The Best Gifts From Every State in America

"Hailing from one of the most iconic wineries in Napa Valley, this gift set comes with three bottles of Silver Oak wine—a 2015, 2016, and 2017 Alexander Valley Cabernet. It's perfect for your next at-home wine night or dinner party."

"Silver Oak has long been lauded for its Cabernets–consistently selling out of its releases for years (the same goes for the Pinot Noirs and Sauvignon Blancs produced by tis sister winery, Twomey). Run by Vintner David Duncan, the absolutely gorgeous space is located in the center of the valley, in the middle of Oakville. The winery throws the biggest release-day parties of the year, a tradition (and category) cemented since the 1980's when wine enthusiasts started showing up the day of the release. This is an all-around beautiful, successful vineyard not to be missed. "

PG&E Employees Went Wine Tasting in Sonoma As Company Cut Power to Customers This Week - Eater SF

"Silver Oak Winery, founded in the Napa Valley, expanded in 2018 to its new Alexander Valley property in Sonoma. It is one of the region’s best-known winemakers, producing mostly cabernet. The winery's original location was the first LEED Platinum-certified winery in the world, and its new Alexander Valley property was the second, with 2,500 rooftop solar panels. These panels and backup generators have kept the Sonoma and Napa tasting rooms open during power outages." - Caleb Pershan

What a beautiful winery! We had a wine tasting reserved at 1pm on a Monday for a large group of 23, and David was the sommelier that walked us through the property, talked about the history and making of the wine here, and guided us the entire time we were there. We tried two Cabernet Sauvignon from Sonoma ($100 per bottle) and Napa Valley ($200 per bottle), in addition to an older bottle from 2013 which was around $285 per bottle. They also gave us a tasting of Sauvignon Blanc from their sister winery called Twomey. Our wine tasting came with meat and cheese, and the truffle cheese was divine. The weather was perfect to sit outside and enjoy the view and wine. As a parting gift, David gave each one of us a Silver Oak glass. This winery only produces Cabernet Sauvignon so keep that in mind if you don’t like red or a full-bodied wine, but otherwise, definitely recommend!

Google
Have been to Silver Oak a few times and everyone knows they produce amazing Cab Savs. This time we had Peggy as our gracious host and wow did she make the visit extra special. She was charming and funny and really knew her stuff about SO. We had a leisurely wonderful experience and she brought out some terrific library wines as a special treat. Of course we ended up buying six bottles!! Truly a great wine and experience…thank you Peggy!

Google
Excellent wine tour, the tour guide David was very nice helpful and knowledgeable. I recommend this location if you enjoy wine or wants to learn more about wines

Google
Silver Oak is a must hit spot. The wine is always good. I'm definitely a fan of the Napa valley but the Alexander valley is just as refreshing. I will be doing a revisit for the wine but also the food pairing. Shout-out to Quinn for the tour and tasting experience, phenomenal job!

Google
Silver Oak Napa Valley Winery offers an exceptional wine-tasting experience in a beautiful, modern setting. Known for their superb Cabernet Sauvignon, the wines are rich and flavorful, and the knowledgeable staff enhances the experience with their insights. The winery’s architecture and scenic views make it a perfect spot for wine lovers to relax and enjoy a memorable visit. Definitely worth a stop in Napa Valley! Quinn was very helpful and nice. They have 1 free Tesla charger and an other charger as well!

Google
We had no expectations and walked out with an amazing and memorable experience! It was an instant connection with David who was our wine sommelier or wine steward. He shared his extensive knowledge about the wines at Silver Oak, the making, the region, and much more. Additionally, we were happy to know that the top leadership nurtures the growth of all employees, and takes the time to get to know them. We were touched by this, and our huge round of applause to David Duncan for taking the opportunity to greet and meet his employees. David, is a humble and insightful gentleman with a wonderful disposition and is grateful and appreciative of the opportunities at Silver Oak. Jodie, the manager, I hope I spelled her name correctly, it was an honor to meet her. She too was a delightful person. Truly, she too sets the tone and a feeling of family with the team at SO.

