Best Restaurants in Kendall Square, Cambridge | Eater Boston

"The patio at Shy Bird is quite the vibe — the restaurant stretches out the outdoor season with heaters, and serves up homey meals with an emphasis on rotisserie chicken. To get a good sampling of that signature dish, try the Classic Bird, which includes a whole (or half) rotisserie chicken, sauce, and fries or a house salad. In addition to dinner, Shy Bird is a cafe and a bar, so you’re covered for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner." - Erika Adams

The Biggest Restaurant Openings to Know About in Boston, March 2025 | Eater Boston

"A chicken-focused, all-day spot that has opened a third location in Fenway. Known for chicken in many forms — truffled chicken frites, fried chicken sandwiches, rotisserie chicken — it serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch. It also offers a work-from-the-restaurant deal for $17.95 that includes a meal, bottomless coffee, and a place to hang out with your laptop on weekdays until 4 p.m." - Erika Adams

4 Great Fried Chicken Sandwiches In Boston - Boston - The Infatuation

"Between the egg and hot honey, you’re essentially having a glorified breakfast sandwich at Shy Bird. Heck, it’s even served on a doughy vehicle that looks like an English muffin (though thankfully it isn’t one - the bread is more like an unsweetened Portuguese bolo). The chicken here has an enjoyable crunch, and halfway through your sandwich when you’re licking liquid bee gold off your fingers, you’ll wonder why you’ve skipped breakfast all these years." - joel ang

Where To Have A Business Lunch - Boston - The Infatuation

"There was a time when a business lunch meant drinking at least two martinis at a leisurely pace while discussing the price of manganese in Siam. For better or worse, that world is gone (for the worse because of the loss of socially acceptable day-drinking, for the better because we no longer call Southeast Asian countries by random names that white people made up). Nowadays, you’ll probably need to be in and out pretty quickly, so head to Shy Bird. This Kendall Square restaurant operates as a counter-service spot but feels like a full-service restaurant (the full bar helps). The rotisserie chicken is outstanding and comes out really quickly, so you’ll be able to get back to your actual work in no time." - dan secatore

Boston’s Most Exciting Restaurant Openings of 2023 | Eater Boston

"At Shy Bird in South Boston the fried chicken bites are outstanding and can be ordered with sauces like chipotle, honey mustard, ranch, and sweet and sour—though they’re probably meant as an app, I’m perfectly happy getting a 12- or 20-piece. Their smash burgers are outstanding too, and they even serve Fernet‑Branca, which is both a blessing and a curse." - Erika Adams

Came here on a Saturday at 6:15 for dinner with a reservation for four. We were seated promptly and our drink orders were taken shortly thereafter. The interior is mostly a bar with some dining tables lining the walls. The staff were very helpful when we had questions about the menu and cocktails. The cocktails were all hits and the blistered shishito peppers and whipped ricotta & hot honey appetizers were pretty good. I ordered the whole classic bird and was surprised as to how small it was. Glad I went with the whole and not a half. Flavor of the herb roasted chicken was very good. The bread pudding dessert was fantastic! I’d say this place is worth a try if you’re already in the area, but wouldn’t go out of my way to seek it out.

Google
A great spot for brunch near Fenway! They have the same menu and vibe as the other Shy Bird locations. The beet and arugula salad and breakfast wrap were both tasty. They were busy but we were able to get in right away with a group of 3. The staff were friendly and prices were fair.

Google
Gorgeous place, and the service was very friendly. Usually breakfast burritos are too much going on, but the one here was so good and flavorful. My friend had the normal breakfast sampler and it was good too. Don’t even get me started on the banana bread, loved it.

B

Google
Nothing to rave about. We went there for brunch and it was average. We ordered the banana bread, chicken breakfast burrito and fried chicken eggs benedict. The orange butter that came with the banana bread tasted bitter and was very unappetizing. I think it could be from the orange peel if they used that. The egg for the eggs benedict was overcooked. It was like a hard boiled egg when the main point of an eggs benedict is a runny egg! I’ve had the chicken caesar wrap and ranch friend chicken sandwich before and it was good so I’ll stick to those next time.

Google
Coffee was the worst I have had in Boston, but I’ve had awesome coffee so the bar was high. The banana bread was really good! We got it as a side. The sausage breakfast sandwich was okay…. I would have preferred it without the aoli. It made it taste like a Big Mac and I don’t want that in the morning. My boyfriend said the spicy chicken breakfast burrito was good and definitely spicy. Food was good but the breakfast sandwich just didn’t hit like I wanted it to.

