"For over 20 years this Fremont staple has nailed layer cakes, with terrific takes on classics like chocolate raspberry and red velvet. Open late, this is the perfect after-dinner spot, so those making a night of it at one of Fremont’s many great restaurants should make sure to leave room for dessert. This spot used to be cash only, but it now accepts cards." - Kurt Suchman, Alana Al-Hatlani

"Simply Desserts is a little bakery with an important lemon blueberry cake. It’s acceptable to buy it whole and tell everyone it’s for a friend’s birthday, but then promptly drive home and chip away at it every few hours with a plastic spork. We fully endorse eating it for dinner, and then again in the morning, because blueberries are a breakfast food. And if fruit desserts aren’t your thing, their cinnamon-kicked Mexican chocolate cake is equally as delicious. " - aimee rizzo

"We endorse buying an entire layer cake from Simply Desserts and chipping away at it with a fork and calling it a meal. And the fact that they’re open late is even better. If you’re not down to eat 24 servings of red velvet in one sitting, they sell slices. Hope that the lemon blueberry, mocha, or chocolate raspberry are available. Open till 11:30pm every day." - aimee rizzo

When we moved to Fremont, we were delighted to have this dessert spot nearby. Back then the cakes were delicious and felt like we got more than enough in a slice. We went to pick up some slices today and only when we got home we noticed how small the slices have become. Even though we still do find the cakes delicious, it's hard to justify the cost when the prices keep going up and the sizes go down

Decided to get a custom cake done for our two year old. The owners were extremely nice and had great communication leading up to us picking it up. Cake tasted amazing. I’m not a cake guy but I liked how dense it was. Not fluffy and messy like some others. We’ll be coming back next year :)

So we used Simply Desserts (aka Caked Goods as that is the name of the company that does catering/wedding cakes) for our wedding cake for our June 2024 wedding. We had 100 guests and AnnaLizza was just amazing. From the cake tasting and giving us all the details all the way to delivery of the cake on the big day, everything was perfect. AnnaLizza was so creative and helped us find a way to blend the flavors we were wanting, and the decor came out exactly how we wanted it to. She even helped perfectly place our cake toppers, which we more on the unique side. Everyone loved both cake flavors and we can't wait to eat the extra on our 1 year anniversary!!! Thank you!!! We have also gone to Simply Desserts to just try their cakes in general before we did an official tasting, and all the cakes have been so delicious every time! I highly recommend!

Google
This place is incredible! The fruit and cream cake, as well at the lemon blueberry cake are outstanding. This might sound a little extreme, but this is the best cake I have ever eaten in my life. This place is family owned by extremely nice and welcoming people and I will 100% be coming back.

Google
They only accept cash or check! I find this quite strange and ended up being disappointed first attempt to eat here, like who carries cash or a checkbook nowadays? Anywho, I went back the next day and ordered the Chocolate Fudge and Banana Amaretto. The display prices were different, but the cashier said both are $6.00 after taxes.. a little strange. The Chocolate Fudge was average, the cake was nice, but the icing wasn't very good. The Banana Amaretto was good - almost like a banana bread with icing, but not very sweet overall. I preferred the Banana Amaretto over the Chocolate Fudge. The interior is OK. It's a small shop where if anyone is waiting in line they need to move in order for you to enter. The seats and tables are pretty bland and don't enhance the experience either. The prices are about $1 too high per slice. Overall, I would say it's a nice place to grab dessert in Fremont, but the pricing and payment policies are inconvenient and the interior could use some love.

Google
Best place in Seattle get cake, tastes like homemade. Last week I came here can got a slice of the lemon blueberry, and it was like changing. So soft, and moist with real blueberries. I’ll be craving this cake for the rest of my existence. The birthday cake and chocolate fudge are also AMAZING. I’ll be coming back for the strawberry white chocolate soon.

Google
I visited sometime after 8pm on a Thursday evening. When I arrived they had sold out of a few of the cakes, but they still had a bunch available. They also had cookies and brownies available to order. The woman working at the time was friendly and happy to answer any questions. I ended up going with a slice of the chocolate mocha cake. It was still moist at 8pm and it tasted just like the one I had from them at a family get-together a few years ago. Neither the chocolate or coffee overpowered the palate and the flavors were balanced well. If I’m looking for good cake in Fremont, I would definitely return.

