"Sin Muerte just oozes cool. Located in a 1937 mission-style building and former funeral home, its origins lend a helping hand to its now dark and moody interior. The restaurant’s vegan-friendly menu draws inspiration from the cuisines and cultures that sit along the 33rd parallel — paying homage to its home base of Phoenix while incorporating flavors from around the globe. The must-haves include the shakshuka, lychee ceviche, and mushroom fundido." - Mcconnell Quinn

"Sin Muerte comes from the team behind Welcome Diner and Belly. This spot draws inspiration from regions and cuisines found throughout the 33rd parallel, and it’s not uncommon to find the influence of the Sonoran Desert, Israel, Morocco, or coastal Italy on the same plate. For example, there’s hummus with pico de gallo, corn pasta with creamy cashew sauce, plus brined lychee ceviche topped with chili oil—an unlikely combo, but surprisingly perfect together, like whale noises and a good night’s sleep." - Lauren Topor

Tried this restaurant and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere! Great vegan spot and lots of food options, drinks are great too. Would recommend the Bugs Honey drink and the Mushroom Walnut ragu. Our favorite dish was the yogurt date hummus and fresh pita. All the food is very tasty and will fill you up but not too heavy. The only thing I would improve is our service time, the servers were very nice but our meals took a long time. Several people got their food before us and there were only two of us dining. However we will be returning because the food was that good!

Happened to walk in after a heavy happy hour not too far from here. I was curious, since it’s fairly still new-ish. Yes, it was empty when I arrived, so I was immediately seated by a very friendly young lady. Starting off, the service and attention was great. Once our drinks came, being that a larger group had arrived at the same time, took a bit longer but it was worth the wait. Our drinks were absolutely delicious—not too sweet…just right. Our appetizer was full of flavor, our food was delicious. Of course, even aesthetically pleasing but all of our dishes were incredible. Keep in mind, this is a vegetarian and vegan joint; which I’m not even remotely close to being vegetarian. And even then, I will definitely be returning here. Not just because the food and drinks were amazing, but because (even when understaffed), the service was wonderful.

Sin Muerte is a restaurant from Instrumental Hospitality that also owns Belly. It offers vegan and vegetarian foods from across one particular latitude. In keeping with their menu philosophy, the foods are very flavorful and interesting and the cocktails are well matched and innovative as well. There is a large section of hot and cold dips which are accompanied by freshly baked pita with a lovely char. There are mainly small dishes but there’s also larger dishes which are pastas. The interior is nice and dark and seating is via church pews. There’s also a great bar section.

Went last night for an early valentine dinner and it was a nice experience. The staff was friendly and helpful, the restaurant was very unique with an goth monastery vibe and the food was wonderful. We couldn't decide on a pita dip so we ordered two hot and two cold. The chickpea was great as was the caramelized eggplant and the cashew yogurt with dates. I had the mushroom ragu pasta which was good and the hubby had the creamy mushroom pasta which was better. They also have some interesting wine choices. We will be back.

Google
Moody restaurant & bar with vegetarian menu. Service was amazing. We had spicy margaritas with dehydrated citrus salted rim. Concept is food near the 37th(?) latitude line with Mediterranean flare. Stopped in for Sunday afternoon drinks & had the Hummus & Cherry Tomato Pico with Naan bread. It was very good. Pasta from local supplier Sonoran Pasta Co. Great date night place and nice patio for when it gets cooler out. Just south of Churchill.

Google
Beautiful. Perfect vegetarian food. It's a really nice evocative space, dark and atmospheric. The drinks are delicious. The food is sensational, do not leave without having the crispy onion things - absolutely perfect. The cacio e pepe was also brilliant. Wait staff also really polite and helpful. Pricey but not excessive.

Was in the area and decided to check it out. I’m so glad that I did. At the time that I went, they just had the brunch menu and they have a separate menu for dinner. I tried the Hummus with Mushroom and Walnut Ragu, ratatouille, cabbage and a chai latte with oat milk. Two of the dishes that I ordered came with the freshest pita that you’ll ever taste. Everything tasted fresh and had full flavor. I’m definitely going back again.

