Orange County’s Popular Sidecar Doughnuts to Open in Torrance on September 23 | Eater LA

"Opened September 23 in Torrance’s Rolling Hills Plaza, this bright, airy sweets shop is part of an Orange County–based chain that began in 2012 and also has locations in Del Mar, Santa Monica, and Costa Mesa. The menu mirrors other outposts, focusing on signature cake doughnuts—notably huckleberry and salt-and-butter—along with seasonal specialties and chef collaborations; doughnuts are fried in small batches on the hour so fritters are almost always warm throughout the day. The shop also brews coffee and espresso from Common Room Roasters. Designed by Fleetwood Fernandez Architects, the interior evokes a doughnut factory with full views of the doughnut-making process, and a vintage sidecar mounted on the exterior wall nods to Torrance’s automotive history. Hours are Sunday–Thursday 6:30 a.m.–6 p.m. and Friday–Saturday 6:30 a.m.–9 p.m." - Cathy Chaplin

Google
Donuts have been a passion (my wife would probably say obsession) of mine since early childhood. So when in Rome…..well in this case California. Sidecar have locations throughout California (and probably beyond but I’m here for the donuts not a geography lesson) but we stopped at the one in Rolling hills, Torrance. The selection is good but not mind numbingly enormous so making your choice doesn’t take 2 weeks. The prices are reasonable compared to the U.K. (£5-6 in the U.K. for an “artisan” donut compared to £2.50-3 here). The Huckleberry was delicious and the chocolate donut was crispy on the outside but moist and almost gooey on the inside. For me the standout was the maple and bacon. I’m not a big fan of savoury/sweet combinations but this works so well. Maple bacon is weakness of mine anyway so sticking it on a donut seems the next step in evolution. Check Sidecar out for delicious donuts and coffee. Definitely in my top 5 donut shops worldwide (but I haven’t visited them all yet so that may change over time!)

Google
I used to go to Sidecar Donut in Santa Monica every month! What an amazing donut, nowhere I have tasted better donuts. In 2020 I’ve moved out California and eveyday I missed this place. Last month I went back to California, after 5 years od moving away, and I HAD to have Sidecar Donuts. You can’t go wrong with any flavor you order, but my favorite still the cinnamon one. Basic but delicious!!! I hope they grow more and more and spread out all over the USA, so I can have a chance to have them again one day. If you are in California, just go get some, any of their locations the donuts will be worthy!

Google
Finally got to try these donuts. Located in a nice plaza with plenty of free self parking. Staff is very welcoming. There's some indoor seating and there's also a couple of outside patio seating. There's lots of donut options including two gluten free in case if that's what you need. It's a bit pricey imo. It feels similar to Crumbl cookies in the sense that they change their menu to keep you returning for new and limited time flavors.

Google
Made it a point to visit here on our trip to the LA area. Absolutely delicious donuts and excelente coffee options. My husband still talks about their drinks.

Google
Their doughnuts are consistently fresh. I love their seasonal ones. The bourbon pecan one is melt in your mouth after heating it up. The apple fritter and maple bacon have always been my go to. I always make it a habit to stop by when I’m in town. There’s literally nothing like Sidecar in other parts of country. Check them out if you can.

Google
Not your average donut cafe. This place is unmatched in service, kindness, energy and product. It’s easy to be a regular when the quality in product matches their service. They even have vegan and gluten free options. If you haven’t tried this place yet you should definitely treat yourself it’s so fresh and so delicious☺️. One of my favorite places that I indulge in with my pups.

Google
All of a sudden I was craving some donuts. I came across Sidecar Donuts and heard too things about it. It just happened to be across the street of where I was. There are lots of unique flavors. Seems like everyone orders the Huckleberry because it was running out quicker. I ordered the Huckleberry, Saigon Cinnamon and Strawberry Buttermilk. Both Huckleberry and Saigon Cinnamon were 10/10. I love that the donuts aren't too sweet and the Saigon cinnamon tasted like coffee cake and I love coffee cake. The shops small, most people get it to go and there are plenty of parking in the shopping mall

Google
Yes, these are definitely the best donuts in the world. Even the most boring donut is the most delicious donut I’ve ever tasted in your life. Good job guys making those donuts. This is another first stop after returning from Europe. The coffee is strong and delicious as well. I wish I could go back more often, but I save it for maybe a few times a year. If you buy 12 donuts, you get one extra that’s why it’s called sidecar.