Google
TIP: Cash or check only. We visited the shop on the spur of the moment after having lunch a block away at Kamakura Sushi, and I'm SO GLAD we had cash handy to pay for our selections. ALL FOUR cake slices we bought were wonderful - moist with luscious "melt-in-your-mouth" buttercream icings and natural flavors. We bought the strawberry cake, lemon-blueberry cake, chocolate hazelnut cake, and chocolate/white chocolate cake. The cream cheese topping on the black-bottom cupcake was too dense and not tasty/sweet enough, but maybe some folks would prefer it. This was a perfect ending to our lunch outing in Fremont.

Yelp
Simply desserts has the BEST German chocolate cake!! I've had my share of cake with and this one is the bomb. Perfect combination of ingredients, not too sweet but rich and packed with flavor. And the girl that helped us was just charming. Not the lowest prices but worth every penny spent. Highly recommend!

Erica K.

Yelp
We've ordered from and eaten at Simply Desserts multiple times over the years, but not since the new ownership. Though the person helping me was kind, the 9" chocolate raspberry rhapsody cake ($86 after tax) I ordered was not anything like I remember. The cake I received was dry, crumbly, and lacking sweetness. There are now three cake layers instead of four, and the now 2 layers of filling were incredibly thin with minimal raspberries within the layers. If you're expecting the old Simply Desserts, this is not it.

Ryan K.

Yelp
Shell of what it was before the new owners took over. The mainstays on the menu we've always gotten are dry, barely any filling, and fewer layers. Sadly, we will need to find a new place to order whole cakes for birthdays and special occasions.

Whitney W.

Yelp
Simply Desserts has been our go-to cake provider for over eight years, but after a recent visit, we are deeply disappointed. Our experience this past Sunday was marred by appalling customer service. Despite the delicious cakes, the encounter left a bitter taste in our mouths. Upon entering with friends and family to continue our birthday celebrations, we were met with unwelcoming restrictions. Despite signage indicating otherwise, the employee insisted on limiting us to two slices of cake per party. This arbitrary rule made no sense, especially considering each person was entitled to two items as per the posted notice. The employee's assumption that we were paying together added insult to injury. Despite our clear explanation, she persisted in enforcing the nonsensical two-slice limit per party. It was both embarrassing and frustrating to be treated in such a condescending manner. Furthermore, the excuse of fearing running out of cake was unfounded and perplexing. As loyal customers, we would expect the business to be thrilled at the prospect of selling out, a sign of their success. However, the display case only boasted two whole cakes, further highlighting the inconsistency of their reasoning. Overall, this experience tarnished what should have been a joyous occasion. Despite the tempting treats, we cannot overlook the disrespectful treatment we received. Sadly, we will not be returning to Simply Desserts after this regrettable encounter.

Yelp
First time back since Covid, I know the owner changed and the economy but.... This was soooo disappointing, it was almost funny. The cake slice was soooo thin(half the original size) and charged us 8 dollars. They also discontinued the pumpkin cake, the best cake this place had to offer. This place lost all the shine. Wont be coming back.

Rachael H.

Yelp
We were hopeful that we had found a place that could possibly compare to our favorite place back in MN (Truffles and Tortes) who makes the best cake we have ever had ---it is light, fluffy, moist with a creamy, light, whipped filling. Unlike other cakes that are ruined with thick, sugary and unappetizing crusty butter cream. This was not that place. The cake was dry and kind of mealy, not light and moist and fresh. I am not sure how long the cakes sat there....but my guess would be days. The filling was good in mine (the strawberry white chocolate), but the frosting was crusty and not good. My sister had the Baileys, and the cake was very dry with somewhat dried out filling. I did find the coffee very good. The service was so/so. They were not very friendly, and I am very against the idea of a food service place not having access to a public bathroom. That is ridiculous. Maybe this was just a bad day. Other reviewers do seem to like the cake, but that was not at all our experience

Elaine G.

Yelp
More of a 3.5 Cash only I loveeee cake, especially chocolate cake! They did not have much options by the time I arrived. I got the Bailey Irish Cream - The flavor was good. It was not too sweet/overwhelming. The cream/frostings were good. The texture of the cake itself was a little on the thicker/dryer side. Maybe it was an off day? For $6?$7? it was decent. The flavors are there for the most part. Would not mind trying their other flavors like Red Velvet or Lemon Blueberry.

Mara B.

Yelp
Love coming here every time we're in Seattle. Love all the cakes they are serving. Still have to try Ube Pandan cake

Dalton M.

Yelp
Before Covid, Simply Desserts was our favorite dessert place ever. But I think they changed owners. The last two times we went there, the cake was not good--one time it was stale. I could not believe that on Valentine's Day, they did not have chocolate cake. We are not going back there.