Google
The food - all veggie and vegan - at Sin Muerte is out of this world! We loved everything we ate - including the hatch green chilli falafel and SENSATIONAL fried onion strings, the walnut and smoked mushroom ragu and pasta and the sweet fig fry bread. Great cocktails, friendly service and a stylish interior make this a really fun stop in Phoenix. Wouldn’t hesitate to return!

Yelp
My friends and I had the most enjoyable experience here this evening. Sin Muerte has one of the most thoughtfully curated menus I've seen in a long time. Our server, Augusta, truly made the evening even better. She was friendly, kind and checked on us accordingly throughout the evening. She kindly accommodated us when we mentioned that we didn't like one particular entree. Our table didn't care for the Mushroom Ragu Pasta, but that was just us- I don't want to deter others from trying it. We loved everything we ordered (minus one pasta) and the standouts for me were: -Fries -Date & Cashew Yogurt Dip -Mixed Green Salad -Belly Sticky Rice The pita bread was perfect and I highly recommend ordering an extra one or two to go with your dips- it's worth the extra charge. I can't wait to come back and try more items on their menu. The space is fun and decorated well, with so much attention to presentation and details.

Yelp
Okay so this place was SUPER cool! Really loved the atmosphere, and the service was awesome. The bartender had great suggestions for cocktails. I ordered the sweet corn cocktail and I was shocked at how good it was. It was one of the best balanced cocktails I've had in a while. It was surprisingly light and refreshing. THE PITAS. Let me tell ya. Omg I would order a dozen of those to eat alone. They're f****** delicious. Someone call Action Bronson. I can't wait to go back to try the rest of their menu!

Yelp
This is one of my new favorite spots! Vegetarian mostly vegan food and all of it is very unique! I had trouble deciding since everything looked so good but luckily mark was amazing and helped give great choices!! I had the cantaloupe and the eggplant dip and both were wonderful choices. Thank you mark your service was outstanding! The drinks were also so interesting and delicious, I tried the one with carrot in it and they also had a promo girl with dobel so I got to enjoy tequila as well! The inside is dark and moody and I love it, overall amazing place and can't wait to be back

Yelp
What do I really like? The decor, ambiance, and service. It's dark and rustic with a slight old church theme to it. Some of the vegan entrees are quite good - the smoked mushroom and walnut ragu was quite good. What's just okay? Not great value for the price. Tried the plain hummus and honestly thought it wasn't anything special. Same thing with the loaded fries entrée. Portion size is definitely on the smaller side which knocks it down a star.

Yelp
Been thinking about how to write this review. Seems like a cool place, but have yet to eat there because the kitchen closed early both times and the drinks were severely heavy on the pour. We went for the reverse happy hour with the classic cocktails (that is no more). The alcohol used was very basic and gave me a severe headache the next day (only had two drinks). We went on another occasion, happy hour menu had changed so we looked at the drinks on the menu. The font used is very hard to read and there are so many ingredients in some of the drinks listed, my anxiety got the best of me and I got what seemed like spritzer for $13. It was merely okay. With the amount of craft cocktail bars in the downtown Phoenix area, it's no wonder why this spot is generally empty after 9pm on the weekends.

Yelp
Tried this restaurant and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Was in the area I had passed by this places dozens of times and decided to check it out. I'm so glad that I did. The staff are welcomongl, the restaurant has a unique goth monastery vibe and the food and drinks are amazing. Came in not knowing Sin Muerte was a vegetarian restaurant. However, I didn't leave disappointed. The entrees are flavorful, unique, and the cocktails are well matched. I really enjoyed the section of hot and cold dips with freshly charged baked pita bread, delicious. The hummus is amazing and the falafel was some of the best I've ever had. I think the Mushroom and Walnut Humus Ragu was my favorite. If you're in the area give this place a try. Staff is amazing, food is delicious, and the service is great.

Yelp
This is certainly a unique place. The building was once a funeral home which led to this exchange. Me: "This used to be a funeral home." Her: "So you know the over is good." Me: "The cooler too." After the necessary dark humor, we enjoyed a few dishes and some cocktails. I want to give major props to ownership for the menu simplicity. For cocktails, they are all $13. All wine is $12 or $45 for a bottle. This is so refreshing in the era of the ridiculous $16 and up cocktails you find all over town. The cocktails were very good, especially the Deja-Brew. The food, too, was great. This is a vegetarian restaurant so you won't find meat but you will find flavor. The fresh pita that is served with the dips (we tried the eggplant and the ragu - both excellent) stole the show. Very good food, good value, and a unique location are all positives. The downside was the staff was bit overwhelmed and it took a long time to get drinks and put in an order. I'd certainly go back.

