. That's what I expected from a name like 'Shot Tower'.. That's all it takes for 5 stars: strong coffee and a small station with crude cane and some flavors. Rebel review: 3 stars

Nancy C.

Yelp
One of the best matcha lattes I have had in the city. I've been searching for coffee shops that actually make Matcha latte the right way. with real matcha and a whisk, then add milk - the drink should be more bitter and if any sweetness it would come from the milk and be mild. So if you are used to drinking Starbucks (or OCF and lots of other coffee shops in the city), this is gonna be very different for you. The other places usually just use a premix, super sweet and basically sugary milk with a hint of matcha flavor. Real matcha is expensive, the sugary premix is not. So even though a small was like 4.5 and large was 6, it's not ridiculous -- another shop a few blocks away also charge their latte for $6 but just use sugary premix. Enough sitting on a weekday to do some work here!
google avatar

Yelp
Enjoyed our time there. Coffee Danish Bagel and a Cappuccino. We will be coming back
google avatar

Danica S.

Yelp
Best iced mochas in Philly! The people who work here are so friendly and they have the best pastries too!

Yelp
This cozy corner coffee shop[1] is a classy chameleon, perfect for that Tinder date, perfect for meeting with friends, or even casually catching up on light reading. It's bright, has good service, and brews La Colombe if you're particular about your beans. Not thrilled with their five dollar credit card minimum, but there are enough edible goodies and coffee extras - yes, I'll have vanilla in my latte! - so that won't matter much. Stop in if you're in South Philly. You might see me hosting a coffee happy hour here. [1] Two of my favorite things in their name.
google avatar

Hyejo L.

Yelp
My friend and I needed a place to caffeinate and study, so we went here. Go early so that you can grab a table with an outlet next to it, because it gets busy during the day! The cappuccino with almond milk was good, it definitely kept me awake for studying. I like that the windows are large so a lot of sunlight comes in. I would study here if you don't mind background noise but would go elsewhere if you need quiet to study. I wound definitely come back again to get some studying down or to grab coffee.
google avatar

Gerald S.

Yelp
South Philly is all about neighborhoods, and one of the best ways of bringing the community together is to have corner cafes in abundance that provide a warm safe place for people to congregate over excellent java and light comfort food. Whether studying or being contemplative, such atmosphere tends to bring to best out in us. So it is with Shot Tower Coffee. Sitting on the southeast corner of S. 5th & Christian, the large plate glass windows filter the afternoon light into a mellow golden glow that quickly transforms the small room into a spiritual center whose ambiance is palpable. No wonder people come and hope to stay as long as possible; sometimes on their laptops, and often is simple chats or just meditating as they mindlessly stare out the windows to the street life on the other side of this gossamer screen. Not to mention that the bean life is also excellent, with friendly service folk who engage so well with customers. My chai latte was a large glass mug of well designed and prepared tea and milk that had great mellow taste and aroma. Likewise, the vanilla latte was bright with subtle vanilla flavor, and only needed a short shake of brownulated sugar to climb to the proper sweetness. A sucker for lemon bars, theirs was wonderfully tart with crunchy base. Loved it! Why is it called, "Shot Tower?" Damned if I know, with its double meaning. I'll leave that to the coffee historians. All I know is that I'm glad to have finally stopped in and realized the pleasure of its charismatic grace.

Yelp
On the corner of 6th and Christian. Espresso is very tasty and they offer a small assortment of pastries and ground coffee. A very nice place to chill, get some work done, and enjoy a coffee break.
google avatar

Bill M.