Yelp
Dear YELP Diary, It's been so long since I've visited Sidecar Donuts and Coffee. I am sure the donuts are still quite delicious. I cant wait to see the new lineup. Oh I forgot what about the coffee. What will this week's lineup up look like? Hmm, the donuts.... I wonder will there be chocolate covered, candy coated, flavory savory, raspberry dusted or cream filled donuts. Who knows?!!? With Sidecar Doughnuts and Bakery the possibilities are endless. Today's order The Apple Pan Pie! Okay, let's start with how this glazed donut is stacked with icing!!!!! There are layers to this, and they did not skimp one bit. First the foundation- a brioche BULLSEYE donut covered in a vanilla glaze, cant forget this - Apple Pie compote. The goodness gracious in the Apple Pie compote. Oh my goodness, oh my gracious!! The flavor is spot on!! Let it whip!! The whipped cream, truly amazing... the caramel drizzle a beautiful touch for additional sweetness, and the grand finale- the homemade pie crust crumble.. This is really good, I mean as good as it gets!!! Thats it, a perfect ending to close out my diary. Until next time...

Yelp
I had to leave this review because the service I received at Sidecar Donuts truly stood out. Jasmine greeted me with genuine kindness, and David went above and beyond when I was delayed before closing with an ETA of 45 minutes due to traffic. Even though I had to travel across town, he still made sure I was taken care of. Both were very kind and accommodating, which made the experience unforgettable. Their professionalism and care left a lasting impression. I've hosted several events, business meetings, and brunch parties, and Sidecar Donuts has become my go‑to location. I actually live just blocks away from the Manhattan Beach store, but I'll happily drive past it--because loyalty tastes better than convenience. Grateful for their service--this is customer care done gloriously. And let's be honest, donuts this good are worth a little traffic therapy.

Yelp
I stopped here on a weekday late morning for coffee and donuts. I've loved Sidecar's Costa Mesa location for years so was surprised to be disappointed at this location. The options were already slim at 11am, but several choices were available. I chose an old-fashioned and a bourbon pecan pie. I also purchased a hot vanilla latte. There is a counter inside if you care to stand and consume your purchase but I decided to chow down in my car. The old-fashioned was dense and had a very light coating of that slightly crunchy glaze that you find thickly covering the old-fashioned donuts you get at mom & pop donut shops. It was okay but, as I ate it, I thought that, given the choice, I'd rather be having a better one from one of those old-time donut shops. The soft-cake bourbon pecan pie donut had a light icing and a center of sweet pieces of pecan that truly did taste like pecan pie. I did like that one. The vanilla latte tasted like a cup of hot water; completely flavorless and it was thrown away after a couple sips. Maybe I just chose the wrong flavors. Insert sad face emoji here.

Yelp
No trip to California is complete until you've stopped at sidecar donuts to pick up a doughnut. The service is great and on different days you can get different specialty donuts. These donuts truly are the best part of my day. Other than of course, waking up next to my lovely wife every day...

Yelp
Sidecar is my all time favorite donut place. I've been going to side car since the beginning of time. I remember when they were doing free samples out of their truck before their brick and mortar place opened. Service is always great, taste is always delicious! There hasn't been a donut I've had from sidecar that I've hated. My daughter loves the maple bacon and huckleberry. I will always love cinnamon crumb and maybe butter and salt is a close second. If you haven't been to sidecar give them a try. You won't regret it.