Victoria G.

Yelp
Upon arrival, the restaurant seemed pretty empty but we waited in the entrance for about 5 minutes before getting assisted. Our server said someone had called out. I ordered a Mai tai and my guest ordered a lemonade. He liked the lemonade but I thought the cocktail was too strong. We ordered lots of food. They brought us the wrong pasta and remade it and took it off the bill. We agreed the food was just ok and not really anything we would feel the need to go back for. It is a nice upscale vibe which is lacking in the Phoenix vegetarian/vegan scene. But the food was not really good in our opinion. I also don't understand why they are not all vegan. They have egg and some cheese on their menu...why not go all the way?! So, takeaway is it's not our favorite. Hope you try it and love it.

Sabine T.

Yelp
This place is now closed, but I'm hoping the review can help some customers keep an eye out and turn to the next cool establishment the team chooses to open in this beautiful historic building (I heard they have something in the works and I can't wait to find out what they come up with). Really cool ambiance, food and drinks all were excellent, and the attention to detail was superb. The whole experience was very positive, and the building - from the stained glass to the decor - only added to it!

Yelp
I was surprised not to be more enthused and satisfied with Sin Muerte overall. The entire motif and idea (ambiance) of the restaurant is cool. It's dark, kind of a sexy date night place, tall ceilings, rustic looking chandeliers, overall pretty cool. There is a letter to patrons on one side of the menu which I personally appreciated - it explains where it's coming from, the concept, and I love that. They use local ingredients that are ethically sourced and natural wine (which was new to me) and I did want to try but was more enticed by their cocktails. They were very good, by the way, for all their unique ingredients, so I'll give them that. The food did taste healthy, and good. But I wasn't blown away by the flavors. We got the yogurt, Mushroom Fundido, the Butternut Squash, Corn Pasta, and we asked for pita bread (which you pay more for, it doesn't just come with the apps), and they all had hearty flavors, but similar to the drinks, a lot, a lot of ingredients. Overall flavors were good but not to die for. Service was great, although also, the menu and kitchen "close" at 10, and they have a Happy Hour menu after that with limited food items (basically the app menu with 1 or 2 more items). I shared a lovely meal and drink with a dear friend and I'm glad we tried it but I don't see myself running back here because I HAVE to have more.

Yelp
Tried this place out for the first time last night. Atmosphere was really nice. A lot of larger tables and smaller booths on the side. I was with three other people so we took a smaller booth. We ordered a bunch of the food and I will honestly say I enjoyed about 70% of it. In some dishes it felt like components were undercooked or over seasoned. The appetizers were good for the most part. Only the lychee ceviche was off putting. When all the pastas came only the ragu dish was good in my opinion. When the desserts came neither were very good. We had the sticky rice with spiced apples and the bread pudding. I'd definitely go back but would know

Yelp
My friend and I really enjoyed this restaurant. The fundido was delicious. The drinks were also on point. I just heard they were closing down this week, which is a real bummer cuz they were very good.

Christine T.

Yelp
First of all, I love this restaurant. I've been a couple of times and everything I have tried is good. It's also vegan. The servers are all very nice and the ambiance fits the name. I had the Green Drink Cocktail and the Cashew Yogurt Dip. They were both really good. I highly recommend both. And the pita's are homemade and honestly the best I have tasted. Go check it out. It's a great place.

Ryen B.

Yelp
Love this place so much. New items on the menu since my last visit. Hummus and the cashew yogurt dips with pita are still some of my faves. I didn't love the mushroom calamari, but the melon/fennel dish with fermented pineapple sauce was AMAZING. The "I'll Dew Another" drink was fab, same for the tequilla/bitters drink. Our server was awesome, taking great care of us even on a busy night. Highly recommend.

Abayomi O.