Google
Great experience - wine was fantastic and the service was excellent. 100% recommend and if I am in Napa I will be back!

Google
I can't say enough great things about Silver Oak Alexander Valley cab and the staff. First off, we have problems with FedEx in our location, so delivery is very iffy. On 2 occasions I have had to call Silver Oak about the delivery. There are not enough super positive things I can't say about Ann and Ava, who have assisted me. They listen and make the calls that are necessary to get the wine delivered. Then you add to the great customer service with the outstanding wine. Perfection! I have been getting Alexander Valley cab for over 40 years and still enjoy the first sip I take each time I open a bottle. It brings back great memories of special occasions. Keep it up. Customer for life!

Yelp
This was probably my most favorite tour of Napa so far. The tasting was informative and David was knowledgeable but approachable and friendly. We asked a lot of questions and he answered with a fun chipper and really made us feel welcome. There was a very very loud table of 12 next to us, we just beared it (the other table in our area left because it was too noisy). Can't fault the place because there was a loud party but it did kill the vibe a bit. That said, we carried on and he took us on a tour of the stills and the barrels and really left us happy. The package we got had a few tastings but there were many extra pours and splashes throughout. The grounds are very pretty too...I imagine just to chill on a lawn chair in the summer...will come back to try that.

Yelp
Silver Oak Winery, always the place to visit when we find our way to God's Country N. Californians like me call Napa Valley Hospitality, oh yes, beyond expectation. Utterly divine Cabernet Sauvignon AV soft and full on your pallet. Words don't come close to the experience, the Oakville Vineyards view peaks at Silver Oak. Sipping and the sunset on a quiet hillside overlooking lush vines here will surely please all of those reading this now

Yelp
Silver Oak offers a fun yet refined tasting experience perfect for those who truly appreciate exceptional Cabernet. Our host, Tom, was knowledgeable and engaging, making the vertical tasting of the 2013 vs 2019 Alexander Valley and Napa Valley Cabernets both informative and enjoyable. We also sampled the 2020 Cabernet, which showed great potential, and their Timeless red blend--a standout with its depth and complexity. The wines are definitely on the higher end, but the experience, particularly for those who know their wines, is well worth it. A must-visit for any serious Napa enthusiast!

Yelp
We did a tour with Kay Nagel. Laughed the whole time. So much fun! If you want to book a great tour, please ask for Kay. She even sat down with us after the tour just to chit chat. Really made our experience awesome!
google avatar

Tairyn A.

Yelp
What can you say about Silver Oaks? It's amazing. I have had their wines many times and even did a vertical tasting with the oldest wine being 1995. I really like it, so needless to say I was stoked to be able to come to their winery. The tasting was a standing tasting, which consisted on us walking up to the counter and served a couple of glasses of wine. Nothing fancy or special, the girl talked to us quite a bit about the wine and other things about wine and Napa in general, but for the most part, we just had a chill time having our glass of wine and walking around the grounds for a little bit. And of course, getting the iconic picture with the tower in the background. The grounds are beautiful. The scenery is amazing no matter where you stand. You have a great view of everything. If you are in Napa, Silver Oaks is a must visit winery

Yelp
Amazing first NAPA visit but definitely not my last!!! Silver Oak winery was beautiful but what really sets apart was the hospitality and wonderful and helpful staff who were amazing and accommodating!!! 2019 Cabernet release party was soooo much fun but the Pizza!!! Amazing event and looking fwd to all future events!! Highly recommend and definitely a must if your planning a Napa trip!!!

Yelp
It was all great. Food the service - the ambiance was just fantastic We will be back to enjoy this experience again

Yelp
We had some amazing wines sitting on an amazing patio last weekend. Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly, and after our set three tastings she brought us two or three more specials tastings. A great way to compare the different vintages that Silver Oak has to offer.
google avatar

Alex A.

Yelp
Such an incredible experience. Tom showed us the gorgeous grounds and the wines. He was a professional and so knowledgeable. We had the most amazing time, Silver Oak will always have a special place in my heart thanks to our visit. I cannot wait to come back and bring more friends!!

Tyeshia T.