Yelp
Sidecar Doughnuts are the absolute best! "The World's Freshest Doughnuts!" This location in the Rolling Hills Plaza. It's in the next building over from Trader Joe's. I love the cute little Sidecar displayed out near the patio under the pink glazed doughnut mural! My all time favorite doughnut is Huckleberry. It is a special doughnut despite being on their daily menu. I usually get that one and try their special seasonal doughnuts. I got their Honey Butter Jalapeno Corncake and Peach Cobbler Malasada. Malasadas are available only on Mondays. They had a Dubai Chocolate Malasada that was pretty good, just a bit on the rich side. I'm usually not a fan of Old Fashion Doughnuts, but Sidecar makes a very good one! There's a lot of love, attention to detail, and fresh ingredients that go into these doughnuts! I've been to 3 different locations and have received the same quality and consistent doughnuts! My husband does not generally consume doughnuts, but he will eat these! I think he looks forward to the seasonal doughnuts as much as I do! We don't usually choose Vegan anything, but Sidecar has made some good ones like the Vegan Smoked Chocolate Pretzel Doughnut that was really exceptional! My favorite thing to see when I come here is the replenishing of empty doughnut spots with freshly made doughnuts! The Peach Cobbler Malasada I got had just been placed on the tray! Can't get much fresher than that!! Service is friendly and efficient. The staff makes a concerted effort to ensure you are able to get the doughnut(s) you want. Be sure you join their Loyalty Program! Sidecar will send Promotions through the App!! I think you get a free doughnut for signing up! I have been here too many times and plan on returning again! Can't wait to see what new flavors they come up with next!

Yelp
We stopped by Sidecar Doughnuts after a visit to Trader Joe's since it was right in the area. So glad that we did! They have a great variety of flavors to choose from, and everything looked so delicious it was hard to just pick a few. We ended up ordering more than we anticipated! I loved the old-fashioned doughnuts. Honestly, they all tasted amazing! I also ordered a Banana Bread latte and was so so yummy! Who knew a banana-flavored coffee would be such a delicious combination! The crunchiness of the nuts with the slight sweetness of the coffee flavor was the perfect treat on a hot summer day. Everything was made to order, but the staff was super friendly and quick with our drinks and doughnut order. Happy Eating!

Yelp
My husband and I stopped into Sidecar today (as we do every weekend). I was able to get the delicious Honey Jalapeño Cornbread Doughnut. I absolutely LOVE this latest creation! I get it each time I go into Sidecar ... until they stop making it which might be end of August?! Always great selections and always delicious. Today I was helped by Lydia ... so pleasant and personable. Total pleasure. Nice music in the background and always friendly employees. Thank you!

Yelp
Bright happy people working here! Place my order via Yelp. Needed 50 donuts. got 4 - Best of 12 & 2- Best of 6. It took them about 40 min to get the order ready & I see why. Each fresh donut was place in the box with care. A feast for the eyes and taste palette. If you're lucky, you would get the fresh egg Benedict doughnut they made it outside in !!
google avatar

Sunnie M.

Yelp
Excellent customer service! We enjoyed the samples and then got a maple bacon donut. The bacon was cooked perfectly!
google avatar

Alyssa P.

Yelp
Unique flavors and quick service! It was my first time visiting and there's so many different flavors along with seasonal picks. Donuts themselves are delicious as well as pretty. They also have vegan options as well. The place presents itself as an upscale donut shop, which is very much is.
google avatar

Pam L.

Yelp
A new favorite of the LA donut shops. They always have a ton of flavors and their seasonal is always worth trying. My recent favorite was their olive oil cake one which was citrusy and not too sweet.
google avatar

Liam R.

Yelp
Phenomenal donuts baked fresh throughout the day! Love the signature Huckleberry donuts but truly feel like you can't go wrong with the options here, including the unique seasonal options. While they are a bit pricey, these gourmet donuts are top notch quality and flavor, deserving of the splurge. Hands down my absolute favorite donuts. Service at this location is always friendly and efficient. Sidecar has a wonderful culture of warmth, and it's a great experience dropping by each time -- shout-out to the awesome team members at this store that go above and beyond for the customers. The shop is bright, clean, and modern with a few bar-style indoor seats for those looking to enjoy your donuts and beverages on site. There is ample parking in the shopping area, conveniently located close to other shops and restaurants.

Yelp
I went to Sidecar when it first opened and I thought the doughnuts were very good but I was not a big fan of cake doughnuts. However, I took a friend here as it was her first time in LA, and I loved the doughnut and coffee. We got the Huckleberry Doughnut and I ordered a Vanilla Latte extra sweet. The doughnut was moist and super flavorful. My favorite was the vanilla latte! It was probably one of the best lattes I've had in a while. The staff that helped us were super sweet. He gave us the perfection recommendations!
google avatar

Anber F.

