The 12 Best Coffee Shops In Houston

"Delightfully tiny, Simply Coffie in The Heights serves a drink that makes us feel so luxurious and special we will never shut up about it: single origin iced coffee, brewed to order, served in a fun little frosted glass carafe. Not only does it taste delicious, but the gratification of seeing a beautifully presented and meticulously brewed coffee set before us feels so powerful that our glee borders on megalomania.  " - chelsea thomas

26 Essential Coffee Shops in Houston

"Explore the many coffee countries at this specialty coffee house in the Heights, which roasts and brews blends from countries that include Ethiopia, Colombia, Costa Rica, and most recently an award-winning batch from Panama. Coffee purists can delight in their decision to not use artificial sweeteners or sugar (you won’t find them anywhere in-store), and those interested in extra flavor can delight in its seasonal options, such as the fall-themed Pumpkin Patch or the Kiano, a coffee drink made with real kiwi." - Minh Truong, Brittany Britto Garley

Simply Coffie - Review - The Heights - Houston - The Infatuation

"Something about a large carafe of excellent single origin iced coffee, brewed to order, feels like the absolute height of luxury. Simply Coffie, a roastery and cafe in The Heights, is currently the only coffee shop in town we know of offering such magnificence. While most independent cafes offer single origin coffee—essentially coffee that can be traced back to a single producer or region—it’s usually served hot. But at Simply, for an extra $2, you get a fancy glass carafe resting on ice along with a frozen cup. And given that Houston is a giant oven for roughly six months, anything frozen or ice-adjacent is already special. Add on a chocolate truffle or a decadent raspberry cake (show up early for these), and embrace the tiny cafe’s airy grandeur. photo credit: Liz Silva photo credit: Liz Silva photo credit: Liz Silva" - Chelsea Thomas

Google
My new favorite coffee shop! They really focus on the drinks, and nothing there is too sweet for my taste! There is also a good selection on non coffee times such as cacao milk and teas, which are all equally as great as the coffee! Very clean dining area and nice sunlight from the street! Only complaint is parking isn a bit rough, but that's the norm for finding a place to leave your car in that side of town anyways! Thanks for the hospitality:)

Google
Simply the very best cup of coffee you will have in Houston, no competition. I try to go with they recommend since they’re the experts. Service is the absolute best. It’s like a family reunion. You feel welcome and seen. The atmosphere is simple but with warmth. The music is not distracting. Great place 10/10.

Google
Upscale heights coffee shop specializing in pour overs. Fantastic place to study or work. I tried a few of their specialty drinks: (1) Taiwan Alishan Coffee - $20 (2) Yemen’s Green Royalty - from their specialty pinball machine $13 - which you get a mystery drink and (3) which I can’t remember. All coffees were absolutely delicious! I don’t think I’m at the level of coffee sophistication to understand the flavors and notes of the coffees so will probably stick to the more classic / budget options going forward. The space is impeccable - modern and bright while feeling cozy and as other reviews have mentioned their bathrooms are state of the art. The owners and staff are incredibly knowledgable and friendly. Nick especially is a great guy! I’ll definitely come back in the future.

Google
This coffee shop is an excellent choice for quality coffee and a well-maintained space. Their specialty coffee is rich and flavorful, clearly crafted with expertise. One standout feature for me is the clean and modern restroom, which is something I always consider when grading a place. The customer service is exceptional—staff are friendly, attentive, and genuinely make the experience enjoyable. Overall, this place earns high marks for its coffee, cleanliness, and service. Definitely worth a visit!

Google
We found this coffee shop at random and are so glad we gave it a try. Beautiful, airy, relaxing atmosphere. And the service matches just that as well. Highly recommend. We do not live in Houston, but when we come back this is definitely a comeback spot for us.

Google
Great place to get coffee and pastries in the area. Great place to work and study. The place is very modern and clean, they had great service. They have a large amount of different coffee options. The matcha espresso that I got was perfect and had strong good flavor. The pastries was amazing as well. I would come back.

Google
This is the most beautiful coffee shop I’ve found in Houston! There’s no doubt the owner is very thoughtful when it comes to the interior design and atmosphere. It’s going to be my go-to spot for working and studying. PS: The latte was so good, I didn’t even think about adding sugar.

