The 24 Best Restaurants In Hell’s Kitchen - New York - The Infatuation

"B Side is where you go for brick-oven pizza in Hell’s Kitchen. The pies here taste like whoever’s making them cares more about bread than finding somebody to love. This restaurant on West 51st Street mostly has bar seats, but you can usually walk right in and get a spot. We especially like the carbonara pizza and the Roberta’s ripoff topped with chili oil, honey, and enough soppressata to feed a family of four." - bryan kim, willa moore, neha talreja, will hartman, molly fitzpatrick, ciera velarde

The 29 Best Theater District Restaurants - New York - The Infatuation

"As with any NYC neighborhood where tourists outnumber actual New Yorkers two to one, the Theater District has plenty of places to eat pizza. This one is dark, has mostly bar seating, and looks like a ’70s rec room. The brick-oven pies here taste like whoever’s making them cares more about bread than finding somebody to love. We especially like the carbonara pie and the one buried in soppressata, chili oil, and hot honey, which you can get until at least 11pm every day except Monday." - bryan kim, sonal shah, will hartman, molly fitzpatrick, ciera velarde, arden shore

Astoria is lucky enough to have many cute small boutiques for those looking to support small businesses this holiday season. If you’re still shopping for gifts, check out Side B. They are located near Kaufman Studios and next to Newtown HQ (their sister store). Side B has been operating for a little over a year now and is a sort of hidden gem in this neighborhood. This store has been on my radar for a while, but it’s only been recently that I’ve managed to stop by in person. For a small space, Side B manages to pack it’s store with many interesting items like books, vintage clothing, skin care, jewelry and art work. They even have a small selection of snacks. Highly recommend their Legally Addictive cookies. The cookies are made from crackers and then dipped in chocolate. They sell 4 different flavors (Peppermint Crunch, The OG, Everything Cookies and Churros) and all are delicious. Need help deciding on what to get someone? The very friendly staff can help with suggestions. This tiny boutique has rotating inventory and showcases small indie brands, most of whom are eco-conscious and women-owned businesses. Just knowing this makes me even more inclined to support and buy

Side B is the best gift shop you never knew you needed. Nothing in this store is here by accident and if you take a second to talk to the owner she'll tell you the story of the product. Whenever I visit this store I always find something great for a friend and something for myself as well. From clothing to house wears to snacks, Side B is a gem in Astoria.

The cutest store full of really awesome merch. The owner has a great eye for cool vintage and stuff by local artists/makers. I reached out to find out when face rollers would be back in stock and Lyn, the owner, didn't hesitate to order another batch and let me know when they came in. The customer service was amazing. Can't wait to go back.

Really neat shop with a big selection for a small space. Well edited choices for gifts - books, jewelry, DIY kits, clothes, skin care, and more! You would be hard pressed to not find something for someone here! Most of the items are from woman-owned businesses, with an emphasis on products from BIPOC entrepreneurs. Plus the owners are very involved in the Astoria community so you can feel extra good about shopping local.

Lots of cute items, clothing, and food stuffs too. Great for gifting or treating yourself. They're usually hosting some kind of pop-up as well. Definitely recommend for shipping local.

Stumbled upon this place and could not be happier! They have local crafts and arts, tons of soaps and fun home goods! I left with a little homemade tray and a fan - both beautiful and well priced!

Victor was so helpful and welcoming! We had a hard time not buying everything in the store. Lots of unique and interesting items that are made by local artists.

Yelp
Such a cute shop featuring local goods/artists and Filipino vendors! (Among others). The owner Lyn (also at the cleaners next door) is so friendly, energetic and helpful. Some products change or take time to replenish from the local vendor/artist, so if you see something you like, I suggest you purchase it when you see it! I bought earrings for myself and a really cute/funny birthday card as a gift for a close friend. There are occasionally some events hosted here so I highly suggest following the page on Instagram for updates. I would love to attend a soundbath or purchase Filipino-themed baked goods, for example!

Yelp
Hell yea!! This place is awesome. I'm Filipina so my answer is going to be heavily swayed in supporting this business. But really, it's great. I stopped by when they had a small market for Filipino History Month, they even had a bartender making Filipino designed drinks on the house. It was so cool and also wonderful to see the store supporting other crafters and community members who had booths at the storefront. The space has Filipino crafts and goods inside with some vintage clothes in the back. Artwork, jewelry, candles, cards, etc. Cute store and hope to see it continue to thrive!

Yelp
The decorations, items and owners are just straight up cool and good vibes! There are many small businesses that look similar or have the same items, but this one stands out in all the best ways. It's very unique! The owners are dog friendly and are friendly!

Yelp
Finally a Filipino woman owned small business here in Astoria! I'm a proud Pinay myself so visiting the store meant a lot to me. I picked up two Filipino chocolates for my mom's upcoming birthday. I really liked how the owner showcases beautiful Filipino designed artwork and other items which brought me back home. I am definitely coming back and hope this store gets bigger because they have a lot of gems inside.

Yelp
Was having a bad day and found myself walking straight to Side B for some retail therapy. I LOVE THIS PLACE. The shop owners are very friendly and you can tell that a lot of love and care goes into their store. There's so many goodies here - candles, clothing, accessories, books, snacks... I could go on but you just gotta see for yourself. They value supporting small businesses and have a rotating inventory from great local entrepreneurs. As a 1st generation Filipino American, it feels really good to be represented in my community. Protect this gem at all costs!