Yelp
Stopped by Sidecar Donuts around 7pm there weren't too many options left (totally understandable that late in the day), but what they did have was still delicious. The staff was really friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even better. I'll definitely try to come earlier next time for the full selection

Yelp
First time at this place and it was delicious. Feels like the donuts were just made a few minutes before I ordered it. It was so fresh. What really got me excited was that they had two different donuts chopped up into small samples for you to just grab and try. I tried the huckleberry to start and was hooked immediately. It wasn't overly sweet and the texture was on point. Then tried a sample of the cookies and cream and it was okay, texture was good, but the taste was as impressive as the huckleberry. It didn't feel like they had a ton of options, but they had a good range of flavors and different types for the little bit that was there. Also ordered a Vietnamese cold brew coffee to go with my donut. Substituted the milk for almond milk and added a little bit extra condensed milk. Because they don't make their coffee is too sweet which I think is pretty pretty awesome but I did need a little bit extra. They have a little bar stool area to sit where you can enjoy your coffee and donuts. I didn't sign up for the reward system, but if you're gonna be a regular might wanna do that to take advantage.
google avatar

Peter H.

Yelp
Got their seasonal strawberry buttermilk cake donut. I don't normally eat cake donuts but this one was good. Everyone was very friendly and even helped us with some samples. The only thing I cannot justify on a regular basis is the price of the donuts, but for once in a while, why not!?
google avatar

Chelsea B.

Yelp
The huckleberry donut was soooo good! It had complex flavors for a donut. Sweet but tart in some bites. Service was great very informative and helpful. They also have a variety of samples. There's indoor high table seating and outdoor patio.

Yelp
Second time visiting Sidecar Doughnuts this year and some might say I'm an addict now. I appreciate the spacious, shared plaza parking lot and the slightly larger store, compared to the Pasadena location. I ordered my doughnuts through their app and my order was prepared on time. The Banana Bread Latte was delicious despite not being much of a coffee person. It has hints of banana bread and walnut which really impressed me because of its unique taste. Highly recommend giving this a try! As for the doughnuts, of course I had to get the Butter and Salt. The salty doughnut in contrast to their sweeter options is exactly what I need. I tried some new doughnuts this time and my favorite was their seasonal - Chocolate Chunk Cookie Dough. The doughnut was chewy like mochi! I want more! The cookie dough was delicious with the crème fraîche on top. This was a huge crowd pleaser amongst my family. The Torrance location has more options for seasonal doughnuts if anyone was curious. Another seasonal doughnut I tried was the Dulce de Leche Churro. Cinnamon galore! A non-seasonal donut that can do no wrong is the Cookies & Creme. It tasted like a chocolate Oreo cake in a donut form. Ordering on the app can have it's perks too because of the occasional coupons if you just signed up!

Yelp
Sidecar Dougnuts is probably my favorite donut spot in LA. I'm not usually one for old-fashioned donuts but WOW, their donuts are super fresh and tasty. They always have new, unique flavors to try, and their app is great for collecting reward points. Their packaging is also so beautiful. The donut that I always come back to is the Huckleberry. I love the tart huckleberry with the sweet, fluffy batter. Definitely my favorite. Another outstanding donut is the Passionfruit Pavlova. That donut was sold for a limited time, but I really hope they bring it back in the summer. The passionfruit filling was absolutely to die for. My third favorite donut is the salted chocolate pistachio. I don't normally go for chocolate desserts, but this donut was molten chocolatey perfection! It's super rich, so must consume in small doses. All of their donuts are phenomenal or at least worth trying once (cannoli malasada)!