Yelp
This one one of my favorite stops on my wine tour. I would describe the property as timeless and beautiful. Everything is well kept. The staff was very knowledgeable but also friendly. They gave us a free wine glass which I thought was nice.

Yelp
Came here for the 50th anniversary release party, which was different from last year's release party. The event overall seemed quite oversold, as the lines were all long for the food and wine, and there were not enough tables/chairs for people. My friend who is a member said that last year the event was free for members ($200/pp for 2022), there weren't lines for the food, and it was open pour last year (this year you were provided 5 tokens and a special gold one for the library wine). If you lost your token, you were out of luck. I did enjoy the live music. Note that there were tables in the field if you can't find any spots inside the winery. There were golf carts/jeeps taking you from the Uber drop off to the winery, or you can walk there.

Yelp
We always try to stop at Silver Oak when we're in Napa. We have plenty at home but always nice to stop in the winery. We were rushing at the end of the day to get in to at least browse the swag and made it 15 minutes before closing so had no expectations. Walked in, told us they were cleaning up and tastings were over. The nice attendant set 2 glassed in front of us and poured a single tasting of Alexander Valley and Napa for us to share. We thanked her profusely and talked with her about our views/impressions of both. What a great experience and so thankful for their customer attitude and service to cap off a brief stay in Napa to end the year!

Yelp
Next stop on my Napa trip was Silver Oak. The property was super nice and modern. It looked amazing, I would love to have an event here if I ever had the money (lol). I made sure to make a reservation, but it was pretty empty, so it felt like I had the place to myself. I would definitely ensure to make a reservation, there were signs that said that they only take reservations. I tried the tasting flight and it was delicious!! One of my favorite wineries in Napa. Huge shout out to our wine educator, Balkis. She knew so much about the wines and gave me tons of information. (Everyone that works at the wineries in Napa are SO nice! Must be the wine. LOL). She even gave us a couple of additional tasting based upon what we discussed. I ended up buying a couple of bottles. I definitely think that they were reasonably priced. I would definitely make Silver Oak a stop on your wine tour.

Yelp
The first vintage wine shared with the love of my life back in 1993 was a 1987 Napa Valley SO. He proposed to me in the SO winery in 2013 in reception area with a 1987 double magnum and on one knee! We shared that bottle with family and close friends the night before our wedding in April 2014. We never miss a stop at SO whenever we visit the Valley and have enjoyed being members since. Nostalgic, to say the least.

Yelp
Absolutely enjoyed our visit to Silver Oak. It was a beautiful setting and exceeded our expectations in a seated tasting. We've done various tours and tastings around Napa and this is my favorite for sure. Kudos and thanks to our host, Mr. Greg Brown. He was outstanding. Knowledgeable, personable, fun and not the least bit pretentious. The wine was great and we really enjoyed being able to try the same vintage from Napa and Alexander Valley and then a different year from Alexander. Having all 3 at the same time is a GREAT way to smell and taste the difference. What a great experience. I highly recommend and I hope to be fortunate enough to return!

Yelp
We had this booked for 8 people for a friend's 40th birthday. The tour was informative and dry. We sampled three different Cabernets they produce. We all had our one favorite out of the three wines offered. Overall informative tour but not fun or engaging.

Yelp
We went to Silver Oak this past weekend to do a tasting based off of recommendations from family members and it did not disappoint! We got there pretty much right when they opened at 10:30am and walked around the property prior to going inside for our reserved tasting. I believe you do need a reservation to do a tasting here. We booked ours about a month in advance. We were seated at an individual table with our host, Sierra, who walked us through the different wines and history of Silver Oak. Sierra was extremely welcoming and friendly! Based on the wines we liked, she brought out additional pours to try. Our favorite was the 2013 Alexander Valley - it was the best wine we tasted our entire trip! They also have a gift shop with extremely reasonably priced items. We had a lovely experience and will definitely be back the next time we are in Napa!
google avatar

Mabel D.

Yelp
John's expertise and passion for wine at the winery were truly impressive. His knowledge enhanced our experience, making the visit both educational and enjoyable. Totally recommend!
google avatar

Lauren G.