Google
Where to start. What a huge disappointment. Let’s start with this zucchini, not bad but was missing salt or some cheese on top but it was missing something. Now this half chicken plate. So this plate comes with chicken and some greens (a salad) I asked for a substitution of broccoli and was told there would be a sub charge. Well that sub charge was $12. The side of broccoli on the menu cost 12 bucks so I essentially paid for a side of broccoli and not an “sub charge”, I might as well have kept my green and gotten a side at this point. They should just say that their sub charge means paying for the side, not a couple of bucks more. The food wasn’t anything special and wouldn’t go back. Our waiter was a gem though.

Google
Absolutely a must to visit. We went early before a ball game and it was amazing. Jamie was our waitress and was personable and knowledgeable about the menu and the local area. The chicken and waffles and chicken Benedict were cooked perfect and well presented with generous portions. Great coffee as well

Cami T.

Google
They’re geniuses with this work from home deal, the ambiance and vibe is amazing and it’s clear there’s a lot of people working on computers making the place a lot more alive. Food is good - simple and clean!!! Is it the best food you’ll ever have? Probably not, but the vibe in the outdoor patio makes it a better option than their other Fenway competitors. Feels casual and affordable at a more upscale place/vibe. Honey mustard dressing they have is delicious

Yelp
Great local place to have a nice chicken meal. They are extending the wine menu to include a more diverse set of wines.

Yelp
Ambiance is excellent. A little dark, but not so much that you can't read the menu. We sat at a mini booth for two...very cozy, at a window tucked away from the hustle. Our server made some suggestions because we said it was our first time. She was lovely and gave great recommendations. We started with two old fashions, one traditional and one pear...both were excellent. We ordered the Shy Birds Dunks (fried chicken chucks) and the flight of sauces...which includes 5 different dipping options. So glad we did! I would go back just for the dunks and the sauces. So good. Crispy yet juicy on the inside. The variety of sauces is so good! Tangy, savory, sweet, tart, spicy...I couldn't decide which one I liked best. We also tried the thumblina carrots...delicious but needed a bit of salt, and the spicy maple grain bowl, which was fantastic, and the fried chicken sandwich, which was also fantastic. The grain bowl had so many textures and flavors going on...from shaved roasted Brussel sprouts to pieces of sweet roasted squash to delicious chewy grains, to a delicious sauce that brought is all together. The chicken sandwich was on a perfect bun, the fried chicken was perfectly cooked, and the dressing was perfectly tangy...and s generous helping of shoe-string fries...a 10. And, we even tried dessert...the toffee caramel cake was one of the best desserts I've ever had. The vanilla cake was so perfectly dense yet fluffy at the same time, and was drenched underneath caramel ice cream and a huge pour of rich sweet toffee. Again, would go back just for this dessert. Check out the pictures...you'll see what I mean.

Yelp
I would come back for their chicken burrito in the mornings or maybe a larger chicken dish at dinner. They apparently have four menus a day and the timeframe I happened to visit was their 3-4pm menu. Pretty smart! However, rating the food a 3/5 due to quality of everything besides the chicken. I felt like I could have got the same food at Tasty Burger at leave for their 3-4pm menu. Atmosphere is amazing and great seating options. You can even work from there all day. The service was quick and very helpful.

Yelp
Dined here with a friend before a concert at MGM Fenway. We shared the whipped ricotta with hot honey and we both had the 1/2 roasted chicken. Food was delicious. Beautiful, cozy space with friendly servers. Our only criticism was the size of the tables- they are tiny. We hardly had space for the plates and glasses after they brought out food. We made it work.

Yelp
Date night! Friday night. First time at Shy Bird Fenway. Had a great time here! Cool ambience inside and outside with the mural backdrop! Apparently they have work from Shy Bird which is a cool concept! Love that. Food was great good portions too. The spicy mushroom bowl was very tasty and hearty. Piri piri chicken was tender juicy and sauce was rich and spicy! One suggestion- I would like if they had the option of having the chicken already carved and sliced into pieces so it's easier to just dig in and eat without the work ha ha! Hubs had the burger which he enjoyed. Loved the space - it's huge and had lots of seating. We had a table by the window which was great! They have outside seating too which is very nice and probably good for another few days - holding onto summer lol!! But last night was a bit chilly so we opted for inside. Service was great - our server Jo was very nice. And the dude who brought our food was happy to take our photo as well! Overall great experience and will be back!