Yelp
Food was delicious, this spot mainly serves vegan options and the pasta was delicious. I also recommend the falafel and spicy string beans for appetizers, both really packed with flavor and was fresh. Overall service was great no issues there and the location looks like a old church refurbished to classy and cool restaurant. Definitely can bring a date here

Ana R.

Yelp
Gothic elegance has arrived in Phoenix! If your aesthetic is broody, simple elegance and gothic then you're gonna love this place. Did I mention that your vegetarian and gluten free friends are going to be thrilled you took them here? With an open space dining room with several tables you can sit down with a group to enjoy unique cocktails and elevated bar snacks. Ooo mami: this drink has vegan fish sauce and it's delicious. It's also dangerous because the alcohol is so well masked that you could have 2 or 5 of these like if you were drinking a glass of lemonade. Highly recommend. I also had several of the appetizers here's what I thought: Mushroom fundido: 3/5 It's good, but since the flavor profile of the mushrooms is very mild it feels underwhelming. I almost wish it had chorizo in it. Comes with some delicious naan-type bread Elote: 4/5 Traditional elote on a cob. Makes it a bit hard to share if you're with a group. Crispy onion strings: 3/5 Like the kind that you would have on your burger, but as an appetizer. Crispy broccoli: 5/5 This was surprisingly good. Try it and see, that's all I'm going to say.

Tan L.

Yelp
My favorite vegetarian restaurant in the valley! The enoki mushroom calamari was excellent and tasted surprisingly similar to calamari, but with more likable texture. The mushroom and walnut ragu was great as well and even tasted better than most non-vegetarian ragu I've had. My only complaint is that it came out lukewarm - almost at room temperature. The ambiance is so cool and unique. Being in a former funeral home, the place is as dark as my soul. One suggestion though - I think the light from the kitchen is a bit too bright and slightly disrupts the vibe the place is going for. Will definitely be back!

Alicia W.

Yelp
This place is great. The only reason I'm giving it 4 starts instead of 5 is because the service was a little slow and I think it's a tad bit pricey. The food is great though, the location is nice, the ambiance is cute too. Dogs are allowed as long as you sit on the patio and they have heaters. This place is best enjoyed with another person or a group of people. Order lots of dishes to share. I'll def be coming back for me. Esp bc I want to try the late night menu.

Zuriel L.

Yelp
Sooooooooo sooo good. Vibes were immaculate. I appreciate the interior design, music was chill, and service was quick & attentive! Sat at the bar - I didn't have to wait too long for food. I had Elote as an appetizer but it's not pictured since I destroyed it so fast. Loved the sauces that came with it. Wasn't overpowering. I'm typically not a big spice person but I love margaritas so I decided to try this drink. It's not tooooo spicy. Does have a little kick. Smoked Mushroom and Walnut Ragu - absolutely delicious. Finished my whole plate.

Graciela V.

Yelp
The ambiance - 5 stars There are plenty of delicious vegan options. The falafel : best I have ever had. The mushroom calamari : amazing! Service was great, even with only one staff member serving the entire restaurant during early lunch.

Abhishek S.

Yelp
Great location & excellent ambiance...!! Their service is professional and the quality and selection of cocktails is top notch...!!

Yelp
My vegetarian and vegan friends are LOVING Sin Muerte! Their cocktails are great and I love their specialty mocktails as well. One thing that really impressed us was when I ordered a Sin-Dori Sour, they asked if I wanted that with egg white or aquafaba. Just another way they make sure their menu is ~without death~. Being a cocktail gal, I tried most of the specialty drinks and they're excellent. My favorite by far is the Deja-Brew which is their version of an espresso martini, but with cinnamon, clove, coffee liqeuer, cold brew, oat milk, lillet blanc, and fernet vallet. It's excellent. Ooo Mami is another favorite. They also offer mocktails, fresh grapefruit juice, tepache, and a Health Shot. What is a health shot? Well, you can get your favorite spirit with ginger, tumeric, cayenne, and orange. We got it without the alcohol to celebrate our friend's birthday. A great shot to cheers "to her health!" It was so refreshing! Food-wise, my favorite was the caramelized eggplant and cashew yogurt. So good! People have already mentioned that you are charged for pita if it doesn't already come with your items. Our mushroom fundido did include two pita, but we had three at our table at the time, so we had to pay for the additional pita. And only one per person was not enough. I wish there were chips to have something crunchy to bite into. Most of our foods were pretty soft. I need that texture difference. The Lychee Ceviche was exceptionally small and was probably our only disappointment. The corn pasta was heavier than anticipated, but still good. The pickles were really good! I look forward to trying that broccolini next.

