The coffee, latte was very well presented , waiter Will was very pleasant and knowledgeable of what’s available on the menu. Atmosphere very clean and the ambience decorated done right. However as we are waiting on our food ; notice two waiters eating off someone else plate to be served. This is unprofessional ! Keep an eye out when your food comes out.

The combination of friendly staff, a skilled bartender, delicious food, and a pleasant atmosphere makes this restaurant a must-visit. I'm already looking forward to my next meal here. The decor was tasteful, and the seating was comfortable, creating a relaxed environment that was perfect for dining out. Ah, try out a good bourbon. Bartender was helpful.

I had higher hopes based on the reviews and looking at the menu, and we were pretty disappointed. The ciabotta with ricotta was really good, the lamb meatball with pappardelle was too spicy and the meatballs were unseasoned. I had the winter salad and added grilled chicken. The chicken was flavorless and dry and my salad was drowned in a strong dressing. Service was light, had to flag down for anything, no follow up for refills on water, additional drinks, dessert, etc. The place wasn't busy and there seemed to be plenty of staff floating around so I'm not sure why there were issues. My last note is... This is another restaurant where the server is holding the machine for you to pay and enter the tip while they wait. I usually tip at the higher end, but it makes me uncomfortable and more so when service was below par.

Wonderful choice for breakfast or brunch. I had the blueberry buttermilk pancakes with scrambled eggs and bacon. It was yummy and satisfying to say the least. The blueberries were fresh, and the pancakes were light and fluffy. Would have liked the bacon to be a bit more crispy, but it was still very tasty. Service was friendly and accommodating. Will certainly be back.

This was my third time, I always liked the place before, but you won’t see me again. I ordered a glass of sparkling wine, it was my birthday. The waitress, Anna, brought a half filled glass. My husband then told her that this glass was quite empty and that it was my birthday, and that my previous time here I did receive a normally filled glass, to which she replied that management had reviewed the portions and that this was 5oz. I googled 5oz, which is a normally filled glass, I received less. So what are the consequences? I didn’t order a 2nd one, Anna did not receive a tip and you lose a customer. And for what? Topping up a glass a bit which costs you 50 cents? I do not like to be taken advantage of, full stop. I want to get what I paid for. And that’s it! Good luck!

I came in to celebrate my anniversary a few nights ago, and the food was amazing. The crab cakes were one of the best that I have ever had. The service was amazing and very attentive. We spoke to Gaby, who is one of the supervisor. She made our experience better!

As soon as I arrived at the restaurant I was greeted by the excellent staff and sat immediately. My server was Matthew and was just fantastic and brought out food in a timely manner. The steak and fries were to die for medium rare. Will definitely frequent more often

The ambiance is wonderful with a sleek retro interior that adds a unique charm. Brunch was good, though not quite great. The staff were very nice and attentive.

I love this restaurant!! Diana is the greatest!! She was so polite and quick to bring us our food! Everything came out great! I can't wait to come back again! :)

My husband and I eat brunch here every weekend. it's our neighborhood hangout. The staff, especially Kenny, make us feel like we're being served right in our own kitchen! Food is great, Kenny, behind the bar, is fantastic and the restaurant has a great vibe.

In December, I ended up eating at Silver three times in two days (long story lol) and I enjoyed my experiences here! The service is very kind, and the restaurant is beautiful with a good amount of space. The food here is fine; some items like the Mediterranean quinoa bowl rocks. Some items like the tacos and the chicken piccata are lackluster. The milkshakes are a must! I highly recommend that you split one, since they're absolutely huge.

Delicious lunchtime treat today at "Silver", great selection of items to choose. The service was excellent, the server continued to check in on us.

Great place for us to have lunch with older parents. Found a parking spot on the street right out in front. Had a reservation but didn't seem to be necessary for lunch on a Thursday. Service started out attentive and then fizzled but whatever... we had our food, right?! The menu definitely worked for my gluten-free dairy- free needs -- Yay!! Bathroom was close by but the doors were too heavy for my elderly mother-in-law. Best part -- I didn't have to pass on dessert -- dairy-free milkshake!!!!