Yelp
Update review: I was able to revisit the Sidecar Doughnuts & Coffee in Torrance and WHAT A BIG DIFFERENCE!!!! I had a wonderful experience and NO FLIES! I would definitely recommend a visit there : )

Yelp
Tucked into the middle of the Rolling Hills Plaza sits a small, friendly cafe that features a unique variety of doughnuts along with coffee and teas. As of October 2024, the featured doughnut flavors were: * Huckleberry, * Butter and Salt, * Old Fashion, * Saigon Cinnamon Crumb, * Celebration Cake, * Lemon Pound Cake, * Salted Chocolate Pistachio, * Choc-A-Lot, * Vegan Raspberry Thumbprint, * Gluten Friendly, * Spiced Tiramisu (their special flavor) The doughnuts looked amazing, see the pictures! And the fact they offered gluten free options for those who may need it due to dietary restrictions is wonderful. I asked for a plain doughnut with no icing, and they were completely accommodating, and got me a fresh, hot doughnut that had just been made. They also have a variety of hot and cold drinks. The barista asked me step by step how I wanted my Matcha Tea Latte--hot or iced, dairy or non-dairy milk, sweeter or plain--and asked me to try it to make sure I was satisfied, offering to make any changes to make sure I was satisfied. Now, for the quality... The doughnut was still hot from being so fresh. The inside was soft and moist, and had a wonderful cake-like flavor that felt like a warm hug in your mouth. The matcha latte was very well made and had just the right amount of sweetness. A lot of times it's hard to attain the balance between matcha's slight bitterness or over sweetening it to the point of losing flavor. The barista hit the sweet spot and made this a very refreshing latte to enjoy with my doughnut. This was my first time, but with such friendly staff and fresh, hot food, I will make sure I visit again in the future!

Yelp
I've been to the Manhattan location but this location is closer to me! Came back for the maple bacon donut and it did not disappoint, loved the savory and sweet in each bite. Also ordered their seasonal strawberry donut and regular vanilla glazed donut. Paired my donuts with iced matcha latte with oat milk and it was a perfect breakfast. Inside is very clean and welcoming. I loved the plants hanging above the windows. Service was great, she l packed my order and made my drink as well. They even had samples above the donuts for customers to try which was great. Sad they didn't have the egg benedict at 10am, was looking forward to trying it. Oh well, next time

Wasima K.

Yelp
While I really enjoy Sidecar Doughnuts, I do not have one in my neighborhood. If I am in an area that has one, and it's open, I usually stop in. However, when they have their seasonal Passionfruit Pavlova, I make a special trip (sometimes twice) to enjoy them. It is such an exquisite flavor. The day I went to pick them up, was a hot day, and I was already tired from having been out prior to going. When I walked in, they told me the doughnuts would be ready in 15 minutes. I decided to do some shopping and come back. When I came back, they still were ot ready. Apparently there was an issue with the dough rising and it was taking longer than usual. I decided to wait in store. The staff over there were very gracious while I waited and handled the whole experience so great. I was extremely impressed at how well the shop was managed. Needless to say, the pavlovas, washed down with passion fruit spritzer, was everything and more. Totally worth waiting for!

Yelp
FREE BREWED COFFEE WITH CHECK IN My girlfriend loves the donuts here. They are more cake like and less doughy. Not my preference but I don't mind because I get a free black coffee when we go here. She usually gets the celebration cake. It's not too sweet but it does it for her. If I do end up getting donuts the maple bacon or butter and salt one is my go to.
google avatar

Lyn N.

Yelp
I was excited to stop by and find out how good their donuts are! I saw their Yelp page and glad to come across this place when I was in the area. It's located in the same area as Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. Small, but mighty building. There were plenty of employees to handle the crowds. They are efficient and quick with their service. I'm glad I looked at their menu ahead of time so I don't stumble when it was my turn to order. I'd didnt want to be the person that holds up the line because of my indecisiveness.
google avatar

Heidi H.

Yelp
Wow! Good doughnuts. Made fresh and daily specials except Thursdays are a bit different. Malassadas on Monday. All seem so nice and colorful. We did not try the drinks. Parking lot was not filled go check them out.
google avatar

Kari T.

Yelp
The blueberry and huckleberry donuts are my favorites. Service is fast and friendly and they usually have some kind of check in deal which is nice. My favorite place to splurge on good donuts. They're very filling!
google avatar

Zeeshan Q.

Yelp
Sidecar offers a great selection of gourmet donuts at a solid price point. Some of my favorites include the huckleberry, choc-a-lot, and the Saigon cinnamon crumb. I wasn't a big fan of the butter and salt though. I recommend eating them fresh or warming them up a bit if you eat them a day or so later. Well worth a visit!
google avatar

Yelp
Great service smells amazing when you enter staff was super inviting especially david and Ivan. They cut up samples before I made my purchase. It made it easy for me to decide.