Tejal B.

Yelp
We were heading back home, with a strong craving to have some goodd chocolate cake, we came across this café suggestion on Yelp. The café is on a busy street with other good eats as well. Finding a parking spot is not easy on a weekend. Their is no parking available in front of the café, we had to make many turns to find one. Its a cute little place, congested if their are more than 8-10 people. I was really looking forward to try their hazelnut flavored cake but it was not made that day it seems. Bummer We got a to go order for:- Chocolate Truffle slice- This mini slice of chocolate cake did hit all the right spots for me. Soft crumb with velvety frosting and ganache. Baileys Irish Cream slice- It was good in taste but not a big fan of the white frosting in the middle. Cafe Latte- I got a tall one with a single shot. It was the perfect sweetness plus roast for me. But is the coffee supposed to be just lukewarm? Cafe Mocha- My better half got this one with double shot. He did not like it that much. Overall, The cake slices we had were indulgent, will be back to try out new flavours not much for the coffee though. The slice for the price that they give is too less.

Jacque C.

Yelp
We continue to go to Simply Desserts because you can literally taste the quality of the ingredients. High quality butter, Belgian chocolate, etc. They've almost spoiled us to go anywhere else because the desserts are so incredible. The Chocolate White Cholate continues to be my fav. And a nice update, now they take debit cards. Sing Hallelujah!!!!

Looc B.

Yelp
What a disappointment. Have not been since Covid, but have been coming here for 20 years for special occasions and when craving good cake. Smaller pieces for almost $9?!?! Dry, super average cake. What happened? What changed???? You gotta fo better.... shameful....

Crystal H.

Yelp
Simply delicious! The cakes were nice and moist and was so good. The ube cake was beautiful. I felt the flavors were a little subtle for the ube but the red velvet and chocolate were top notch. The cream cheese icing for the red velvet was my favorite! The brownie cupcake was so decadent I had to save that to each through out a couple days! But I felt it was even better cold.

Robyn B.

Yelp
Updated to add that I just tried the Caramel Latte cake, one of their specialty cakes, and it is delicious! I usually stick with my faves (strawberry vanilla, orange pumpkin) but decided to try something new and it did not disappoint. They also take credit cards now which is convenient.

Andrea C.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots to grab a slice (or two) of cake! Seriously they're all so good! I especially love the lemon blueberry. And you can never go wrong with red velvet. 10/10 come here if you're in Fremont! TIP: they are cash/check only!

Ruchi M.

Yelp
Used to be good couple of years ago and was my favorite cake bakery in Seattle since I first tried it in 2020. I my favorite (chocolate raspberry cake) again recently and was was super disappointed. It was probably one of the worst cake I have ever had. So dry, too sweet and not as I remember it at all..way less raspberry :(. I guess the new management affected the taste and quality..if anyone has any favorite cake bakeries I'd love some recommendations!

Wilma S.

Yelp
Simply Desserts has been a family tradition for many years supplying cakes for birthdays, weddings, graduations and more. Stopped in today and after ordering 2 slices found out they aren't accepting cash. This is apparently to discourage a break-in, but sadly they don't say anything about not accepting cash on the shop windows or door. Just seems pretty stupid to not take cash so you discourage a robbery, but then forget to tell the potential robber that you don't have cash on the premises. They did take exact change - thank you to PCC for providing change. That will be the last time I go to my old favorite unless they start accepting cash again without having exact change.

Mary N.

Yelp
This used to be my favorite cake shop. I remember stumbling across this place when I was showing a visiting friend around Seattle. We ended up sharing 3 HUGE slices between the both of us (because, why not?). Perhaps I was more nostalgic for a distant memory of overindulging with a friend rather than the experience associated with it. I brought some friends back after raving about it since my first encounter years ago and things just weren't as good as they used to be. Talking so highly of something just for it to disappoint you.. it was hard to recover from the humiliation, truly. Cakes were as big as I remembered but way too dense and a tad dry. Will probably not return.

Erica Z.

Yelp
Cash or check only! Chocolate raspberry 9/10 coated in chocolate or chocolate-y frosting Strawberry 10/10 light and fluffy; frosting is a bit sweet but I scraped off half of the frosting ---- Update: I've tried many more flavors and they never disappoint! My fav by far is still the strawberry cake!

Madie D.