I had a positively wonderful experience here that will ensure that I come back!! The manager Olivia personally made me a milkshake, and it was SUPERB. The fries were crispy to perfection, and the staff were just as good as the food. MAJOR props to Olivia, she truly is the heart of Silver Cathedral Commons!

Had brunch recently and had to come rave - the food was phenomenal (goat cheese is my weakness) but the service even better! Our server, Matthew, was speedy and attentive! We will be back for sure!

I haven't been in this neighborhood in a while. Met family here for brunch before walking over to National Cathedral. They sat our group in the corner. Plenty of room. Extensive menu and good Bloody Marys. Service was fast and friendly. Food was excellent. Definitely want to return for another visit.

Came here for dinner last night with a friend. Quality of food and service was amazing! I was stuck in between a couple of appetizer choices but my server Matthew was kind enough to suggest the crispy brussels sprouts. Definitely a great choice! He also went out of his way to get into depth of each dish I had in mind just so I don't feel like I made the wrong decision. Ended up with the chimichurri shrimp taco bowl. Did not regret at all, tasted super fresh! Overall, had a great end to my day here.

Yummy! You can never go wrong with Silver diner! I love the homemade soda options! I ordered the Breakfast nachos which were filling and delicious. Can't wait to visit again.

Diana was our bartender and server tonight and she was great. friendly, energetic, and engaging. great food and great time.

Came here for brunch with friends. The atmosphere is very nice and modern. Service was prompt and friendly. I had the smoked salmon and goat cheese omelet which came with toast and fruit. The toast and fruit were tasty. Omelet very meh. Husband had waffles and fried chicken which he said was fine but nothing special. Prices are a bit high for the quality imho.

Ate brunch here on Easter Sunday and it was AWESOME. The "flexitarian" brunch menu has something for everyone and many vegetarian options. The restaurant was very busy, but the service staff was awesome. We sat outside, and the server was tremendous and attentive. Drinks were good: had bloody Marys and a French Blonde. Food was EXCELLENT. The avocado toast was delicious--some of the best I have had. I also had a Winter Berry Salad, which was tasty fresh, and Eggs Benedict. REALLY enjoyed this meal--our best brunch in D.C. Great menu, A-team service. Left us wanting to come back for more at the Cathedral Heights Silver Diner.

Food: We'll prepared, excellent choice of dishes and brunch all day. Kaprise made a great Spanish coffee (for her first time, 5 ) I had the bison and French toast. Both good portion and pricing. I mean, where can you get bison at breakfast. This is a challenge I know and they managed to have it so, they've got something here. A place for couples, family and friends and I would go again. Service: Manager was frazzled. Seems she had a bunch of things to do but, she was short in her service communication however, helped staff with needs. Kaprise was great. She went above and beyond (as did the manager) to make a Spanish coffee. (Id recommend getting it on the menu as this is a hard find and you guys did a great job accommodating) and it's really one of the things I look for aside from mimosas in the breakfast/brunch areas. It sets other places aside from the basic Irish coffee in my opinion. Ambiance: soft/low volume music (lots of Michael Jackson) it's a large place. Well put together and the atmosphere is very classy. They have cloth napkins, fancy. Cleanliness/Standards: One thing I noticed is people on their phones will on the line working. I mean.. this is tough, it's 2023 everyone is on their phones at work it seems, maybe I'm just overly critical but, it's the biggest problem I see in cross contamination. It's not needed and I don't personally like it, especially when it's right in front of me. Aside from this regular hand washing between stations/glove changes were done but, could be better with the exception of this.

