Despite a day off from work, I specifically drove to Woodinville for a first visit to Sidekick Coffee (1/2/23). I wanted to spend some me time reading while enjoying a mocha and a baked treat.
I was able to find nearby street parking and clearly this is a well established and popular destination in the midst of a business and residential district. There were also a handful of adjacent restaurants, hence the constant pedestrian volume.
The cafe was hopping and I observed constant foot traffic with folks enjoying good convo, coffee, and treats whether seated indoors or outdoors. Also, they have a convenient outdoor takeout window.
No surprise here. Variety of available seating configurations. Lots of natural light at the window counter by the entrance. Interesting selection of beverages, baked goods, and merch. Great overhead music. Welcoming and efficient counter staff. My mocha was totally on point regarding temperature, flavor, and presentation. A Theo chocolate mocha! My baked treat was a delicious, chewy ginger molasses cookie. Both items were thoroughly savored.
I appreciated seeing an indie cafe that functions as a community gathering spot and it was a definitely lively start to the New Year. I was onsite for two hours and found the overall vibe enjoyable.
However, exercise caution at the entrance, especially on an inclement weather day. I don't know how this is fully ADA accessible with a downward step from the entrance. It would be a challenge if one had a stroller, walker, wheelchair, crutches, orthopedic boot, or having other mobility issues. Perhaps there is another entrance? Just an observation.
Enjoyed my visit, definitely recommended! Happy New Year - 2023 off to a great start!