Jasmin Perla

Google
Incredible quality of absolutely everything. At first, I was shocked they didn’t have any additives (no sugar or syrups) to add to their drinks— but now I get it. The quality of what they serve is so good, you won’t need any. That being said, it’s definitely not your average coffee shop—more for specialty single origins and unique offerings. The uji matcha is the absolute best and it’s the only matcha I’ll drink with no sugar added. The place is nicely decorated with beautiful plants and the staff is extremely knowledgeable and pleasant. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for quality that is unmatched.

Yelp
This place was by far one of the best coffee shops I've been to in Houston! They don't add any artificial sweeteners or additives into their drinks, so when you're drinking any of their drinks, you're truly appreciating it for the taste and flavor rather than the sugar. Speaking from someone who usually enjoys sweet coffee, I actually really enjoyed getting to try their menu! It tastes so fresh and real that I didn't feel like it needed more sugar. Aside from that, the service here is amazing! The employees offer free water, try to take care of any dirty/unused glass as soon as possible, and quickly provide any help when needed. They're also just really nice people I feel. Totally would recommend for anyone wanting to try a coffee shop in the heights area

Yelp
The perfect place for coffee enthusiast and matcha lovers. The workers were so friendly and knew their stuff when it came to coffee and matcha. They had 2 types of matcha powder to choose from and I chose Uji. With Uji, they normally add espresso but I skipped out on that. I paid $8.50 for the drink, dollar extra for oat milk and 50 cent extra for Uji. The matcha quality is out of this world. I personally know it's a great quality matcha when you don't need anything added to make it drinkable. It was so smooth, so earthy, it was simply divine. Simply Coffie has lots of natural light but be careful as theirs some construction near by. My only con is the cup sizing, I just wished it was little bit bigger. I should mention that they don't have any additional sweetener so no syrups available to add.

Yelp
Service: The service here is warm and welcoming. The barista took the time to explain their special coffees in detail and made personalized recommendations based on our tastes.   Ambiance: The café boasts plenty of natural light and ample seating, creating a pleasant atmosphere.   Coffee: Unfortunately, they stop using their espresso machine one hour before closing, so lattes are not available during the last hour of business. Only their special drinks, which are all black, are offered. This could be a major drawback for those who prefer milk-based coffees.   We tried the Nina Rafaela and El Pino coffees, but found them overly acidic, masking any distinct flavors. When we requested steamed milk, we were informed that it wouldn't mix well due to the high acidity.   Additionally, the hot black coffee was served in ceramic cups without handles. While aesthetically pleasing, the cups were too hot to hold comfortably.   Pastry: The pastry was delicious and the highlight of our visit.   Overall: The coffee was expensive and too acidic to enjoy. They also do not offer any decaf options. The parking entrance is tricky, often blocked by cars trying to turn. Overall, this place is not worth a return visit.

Yelp
Simply Coffee is simply the best (pourover) coffee. This Asian owned, modern coffee shop in the Heights is beautiful with lots of natural lighting. The only downside to coming here is their very small parking lot, but if you're lucky enough to get a spot, it is very much worth coming here. What sets them apart is their attention to detail. You can tell they are very knowledgeable about the coffee they serve, and they make it to the absolute best of their ability. Just note that Simply Coffie is named that for a reason. Don't come here expecting your sweet syrups and flavorings that you would get at other coffee shops. Here they focus on the simple quality of the perfectly roasted beans. The most you'll get here is some oat milk or milk foam on your latte. My favorite so far was the Las Lajas cappuccino with oat milk, it was a perfect cup of coffee. Whether you're coming here to study, get some work done, or catch up with a friend, Simply Coffie really does serve some of the best coffee in Houston. Just don't forget to try their wonderful pastries as well, enjoy!

Yelp
I came here for the first time on a Tuesday morning and had a very pleasant experience: - GREAT coffee (had the House Latte) - Plenty of free parking spots (parking lot and street) - Plenty of workspace and outlet - Fast Wi-Fi - Great customer service - Very aesthetic atmosphere Would come back again!

