16 Tongue-Numbing Sichuan Restaurants to Try in Los Angeles - Eater LA

"Sichuan KungFu Fish specializes in Sichuan-style pan-roasted fish. The spiciest Chinese foods typically come from two regions: Sichuan and Hunan. Sichuan spice is referred to as mala, or numbing spice, and although it is spicy, it is better known for the tingly sensation that Sichuan peppercorns produce when eaten.  The fish at Sichuan KungFu Fish is served in big metal fish-shaped hot pot containers filled with a bright red chile-infused broth. Diners choose between swai, cod, pollock fillet, and a handful of other proteins. Then, they pick their choice of spicy soup base and extra add-ons like quail eggs, spicy sour noodles, and udon. The dish arrives looking like a whole fish swimming in a pool of red chiles." - Kristie Hang

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant by far, and I’ve been to a lot! Everything we had here was so good. We had the Fried Sautéed Green Beans, which were very well seasoned and tasty, the Peppered Fish Filet- so amazing and flavorful (the smaller size for 2 was enough for us 4 adults since we had other dishes to share) , the roast chicken -sooo surprisingly tender, a beef dish I can’t remember the name of-but it was also great, and the Sugar Cake-perfection! Absolutely love this place.

a bit pricy but taste is very good. Not a lot of people, so service for us was awesome

Best and authentic roast fish and bullfrog. The price is fair, we five persons order one fish, one bullfrog and one beef and it only costs us 30 bucks per person.

It's the best Sichuan restaurant I have been after trying numerous ones for 10 years in LA. The food is authentic and made from high-quality ingredients. There's no MSG in it. The price is reasonable too. The owner is very welcoming and sweet. She took the time to explain us about the food culture.

This restaurant closes 30 minutes later than the holy crab and the pork folio. I quite like the modern decor here and the spicy taste as well.

Very tasty Chinese traditional food almost the same with the one I tried in Shanghai. 5 stars services too.

fish is fresh enough. The taste is just so so. However, the price is high. I can get food more delicious at many other restaurant with the same price. The environment seems good but just beautiful but not clean. The service seems good. But they are so busy and always in a hurry.