Yelp
Hooray for another hip and exciting new(ish) coffeehouse in South Philly. I'm only downgrading to four because Shot Tower's interior isn't the spot to be if you're looking to sit back and get some work done without having to sit among perfect strangers. Aside from outside tables when weather permits, and a couple single tables that fill up fast, seating is fairly limited to being either by the window, or at a huge communal table. Also aside from a few wrapped up sandwiches that I have yet to try, Shot Tower's food menu is more or less limited to croissants and appeasing your sweet tooth. But when it comes to where it counts in offering a variety of delectable caffeinated beverages, Shot Tower shines through. it beans are provided by an incredible brand in Stumptown Coffee. and they manage to make an especially strong iced coffee, Americano, and red eye! It also has a section that is dedicated to plenty of free local publications, and a monthly selection of original artwork on the walls.

Yelp
This place has been on my mental list of South Philly coffee places to visit for a while. It didn't disappoint. The location it's self is very pretty. Lots of windows, high ceilings and it was tastefully decorated for Christmas. It wasn't super crowded so I was able to get myself setup with my papers to grade at a table. The barista was super friendly and greeted me as soon as I walked in. They have a vintage looking menu displayed in the wall with all of their drinks. They have a $5 minimum on cards, which I didn't quite make with my soy cappuccino order. The barista quickly recommended the chocolate covered almonds which were only $1 putting me at $5.10. WOW were those good and a great compliment to to cappuccino. Also, I noticed they have a kids reading zone! Super cute and great way to show they welcome families.

Yelp
Popped in here for coffee during our weekend in Philly. Loved everything about it! Friendly staff, excellent coffee drinks, nice decor and ambiance. Love the long counter seats right in front of the windows. Had a cafe au lait and chocolate croissant - both were A+
google avatar

Andrea M.

Yelp
Good coffee! I got here a lot to get coffee to go. It's always pretty crowded with people hanging out. Very welcoming feeling. I went in once and the music was a little odd but could have just been an off song.
google avatar

Michael B.

Yelp
Let me tell you, Shot Tower Coffee was really remarkable. There was absolutely nothing to complain about here. Pretty much every item that we purchased was extra fresh and flavorful. Bonus that their service is so wonderful, they are so fast and courteous. Will come back soon.

Randal C.

Yelp
My laptop WiFi kept disconnecting. I had to manually reconnect about 10 times before finally leaving. The espresso was very good and strong, but it was only a small thimble-sized shot, portioned for an ant I can only assume. It came with a dirty spoon. Scrub harder on the dishes.
google avatar

David W.

Yelp
Big windows, lots of natural light. Spacious interior. Coffee excellent. If you're in the area, this is it.

Eric N.

Yelp
Quintessential coffee joint. Subdued music, great digs. Consistent cappuccino and lively service
google avatar

Yelp
Perhaps the best decaf pourover I've ever tasted. Great seating, great light, great wifi.
google avatar

Leann H.

Yelp
Great coffee. Cute decor and feel. I like that they had fresh peaches when I went in. The prices are reasonable and I liked that they put simple syrup and soy milk out. I hate that some places make you pay $0.75 for a splash of soy milk as creamer when the whole container costs $2. They seem to have some baked goods and snack if you're on the go and they have a lot of options for tea. The specialty drinks may take a bit longer to make then your local Starbucks, but totally worth it at a comparable price and you're supporting a local business. I've been back 3x in the past week. Keep up the good work!
google avatar

Sally L.

Yelp
Nice and cool in the summer. Clean bathroom. Great open space with bright natural light and fast internet. Not too crowded. Coffee is excellent. Snacks/juice in the case seem a bit sad at times - the OJ looks like it is bursting out of the container. Then again, who comes to a coffee shop for the OJ? Overall, this is a great place for work and coffee. However, the hours are limited. I wish they were open earlier and later! Credit Cards are taken but there is a $5 min.
google avatar

Rob F.

Yelp
A great addition to the queen village and bella vista neighborhoods that already host several great coffee spots. The space is attractive and has very cool wood table that reminds me of my high school cafeteria table except with style. Very clean and open decor, although voices kind of echo throughout the shop. I would have opted for small tables instead of window counters but it is still a very nice spot to hang out. They brew coffees from different regions each day and the owners seemed to be pretty knowledgeable when they describe their flavors. Coffee A+ Food... probably could upgrade the offer, but hey they've only been open since Monday! Overall a nice place that may be taking me away from philly java every once in a while.