Yelp
DELICIOUS AS ALWAYS I WAS CRAVING THIS LITERALLY ALL DAY AND IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!! Based on my past visits and consultation with the staff, here is the current recommended ranking of our top three picks for those of you as indecisive as I am: 1. Birthday cake (literally so moist and tall, the perfect amount of sprinkles, and not overly sweet as expected) 2. Lemon blueberry (it's literally featured in an article about the best desserts in Seattle) 3. Orange carrot (apparently it is fall in a cake with the perfect spice combo of the two flavors) I have yet to try the strawberry white chocolate and red velvet but have heard great things. Apparently there are exclusive special flavors on the weekends, which is a fun fact I'm afraid to know. I'll be back soon!!

Chandra P.

Yelp
I searched top bakeries within the area on serval platforms and Simply Desserts was a reoccurring bakery. Customer service was really great, I called a week prior to the day I wanted to pick the cake up to place the order. She informed me the pick up time, and cash only preference; my order was ready at the exact time she provided. The strawberry white chocolate cake was extremely moist, easy to slice, not too sweet, and filled with fresh strawberries. A cake that tastes better overtime is a WIN!! Overall, a wonderful cake that we all enjoyed and are looking forward to trying to the flavors in the future; I highly recommend!!!

Nancy H.

Yelp
I am soooo disappointed. This has been my favorite cake place for 20+ years The cake slices were very dry and icing was definitely not as good. And for $9 /slice the pieces were much smaller than they used to be. I am so sad. This was the best. Wonder if there are new owners or the ingredients have been changed. Please bring back your good cake

Taylor Y.

Yelp
Maybe I'm not a fake person but I don't really give in to the hype. Yes, they're definitely delicious and decadent emphasis on the decadent. I usually don't like my desserts overly sweet so this might just be my preference speaking. I tried the hazelnut, birthday cake, and strawberry flavors. I whole heartedly agree that the strawberry is the best but again was just overwhelmingly sweet for me. The good thing about that is that one piece of cake lasted several days shared with my husband. It's also still cash (or check) only which I have to consciously think about since I normally don't have any cash on me.

Roxanne R.

Yelp
Simply desserts offers really great tasting birthday cakes. The price is on the higher side - around $54 for a round birthday cake that would probably feed 12 -15 people. The plus side is the cake is tasty and delicious. The cost is as I mentioned a bit on the higher side but you get a Cake that Tastes like it came from your grandmas kitchen. Negative side and this is opinion only. The cakes are not aesthetically pleasing. No fancy flowers or perfect icing designs. Was actually a bit disappointed in the writing on top that said happy birthday and looked a little on "cake maker in training" side perhaps. First bakery job type writing. We forgot to hire a cake designer writing. But hey, as I said the taste is good. So if the ribbons and Roses are your things with your guests saying "that's a beautiful cake" at your next party, maybe this isn't your place. But if you want a nice high quality and Delicious tasting cake that reminds you of your favorite family kitchen this is your place.

Adam K.

Yelp
A year ago, or ownership ago this would be an easy 5 star rating. My family has been coming here for decades and it is literally the only cake I can actually stomach and think is delicious.. however, I'm afraid this establishment may be headed in the wrong direction.. the flavor is more or less the same, but the quality and obvious Penny pinching just drives me away. The chocolate white chocolate used to have much more icing between layers. It used to be COVERED in chocolate shavings. Now? You get barely any shavings on it. I was really rooting on the new owners since I love the place to death, but sadly have to give a 3/5 review today. Also, note that they are currently understaffed so you are limited to two of x items. Hope they revert back soon, or this is going to go from an amazing place for dessert, to some sort of boutique in the coming year. Update: Cake is incredibly dry now and was not enjoyable.

Shania G.

Yelp
Came in to wait out of dinner reservation time. The cakes looked so good and for a cheap price too! Can't wait to take a bite of the blueberry cheesecake!

Kellie B.

Yelp
Like my grandma made!! I have never run across a bakery that used real ingredients and put in the time to make real food, such a delight.

Francesca S.

Yelp
Highly addicting and will satisfy any late night cravings. I got to try their lemon blueberry cake and although I haven't had much experience with lemon blueberry cake, this is my favorite lemon blueberry cake. Ok that sounds a little absurd, but once you try this place, you'll find yourself suddenly craving some lemon blueberry cake randomly throughout the day. Can't wait to try their other flavors !

Kat L.