Yelp
My partner and I got the breakfast wrap w side salad and piri piri chicken w fries - TASTE: 3/5 - liked the pepper jack, avocado, and hot sauce in my wrap, but was expecting more from the piri piri chicken's bright & spicy sauce TEXTURE: 4/5 - stuffed wrap, tender chicken, and crisp fries PRICE: 4/5 - knew the price points would be higher, total came to $42 SERVING SIZE: 4/5 - filled us up for brunch before the Red Sox game SERVICE: 4/5 - made a Sunday 12:30pm reservation online and the space was super busy. Appreciated that our waitress checked in w us if we were in a rush for the game (we weren't lol), but food still came out faster than expected, about 15min after ordering ATMOSPHERE: 4/5 - tall, airy, and vibrant space. Crazy to see how much the Fenway area has changed over the years PARKING: 4/5 - got a metered street spot by Beacon St x Armory St and walked over

Yelp
A great place to grab some food during a Sox game! Quick walk from Fenway- but just enough to get away from the chaos and noise. Definitely recommend if you want to just have a nice meal before/after the game with casual vibes and some good food! We shared the chicken bites, strawberry watermelon salad, and the char sui wraps. They were good, but nothing crazy. Decent food, decent prices, but a really good time! Our waitress was so sweet and attentive, even during the hustle right before a big game.

Yelp
Perfect study/work spot. I visited Shy Bird on a weekday morning for the "Work from Shy Bird" deal. Of note you need to make a reservation! I didn't realize but the staff kindly still accommodated me, but they can provide an outlet and longer seating time if you have a reservation. The restaurant itself is beautiful with a big open space, lots of windows, and a beautiful patio for nice weather. They have a specific menu which includes breakfast items, sandwiches, half chicken, and salads/grain bowls. Theres also a specific drink menu which includes all the nice coffee drinks (latte, mocha, etc) and also matcha, hot chocolate, and chai lattes. Theres also a tea list! Drinks can be hot or iced. I tried the Calabrian chicken salad wrap with the rosemary fries, which was so yummy. It wasn't spicy but has a little kick, and was fresh and yummy. The rosemary on the fries was super tasty. I tried the match and chai latte and both were excellent. Would especially like to highlight how good the service was! Everything I ordered came out so fast and all the staff members were so sweet and accommodating. Definitely try out this spot!

Yelp
I had a delicious dinner tonight! This was my first time trying Shy Bird and I was impressed. I came with some coworkers. Our waiter was good and the food came out relatively quickly. The fried rice was spicy, a little too much. But it was still good. I will definitely be back to this place!

Yelp
This was such a fun restaurants to try out before a Red Sox game. We were seated right away in a comfy little booth and were warmly greeted by staff. We asked for suggestions on drinks to try out and were convinced to try the Strawberry Thyme Spritz and Fishing with Dynamite. We loved both of theme. We wanted a quick bite and ordered a few rounds of the dunks. Service was speedy and I liked the variety of sauces available.

Yelp
First time visiting Shy Bird in Boston at their Brookline Ave location, and it was such a pleasant experience! I was grabbing a bite and a drink with 2 of my girlfriends before the Jonas Brothers concert at Fenway, and this was the perfect spot to fuel up. It was busy, but the hostess was still able to seat us outside on their beautiful patio. The inside and outside of the restaurant were very inviting and had great flow. Our waitress was also very friendly too. She gave us her drink recommendations and was very upbeat and positive. I got the Smokey Old Fashioned which was very good and carefully crafted. Then moved to the eats. I ordered the Spiced Mushroom Bowl and added the Rotisserie Chicken. I must say, this dish exceeded my expectations. It was so tasty, so flavorful, and it was a good sized portion, too! I loved the Miso Vinaigrette; it played into the other flavors and textures in the dish perfectly. The chicken was also very moist and plentiful. Overall, I would absolutely recommend Shy Bird to anyone looking for a delicious, casual meal in a trendy setting in Boston!

Yelp
We came here on a Friday night and the place is definitely a hotspot. Their menu is small, but there is definitely something for everyone on there. Service was good. There was a variety of different drinks. I had a mocktail and it was probably one of the best cocktails I've had, but as it should be for the price tag, the chicken was good. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal. I had the bowl that had the butternut squash and brussels sprouts and it was very fresh.