Yelp
Overpriced, Long Lines, But Worth It!!!! Just an FYI, some seasonal donuts are hit and miss. Wasn't a fan of the "I Think" Mint Chip one.
google avatar

JaeKiko R.

Yelp
Amazing sidecar team never disappoints, always great food, drinks service and atmosphere. We love the vibe here! Keeps us coming back. If my pups could write a review they agree they recognize the side car box when I bring it home.
google avatar

Eddie O.

Yelp
I was glad to finally try Sidecar donuts as had heard about the popularity. Unfortunately, for me the texture is not my preference. We tried several and while they were tasty it is a rather dense and heavy donut. I prefer a more fluffy and lighter weight texture like a Krispy crème. The staff and associates at the store were really polite and hospitable and don't want to take away that the service was very good. Just not a fan of this type of donut.
google avatar

Tm G.

Yelp
These are the best donuts in LA! Always right out of the oven and unique flavors. I always get the 12 pack and mix it up. Perfect treat to bring to any event, and people always love them.
google avatar

Ryan G.

Yelp
My wife, son, and I frequent this location after we grocery shop and it's usually a good experience. Every month, we always come to sidecar donuts when the huckleberry drops are available! Today was donut day and there were no drops available sadly. I asked the workers, they said there weren't BUT a gentleman named Ivan said if we would wait, he would start a batch for us. I saw the whole process, it's not as easy as I thought, it took about 10-15 minutes, and he got it done. Amazing service from Ivan. He could've easily said sorry we don't have it and moved on but he went the extra mile to take care of us! Thanks Ivan!
google avatar

Jenn C.

Yelp
I've always loved the Santa Monica location, so I was excited to find one while I was in the area for work. The flavors are just as good here--unique, fresh, and worth the price tag every time. The shop is bright and welcoming, and the staff are quick and friendly. Plenty of parking makes it easy to pop in without the usual stress. If you're into doughnuts that taste like a treat rather than an afterthought, this spot delivers.

Yelp
sidecar, one of my favorite donut shops! they offer once a week treats, i hear the apple fritters are very popular on fridays! stopped in on the wknd to pick up a few donuts it was almost closing, so grabbed what they had i have come the conclusion that any flavor donuts here, are amazing!! box of 5: seasonal bullseye (Passionfruit Pavlova), strawberry buttermilk, old fashion, celebration cake, coconut service was great left happy and drooling until i got home to have a donut parking: located in the rolling hills plaza, adjacent to trader joe's, right next door to chase. plenty of parking.
google avatar

Joel J.

Yelp
Doughnuts galore! Upon walking in a collection of epic doughnuts! I chose the one which popped, the parfait select. Airy, yummy, granola goodness. Try it, just take a bite. Friendly crew, they offer samples. Sweet location, across Trader Joe's and loved the classic sidecar outside! Next time, I'm hopping in. Don't skip they're matcha latte too, it's matcha-rrific!!! Peace & eat a donut.
google avatar

Jessica P.

Yelp
I saw this place on my Instagram timeline and it looked really good. I was mostly excited to try the new strawberry matcha items but I was disappointed. The Strawberry Matcha Latte (not pictured) wasn't good at all. I'd recommend you pass on this and try other drinks on the menu. I got three different donuts: 1) Huckleberry (7/10) too sweet but the only one that had the most flavor 2) Strawberry Matcha Doughnut (6/10) not what I expected, you couldn't taste the matcha 3) Butter and Salt (5/10) plain donut
google avatar

Dhanushree P.

Yelp
My husband got me this as a surprise on a Sunday morning, right off the bat, the packaging is great! The celebration donut was marvellous with perfectly balanced flavors! Not too sweet! The chai latte on the other hand was way too sweet! I couldn't taste the chai, I could only taste sugar. I would still recommend this place though!
google avatar

Lauren T.