Yelp
After having visited Shot Tower Coffee every morning for the past year, I think it's time for me to update my review on Shot Tower! Their coffee is so good. I usually go with the cold brew, which if you don't know, is not actually brewed but more like soaked overnight and then filtered and diluted in to a delicious, strong ice-cold coffee. The staff here is great and genuinely nice. There's outdoor seating and plenty of people watching since it's on the corner and a fairly busy stop. They also have a table with lots of communal seating and reading material all over, which is great. Special Note: If you're a regular, you can register and add money to your account so you don't always have to have money on you! Also, you get a free coffee after purchasing 10. Also, dogs are welcome!
google avatar

Yelp
Cute corner coffee shop in the neighborhood where our airbnb was located. We had to wait in a short line, which gave us a good chance to check the place out. There were a number of people there but it didn't seem cramped at all. Every single child there was reading something and they have a big selection of children's books available on a shelf for those who didn't bring their own. I ordered a chai with almond milk and it was perfectly made. The pastries were calling our names but we were soon heading to brunch so we didn't get a chance to check them out. Maybe next time!

Yelp
After walking back and forth between two different coffee shops in the area, I had just about given up. Both were tiny and every single seat were taken up. every. single. seat. As we hopped into our car and drove down the street, I saw Shot Tower Coffee with empty tables! PRAISE! We parked and headed in where we gained access to seats, tables and wonderful coffee. It shouldn't have been so difficult but we were taking the "Ls" all day trying to find a coffee shop to study at. On that note, i have a huge bias for Shot Tower now. Shot tower isn't a HUGE place but they have a decent amount of seating. They also have fairly priced lattes and access to wifi. Just forewarning though-- there's a $5 charge minimum.

Bopa V.

Yelp
Everyone here is SO NICE and always smiling. It's really refreshing to see these days, and it actually makes my morning. Some coffee shops in the area can be a bit pretentious and snobby, but I've never felt that vibe here. The coffee here is great! My boyfriend and I love both love coming here. The space is beautiful and the large windows are a bonus. I would definitely spend more time here if I could!

Ray A.

Yelp
Amazing staff and delicious coffee. Everyone was super friendly. Best sesame bagel and they even put the butter on it for you! Lovvve.
google avatar

Katie O.

Yelp
Great coffee shop! Usually pretty quiet. Coffee is really good. The baristas are friendly. While you can't use a credit card for purchases under $5, they do let you create an account and put money on that and use that when you come in. A great spot hidden in Queen's village.
google avatar

Janis C.

Yelp
Great studying location! Love the outdoor and indoor seating atmosphere. The green teas are great. However, the iced coffee and iced chai were not as great. The coffee leaves an interesting after taste.
google avatar

Yelp
I have nothing against big chain coffee as I frequent it often but, I always take the opportunity to visit the coffee houses whenever I am in Philadelphia. Due to it's proximity to most of the things I do in Philly I find myself at Shot Tower at least a handful of times in a month. It is easily one of my favorite coffee establishments in Philly. My wife had the opportunity to visit Shot Tower over the weekend and immediately recognized the difference in taste, and make up of her vanilla latte compared to what she drinks on a regular basis. I am no stranger to the quality of coffee and the crafted beverages here.
google avatar

Yelp
Inviting atmosphere (they allow dogs!) with great coffee and yummy pastries. What more could you want?

Yelp
Cute shop! I hadn't been to Philly in over a decade so I was surprised to see how much the city has changed, and Shot Tower Coffee is definitely a change for the better. It felt like a place I'd wander into in Brooklyn, not Philly. Really great iced coffee--the brew they use tasted a lot like the iced coffee that I was obsessed with at La Colombe When I lived in NYC.