The food is delicious and fresh. Kai is so polite and professional! I loved the mac and cheese, wagyu slider and summer salad

Had the Miso Glazed Salmon Salad and it is by far one the best salads that I have tried. I had my order to go and the young lady helping me was also super nice, Maria, she made sure everything was the way I wanted and packed. I will definitely be coming back to physically dine here, the location and atmosphere of the place are just too good.

I thought I had already written a five-start review for this restaurant but apparently I did not complete it. We were there 5 days ago and had a lovely experience. Gwenn was a great server, and the food was definitely a cut above the lesser version of this company Silver Diner. The annoying and short-sighted policy of charging $5 for a soda left a sour note to the dinner visit, however. They might want to dull that impression with a more reasonable pricing strategy. After all, the meals are sufficiently costly as it is without a $5 Diet Coke.

Diana was great! Provide excellent service, I will be returning and will be requesting for her to assist us!

This was exactly what I was looking for after A long day at the zoo. I am a big fan of Silver Diner as I have many food sensitivities, and my suspicion that this was the same owners was correct. Really great food- everyone in my party was happy with what they ordered. I also liked that it felt like a restaurant even though it Had some diner like touches. The GF pistachio mousse/ brownie dessert was the perfect ending!!!

Great place to dine. It has become my personal favorite.Ican have conversation with managers as well as front desk. Staffs are equally trained and friendly. Ordered a burger and a salad miso. We get to know rissha who delivered food to us and invited back with complimentary small plate. It blew our mind. What a gesture.We will be back to our new favorite place.

Terrible service at this location. We asked if we could be seated outside. She told us, "I don't know the status of tables outside." We asked if there was a hostess for outside? "No, I'm the hostess for inside and outside." ,so she rolled her eyes and went to see if there was a table outside. Came back and asked a waitress if we could be seated at her table, waitress rolled her eyes and said yes begrudgingly. "Hostess" then brings us to a dirty table picks up a toothpick left on the table and tries to seat us. Needless to say, we ended up eating somewhere else.

It's alright. Overpriced, and most of the food is good. Chicken pot pie is not good at all, but burger is solid. The price disparity between Silver and Silver Diner does not correlate to the disparity in taste. Slow service even on week day nights.

This gem is an upscale dinner with a fabulous menu and bar.Boozy shakes to salmon slider's and other fresh farm to table amazing food and treats.They actually list the different locations they get there food from.When in the DC area definitely try from breakfast, lunch and dinner everything is really good!

Tonight I was dining with a close friend who has been a few times and recommended Silver. We ordered a smoky gouda burger, avocado toast, and a peppermint milkshake. Burger patty was cooked properly, but the toppings didn't work well. Maple pecan bacon,pico de gallo, and beans? The Gouda and brioche couldn't save it. The avocado toast though? Incredible. If that was the only menu item Silver would have a Michelin star. The milkshake was way too thin and didn't taste minty. Our server was kind and attentive, which is why I did 2 stars instead of 1.

Excellent food, service, location. Loved the Brussel sprouts and super wings. Steps away from my hotel and comfy booths.

COFFEE IS ATROCIOUS We love this place. Their vegan options is just awesome 8/10 and the oat pancakes 8/10. We love their potato fingerlings is "delicious " HOWEVER, the coffee and latte here is atrocious. I truly mean atrocious. I have been here I would say in last 2 years about 12-14 breakfast BUT the coffee kills it for me. You pay so much for what basically is hot water that looks black and the latte is sadly not ven worse. PS: got a standard reply from the manager of the premises. All it said is we look forward to serving you in the future. Nothing is mentioned of the atrocious latte/coffee. Seriously. Is this a standard reply ?

Basic food, overpriced. Nothing special. I knew better but hey, friends wanted to go here. The salmon sliders were 3 tiny buns with each a portion of a salmon filet, pickled ginger. The wasabi sour cream I knew I wouldn't like so I got it on the side since I don't typically like wasabi and I did not like it. My fries came out separately...like 10 minutes later. Not packed. Saturday night.