Ashley V.

Yelp
Sin Muerte is located in a great spot and I enjoyed the ambiance, the service, and the food. I will say the drinks we got were pretty gross. The mimosa was basically all orange juice with a splash of champagne and the Bloody Mary was the worst I've ever had. It tasted like pure Worcestershire sauce. I came here with my friend for brunch and I might return again for lunch or dinner but probably not brunch. I love having a Bloody Mary with brunch and would never order one ever again from here. Points for good food and friendly staff.

Mikey R.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the food. The fresh pita is fantastic. I never want to eat dense tough store bought pita ever again. This is a great place for appetizers alone. The cantaloupe and fennel is delicious. The tepache is canned, flavorless, and lame. It's a disappointment in an otherwise great menu. Sin Muerta is painfully cool. I came here after running some errands. I was sweaty, wearing a dad hat, and workout shorts. The waitress was rude to me the entire time. I don't know if it's because I was dressed or if she thought it would get her a better tip. It put a bad taste in my mouth after such a good meal.

Alex B.

Yelp
Love a new veggie/vegan place opening up and the decor inside! Parking is a little bit of a hassle but that's just part of it being downtown. I could definitely see myself sitting and chatting here for hours, but the prices didn't match portion size and quality for me personally. This is somewhere I might go occasionally for conversation, but not a night out.

Sheila M.

Yelp
I am in town for a girls trip and we decided to come here for dinner. I am not vegan or vegetarian and this was a delightful satisfying meal! First off, our server Augusta was so helpful, kind, and knowledgeable with all the dishes on the menu. She took the time to help us decide our dishes and everything she recommended was absolutely delicious. She is a true gem! For drinks, I ordered the non alcoholic Tepache prickly pear. This was delicious and refreshing and instead of just bringing out the can, they put it in a fun wine glass for me! We ordered the Cantaloupe and Shaved Fennel Salad and Mixed Green Salad. Both were so refreshing!! The Cantaloupe and Fennel were so fresh and the flavors in this salad were so unique. This was probably my favorite dish! The Mixed Greens salad was also extremely tasty and fresh with the most delicious dressing! We also ordered a few dips, Green Shakshuka, Carmelized Eggplant, and the Date and Cashew Yogurt. These are all must haves and come with the most delicious homemade pitas! All the flavors are so different and all amazing. In addition, we ordered the Mushroom Calamari and the Smoked Mushroom Walnut Ragu. The mushroom calamari was also a hit and we didn't care much for the Ragu although it could have just been our taste. I say this because literally everything else we ordered was nothing less than perfect. Lastly, for dessert we ordered the Belly Sticky rice and OMG, do yourself a favor and don't pass on this. The texture is similar to a mango sticky rice but with seasonal fruit on top and tonight it was strawberry jam on top and I can't say enough about how amazing this was! I should add that after voicing our dislike for the Ragu, the manager and Augusta were kind enough to remove the dish off our bill and were genuinely interested in our feedback. Overall, an amazing experience with great service, great food and great ambience! I definitely recommend coming here and we will definitely be back!

Chanele R.