Yelp
I think this coffee shop is catered to a certain type of coffee person and the person is not me. Parking is very minimal and the shop itself is small and quaint. Big windows that I love. They dont "offer any additional flavoring for our coffees"

Yelp
Cofee shop vibes is relaxed. Coffee is good. We tried the cafe Au Lait and Oolong express. Both iced. Oolong was better. Staff can be more friendly but they explained their coffee selection well so thats good.

Yelp
Yay for another coffee place in town! It's located in the Greater Heights (24th St). It is a splendid spot on its own. Some architectural design, really. The inside reflects the same. Modern, yet minimalist. It is also Taiwanese owned, which adds on a unique character. I was a bit confused on what to order. The wall displays some by not the type of coffees they serve. Now browsing around, I noticed only now they did have a menu, but I wasn't offered to review it. I asked for my usual cappuccino, but this time I remember its really smooth taste from a precise and full of attention pour. I watched the owner really showing care for what he does and somehow, that adds a different feel for it. Even the cups are different. Water is from a purified machine and I enjoyed it. On a weekday afternoon, seating was limited. I took the high chair in the corner facing the street, and I'm satisfied to be able to car/traffic watch for a change. Parking is very limited. Their space only offered no more than 8 or 10 I believe, so gotta rely on street parking too. In the back, they display various coffee making tools and beans in a soft lighting. I want my living room to be like theirs, lol. They seem to have a 2nd floor too but I'm not sure whether it's private or not. The design overall is intriguing. I also missed out on the snacks they provide. I guess this will be my motive to visit this place again!

Yelp
Simply Coffie is an Asian-owned coffee shop in the Heights which opened up ~8-months ago (in summer 2023). I came across it randomly and went on a Friday morning with my wife. The atmosphere is beautiful. There are clean lines throughout, large windows, wood paneling, coffee bean sacks, and light music that plays in the background. There are multiple tables to sit at, and there is free Wi-Fi. I ordered an Oolong Cappucino w/ Oat Milk for $6.00. I have never experienced this before, but I enjoyed it a lot. My wife recently gave birth, so she is still limiting her caffeine intake. This coffee shop doesn't serve decaf FYI. She ordered a regular Iced Latté for $6.00 instead. Overall, I loved my experience at this coffee shop. I could see myself sampling multiple interesting items on their coffee menu. I would highly recommend coming here if you want to see coffee done well in the Heights.

Yelp
Simply Coffie is a new coffee shop in the Heights! They opened 8 months ago and are Asian owned. The interior is very modern and aesthetically beautiful. There's plenty of comfortable seating with lots of plugs. It was not too crowded on a Friday afternoon so it would be a good place to go and get some work done. There is also a small parking lot behind the building. They seem to be a fancier coffee shop as they do not offer decaf or extra sweetener/syrup options. I got an iced latte and it really did not need extra sweetener! The coffee was very smooth. Overall, I could see myself coming back here often. The coffee, service, and ambiance is excellent.

Yelp
I really like this place. It's a cute, small coffee shop and I love the design. There is so much natural light and it is just such a nice atmosphere to be in. It is quite a small place so not a ton of seating, but still a nice place to sit and get work done or catch up with a friend. I also noticed many people coming in from walks or bike rides. The people that work here were also so nice and sweet. They were super attentive and came to check if we needed water or even if we wanted our own water bottle filled up! I got the oolong cappuccino iced and I actually picked it kinda randomly. I enjoyed it, but I feel like I didn't really get a lot of an oolong flavor. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Simply Coffee is another formidable option in the neighborhood. I decided to finally try it out. I was greeted by their very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Being that I tend to gravitate towards African beans, I tried their Ethiopian single origin pour over. Coffee was phenomenal and I can't wait to try their other single origin beans. Hopefully their house drip is a worthy option so that I won't break the bank every time I stop in.

Yelp
This review is coming to you live from the shop - best staff, chill vibes, amazing coffee. This is a coffee purist paradise with so many roasts and beans to try out plus your usual milky variations. Don't fret tea lovers, they have you covered as well. These guys know what they are doing, so ask for a recommendation and trust you will be satisfied! Parking - small lot and street.
google avatar

Jenny K.