Yelp
They have a good selection of cakes by the slice with great flavor. I have tried multiple flavors, but I like the strawberry cake the best which seems to be the signature cake. There is fresh strawberry in the frosting between the cake layers. There is a lot of sweet frosting on the cakes, about 1/3-1/2 that I eventually throw away. The cake is most moist on the first day, and becomes dry by the 2nd day. Flavors that I have tried and are good: Chocolate White Chocolate Cake, Red Velvet Cake, Chocolate Caramel Cake, Birthday Cake, Lemon Blueberry Cake, Orange Pumpkin Cake, and Chocolate Fudge Cake. They only take cask or check. I ordered a full cake for a birthday. They can definitely improve upon the presentation. The cake appeared sloppy and rushed. One of the strawberries was falling off the edge. The frosting was obviously uneven and seemed rushed. The writing is worse than a 4th grader's. The cake was almost an hour late after my pick up time. I would recommend having your pick up time for 1 to 1 1/2 hours before your intended pick up time.

Tea T.

Yelp
It's almost always closed.. Idk how they pay their rent. I've tried to patronize thai business 3 times in the last 2 weeks..

Ashli A.

Yelp
The strawberry cake is especially good, moist and perfectly dense. The white chocolate bits and fresh strawberries are such a good balance. Going to have one of these cakes at my wedding, so tasty!

Alvin L.

Yelp
Simply Desserts - we have ordered two cakes from here now and both were really good. These cakes are meant to be shared :) First - we had the strawberry white chocolate cake. This was probably my favorite of the two that we had. The cake was moist, fluffy, light, and just delicious. I would highly recommend. The second cake that we had was the chocolate / white chocolate cake. This cake was good as well - very rich, I would pair it with a cup of coffee or milk. The bakery is fairly small and in the heart of Fremont. There isn't parking out front as it's on a busy street so you will have to find street parking (I was able to find parking 2-3 blocks away the last two outings - both on weekends so it's just a short walk).

Sandra H.

Yelp
Last night, I gifted myself with a red velvet cake. The triumph of sugar and flour transformed the dark and rainy night into a marvelous night! The cake was everything. The cream cheese frosting was dense and decadent, and the cake was moist and spongy. It was exactly what I look for as I always crave simplicity in my desserts. Simply Desserts proved to me that cake is more than a sweet treat. It's a chance to celebrate and deepen bonds of love. Can't wait to try their other flavors!

Maryam K.

Yelp
I've been waiting to submit a review to rave about every flavor but I couldn't hold back. Literally the best cake in Seattle - I *crave* these slices and luckily it's open nights to satisfy the sweet tooth! A few I've tried through pictures: Orange Blackberry (seasonal and my fav to date), Lemon Blueberry (a must even for non-lemon lovers), and Chocolate White Chocolate. The downside? The price is steep for a slice of cake but so worth it.

Chelsia L.

Yelp
Super moist red velvet cake! I'll come back to try their other cakes soon! I also noticed that there really aren't a lot of cake shops in Seattle...

Alisha M.

Yelp
The best cake I have ever eaten and I'm a cake addict lol The chocolate truffle cake is my everything! Since moving to Seattle I have had the exact cake every time. I've tried the others and they are so delicious but this is a favorite The cakes are so moist and rich. It is cash only so don't forget to take cash. Couldn't recommend it more.

Roxanna Z.

Yelp
Cash or check only!!! Came here on a weekend right when they opened bc I was half expecting there to be a line but lucky me, it was just me. I was a little surprised that some of the cakes in the cases had slices missing or only had like a quarter remaining. I am not sure if they were cakes from the previous day or if someone came before me. (I arrived a few min after opening.) I went for the cakes that were uncut just to be safe with the exception of the cheesecake. Simple packaging on a paper plate, then she seran wrapped the plate and into a paper lunch bag it went. They only take cash/check so make sure you are prepared. I assumed they took card so got lucky again when I had 20$ in my wallet. Lol. I got home and unwrapped my cakes and they all looked great still. Got a slice of the chocolate white chocolate, blueberry lemon, and berry cheesecake. Cakes were all moist. I think both frostings were white chocolate buttercream. It was a little on the sweet side for me so I had quite a bite of left over frosting. But I thought the cakes were great. Nice big slices and it felt like I was eating a yummy cake someone home baked for me. The cheesecake was ok, but I preferred the cakes more.

Ballard G.

Yelp
Sadly the Simply Desserts that has held a place in my heart for almost the past 20 years no longer exists. We went in recently, unawares that anything had changed, but the fact that they now take cards should have been the first sign. When we ate the cake that night, we knew something had irrevocably changed. It was nothing like we remembered. I have so many great memories that include Simply Desserts...celebrating birthdays, new jobs, promotions, our marriage(!) Mother's Days, etc. It would be naive to expect that it would never change but this one was a gut punch for sure. Goodbye Simply Desserts of yesterday. We'll never forget you.

