Philly Food
OX Coffee
Coffee Shop · Queen Village
Great coffee shop just around the corner!
Jim's Steaks
Cheesesteak restaurant · Queen Village
Right down the block from TLA! Can't miss it. My favorite Philly cheese steak place. No competition. Touristy long lines die off in after 4pm. Worth the wait imo.
Pizzeria Stella
Restaurant · Society Hill
Great pizza, pasta and other Italian dishes..and this is coming from a New York Italian :] Just a short walk from the TLA theater. Great outdoor dining space too!
Gnocchi
Italian Restaurant · Queen Village
Awesome homemade pasta. Took my Italian father and grandparents here and they wholeheartedly approved! I swear it's as good as my Grandma's homecooking. Friendly staff. Small restaurant that may need a reservation, BYOB, cash only.
Essene Market & Cafe
Grocery Store · Queen Village
A 'natural foods' store from 1969, before organic was trendy and kale was considered edible. It's a great place to pick up staple fresh groceries, as well as niche limited diet and imported foods (they have some korean food and snacks here :] ) The dine in cafe is not open during covid times. However, it does still have a grab and go prepared foods section still.
Whole Foods Market
Grocery Store · Washington Square West
Figured Id mark the closest whole foods. Full hot and cold food bar. Parking garage at the top of the builing so no worries when it comes to street parking.
Shot Tower Coffee
Coffee Shop · Queen Village
Used to go here everyday for my coffee when I lived around the corner. Chill vibe, great coffee, tables to hangout.
Dae Bak
Korean restaurant · Chinatown
My go-to Korean place! All through the pandemic, this was my spot to support with maaaaany take-out orders. They give you a lot of food for the price AND they are the only Korean place in the city that gives you free banchan. This is what I order on a payday if I wanna treat myself. :]
Terakawa Ramen
Ramen restaurant · Chinatown
TASTY ramen. Nuff said.
So Korean Grill
Korean barbecue restaurant · Melrose Park Gardens
I had my last birthday dinner here! :] A bit of a hike but so worth the trip. If it was closer id be there all the time. Also right next to a giant H-Mart / Paris Baguette if you need to stock up on home comfort snacks and such.
Reading Terminal Market
Market · Center City East
Highly recommend Bieler's, Pennsylvania Dutch bakery inside the market. Their donut selection is just too damn good. Tons of other great food stalls and shops to try. This place is the only reason Philadelphian's dont hate jury duty (a block away lol) 'Reading Terminal Market. One of America’s largest and oldest public markets, housed since 1893 in a National Historic Landmark building, the Market offers an incredible selection of locally grown & exotic produce, locally sourced meats and poultry, plus the finest seafood, cheeses, baked goods, and confections.'
Bing Bing Dim Sum
Temporarily Closed
I need to go here more :[ Super tasty~! Fun vibes! The area has lots of other great spots, including a gelato place close by! 'Bing Bing Dim Sum serves up Chinese plates with a Jewish-American twist. Enjoy inventive dishes and creative cocktails a this cozy, yet lively spot on East Passyunk Avenue. '
Frankford Hall
Restaurant · Fishtown
Beer Garden! With casual and warm vibes. They have plenty of self serve dining inside and an outdoor courtyard with fire pits and jenga games. German sausages, pretzels and such. A short walk away from Barcade (another favorite spot for good beer selection and games)
Barcade
Bar · Fishtown
Great selection of draft craft beers, local, imported etc. Lots of arcade games of all types to play with friends.
Parc
Restaurant · Rittenhouse
Really popular, mainstay of Center City Philly. Vintage Paris bistro vibes. Really nice view right across from Rittenhouse Square Parc. Good for people watching. Food is always awesome and the pasteries are delicious!