Yelp
We arrived earlier than our reservation time but they let us in early. John was our host/server. He was an older gentleman but very nice and super wise on the wine industry and Silver Oak. He has been working there for over 20 years. He sat down at our table taught us about the wines we were drinking and the history of Silver Oak. We had plenty of wine in our tasting. The wines were phenomenal! You definitely have to be a red wine and cab lover though. I normally don't purchase super expensive wine but I bought a $135 2007 cab. It is exquisite! Reseller value is higher too. Definitely recommend on your next trip to Napa. Pros: service, value for how many wines you get, taste of wine Cons: wish we could have saw the property more, it looked beautiful
google avatar

Zachary C.

Yelp
Absolutely stunning building and landscape. The wines were incredible and decent selection of merch as well. Did a private tasting that certainly didn't disappoint. Will definitely be back.

Rayann R.

Yelp
What a joy it was to visit Silver Oak. The wines have been a long time favorite of ours, so we made this our first stop in Napa Valley. We weren't able to get a reservation for the verticals tasting, but enjoyed the counter tasting nonetheless. We arrived a bit early and appreciated the yummy Twomey Sauvignon Blanc as we waited. A return visit is in our future!

Ryan K.

Yelp
Quinn was such an amazing tour guide! Had such a great tour and loved the wine. Highly recommend.

Janet A.

Yelp
We enjoyed our wine signature comparative tasting and charcuterie board experience. Cathy was exceptionally knowledgeable and accommodating. It was very well planned and a delightful surprise. In comparison our executive estate wine tasting comparative experience at Chateau Montelena was markedly inferior.
google avatar

Rachelle R.

Yelp
I was a super fan for years! Until I can win for a tasting. Worst experience ever. We went here a while back and was being discriminated against with our service animal. They told us we needed to show proof of service animal certificate which does not exist. Had a birthday reservation and our friends surprised us with bottles they purchased as gifts. So the lady said we can get our gifts and leave but we can not do our wine tasting. Until I told her that this was unlawful and I would report them for discrimination that's when they decided we can come in which is an outside patio anyway?! Such a pretentious vineyard with pretentious staff. We have decided to go to Palmaz, Kenzo and Promontory. They have accommodated and exceptional service. Bonus is the wines are better than Silver Oak. We never went back since and never bought another bottle again.
google avatar

Gordon V.

Yelp
Excellent winery! Wine is amazing! We got the best service from David he was knowledgeable, friendly, outgoing, just a great guy to welcome us into this this winery, and he's a Bills fan like my husband. The group da are breathtaking, gorgeous views, roses adorn the property, beautiful architecture, and what a place to relax with a great glass of red wine! Cheers everyone if you get the chance I highly recommend making a reservation here.
google avatar

Yelp
Still the best. Just tasted the 2019 Napa Valley and Alexander Valley cabs, both lovely. Overall great vibe here.

Yelp
We had a wonderful group tasting with Peggy! She was fantastic and really made a memorable experience for us. The wines were excellent and the winery grounds were very nice

Yelp
Napa has changed, and unfortunately Silver Oak is another casualty. I've been visiting various wineries in Napa over the last 20 years and continue to see a steady decline which has been amplified by COVID. Silver Oak is one of the premium wineries in Napa Valley. They are in the Oakville region and produce both estate and Anderson Valley wines. There is decent parking on the property including some popular EV chargers. Wine tasting has changed over the years, so I had to make a reservation for a seated tasting on a busy spring Saturday. The estate is very attractive with great views of the vineyards and valley. Inside, the feel is very old world with dark stone rooms and high ceilings. I opted for the vertical Cabernet tasting which included tastes from 2012 to 2017. They were even accommodating with a Solo Red Cup for my spits! The overal tasting was just OK. I was seated in a large room with several other large groups. The tables and chairs are hard wood and rather uncomfortable for a long tasting. The hard surfaces in the room amplified the noise to more of a night club than intimate winery even with just a few guests. The wines were very good, however many of the wines were unavailable for purchase unless you want to buy giant bottles. One of the staff sat with me and gave me a good history of the winery and helped me with great service. Overall, Napa is hurting. Years of drought and fires have really hit the quality of the grapes. They are trying to use more tolerant varietals, but they just lack the traditional softer qualities of the Bordeaux grapes made famous by the region. The elites like Scarecrow and Screaming Eagle are also grabbing all the good stuff making even the fancier labels more and more average. Napa is also crowded and overpriced. There are equally fun options in Livermore, Lodi, and Amador with a better price point. Plus a lot of Oregon and Washington wines are nearing past Napa quality as well. Silver Oak is popular across the country with a good following and will likely satisfy the cravings of most visitors. There are better options in both Napa and other parts of California, but the winery is still a solid choice for your visit. Stick to the simple offerings and linger outside for the views!