Kiana C.

Yelp
I will keep it simple and sweet - Simply Desserts is my favorite dessert place in Seattle. For $4.75-$6 you can get a huge slice of delicious cake or cheesecake. They have a great variety of flavors, but my favorites are: raspberry blueberry cheesecake, chocolate caramel cake, strawberry cake with white chocolate ganache, bittersweet hazelnut cake, and birthday cake. I have never had anything bad from here, only good and great cakes. I love that they are open relatively late for a bakery (9:30pm) and even when I go in the evening they usually have a lot of stuff left. The business is cash only so make sure you bring cash. They are also closed on Mondays.

Arabelle M.

Yelp
We were nearby the area, and so lucky to have time to stop by this place. They only accept cash or check. Small little dessert place. Many different cake flavor options. We opted for a slice of their strawberry cream cake and chocolate caramel cake. So delicious. Not too sweet, not to dense, moist, flavorful. Very good. Highly recommend!! You will not be disappointed at all.

Rebecca W.

Yelp
My favorite cake spot in the city! Honestly all the cakes here taste amazing. My favorite cake flavor is the lemon blueberry cake -- super spongy, light, and not overly sweet. I normally don't like frosting either, but their frosting isn't too heavy and thick either, which is great. Their other flavors are also delicious, such as the red velvet, strawberry cake with white chocolate ganache, and funfetti. The only downside about this spot is cash only... so definitely remember to bring some cash next time you come. Don't worry though, I'd say the prices are pretty reasonable and despite the inconvenience of no credit cards, it's worth trying out. You won't be disappointed :)

Salena C.

Yelp
Simply Desserts serves cake slices, and cake slices are my favorite thing in the world, so obviously this was a must while in Seattle! Upon walking in, we were able to order immediately, which I was so surprised about on a Friday evening! Many other reviews have talked about a line, so I must have been extremely lucky on my visit! There were MANY different cake flavors to choose from (upwards of 8!) and plenty of seating if you want to stay and enjoy. Now, I'm not too big on birthday cake flavored things, but after seeing so many people get that at Simply Desserts, I felt compelled to order that... and it was phenomenal. It honestly wasn't overly sweet, but the buttercream was so decadent and rich, and it was a HUGE slice! I wish Chicago would open a place similar! Something that solely specializes in whole and (more importantly!) individual slices of cake would make it big! Until then, I guess I'll travel to Seattle and eat at Simply Desserts! :)

Amanda C.

Yelp
Oh no! Simply Desserts is under new ownership and it's not the same anymore. The cakes are so dry and crumbly. I'm so sad.

Shweta T.

Yelp
I stopped in rather late one afternoon and grabbed a slice of Irish cream and strawberry white chocolate at the suggestion of my neighbor. I'm still thinking about this cake weeks later. Truly. I'm a baker myself and am so curious about how they have made such a gorgeous set of cakes. Maybe I'll order a whole one for my upcoming birthday. Yum!

A L.

Yelp
We have been lucky to enjoy the treats at Simply Desserts, for birthdays or in person visits, for many years!

S L.

Yelp
I used to live in the area and loved coming here years ago so when I visited Seattle again, this was on my list of places to go back to. I've heard that they have new ownership and assumed they would keep all the original recipes but I was wrong. The cakes are so dry and crumbly now which is absolutely not worth the $8 price tag. When I used to go here, the cakes tasted very fresh and moist but now they just taste artificial and not at all something that was baked at the shop. They also only had around 4 cake flavors which I thought was odd since we got there only 2 hours after they opened and I remember they used to always have an assortment of cakes. It's very unfortunate how this place has gone downhill and I hope they bring back the original cakes.

Dana M.

Yelp
we came back because we were in the area. I still wasn't impressed and this time they were only taking cash or checks. They're busy so people really love their cakes but something fell short for me and the hubby. --

Yelp
I have never been disappointed by this dessert shop. Hey, maybe at the end of the day they may have less slices available than you need but it's still an amazing variety. Not to mention the employees are super cool and always are interested to meet you. Quick note, they only except cash or check

Yelp
We've been buying cakes there since 2004 and always bought the chocolate white chocolate which has always been incredible. Today I picked up a chocolate white chocolate cake and it was really dry. The taste and quality of the cake has really diminished from when I purchased one last year. I was extremely disappointed and won't be going back again.