Yelp
This place is such a cute place, very spacious with a lot of plug outlets available for charging devices. The employees were nice and apparently offer variety of desserts during day time (I went late afternoon time, so only basque cheesecake was available). Seatings are comfortable for long period of sitting and great for studying as well (not too loud). The only downside for me was that their single origin coffee were on acidic/sour side for my taste. The Mauritius tea was GREAT, tasted like fancy semi sweet black tea ish. If you are in heights, I recommend this coffee place for a visit.
google avatar

Sandra S.

Yelp
Cute small space that serves delicious coffee and pastries! I think this place serve my favorite latte. You might think "don't all lattes just taste the same - like milk". This one has a aftertaste with a hint of toffee. No syrup. Just perfect brewing technique and quality beans. It was soooooo delicious. They also serve specialty coffee and pour overs for the coffee enthusiasts. I also tried the lemon tart which was the perfect ratio of filling to merengue. It was also as the aesthetically pleasing. It's a bit on the pricier side but overall probably one of the better coffee shops in Houston.
google avatar

Calvin W.

Yelp
This coffee shop easily makes my shortlist for best coffee shop in town. They serve Gesha coffee, competition beans at market price, and have a cold brew rig set up out front-- they mean business! Service is fast and friendly, and the staff are clearly passionate and knowledgeable about coffee. Ambience is great as well, plenty of natural light, and seating, while slightly limited, should be plenty with lots of outlets for working as long as you like if you are a coffee shop worker. Pastries have really nice presentation, though I didn't get to try one. I had an Ethiopian Gesha pourover, which came across as very light, bodied, floral, and with a fruited finish-- expensive, but it is definitely worth having if you haven't tried Gesha coffee before. Of note, the folks here don't really do heavy syrup on their drinks, if at all. If you're used to Starbucks, it may not be your taste.

Yelp
I'm a big fan of studying at cafes and I feel that this cafe meets all the criteria. The cafe is well lit with natural sunlight which keeps me awake. They play lofi music which isn't distracting and is great for the vibes. The matcha latte and oolong cappuccino tasted good and is not too sweet! I felt that the service was excellent and the workers are enthusiastic :)

Yelp
My girlfriend and I are always looking to try new coffee spots for study dates and today we decided to check out Simply Coffie in the Heights. This place has two main cons and it's all uphill from there so I will get those out of the way first. The parking here is atrocious. There are a handful of spots adjacent to the shop but we had to search around for a few minutes before locating parking down the road. Secondly, the shop is rather small and has limited seating. That being said, my girlfriend and I were able to nab the last available table as soon as we arrived. Neither of these are Simply Coffie's fault and I won't detract points for them, but it's something to be aware of and to plan for before visiting. Upon entering I thought the lighting and atmosphere seemed very elegant and upscale but not to the point where it felt hostile. They had gentle jazz music playing that really suited the vibe and due to the limited seating, the overall noise level was very low and perfect for getting some work done or having a quiet conversation. When I went to order and looked at my menu I immediately knew I was a little out of my death. I love the taste of coffee but I am not super knowledgeable about it, so I had to ask the baristas for assistance. They were very patient with me (lol) and eventually helped me pick out a single country of origin iced double espresso from Peru. It came out very quickly and when I took my first sip I was amazed. The espresso had so much depth and flavor and it truly caught me off guard. It was delicious but unlike anything I have ever tried before. I am sitting in Simply Coffie writing this and I am already excited for the next time I can come in and try something else. I may not be all that knowledgeable of the subtle intricacies of coffee beans and where they come from but Simply Coffie has really impressed me and has inspired me to learn a lot more about this deceptively complex beverage that I drink on a daily basis.

Yelp
simply coffie is one of my favorite coffee shops in houston. i don't really crave going to any coffee shop except for this one! all their coffee is made with the highest quality and there is so much attention to detail. there isn't a whole lot of parking or seats - but whenever i come - i still manage to find a spot. i like how wide open it is and so bright! makes working or catching up with friends seem so nice! i got their cortado and their matcha bisque cheesecake! the matcha bisque cheesecake was amazing. it had this super smooth, creamy texture with just the right amount of matcha flavor. the bisque crust added a nice crunch that went perfectly with the creamy cheesecake. it wasn't too sweet, just the perfect balance. every bite was a mix of flavors and textures that made it unforgettable. definitely try it if you visit! :)

Yelp
This place is a true vibe! It is very simple, very mindful, very demure. This coffee is exactly the name, simply, however it does get the job done after a of fun! There are NO additives, just simple, good coffee, with very kind people working there.
google avatar

Daphne A.