Oh Em Gee!!! First time here and it was AMAZING!! Everything is so flavorful. The lamb meatballs: divine. So good we got another order! Bison meatloaf with potatoes and broccolini: scrumptious and perfectly prepared. (I don't typically get meatloaf when I go out, but we were so happy that I did). Salmon and Asparagus: sooo delicious. They have boozy milkshakes and spiked coffees! We had a blast with these. The (complete) service was sweet, pleasant, and wonderful. I've asked to come back tomorrow and next weekend...to bring friends...so they can try We were too googly-eyed when we saw the food and neglected to take appetizer/entree pics.

Chef Ype brings a cherished collection of modernized and healthier diner food options with Silver Diners, and Silver is a more elevated option. Much like its sister in Bethesda, the Cathedral Heights location offers a nice selection of cocktails and spiked milkshakes, among others. As Silver celebrated its 15th year anniversary at this location, they had a number of festivities such as cocktail class and tastings, late HHs, special menus, and meet the chef. I would recommend Silver and Silver Diners for out-of-town visitors, brunches, and week day dinners.

The food is very good and the servers are great. They are personable and still efficient. We go once a month and we'll keep going. I don't have a lot to say. Try it and you'll enjoy the food, ambience and service.

I've been here twice the past visit was very underwhelming. It took 15 minutes to be greeted and given a menu. The service was extremely slow and the food was okay. Our waiter was extremely inattentive we sat for 15 minutes with empty plates and had to ask another waiter to get our waiter so we can pay for our food. I would say don't come here during peak hours of service is something you look for. I will say from my previous experience we enjoyed the food and the service.

Great place for apps! The server was super helpful and the atmosphere was slightly more upscale diner. They offer plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and the goat cheese bruschetta was delicious! Definitely recommend if you're in the area.

Came for brunch on a Saturday. We're seated outside. Food was ultimately delicious, however service was sketchy. We were seated and ordered drinks. Server returned and took our order (without bringing the drinks). Food arrived and no one had set silverware on the table. We mentioned to the servers who brought the food and she apologized and went to get it. A few minutes later our drinks arrived and we again asked for silverware. When it finally arrived, at least the food was delicious.

This place is nice! I came here with my friend for brunch. There was plenty of seating and there is street parking available. For a Sunday morning, this place wasn't too busy, which was surprising. I guess brunch in DC doesn't really start until 1 or so, so if you get there at 11 you'll be fine. I got a peach Bellini to start and it tasted really good! It was strong but didn't taste alcoholic. For food I got the spinach, feta, and mushroom omelette. It was good overall. The egg to stuff ratio was ok. It could've used more tomatoes, mushrooms, and a hint more feta. The potatoes were my favorite part by far. Not too oily. The toast was really good too! I got one drink and an entree for $30. The price didn't break the bank but it also wasn't soo cheap. Fair for the area I would say.

I've come here twice recently and they've been able to accommodate us in a large group. The servers are incredibly helpful and friendly and gave great recommendations. Their milkshakes are absolutely top notch-- thick and creamy, maybe the best I've had in DC! Last night I had the Moroccan tomato tagine, a vegetarian dish that our server steered me towards, and it was so flavorful, unique and satisfying! My friend had the burrata avocado toast and that looked delicious as well. I think the food here is a 10 out of 10, but it's the service that keeps us coming back-- 11 out of 10 for sure! Its a beautiful restaurant, and they serve some elevated classics at a fair price point. Great for a party, an intimate night with a date or girlfriends, or with kids! We'll return again and again!

We had a great evening at Silver! The service was exceptional and the bartender, Keis, was fantastic! Will definitely be back soon.