Yelp
I loved to see a new veg restaurant open up in my favorite neighborhood, and Sin Muerte is interesting to say the least. Built in an old funeral parlor, it has a dark charm to it from the moment you walk in. The outdoor seating area is great, too, with plenty of heaters for cool nights. While there may be ambiance by the buckets, there is still a little room for growth, and the night we were there, they definitely showed some growing pains. It was not a perfect 5-star experience, although to their credit, they recognized this and apologized multiple times. Not once, but twice, items we ordered were not communicated internally correctly, resulting in very long waits. (It took 30 minutes to get our first round of drinks, and one of the dishes we ordered took so long that they took it off our bill.) But that was spotty, and most of our food came out in a timely fashion. It just felt unpredictable if we ordered more when it would come. We ended up spending over 2 hours there, which is a lot considering we did tapas and drinks - for two people! Also, it was unclear what they had and what they didn't have. Several of the menu items were either not available or had been changed (beet carpaccio in place of mushroom carpaccio, no pickles, etc). It would have been better to have been informed up front what was not available rather than the hit and miss game we played. The food itself ranges from good to really good, although be warned that if you are really hungry or you have a big appetite generally, this might not be the right place for you. The portion-to-price ratio is not great, and you will find yourself paying $10-15 for small plates... emphasis on the small (the lychee ceviche, for example, was quite petite). Between the two of us, we ended up ordering eight dishes - and we definitely paid for it, but it was a special occasion, the food was good, and our server was really nice, despite the hiccups (that were largely not her fault). The highlights were the elote, crispy onion strings, beet carpaccio, and crispy broccolini. The only thing we ordered I didn't personally care for was the salted cabbage and herbs, but only because it was very spicy, which the name and description did not prepare me for. But overall, there are no complaints about the presentation or taste of the food. Would I go back? Definitely!

Dominick D.

Yelp
This was a unique experience for me in the sense that I was somewhat scared of Tapas till I ate here. This is a experience that reminds me of the first time I waited in line at the trailer of Welcome Diner or the first time I walked into Belly and felt the heavy vibe of something fresh and new. The team behind these wonderful restaurants has not disappointed me yet and I always look forward to the next concept. Some reviewers have expressed that the portions are small even for tapas. I left full and was impressed by the fact that I could not finish everything. On the website it explains that its meant to be 3-4 dishes per person, I agree with this. Though I've always thought that I would rather have a small portion of something ridiculously tasty then a large portion of something disappointing. Some items on this menu are so perfectly put together I just was in amazement while eating it. When food is so balanced and thought out it becomes more of an experience than just eating dinner. The pita alone is worth the trip it is so fresh and delicious. I think a lot of people are gonna love this restaurant for the pita alone. The caramelized eggplant was on another level of deliciousness actually my favorite dish of 2022. The squash dish was beautifully arranged layers of flavors I loved that the spiciness snuck up on me. The walnut Ragu hummus was absolutely divine tomato smokiness with meatiness of the walnuts with the layer of hummus under it was fantastic. The classic hummus was also great. I do love the texture of what they did with the hummus. The mushroom fundido was so interesting and multi textured and a really nice spice level. The cheese on that dish was outstanding. The onion strings were somewhere where they exceeded the level that was impressive. It was so perfectly seasoned and it was a tad spicy but with the addition of the tahini, it mellowed it into a beautiful dish. The only dishes that I was slightly disappointed in was the stewed chickpeas. I felt that it maybe needed a little bit of saltiness or seasoning. The fresh salad on top was very good though . The walnut Ragu was very acidic while it was still delicious. Overall, I left very happy the team behind these restaurants has always exceeded my expectations and they continue to do so. Is it tapas? Yes, it is tapas but it's some of the tastiest things in the tapas dish you can eat.

Nikita P.

Yelp
This place is located next to the Churchill (a little hard to find). Cute little spot with a rustic/darkened room ambience and some pretty cool concoctions and tapas like menu. First impression was great. The menu descriptions are phenomenal however the food didn't exactly live up to the hype. There's definitely potential. Things our food lacked include that extra dash of seasoning, salt, pepper, spice. Hope the chef is able to improve on these few items to make dining here a better experience next time.

Desiree D.

Yelp
We were lucky enough to go check this new vegetarian/vegan restaurant out on opening night. The interior reminded me of a rustic/moody mission-style church. Hands down the best thing was the homemade brick oven pita. It came out hot and went perfectly with the hummus. I love how there were mainly small plates that you could try a lot of and share with the table. The sliced apple, red onion, cumin seed and fennel vinegar was tart and delicious. The crispy broccolini was tasty even though it would've been nice to have a knife to cut it with. The corn pasta was good but needed a little more flavor to compete with everything else. The drinks were light and refreshing and service was great. Especially since it was their first night.

Vanessa F.

Yelp
Everything was great ! Food drinks service all of it :) would def come back Caramelized EggplantEnoki Mushroom Calamari

Paige L.