Yelp
Simply Coffie specializes - and I do mean specializes - in their pour over game. I enjoyed every drop of coffee I've had here, including the iced pour over! It is artistic, delicious, and technical. Please be aware that pour overs take time - and it's worth it. But just know that hand-brewed coffee takes at least five minutes if no one else is ahead of you! So get comfy and come off-peak. Parking is available, but scarce, so plan ahead to look around in case their small amount of spaces are full. Some street parking is available across the road. I recommend Simply Coffie if you want a luxury coffee experience and are curious what coffee can really be like. I can't wait to come back.
google avatar

Chen-Tai H.

Yelp
Simply coffie was one of the highlights for my trip to Houston. I am a fan of espresso and pour over. They have a wide selection of the coffee bean. You get to choose the bean you like for espresso, which is rare for most of the coffee shops I've been to. The espresso was so great, even my friend who doesn't usually enjoy espresso, found it tasty. Although I didn't order the pour coffee, I believe the barista's expertise and believe it would be good. Their home made desserts are also good. This place alone is a reason for me to travel back to Houston
google avatar

Yelp
Simply Coffie has been in business for two years in one of the busiest parts of the Heights. There is plenty of parking in the back. When you go in the first thing you'll see is glass windows and doors leading in the interior. It let's in some beautiful natural light that just makes the whole space incredibly inviting. You'll see some serious coffee making equipment. I was struck by the clean and classy aesthetic, the tile work along the back wall gave a beautiful contrast. You'll also see huge coffee bags on the floor and a room where the roasting happens. Back to the coffee. They break out their single origins by continent. I had a Colombia single origin pour over. It's a bit pricey but well worth the cost. It had a clean yet full bodied taste with a bit of tart sweetness at the end. Just a great cup of coffee. My wife had the oolong cappuccino, which is analogous to a milk tea - only this one was even better than what you get from those Chinese drink places. The oolong was really strong and powerful. Loved it and can't wait to come back and try out some of the other single origin African or South American coffees.

Yelp
No chi tea latte we , no almond milk, the lady was rude.. such a bummer since it's walking distance from my place but it does have nice outdoor seating . just very strong ass coffee if your into that thing .
google avatar

Jessica T.

Yelp
Coffee: I've only had the oolong cappucinos the few times I've been here, and I always savor every sip! It is roasty, warm, earthy, and subtly sweet. Perfect for coffee + tea lovers. There are not many syrup options if you like your coffee sweet, they mostly specialize in single origin black coffee. I will stick with my oolong capps and maybe try it iced next time! Ambience: Lovely coffee shop in the heights to get some work done. Plenty of natural lighting and outlets, with soft ambient music playing in the background. Parking: Lot is a bit limited (about 5 parallel parking spots and a 2 regular spots), but there's nearby street parking available.

Yelp
I"found" this place today. It's been Hereford several months. I came only first-sign it was good my favourite barista was there on his day off having coffee. The service is friendly and prompt. The coffee was very good, there is ample parking .

Yelp
Vibe- This coffee shop is an entire vibe! There's nice soft jazz music playing and the space is so clean and crisp; perfect to study. There's a few seats outside and about 20 or so spots to sit inside. The owners are amazing and one of them gave me an in depth story behind their coffee shop and why they serve the coffee as intended by the producer without the added syrups and such! He made a great point in that when you added all the syrups are you drinking "coffee or just the syrups?" Check them out when you're in the heights area! Customer service- Great! Food/drinks- I got a hot latte with oatmilk and it was good to my surprise! Parking- They have about 6-7 spots along the fence in the lot and a few other spots in the lot as well.
google avatar

Lily L.