Laura C.

Yelp
We went on a Sunday morning and it definitely worth getting up early. Our server, Janna was fantastic. She explained all of the wines we were tasting and even gave us some history about the winery. She gave us space to try and savor the wines. After the tasting, she showed us the tanks and the barrels. She also gave us some wine glasses as a parting gift. I'd definitely recommend this winery!
google avatar

Devin O.

Yelp
Amazing wine!! One of my favorite stops on our Napa tour. Very knowledgeable staff and excellent options!
google avatar

Kaelin N.

Yelp
We had reservations for 4 on a Tuesday afternoon for the Twomey Tasting. We checked in and briefly explored the gift shop. Greg was our server and he was absolutely amazing! He elevated our wine tasting experience. Anyone can pour wine, but not everyone can educate and give customers a great experience. Greg gave us information on each of the wines we tasted and we learned so much about Pinots (like aerating it for 1 hour) and Cabernets (grape skin!!!) It was super fun learning about the wines instead of just tasting it on our own. Our group wasn't all avid wine drinkers so it was a lot of fun learning as we go. Greg definitely made our wine tasting one of the best tasting experiences I've ever had. I would DEFINITELY come back and I would request Greg!
google avatar

Alisa C.

Yelp
We did a tasting here last fall and loved it! The wines are on the pricier side but the tasting prices are good. We did the lowest tier and got a few extra pours, not sure if that's just because we showed interest in the wine making experience? Overall excellent service and the views are great where we sat on the patio.
google avatar

Teri P.

Yelp
Thank you Silver Oak (Natalie) for a very enjoyable wine tasting: Alexander and Napa series. In our opinion, all of the wines were all excellent with a couple that were "over the top"! Natalie was a delight sharing with us valuable information on the wines with the right balance of conversation without being too pushy. She recommended the Silver Oak executive Chef (in-house) Food & Wine pairing; which we were so disappointed to miss! Added bonus: Natalie was raised in Napa Valley and obviously tuned into all things if you have questions. Truly a relaxing, enlightening experience. We have been purchasing Silver Oak for years and often for our Clients. We purchased some of their wines to take back to WA State. Always a crowd pleaser! We highly recommend seeking out Natalie and Silver Oak for a lovely wine tasting experience. Suffice to say, you won't be disappointed!
google avatar

Rachel L.

Yelp
Quinn here was cool. I appreciated her service. The building is also Platinum LEED certified, which makes me happy because I support going green.

Paul L.

Yelp
We went to five vineyards in two days and Silver Oak was the worst by far. Other vineyards were Frog's Leap, Caymus, Black Stallion, Stag's Leap Wine Cellar. Silver Oak had no interest in our business and didn't offer a discount for the tour if you purchased any wine - we didn't. Also they offered no military discount. Skip this place and boycott them.
google avatar

Dennis S.

Yelp
Really enjoyed the opportunity to side by side taste their Alexander Valley and Napa cabs, with a current version and an aged 2007 version of each. They were nice enough to throw in a taste of the 2012 Alexander Valley once it was clear that we preferred Alexander Valley to Napa. Attractive space, and the visit was educational, interesting and fun. It was extremely quiet early on a weekday. I knock them one star for weak service. Our host was very pleasant but clearly distracted and disappeared for long periods of time.
google avatar

John O.