Yelp
"Sliced apple, red onion, cumin seed, fennel vinegar" is very good. It's literally exactly what it says it is. Small portion but only $ 6. Would order again! "Hummus with mushroom and walnut Ragu" is TO DIE FOR. The pita is AMAZING. We finished the pita and I told my bf I wanted to lick the plate.. but I managed to resist. "Cashew yogurt, local dates, honey, flake salt" was delicious!! I had planned on getting a dessert but it was just sweet enough and I was full enough that I didn't feel the need anymore. The crispy onion strings were good but nothing to get too excited about. They were a little too crispy for my taste but everyone has their preferences about that sort of thing. I love onions so I don't need them as crispy as they were served, but I'm sure that's exactly how the chef intended to make them. The corn pasta was delicious as well. The word that came to mind on my first bite was "cozy." Perfect for this cooler weather. The spicy margaritas were fabulous as well! The people sitting next to us didn't like them, said they were bitter. We thought they were great but maybe avoid if you prefer a sweeter cocktail. These definitely have some spice but an overall great flavor. We sipped on them during the entire meal. I expected to want more than one cocktail but didn't want feel the need to get another after that.. well and one "health shot digestif" (made with vodka). Jason was awesome! He was super attentive and friendly, and very knowledgeable about the menu. His recommendations were great and the drinks were lovely!! We can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Sin Muerte is a cool concept that offers both vegetarian and vegan dishes inspired by different cuisines and cultures across the globe. The interior is a gothic inspired ambience which is a great juxtaposition to the sunny and bright Roosevelt Row District it is located in. We didn't have a reservation but they were able to fit us in. I tried a bunch of different things off the menu but the ceviche was my absolute favorite. It was a special at the time and I would highly encourage the restaurant to put it on the menu full time because it was some of the best ceviche I've ever had. The oyster mushrooms were so chewy and delicious. I also want to give an honorable mention to the tandoori onion straws which I quickly devoured. As for the cocktails, I had the Bugs Honey. I'd never had a cocktail with carrot in it but it was great. As someone who loves to eat vegan/vegetarian I'm so glad to have this spot downtown!

Yelp
Stopped in for a drink during first Friday... they had a fun DJ but drinks were a bit too strong. Kitchen was closed so we didn't have food...menu looked good though!

Yelp
Went here with a friend and was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. We ordered everything our server recommended and left mostly happy. My friend ordered a pasta dish that she didn't care for, but I ended up eating it! More for me. I don't think she liked how herbaceous it was and that the pasta length was a little ridiculous (like 1 foot each). The decor inside is really great too. If I were drinking, this would be a great place for cocktails.

Yelp
Just came here for the first time with my boyfriend and had a wonderful experience. I had the orange wine to drink which was delicious. I also ordered the falafel and spicy green beans for my meal. The falafel was perfectly cooked, nice and crunchy on the outside and wonderful texture on the inside. The spicy green beans were also delicious. While I was expecting for that to be a hot dish, I was pleasantly surprised that it was served as more of a salad. Spicy and crunchy, yummy! I also tried my boyfriend's smoked mushroom and walnut ragu which was also very tasty. The service was quick, efficient and great. The ambiance was a little dark and reminded me of an old church, very cool and low key setting. Will definitely be back to try more!

Yelp
This was the highlight of my recent trip to Phoenix--so satisfying that I came twice! I can highly recommend the caramelized eggplant with cashew yogurt, fresh grilled pita, mushroom calamari, and loaded jackfruit Shawarma fries (yum, yum, yum!). The smoked ratatouille was disappointing in size and was not as tasty as the other dishes we tried. I am torn about the cauliflower mushroom stew. I expected there to be cauliflower in it (did you know that cauliflower mushroom is a type of fungus? Learning!) and it was more broth than substance. But, the sauce was the boss, and the cruciferous-named shroom was pretty good. I wanted there to be more vegetables in the stew--think about throwing in some broccolini, red pepper, and yellow onion for some extra veggies. I appreciated that the owner was working both times we were there. He clearly has a passion for his business. Respect. Thanks for having a vegetarian concept in your restaurant group!