Yelp
Super aesthetic coffee shop! It's not a big place but they got good seatings and were playing slow music, would be a good work/study spot, or just grab some quality coffee with friends. They roast their beans, which why they have a wide variety of coffees and great quality too. I got the oolong cappuccino and when I tried to adjust the sugar, I learned that they believe in natural sweetness from the milk is perfect pair for their coffee instead. I totally agree after trying because the added sugar could overpower the fragrant coffee taste. The subtle creaminess from the milk was just perfect! My bf got the Patio Bonito which is a black coffee, it was too strong and acidic for me. But it's really good quality coffee according to him, it has a unique flavor, would recommend. It was just not my taste because I never drink americano loll I love matcha so maybe I will go back and try that next time. Service was really friendly, she was so patient explaining their specialities to us since it was our first time.

Yelp
Simply Coffie is located in the Heights and offers well-made coffee. I went during their soft opening, and as of currently, they do not have any sweeteners for their drinks, so there were no vanilla, caramel, etc lattes. I ordered the oolong cappuccino and a brioche cube. There is always the battle of coffee versus tea, but they blended seamlessly in the oolong cappuccino. The drink was smooth and slightly bitter with a strong flavor of oolong and paired well with the brioche cube. The brioche cube was toasted and slightly crispy on the outside with a light cinnamon similar to french toast flavor on the inside. The inside has high ceilings making light pour into the cafe. The inside is very clean and minimal, and the espresso bar is in the front, making it the center of attention. There is a small pastry case with various croissants and desserts. They also had coffee bags and a room where they processed their coffee. A lot of seating was available, and there is also seating in the front where you can people and car watch. There is limited parking. Parallel parking is available in the space and on the streets. Overall, I really enjoyed the atmosphere and would love to see what they have in store in the future!

Yelp
Friendly neighborhood coffee shop with a quiet ambiance smooth relaxing sounds playing for background music,I had the Genmaicha tea( yummy if you like matcha and green tea ) I paired it with Brioche Cube filled with tres leche Nik was super friendly ,and knowledgeable .

Yelp
Nice the little coffee shop in the heights. Cafe Au Lait - perfect sweetness for my girlfriend. Overall she said it was good. Oolong cold brew tea - strong tea flavor which amazed me. I would drink this on a hot summer day. Maybe with a little be of sugar would have made it better for me. Brioche croissant - there is a nice subtle sweetness in the center which made it so much better. The outside is covered in sugar. My tip is made sure to get some of the filling as I didn't on my initial bite. Service was great and the drinks were made fairly quickly. The cashier helped me bring things to my desk which was very nice of him. Note that the parking lot here is small. 7-8 spots here and then you will need to find street parking.

Yelp
Great coffee quality. Minimalistic decor, plenty of natural sunlight. Parking is limited, but you'll find a spot or two empty during non-peak hours. Service was good whenever I visited.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday afternoon, probably about 2 or 3 hours before closing, just to spend quality time with the hubs! I get egg-cited every time I get to try a new coffee shop I haven't been to before but was quite disappointed when I arrived. Just prior to coming to the coffee shop, a local Houston blogger/foodie featured Simply Coffie on their IG and it increased foot traffic. They weren't expecting to gain such a quick increase among patrons visiting that they had run out of baked goods/desserts within two hours of opening that Sunday, and didn't re-stock. Ok, fine. But then they were out of some their coffee options, and it raised an eyebrow but we accepted that, and chose an alternative option. Fast forward a few days later, and I see a post on IG from Simply Coffie featuring their affogato coffee and then I got pissed. Call it false advertising? I was jipped. The photo posted on IG of their affogato was a giant glass with more than 1x scoop of ice cream with a small cup of coffee next to it. What I got was a tiny cup containing coffee and one scoop of ice cream plopped inside...no pride in this at all, yet they post the real deal on IG...and just because it's the end of the day doesn't mean we should get anything less... This coffee shop is not all that it's cracked out to be. Overly hyped you might say? Parking is limited and one of the guys making the coffee was definitely friendlier than the other guy behind the counter also making coffee.... Either way, not impressed and probably won't be returning...