Yelp
Got the chicken sandwich and the griddled banana bread. Both were delicious! Service was great and we got a table pretty fast without a reservation on a Saturday afternoon!

Yelp
Squash entree was delicious. Bird was tender and well cooked. Ambience was super cool and the vibes were great. Would definitely go back!

Yelp
We came here three times within a week just to try almost their whole menu! First impressions of this ShyBird location are great; they have great decor, a nice lofty bar area, and lots of tables! We were seated super quickly as they haven't really gotten too busy yet since opening recently. Our servers were always very nice and helpful, happy to help wherever needed. Now for the food! My favorites were the fried artichokes (so crispy and yum! Didn't expect it to taste so unlike the artichokes I know), lettuce wrapped pork (nice blend of fresh greens and meat), whipped ricotta (the hot honey was the cherry on top! This ricotta spread so beautifully over the toasted bread), and the truffled chicken frites (some seriously delicious truffle fries). Some dishes that didn't wow me were the cauliflower fondue (wasn't really the fondue I had expected, and I t was more of a cauliflower steak dish), smashburger, dunks (a little small for their price), and the fried rice (I thought they might have their own spin on this, but it was a little disappointing and flavorless). Overall, I think this is a great location if you want a laid back dinner, they have a smaller menu but a variety of choices. I will still be coming back due to the convenience of getting here and for the dishes I liked, I will happily order over and over!
google avatar

Yelp
I was really impressed by my first Work From Shy Bird experience! When you come in, the host asks how many are in your party and if you need an outlet, then they find an appropriate spot for you. I thought this was genius, compared to your average coffee shop experience of showing up and going through the trouble of finding a seat, only to realize that there's no outlet. We got there pretty early so we had our choice of seating and opted for a booth by the window. It definitely got busier as the morning went on, including those not doing the WFH deal. I ordered an iced matcha and the Egg White + Avocado Bowl. I was pleasantly surprised by how flavorful the bowl was. We also got a side of potatoes to share, which were also nicely seasoned. I got an iced chai later on, which I didn't enjoy as much, so I ended with another matcha. Renee was our first server, and she was fantastic. When her shift was over, we got a new server. Both were friendly and we never had to wait long for our drinks. I would definitely come back to try their lunch menu, as well as scope out their Southie location!
google avatar

Simone P.

Yelp
Always a go-to for me nowadays especially for a good meal during a game or concert. The dinner is def better than brunch in my opinion. After a rough start, l definitely like this place a lot. The vanilla matcha cocktail is delicious and a must-try. In addition, I finally tried the Piri-Piri chicken and the sauce was good and the chicken was very juicy. I'm looking forward trying other things
google avatar

Yelp
I tried a few different things at Shy Bird and overall had a good experience. The chicken and waffles were tasty, the waffles leaned on the sugary side, but still good. Portion size felt a bit small, though. The sausage and egg sandwich was solid; the egg was super thick, but I personally would've preferred a real egg with the yolk. The classic breakfast plate was just that, a classic. The bacon especially felt like good quality. The chicken sandwich had nice flavor, but the chicken was a little dry. I also grabbed a chicken Caesar wrap to bring on the plane, and it definitely did not disappoint! On top of the food, the restaurant itself was super cute and had a nice vibe. Servers were very nice and didn't hesitate to ask if we needed anything.
google avatar

Erin P.

Yelp
Came in for brunch this weekend. Nice spot. Got a bunch of the dunks and really enjoyed those with the sauce flight! Everybody at the table got something different and enjoyed it- I got the Caesar wrap and it was super tasty and perfectly chopped so you got bites of chicken and salad in every bite, not to mention it was a good Caesar dressing. I thought the breakfast cocktails were pretty meh and it was pretty tricky to get more coffee as they were busy (our server was really nice-not knocking him). A little loud, but a fun spot.
google avatar

Sophie L.

Yelp
I really wanted to love Shy Bird after hearing so many great things about their chicken Caesar wrap. While I didn't get the wrap itself, I did try all the components separately, and the Caesar salad ended up being my favorite part of the meal. The dressing-to-lettuce ratio was spot on, and it was overall super solid. The rest of the food was just okay. The chicken didn't really stand out, and the sauce we chose wasn't a hit for me (though that could be on us for not picking the best one). We also tried the spicy tuna, which was fine but nothing memorable. I'm open to giving it another try, maybe going straight for the wrap next time. For now, it didn't quite live up to the hype for me.