Yelp
Our favorite visit of the day in Napa Valley. We had a blast! Beautiful property serving great wines. Hospitality was top notch from start to finish. Loved the tour of the wine making facilities. Ended up buying a bottle of Cab to take home as a souvenir.
google avatar

Rachel S.

Yelp
Our somm, Tom, was such a wonderful host. We traveled from New York, and he went out of his way to make us feel at home. As members of the wine industry ourselves, it was an absolute pleasure visiting.
google avatar

Ryan C.

Yelp
Had a great quick tasting and tour here. Our guide was very knowledgeable and gave us the history of the winery which has experienced fires and floods (who knew)? In addition to the history lesson she showed us their fermentation tanks and barrel aging room before taking us to their library full of an amazing collection of vintages. Silver Oak makes some great wines and sells previous years at a very reasonable price. Each year they add $5 to the cost of previous years and sell them till they're all g

Yelp
Excellent wines but formulaic, non memorable experience. Silver oak winery is a Napa stalwart. Its wines express what some of the high quality cabs the region has to offer. We booked a comparative tasting and the whole experience was a bit of let down. The wine tasting itself was fine but our wine hostess was somewhat patronizing and besides the four wines we tasted, the whole thing just feels like she was trying to close a wine sell, she didn't even ask whether we want to try more wines...which is fine, but at least make the experience interesting, fun and memorable...and she pointed out where to add the tip when we decided we would grab one of the Napa cabs. For a such great winery, it's a shame that the tasting experience was so devoid of attention and borderline boorish. We will still enjoy the wine, but we will pass on the tasting experience. There are far better wineries that still treat its visitors with care and making the experience a memorable one.

Danielle C.

Yelp
Brady was our host for the evening. He was so knowledgeable, welcoming and easy to talk to. He taught us so much about wine and the property was gorgeous. We throughly enjoyed our experience at Silver Oak but Brady went above and beyond. Thank you!

Yelp
Ok, for context, first time Napa human here. Napa is a fricking gorgeous magical place. Random share - Prior to kicking off our 4 vineyard Saturday extravaganza I judged those who traveled to Napa (too fancy, too expensive, too indulgent). Well, as I'm on my journey in connecting with all parts of myself... I realized those were defensive judgements to "not being good enough," and also became immediately aware that I'll be back to Napa for the sights and the people. Back to Silver Oak - it's a magical place. I think in the midst of COVID our set up outside for the tasting had even more magic. Yes, silver oak is beautiful and ... the remainder of this review is dedicated to John Cuneo (tasting room wise wizard). I like writing reviews because of the people I meet. I love hearing stories and feeling someone's presence with me. John is magic. He's served Silver Oak the past 20 years despite having a 3 hour commute. John spent quality time with Adrianna and I, educating us on everything from: - the grapes - the wine - building balance in ones daily life - the power of vulnerability - impact of ritual and holding the experience of trauma But on top of that, John reflected how happy he was working here for the last 20 years (another coworker was there 15). He shared about how it felt like a family and how supported he felt by Silver Oak. Major shout out to the Silver Oak team. Please note, I would like to see John's portrait in a beautiful framed shot in the hallway next time we visit, he is a wise wizard after all...

Yelp
While visiting Napa Valley we made reservations for Silver Oak, since we really like their Cabernet. Upon arrival for our tasting, we were quickly greeted and checked in.... they checked our temperature (Covid-related) and then advised us our wine educator would come get us. Our wine educator (we talked up a storm, but unfortunately I forgot her name) was AMAZING! She was very personable, friendly and knowledgeable. She filled us in on the history of this beautiful winery and the family that owns it. She also told us about Twomey (an offshoot of Silver Oak) and let us taste wines from Silver Oak and Twomey. As a result of her amazing customer service and education, we ended up joining the Twomey wine club. The grounds here are beautiful! The tasting room is one of the most beautiful we've visited in Napa. The building is all stone and unbelievable looking. The landscaping is very nicely done. Our tasting was in an outdoor, covered tent area, due to Covid, but it was comfy in there and the restrooms inside were very clean. Overall, this was a great visit and we look forward to all our membership brings, as well as returning the next time we're in Napa. We would highly recommend visiting this winery for a tasting!!