Yelp
This place is in a perfect spot where you can chill and relax. Sadly there's not much space in their parking lot but the drink options are above the typical options. Service was great both baristas were very tentative despite the busy crowd.
google avatar

Riel S.

Yelp
Another favorite coffee shop to go to for speciality coffees! Not a lot of places offer geisha beans because they're expensive but this place does! So meticulous of preparing iced drips! They don't let water dilute but chill it over ice for the best experience! Love the interior and the owners is a real pro about coffee so make sure to ask!

Yelp
This 'simple' coffee shop is nested in the upper part of the Heights just inside the loop, run by a couple from Taiwan (as evidenced by their license plate reading Taiwan #1). While their inside area is small, each table is sturdy and comes with its own outlet. They even bring your drink to you after you order! They boast a large selection of coffee beans which they roast in house (including some rare ones, which according to a friend, tastes very different than a standard coffee). This small yet formidable coffee shop should be on Houston's radar for years to come, especially as the coffee scene becomes more competitive in the Heights.

Yelp
Heads up this place is very coffee snob so don't ask for anything with milk or you'll get look down on. This maybe a good spot for a date but the ambiance is not at all inviting it's like your intruding on their personal space. We ordered an americano, a double espresso (wanted something else but kinda got a look) and a pastry (not made in house) got the espresso and the Americano and the espresso (served with a sparkling water) lady who gave the drinks was incredibly nice. Espresso was robust and full of flavor (really wanted Splenda and purest will give me shit but I like a little sweetness) over all this place isn't for the casual drinker just imagine it a more advanced blacksmith. So tl;dr great for coffee purest and want a pure cup of coffee all other either visit boomtown or other local shops near by

Yelp
No sweeteners, no flavors, JUST COFFEE ;) straight to the point menu, and respect for this shop staying true to "coffee". I personally grabbed a latte because I think the pour over would be too strong for me. The service was fast, friendly, establishment was clean and modern with pleasant music.

Yelp
Simply Coffie is little bit overrated if I'm to be honest. I appreciate the art of the process and that they want to focus on the coffee beans themselves. However, the flavor profile just didn't work for us. "It taste like dirt, but not necessarily in a bad way," is how one of my friends phrased it. It has a strong coffee flavor, but lacking the ability to add sweetness is a present deterrent for a return trip. The oolong cappuccino had a pretty grainy texture as well. By early afternoon, they'd already run out of squared brioche croissants, and the waiting game for drinks was definitely not it. To add onto that, we also had to remind them about our lychee rose cake order when they finally brought our stuff over. On the bright side, that lychee rose cake was a pleasant surprise - interesting textures and a (surprise) delightful mild sweetness. The parking situation though... is pretty rough to say the least. That's mostly out of their control, but just so you know.

Yelp
Love this place! My husband and I have been coming here every weekend since discovering it in August. I'm 100000% addicted to their oolong cappuccino - I crave it on days we don't go. Meanwhile my husband likes the oolong cappuccino and their mocha, but has been doing a "tour" of their black coffees. I, personally, stick to espresso but I've tasted the coffees he has tried and they really are very good. Normally when coffee is described as having notes I may be able to tell if something is chocolate or fruity, but I can't distinguish between say, a berry and guava. Here I can! I think the biggest thing to be aware of is you're not at a Starbucks, and the menu here is focused on the coffee - so most drinks are not sweet. That includes the oolong cappuccino, but the mocha has a slight sweetness to it. Pastries are also less sweet. I did keto for the better part of 5 years and for me I really love this as I no longer enjoy overly sweet things. The atmosphere here is super enjoyable - the space is light and bright, and everyone there appears to be enjoying themselves and relaxing. And the service is always excellent.

Yelp
TL;DR This must be the best coffee I've ever had in my life! However, I'm not a coffee aficionado like my husband. He suggested we leave our neighborhood and try something new. He's always trying to find great coffee, and he thinks this is the best coffee HE'S ever had! This place is tucked in with a small parking lot of course, and the interior is a bit small with tall ceilings, very clean, simple and lots of light. Just like the name suggests, it is SIMPLY COFFEE. They do not even have sugar in the establishment. But let me tell you--it's absolutely unnecessary! This place is super serious about their coffee beans. The coffee is delectably smooth. They have a menu with flavor profiles from different regions and you pick from what your tastes are. They make coffee feel like it is more diverse than wine! Amazing! Oh, and they do have a small batch of baked goods... just wish there was more parking available, but these parts are like that, and this coffee alone deserves the whole 5 stars!