Yelp
Sin Muerte =sin salsa! They have no salsa at all! Not even Tabasco sauce. The food was good but disappointing. Service was regular, nothing especial! We shared one of their bowls which was plenty of food but my date really wanted something spicy!! The Maya Chai was excellent and my date enjoyed the coffee. We went for lunch and it was not busy that's why the service could have been better! The place was painted in black and had no art in the walls. Kind of somber ambiance!

Yelp
Great restaurant! All the dips were fantastic! Loved the Tandoori fries! Great pita bread.

Yelp
This restaurant was originally a morgue. The walls are black and the original church benches are used as dining chairs. There is some outdoor seating, that would be my preference if weather permits. Most items on the menu are small bites. We had elote corn on the cob served in n charred husks, mushroom queso and the fried onion strings drizzled with a yogurt sauce. The onion strings were the best of the lot but I was generally underwhelmed . They have a limited pasta menu and flat breads, but I didn't try them. They hey have a decent drink selection. The server was friendly and knowledgeable. Overall, this spot is good for a drink and appetizers but not a destination for a good meal.

Yelp
Faaaaantastic spot. I love the stained glass, and pew seating in the main room, and that the bar area carries on that cathedral theme. The staff is welcoming and super knowledgeable. Per recommendation we started with the health shot digestif which comes with comes with your choice of spirit. I had vodka with mine. The ginger, turmeric, and a hint of orange was delicious going down. I then ordered the OOO Mami which is made with Pisco. The subtle lemon, and pineapple flavors worked well with the other ingredients. It was a refreshing drink that I will be ordering again. My spouse ordered the Spicy Margarita and I had a sip, and that was really good. I ordered the Green Shakshuka, and Mushroom Fundido. Both of which came with the most delicious sourdough fermented pita that I have ever had. I grew up on Shakshuka. While I prefer the traditional red my father made us; this was a tasty, and interesting take to what I know. Give it a try! I loved the Mushroom Fundido which came out sizzling on a hot hot skillet, and included oyster mushrooms, corn, chilis, onions and a ooey gooey Oaxaca cheese. It was divine! Ordered the Green drink as that also used Pisco, and a sinkful of other delicious ingredients. It was so delicious. I enjoyed the mint that came with it which I munched on. Had to get some dessert so ordered the belly sticky rice which came with a cherry compote, and cardamom on top. Superb! Sin Muerte is a PURRFECT date night or any reason to go there night spot! Can't wait to go back. Thanks for the great service!

Yelp
There new Lunch hours just made working downtown 9-5 much more exciting! I love the concept of the 33rd parallel cultural themes and the diverse selection of unique southwest inspired dishes. Definitely recommend to anyone who likes thoughtful themes and delicious dining!!! A++ Ps service was top notch and I couldn't believe how attentive they were while it was so busy. Classy joint!!!

Yelp
Very impressed with the food and ambiance of this spot! The dips and shared dishes were unique an delicious, pitas were fresh and warm, and oh boy - the creamy mushroom pasta has me itching to return All the cocktails that we tired were excellent as well. The spicy margarita was delicious (and not too spicy) and their mule was a unique twist with using mescal as the alcohol base Looking forward to returning soon

Yelp
Theyve mostly many shareable small dishes (think tapas) and are mostly vegetarian and vegan. Went with three friends and ordered 6 shareable small dishes and one entree but we decided the favorite was the corn pasta whish is vegan.

Yelp
Located in one of the first funeral homes in Phoenix, Sin Muerte brings healthy options to the downtown Phoenix Arts District! As someone who seeks out gluten-free food, having such a large selection of it was fantastic! And I find it important to point out that all this food was DELICIOUS!! That's not always the case with healthy, vegan, gluten-free or other alt options. Their pita is a favorite! The drinks were also very creative and yummy! The "Ooo Mami" and the "Deja-Bru" are my favorite! Vibes: dim-lit, medium volume music, and very moody. They paid homage to the building's history by keeping the church pews and dark metal chandeliers!

Yelp
I'm really happy this place finally opened! When I heard Belly was starting up a new restaurant concept I had to go check it out. They focus on foods grown along the 33rd parallel, (same as Phoenix) which is an awesome concept to use a huge variety of fresh ingredients. They have a great menu and they make their own pickles, which is huge for me. Their cocktails are great too, I can't wait to come back and try more!