Yelp
Overall a really trendy place with cute decor and a good outdoor space. It's also in a convenient location if you're going to a game or concert in Fenway. The staff here was super friendly and on top of anything that we needed. The food was ok not bad but nothing special. For an appetizer we had the banana bread and the butter that came with it was good but honestly the banana bread was a little bland. My breakfast wrap was also just ok. The best thing that I tried was the chicken Cesar wrap. They do have a 17 dollar work deal that I think I would for sure come back to try!

Yelp
Went to Shy Bird before going to a show. We were seated within 5 minutes. Our server, Jo J was super sweet and very attentive. We started with a Shy Lady drink for me and a Smoky Old Fashioned for him. We then had the cheesy cauliflower fondue which is actually a small roasted head of cauliflower with cheesy sauce and toasted hazelnuts. It was a great unexpected combo of flavors! We had the 8 chicken dunks with a flight of sauces. We should've just settled on one because it was a lot of sauce for just 8 dunks. We both went with bowls-I had the Spiced Mushroom Bowl and was happy to find out that I got the last one of the evening. The crunchy rice was a nice touch. My husband had the Taste of Summer bowl which had some nice crunchy corn kernels. We both had rotisserie chicken on our bowls and it was very tasty. Love the cute neon Shy Bird signs inside and out of the restaurant. Great stop before catching a show at MGM or the Sox at Fenway.

Yelp
Shy bird is a really cute chicken spot in Fenway. I think they are known for their fried chicken. I got a Caesar salad with the fried chicken on top and it was good. My mom raved about the Peri peri chicken she got and said it was very flavorful. The ambiance inside was great and they had couches outside for seating. Our server was soo friendly and accommodating. Service was great. Solid spot. If you really like chicken you will like this place.

Yelp
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING BRUNCH!!! This restaurant offers a really cool fusion between brunch and crispy chicken. I have been meaning to try it and am so happy they opened a new location in Fenway. My girlfriend and I got the breakfast burritos, I with fried chicken and she got the sausage. It came with the meat, scrambled eggs, tater tots, avocado, and buffalo sauce. It was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend trying it with the fried chicken. I got fried in the side which were shoestring and were absolutely delicious, and my girlfriend's side salad was super fresh and delicious. Great service, plenty of comfortable outdoor seating, and delicious menu options!

Yelp
I mentioned in my review of the Kendall Sq location that I wanted to try Fenway and YAY, I did!! I celebrated the last day of finals and my college graduation here back to back. The outdoor seating at this location is FANTASTIC! Infinitely better than Kendall Sq with lounge furniture and GREAT vibes! Their martini with a shot of spritz is my new favorite drink, and unfortunately, even though I have yet to deviate from their amazing chicken ceasar wrap, I did try their nuggets which were also great. My friends and my mom tried a variety of their bowls for lunch which they liked, but consistently the consensus is to stick to the wrap. The perfect place for summer, and I cant wait to go back for their study deal next fall!

Yelp
One of the best restaurants located in the heart of Fenway! The third iteration of this restaurant has the same menu as the other two locations. I ordered the 20 piece SB Dunks. I expected the dunks to by tiny chunks of chicken... surprisingly each pieces were as big as a tender! This dish is great if you want a value meal! The batter was crunchy and flavorful! There was a great amount of salt and the rosemary/herbs were noticeable. The chicken was moist and has a great chewy texture. You can eat this without the sauce. The sauces were great (honey mustard, ranch, chipotle bbq, sweet & sour, and signature sauce). My favorite is their signature sauce (spicy bird bath). Fries might look bland but the rosemary made these fries one of the best tasting fries ever! The restaurant is very vibrant and beautiful! The scenery is lively during the day and intimate during the night. The staff were nice. I think some staff is new so they're learning along the lines with is fine. A perfect place for friends to hangout, a date, or a company funded dinner party!

Yelp
THIS PLACE!! This was my first time trying Shy Bird and let me tell you it was fantastic! I have walked by it a few times since it recently opened and always seen people inside and their signs promoting it. I finally stopped in and will definitely be back. I got the egg white and avocado plate, which hit the spot on a kind of gloomy morning. I also got an iced latte with oat milk and vanilla, and it was so good! I really didn't know what to expect with their coffee since I had heard more about their food, and I was pleasantly surprised! Like they really delivered on all fronts. I thought the inside of the restaurant was giving off great vibes, everything looks really nice, the menu has a lot of options - they're really the whole package. Had friendly service from the people working there. Overall a 10/10 experience!
google avatar

Jess M.

