Side Hustle Lounge

We did not have food on our visit so could not rate it, however, the service and drinks were amazing. Kennedi was very friendly and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed our visit to Side Hustle and will be returning.

Great atmosphere and food! Garlic knots and steak tips amazing, plus happy hour:) Chris and Brandon were some of the best bartenders we have had in Detroit! Definitely will be back!!!!!

Come here only to visit Brandon - he’s the best. Management should give him a raise and a busser. 😉

Checked out their “Elf” themed Christmas pop-up which is beautifully decorated and totally makes you feel like you’ve entered a Christmas wonderland! The cocktails even went along with the theme and were delicious. The staff was welcoming and very attentive. This is definitely a spot to check out before or after your dinner at Mootz, or you can even order off of the food menu in the bar as well!

Two people on a first date looking for some fantastic Detroit pizza and a drink to help calm the nervous jitters. Mootz had a wait so they suggested we go to Side Hustle until they called us. As we were discussing what to order, Brandon the bartender asked if I like gin. He makes me an outstanding drink! Then does the same for my date but it’s another Brandon original that was amazing! After ordering the hot Italian pizza which might have been the best I’ve ever had, he makes us another round. Two completely different drinks yet just as amazing as the first. The food, drinks, atmosphere, energy, personality, and attention was 10/10!! Kennedi is so sweet. They make such a great team! We intend on returning with our friends in the near future and will always remember our first date and first experience at Side Hustle! Cheers, Paul and Dana

Flight got cancelled so we stopped in and we walked up on gem. Brandon was our bartender, let’s just say he is one intelligent & exciting human. He welcomed us with the best energy and his cocktails are fiiiiirrrrreee. Love Brandon, the pizza & the vibes of this place!

Our waitress was amazing! Her name is Taylor, so if you go make sure you try to get her as your waitress. Would definitely return again just based off the service. The food was good, nothing to get too excited about, just a quick eat or somewhere to chat with friends and family. The atmosphere is decent again nothing to get excited about, it’s a chill space.

This place gets 3 stars. Not because its a bad place atmosphere or drink wise or ever mixologist wise. Actually great for that. But when it came time to pay my credit card was voided 2X. Perplexing as it works fine. The PIN was correct. Eventually used another card. And used the original credit card at 2 other places after. No issues. Come to find I paid $157 for 4 drinks. They were $14 each. Stupid me for not checking the bill. However....just beware.

Went to Mootz after a Wings game. The wait was at least 90 minutes. So, we snuck next door to Side Hustle Lounge and got a table right away. I can't really say for certain if this place is truly associated with Mootz, but they share a bathroom and multiple doors. Seems like they might all be working together. I ordered an Old Fashioned and it was really good. We also ordered cheese bread as an app and then my wife and I each ordered our own 10 inch pizza. I had the Hot Italian and she had the Sweet Attack. We are in on the trend of hot honey on our pizza. They were delicious and we had plenty to bring home for left over pizza tomorrow. Very minor detail, and it's mostly personal preference, but I don't like paying my bill while the waiter stands beside me watching me select my tip.

Fantastic service and cocktails made by Steve! I had the Smoked S'more Old Fashioned and Steve smoked it right at my table. Cool to see the process. Probably the best Old Fashioned I've ever had. I also had the Part Time Lover cocktail and that was refreshing and delicious. I can't wait to try this whole menu. Really cool space. Amazing decor for the holidays. Themed for the movie "Elf". Really fun! Holiday movies playing in the background. Best holiday pop up I've been to. Really great vibe here and cool place to hang out.

A time was had at Side Hustle Lounge! The bartender was amazing, her candor and conversation is legit unmatched. The welcoming energy of the other customers also made this a great visit! We happened upon happy hour when visiting and opted to take advantage by ordering: the honey bubble, steak tips, shrimp risotto, and garlic knots. The drink was so light and crisp, perfect for quenching a summer thirst! Each food item was perfect for sharing, full of flavor and just the right portion. The bar was quite extensive and seating plentiful to include bar and patio seating. Not sure about parking as we arrived by rideshare. We were headed to a concert and this was the perfect stop before!

I love the decor of this place! Side Hustle is a special find while walking winning a blinding blizzard Brandon was so kind and welcoming me and so was Billie who slinked over from the other side. They serve the same items as they do in the restaurant without any of the sit-down-and-order-kind-of-fuss. The meatballs need to go into your mouth as they are well made and plentiful. I also trust Brandon with whatever wine he recommends. Brandon makes this place special and is so fun to talk to - this charisma makes me stop and go into Side Hustle when I'm walking in Detroit! We will be back!

Decided to stop by for a quick drink New Year's Eve and ended up staying for several hours. Been walking by for months but hadn't stopped in. The bartenders and staff were extremely friendly and talkative which was great. You can order pizza from next door so we got the garlic knots which are amazing and several well executed drinks. Small place but great atmosphere and will definitely be back.

We had such a great time visiting this spot! It's located next to Mootz pizza and has the same owners. It was quiet and empty when we first arrived. We absolutely love the 70s vibe! They had a great happy hour and we love happy hour! Our bartender was fabulous! We didn't try the food but they have some great happy hour options. I would absolutely recommend checking it out!

Held a private event in the lounge for ~100 people in September 2024. Great layout with indoor/outdoor space. Steve and Brandon were behind the bar and kept the great food and drinks flowing. They were attentive, accommodating, friendly, and just awesome at their jobs. It was a seamless experience and I wouldn't hesitate to hold another event here in the future.

Cool place, good location to drink, meet with to friends or a low key date. Service was good, I didn't try the food but maybe next time. I had the lavender lemon drop and it was delicious. 3 drinks @ 41 dollars. Prepare to find a park somewhere. The place was empty but it was a Sunday and we were looking for a new place for our date night. I will give it another shot.

Went back after watching the Jazz festival and met one of the owners who was super nice and personable. Thanks again guys and see you soon