Yelp
Such a cute, aesthetic little donut/coffee shop. It's mostly a pick up & go, and there's only a small table outside. The workers are all very friendly & helpful :) I actually got my coffee & donut for free by downloading the app! The reward appeared a few minutes after signing up. I preordered both, and when I arrived the worker made my coffee fresh. I decided to also buy another donut for my sister while waiting. The huckleberry donut was so different from other donuts I've tried. The outside was crispy & the inside was moist & flavorful. The inside of it actually kind of resembled a blueberry muffin & had actual berry pieces in it. I also ordered the hot caramel latte which was alright. It was definitely strong, but was lacking sweetness-- which I love in my coffee. My mom tried the black onyx mocha, which I preferred. They also have a lot of seasonal donut flavors available! Overall, this place was good but it is expensive! A donut is around $5-6. Although it is a larger donut, I thought that this price was pretty steep. The ingredients do seem very fresh though & the quality is great!

Yelp
Tried Sidecar for the first time for breakfast and was impressed! Service was great and the workers were helpful. The worker suggested the seasonal flavor, "Love and Salt", which is a brown sugar cake donut topped with brown sugar pudding glaze, cacao nibs & Maldon sea salt. It was so yummy! The donut was not greasy at all. The texture was very similar to Randy's donuts. Would recommend trying to before they don't have that one anymore! I got the hot matcha latte. The matcha was good quality. You have the option to sweeten it with lavender, vanilla or honey. I chose lavender. Can't wait to come back! Next time I'll definitely want to try the Huckleberry donut.

Yelp
They're good but not worth the price in my opinion. We paid like $50 for less than a dozen donuts.

Yelp
10/10 donuts every single time!! I don't even know what a huckleberry is but that flavor donut is my absolute favorite. Donuts are always moist & I enjoy trying their unique seasonal flavors!

Yelp
Per the owner-created blurb on the Google Maps listing for this business as of January 13, 2024: "...Our doughnuts are fried in small batches every hour, guaranteeing each customer a fresh and warm treat. Flavor selection changes monthly, with a weekly Gluten Free option that changes every Monday."" This is straight up false advertising. I visited today and asked if the gluten-"friendly" donuts were cooked first. I was told they're not, they're cooked in the same gluten-containing oil as the rest of the donuts and are completely cross contaminated at every step of the manufacturing process. How did I end up here you may ask. Today I got off a cruise and realised I was near a restaurant I had saved based off the recommendation from a gluten-free group - Sidecar Doughnuts. On Google Maps, "gluten-free" is mentioned in many reviews because Sidecar goes out of their way to highlight their gluten-"friendly" donuts. 100% of the donuts are fried in gluten-containing oil. Oil to cook a donut is a non-negotiable ingredient for fried donuts. You cannot eat raw donut batter. Oil that has flour in it - for whatever reason - isn't gluten-free, regardless of what idiotic term a US-based business calls their product. Businesses trying to capitalise off of celiac wording while not offering a single safe option for celiacs is absurd that NO other disability group would accept. Would people who use a wheelchair be okay with a business advertising itself as "wheelchair-friendly" and yet it only offers escalators, simply because they'd like to market that they technically don't have stairs? No! Would people with alpha gal syndrome be okay with foods marked as "vegan friendly" but the oil is used to fry beef sausages as well as their vegan sausages, simply because they'd like to market to people who love animals? No! Celiac disease is a serious, life-long disability with the only treatment eating 100% gluten-free. Either we Celiacs start holding businesses and non-celiacs falsely amplifying these claims accountable, or we enable our own demise. Sitting back and saying nothing encourages false advertising that leaves us celiacs unable to safely eat. What is the point of even mentioning gluten-friendly, low-gluten, gluten-free or any other term that is trying to advertise to people who are looking to find foods that don't contain gluten if your product contains gluten? Either offer a safe product or stop falsely advertising your products as gluten-friendly/free/lite/etc. Nobody is forced to offer gluten-free options, so if you can't offer safe food, leave our terminology out of your marketing. Yelp
I love a good donut and I have to say this is probably the best donut I've ever had. The butter and salt, when it is fresh and warm just melts in your mouth. The huckleberry was also divine. Both of them weren't too sweet and the butter and salt had that saltiness to it as well. Yum! Every month they have special flavors that I'm excited to try. My only complaint is the vegan was not something I'd get again, the texture was off to me