Yelp
I love the Caesar wrap flavor but which the chicken was warm or hot the wrap was ice cold and usually is cut in half but wasn't. Seemed like they just got my order and tossed a cold premade wrap in a bag when for almost $15 I thought I'd be getting freshly cooked chicken and freshly made wrap.

Yelp
Shy Bird was fantastic from beginning to end. Our server Becca was exceptional and helped to make sure that my vegan wife had all her needs met. Thankful they had tofu as many times restaurants have nothing but veggies and no protein. Becca was on top of getting us drinks and water refilled. My 1/2 chicken was super tasty and well seasoned. The chef isn't shy about flavor. A great place to go out of your way to visit.

Yelp
This was my first time ever trying chicken and waffles, and I'm very glad my first experience was in Shy Bird. I went with my friend who is from the south, so he is very critical of chicken and waffles, and he said it was delicious. It was made perfectly - the waffles were so soft and fresh, and the chicken was crispy and perfectly fried. The balance of flavors was also great - I loved the flavor of the honey sriracha paired with the flavor of the chicken. The portion was also huge and very filling! As for service, the servers were so friendly and they made us feel very welcome. The food also came out very quick - in about 10 minutes, which was amazing. The restaurant itself has a nice vibe and I like the decor - it has a cool atmosphere - but it is a bit loud and crowded. Overall, a very positive experience! I'm glad I tried chicken and waffles at Shy Bird, and I will definitely be returning again!

Yelp
Charming atmosphere but the fancy overpriced croissant wasn't very good and the overpriced coffee was good but not especially hot.

Yelp
Food and drink were outstanding. Very cool atmosphere and the service was excellent. The fried artichoke app was amazing. Chicken was top notch.

Here's what I'll say about Shy Bird in Fenway: in the beginning it was perfect and the wfh deal was a deal (17.95 for unlimited drinks including specialty drinks, available seating, and a great place to work from home). Then it got a little too popular and everythigg bc changed. No more speciality drinks, food has gone down hill, you have to reserve a table (but don't make the mistake of just reserving a table, no you must reserve the hidden wfh table), the service got slow, and worst of all, it's now $20. It's still a good place to hunker down for a wfh day, but once you know how good it once was, it's hard going back.

Yelp
Went on opening day, and there's definitely some kinks to work out. They had no idea where to send me to order take-out, had no one manning the registers, had no available menus to look at so I had to guess at the item I wanted, and there's no real place to stand and wait for your food (I was fully in the way of seated customers and waitstaff). Hoping they'll figure this all out in time. Everyone was very nice though, so that's promising. Sadly I wasn't impressed with the lunch food. My grains and greens bowl was fine and tasted alright and was healthy: but it was literally like half the size of any other similar bowl in this neighborhood, and for more $$. I got the Buddah Bowl which skimped on everything it advertised: for example, it said it included kale, but there were only a few baby leaves scattered about and that's it. The rotisserie chicken add-on I got was solid, but a small amount for the extra $5.5, and did little to bulk up the sad small bowl. I ate the whole thing pretty quickly, and while I wasn't technically still hungry, I wasn't exactly full either. Colleagues had similar complaints about other lunch menu items: for example, the Calabrian chicken sandwich was underwhelming and not very flavorful. I'll try again: maybe this was an opening fluke and the process/execution will get better from here. This place has promise, but needs to step up its lunch game in an area full of good lunch options if it wants to succeed.

Yelp
Service and atmosphere is great. Ex menu a bar selection. Even the background music is good, but not loud at all. Highly recommend the artichoke dip. Our waitress, Becca, was just great. Everything she recommended was spot n. She even brought my wife a wonderful birthday dessert, on the house.

Yelp
The service was attentive, polite, and courteous even during the dinner rush. However, the dish ware my classic chicken was served on was beyond disappointing. Plastic? Seriously? At this price point? I'm not a child--I promise you I can be trusted with grownup ceramic dish ware. BPAs aside, plastic is disgusting and becomes a Petri dish for Salmonella and E.Coli. Yeah, appetite lost. By contrast, the non-porous surface of ceramic prevents liquids from being absorbed, which reduces the growth of germs and bacteria. The decision to serve paying customers on these infantile, potentially bacteria infested vessels is beyond foolish.