I will start by saying that the staff was very friendly and I enjoyed my time at Silver. However, the service was very slow and we ended up being there for well over 2 hours as it took a long time for our food to be made. Our drinks also took at least half an hour to come out. Not the end of the world, just something I noticed. The pickle fried chicken sandwich was incredible and a 5/5. However, the rest of my family was left disappointed with their meals as the pancakes were undercooked and one guest's burger was very undercooked. They did offer to recook the burger which was a nice gesture that we appreciated. Overall, I had an okay meal but don't think I will be returning here in the future

I really have tried to like this place over the years. I think I've finally learned not to try new things, to just stick with the French toast. The location is really convenient and they have plenty of parking, a lovely heated patio for outdoor dining year round and a really nice indoor dining room with a bar. The servers are always so nice. Again, really want to like the food. It's just not that good.

Great happy hour options. The ginger beer spiked, wine, sliders, goat cheese bruschetta. The cauliflower steak was good but the curry kale salad that came with it was fantastic. The truffle bison meatloaf was melting in my mouth. It was excellent. Staff was friendly, outdoor seating was perfect on a beautiful night with great weather. But the mom with 2 young kids across from me ruined the evening for me. Her younger kid was very disruptive, escalating behavior, refusing to eat. Her force feeding him resulted in me witness her kid throwing up on to the plate, all over the floor. And never apologizing. I had to try my best to close my eyes... it was a horrible sighting from my dinner table. We had more food coming. Restaurant staff acted like nothing ever happened, trying to seat new customers near the vomit. What? Not the restaurant fault kid throwing up but made me wonder if this is normal sighting at this restaurant. Beautiful restaurant and great food though!

Came here with my folks and it's very very amazing I would be definitely be returning back!!!! Service was on point.

Service was very pleasant , food came out hot and fast. Only thing bad I have to say is that they promote hand pressed juice but definitely was not . I ordered the hand pressed orange juice which came out so fast since it looked and tasted like the ones that you get by the gallon or carton. $8 for that was ridiculous. I let the server know and was told that the manager said it was because they were out of season . I paid for it because I ordered it but they didn't have to lie to me. They should change the menu and not under deliver.

Everything I've tried has been expertly prepared, and the waitstaff are wonderful. A relaxed atmosphere. It's fun doing some people-watching here, also!

The management here has gone severely downhill and the food has been very inconsistent lately. We are regulars here as we live just down the road and probably eat here 1-2 times per week whether dining in or getting take-out. All of our issues recently have come when the short-haired manager (not sure her name) is working. She has very poor customer service and is unpleasant to speak with. My wife doesn't eat meat, and the past 2 times we have gotten breakfast here, her meal (which doesn't have meat in it to begin with on the menu) has had bits of ham or bacon in it. Makes me question the attention to detail and the cleanliness in the kitchen. Back in March we came to get a table outside for breakfast. It was 45 degrees and sunny. The manager (short-haired lady) said they weren't going to seat outdoors because it is too cold and it's dangerous for the staff and the heaters don't work well enough. What!?! We have never been told this since we have been living here for 3 years. 45 degrees and sunny and it's dangerous oustide? The outdoor area has plexiglass siding and heaters and we have eaten here outside all throughout the pandemic in the dead of winter when it was sub 30 degrees and never had an issue. Most recently (last week), we came for the Monday special (burger and a beer/shake for $15 or so we thought). When picking up our last take out order we grabbed a flyer from the stack they were handing out at the counter inside where we noticed the deal. It turns out their deal now is actually half price on a burger with the purchase of a beer/shake. When they brought the bill, they again had the same flyer for the $15 special in with the bill. The manager would not honor the deal on the flyers they were actively passing out and was very argumentative. On top of it, the bill was incorrect to begin with and the manager didn't know how the bill was supposed to look. It was absurd and the manager was very argumentative and had zero customer service skills. For the above reasons, we will no longer be going back. The food overall is good and we have enjoyed the salmon salad pretty often, however we will seek out other options nearby going forward.

Had an absolutely wonderful dinner all because of our waitress Diana. She was very attentive, welcoming and service was super quick!