Yelp
5 stars on the coffee and ambiance 3 stars on all the little annoyances on the weekends. -no sugar in any form at this place. Except for the pastries. Not even monk fruit, stevia etc. I'm not a person who takes a ton of sugar but I do like a little tsp with my drinks to take off the edge. -only paper products on weekends. I wanted to experience the whole thing when I visited and was let down. Now on to the good stuff. They have great music. It's smaller so not as loud. Good seating but limited. Parking: small lot in the back, street and the parking garage down the block. Coffee. I got the oolong cap. Coffee isn't too bitter and I can tell they do their best to give you a quality coffee. Bring ur own bag of sugar I guess lol

Yelp
Super cute coffee shop in the heights that's a great environment for working, studying, or hanging out. They're definitely knowledgeable about coffee, and we enjoyed the drinks we got! I opted for the iced mocha and it was good, not too sweet but slightly sweet from the chocolate. The presentation is great and their pastries looked amazing, we tried the chocolate croissant and it had this chocolate cream filling inside - really good! It's not the biggest space but if you come on a weekday afternoon like we did it shouldn't be very crowded. Bonus: there's stray cats near the building that they feed every day so you might see some cute kitties outside!

Yelp
Came here after seeing this place on some Houston influencer/blogger instagram and really wanted to check it out. I got the iced mocha and it was so good. The espresso was super smooth. The staff was very friendly. There's a good amount of seating inside but did get packed on a Saturday afternoon. Seems like a great place to study. Parking lot is there but it's very small.

Yelp
Simple, pure, elegance, skillful, authentic... You don't get to taste this kind of coffee very often in the Greater Houston. Not too strong, just enough to make you reminisce after each sip. French desert and homemade chocolate taste like flower and memory. Yes memories of all the warm gathering explode from each bite. Professional, caring, you will feel loved when the barista asked about your preference and make you a customized coffee. Abundant natural light surrounding the atmosphere with smell of the beans....just come visit this place and make this a habit.

Yelp
Went for a casual afternoon. We ordered a regular cappuccino and an oolong cappuccino. Both are great! The shop is bright and clean, very relaxing. The staff are very welcoming. Had a great afternoon reading there, will definitely go again!

Yelp
Man. I read great reviews of this place online and decided to check it out when I was in the area. We went on a Saturday afternoon and parking was limited but we got a spot which worked out. Walking in, the place was packed and uncomfortably quiet. People were chatting but more of whispers. The customer service made me uncomfy not gonna lie. My husband loves asking baristas what they would recommend and the employee basically recommended all of the pricy options on the menu lol. I asked if they had sweeteners (caramel, vanilla etc.) and the employee replied in the most condescending way that they don't have sweeteners at all. Anyways....my husband got something that I have no desire learning the name of. lol. He likes exploring so it's fine. I got a basic iced latte.... The employee told me it was a "safe option". Like thank you ma'am. We also got an espresso basque cheesecake which was delicious. This was the best thing we got. Anyways anyone want to guess how much we spent on all of this? 25$.... lol. Ridiculous. Anyways really bougie coffee shop but probably will never return. Bye!

Yelp
If you like Starbucks or lots of syrups in your drink, this isn't your coffee shop. If you like high quality coffee and drinks that truly showcase the coffee, this is your place. The Americanos are always smooth and delicious, and they have so many options for pour over. The owners are usually working and everyone is nice. Gorgeous building. Really lovely spot.

Yelp
I'm giving a 3 star review, reason being . This is my first time here and I have to say ...the gentleman at this coffee shop is very dry . No information About what coffee I am getting or what is what . No conversation just straight dull experience. It isn't fun when you just stare at the coffee menu not knowing which is what . If you're gonna sell coffee , atleast be enthusiastic about your job and what you sell . Communication skills very horrible . I don't think i will be back when other coffee shops will greet you and explain what is what ... I won't be back .