Yelp
This place rocks!! The food, vibes, and staff are all amazing! There are so many fun drinks to choose from and all of the food tastes so fresh. 12/10 recommend. They also offer free matchboxes and stickers which is so fun

Yelp
Very quick service and a great happy hour type of deal! The food was amazing, and they were great at making it gluten free.

Yelp
Had a trying day at BI and ducked into here for a late lunch. Our waiter Chester was really warm and the whole experience was healing. Plus the food was wonderful. Not a place where you have to order more than you want. It was a lovely balm after a trying day and was the one perfect place in the Fenway today.

Yelp
Overall it was ... ok? Great location, and awesome decor. This place will be sooo cool in the summer! Staff and service was friendly and efficient. Attentive without being overbearing. Food is where they lose points. For Boston prices, I expected so much better. The umami bowl was bland and tasteless, the tofu addition was unseasoned and waterlogged. The cod was cooked well, but also very underseasoned. The peri peri chicken seemed almost burnt but remained juicy. The shishito peppers were okay, but lacked ... something. Garlic or lemon perhaps? They were ... fine. The rosemary fries were the best thing we had by far. Overall I don't know that we'll be back but ... it's a cool spot? ‍

Yelp
Best damn chicken bites I've had to date. Overall vibe is awesome, service was great. Super unfortunate about its location to the road, so can get noisy when the open air seating is a thing. Loved! Can't wait to go back soon

Yelp
I was super excited to try Shy Bird at the Fenway location, especially since I used to be a big fan of the Kendall spot. Unfortunately, this ended up being one of the worst service experiences I've had in a long time. We arrived and added our name to the waitlist while grabbing seats at the bar. The hostess told us it would be about 35 minutes. After waiting nearly 50 minutes and watching several walk-ins get seated, we went to check in....The hostess told us she forgot about our party... There was no apology or acknowledgment, just a quick shuffle to an outdoor table. Once seated, the server brought waters and didn't return for another 15 minutes. When it started raining, we saw the same server quickly help a group of men move inside, but when a couple asked to move, she told them they needed to check with the hostess. The inconsistency felt off. We eventually had to ask the hostess ourselves to move inside, as our food was getting soaked. While she did point us to a table, neither she nor the server offered to help us move our dishes. We had to make three separate trips with everything we ordered. Again, no apology, no courtesy. It's disappointing, especially because the patio space is great. But the lack of basic service and care made it a frustrating experience. I won't be returning and I would not recommend supporting a business with poorly trained staff.

Yelp
Had a delicious brunch at this new Shy Bird location. Have loved going to the one in Kendall, and this one is just as great. Had a delicious Breakfast Wrap. The brunch cocktails were great. Very good espresso martini. Love Shy Bird's coffee. The new location is super nice, the staff were all very friendly. Looking forward to visiting again!

Yelp
This place nailed down hospitality, service and most importantly taste. I had lunch at the bar and ordered the chicken caesar wrap which was one of the best i've ever had, the chicken is so fresh and breaded so well that it doesn't taste fried and overdone. It's perfect. I enjoyed it so much that 2 days later i ordered it off Uber Eats. This time i went for the smash burger which is the best i've had in Boston. It's the perfect burger and delivered so well. The same for the 6 piece dunks. 2/2 with Shy Bird and will keep going back.

Yelp
I've been to a couple of the Shy Bird locations before, but was eager to try their "work from Shy Bird" deal. It's so much better than I thought! Definitely one of them if not the best deals in Boston. $17.95 for several hours of remote working space (til 3pm), unlimited coffee, tea, and other non-alcoholic drink drinks, and one menu item-- they only serve breakfast until 11 AM so I got the caesar salad with their famous rotisserie fried chicken, which was absolutely delicious and a very well- sized portion-- I was definitely very full after that salad along with the latte and Blueberry Matcha drink. I asked for my Blueberry Matcha Latte without espresso since they were out of decaf. It only has half an ounce of matcha so it's not very matcha forward which is perfect for me since I'm not a matcha girlie. Service was very friendly at the bar and they have outlets to use and hooks for your bag. 10/10 would recommend!

Yelp
Let me give credit first that the service was polite and punctual, which is the only reason for two stars. The food was served at room temperature and the fried chicken sandwich was one step above Zaxbys. Also, prepare yourself for the 4% "Kitchen Administration Fee."