Yelp
greg brown is the best host every!!! He explained everything about the delicious wine and it's origins. He also explained the history of the winery and was just so nice and easy to talk to. He was also so funny! He's a great person.

Yelp
What a great experience!!! We've always wanted to come here. My husband and I decided to take our good friends here as we were just talking about it. When greeted we had to do a quick covid survey and get our temps checked. We were then brought to our table with Gabriel. They had the most beautiful set up with all the glasses, what each wine will be and bags for each of us with bread sticks, and pens. The sauv blanc was absolutely delicious, upon tasting that we knew that was one we were taking home. I really enjoyed the Merlot and Alexander cab. Gabriel was such a great host, he gave us a lot of information about the wine, and learned a bit about our pallets and let us try some other goodies. My husband and I want to definitely come back and do their vertical cab tasting. Everything we tried was phenomenal. We will return and we will request Gabriel! He was great!

Yelp
Got recommendations to head to Silver Oak on my first visit to Napa and I had never made it there. So I made sure to prioritize a visit on my second Napa trip! I'm glad I was able to make it there! I made a reservation in early February, a month out from our visit. I scheduled the $40 Silver Tour and Taste. We were there on a Sunday in early March and scheduled our visit after we had completed the Napa Valley Half Marathon. Our tasting was scheduled at 3pm which gave us enough time to finish the race, shower, eat lunch and head over. We got there a little early, which was great because the grounds are beautiful. After we checked in, the hostess gave us each a glass of Cab. My sister and I snapped pics of each other out front while sipping our wine before the tour started. It was a beautiful day out and the views are gorgeous! Our tour soon got started with two other couples. Bruce was our tour guide and he was nice and knowledgeable. We walked to a few different rooms, past a seated tasting room (I would have loved to just sit down there and relax!) and into the barrel room (my fave...I just love how it smells). As we walked, Bruce continued to pour us wines. He was very generous with the pours. At one point, I had to politely decline when he offered to refill my glass again (after all, I had to drive!). We walked outside for a bit, and also into the fermentation room. We ended our tour in a private area that has many old wines bottled (I loved seeing the one from 1988- the year I was born!). Overall, I really enjoyed the scenery, wine and Bruce. However, my only feedback is that this tour is all walking and no sitting whatsoever. Most tours I go on also include a seated tasting as well. Also, as I mentioned, my sister and I had ran the Half Marathon that morning. I ran it with an injury (which I later found out was a pelvic stress fracture. OW!). So you can imagine how much it impacted my experience with no sitting (and for the record, running a half marathon with a stress fracture makes me a total idiot). Just wish they had done the tour more quickly and then allowed us to sit in that tasting room. The tasting room was gorgeous and had so many windows all around. I felt like it was a missed opportunity. I would definitely go back and recommend it to others. Maybe next time, I will just do a seated tasting at the bar!

Yelp
This was our first stop of our 4 days Napa visit. This winery is beautiful as most in the region are, their wine is very good, especially the Silver Oak Napa Valley but I have to admit the Alexander Valley was very close to it. I was impressed by their grounds as we did a semi-private tour of the estate as well as the private cellar. One thing to point out is that they serve more than any other winery in town. Here are my rating to all visited wineries by alphabetical order, for details on each one look for my reviews: Services - Wine - Overall Alpha Omega 5 5 5 Darioush 5 5 5 Duckhorn 1 3 2 Hendry 5 4 4 Joseph Phelps 5 5 5+ Merryvale 5 4 5 Merus 5 5 5+ Ovid 5 5 5 Paraduxx 4 3 4 Rombauer 5 4 5+ Silver Oak 5 4 5 I surly recommend coming to this winery, since they pour so much I won't do it early in the morning, I rather come here as the last visit of the day and then go out eat and keep on partying!!!

Yelp
Always enjoy visiting Silver Oak, this time we brought a couple of friends from Tennessee and they were very impressed with their wines so they bought a couple of cases which the winery said that they would ship them to their house in Memphis.
