The 26 Best Restaurants In Mumbai - Mumbai - The Infatuation

"Since 1945, Mumbaiites and visitors have been lining up outside Shree Thaker Bhojanalay’s door, sometimes even down the stairs and onto the dusty chaos of Kalbadevi’s streets, and for good reason. Their unlimited Gujarati thalis are revelatory, and the warm, efficient service ensures you never want to leave. No matter how busy it gets (seating is first-come, first-served), the movements in this energetic dining room always seem choreographed. Waiters with four-bowl caddies loaded with vegetable dishes, chutneys, pickles, and platters of farsan, rotis, and rice, walk around and fill (and refill) steel plates and bowls, while urging diners to go for third helpings. More reasons to become a regular: The menu changes daily, and on weekends, the thali includes sweet dishes such as gulab jamun, shrikhand, and fruit custard." - roshni bajaj sanghvi

The 38 Best Restaurants in Mumbai, India | Eater

"No one in Mumbai does a thali better than Shree Thaker Bhojanalay, the crown jewel of Gujarati hospitality in the city. The vegetarian meal features over 20 traditional items carefully arranged on the plate in a very specific order, including some Rajasthani delicacies. In winter, Thaker will serve undhiyu, a painstaking specialty of the city of Surat made overnight. There’s a giant photo wall behind the register, where you can spot culinary legends like David Chang, Mauro Colagreco, and Nigella Lawson, who have all been humbled by the restaurant’s thali. The servers will refill your plate endlessly despite any protests; the meal is over when they say it’s over." - Sumedh Natu

We went to iconic restaurant which is well known and established where many celebrities have been there. They serve almost 20-25 varieties and all of them is satvik food. Though it is pricy but it also provide quality food. They give five types of chutneys, three starters ir farsan, six to eight gravies, three to four types of dals, three sweet dishes, four types of bread, three types of rice with chaas and mineral water. Their menu keeps changing every day and filling is unlimited. Something you need to wait as well

Excellent Food. Unlimited Thali Food. Clean and High End. ₹ 1000/- Per Thali. No Discount. Although pricing is on higher side but food quality us awesome with less spice. Recommended for those who have high appetite. Attracts up market high end customers. Recommended for Thali Lovers. Due to higher pricing not recommended for regular visit but at least once.

A Gujarati Feast Worth the Wait Shree Thaker Bhojanalay offers a delightful and authentic Gujarati Thali experience in a warm, homely setting. The food is incredibly delicious, showcasing a wide array of flavorful and traditional dishes. The staff are also noteworthy, being sweet-spoken and attentive. Be prepared for a potentially long wait, as this popular spot is often busy, but the quality of the food makes it absolutely worthwhile. Given its location and potential parking challenges, it's highly recommended to never drive. Just Uber for a stress-free visit. If you're looking for a genuine taste of Gujarat, Shree Thaker Bhojanalay is a must-try.

Shree Thaker Bhojanalay has been ruling the Gujarati Thali scene of Mumbai since 1945… and rightfully so. The place serves authentic Gujarati vegetarian fare through their Unlimited Thali. Food is simple and flavourful. You will be spoiled for choice. We were served five sabzis, a dal, a kadhi, two sweets, multiple options of rotis, varieties of farsan and the main attraction.. Aamras. The choices in rice were khichdi, pulao and steam rice with Dal. There's a free flow of ghee wherever you need it. The staff was very welcoming and attentive. The service was impressively prompt and perfect. The patrons are happily urged to have more servings. At ₹1000 per Thali, I will not be surprised if some find it steeply priced. But then they make it up in quantity, quality and service. It's value for your money. A few negatives would be ambience and accessibility! The fact is that it's an old eatery which today falls short of space and hence crammed up. Also the restaurant is on the first floor, so senior citizens with trouble taking the stairs should stay away. Thirdly, we all know that there's no parking space in this locality and so taking public transport to teach here is highly advised. In the end I will say, wherever you live in Mumbai, a visit here once in a while is well worth it. P.S. They should use the tagline… Khaao Maari Saathey 😋

Good at taste and variety of cuisines. Only drawback there is no mobile network for any service provider. It seems they have deployed network jammers deliberately 😕

There was a strand of hair in the pakodas served. The thali for Sunday evening for prices at Rs.1000. It seemed overpriced for the variety/choices of options served, in my opinion.
