"Sing Sing in the Tenderloin has an indoor dining room brightened up with red checkered tablecloths, holiday string lights, and enough mirrors to classify as an amusement park attraction, which means you don’t have to scramble to find somewhere to dig into this excellent bánh mì. There are only two things (currently) on the menu: a Vietnamese iced coffee for $4 and a bánh mì đặc biệt for $6. This classic combo is loaded up with eggy mayo, pâté, and enough cold cuts to make a butcher faint. So sit back and relax as you dig into a bánh mì while Vietnamese music videos play off of the TV in the corner. photo credit: Melissa Zink photo credit: Melissa Zink" - Ricky Rodriguez

The restaurant has counter service, which is fine. The food was very disappointing after all of the articles that said it would be authentic. It wasn't even close. The "bak-kut-teh" had Vietnamese noodles, a lemon wedge and mushrooms. The roti prata was from a frozen package, not made fresh. The laska used Vietnamese noodles and a watery curry soup instead of thick noodles with coconut curry. The char kway teow sauce tastes like it came from an instant noodles packet. The beef skewers were good. My wife, who is Singaporean, and I were really hoping this restaurant would live up to the hype, but unfortunately it did not.

Absolutely excellent! We ordered the boat noodles, the char kway teow, handcrafted limeade, and sake. They even heated up the sake for us which was great for the cold weather. The food is very flavorful, ambiance is great, and staff is nice. They're still working out the kinks of being a new restaurant, they were a tad understaffed but it didn't really impact our dining experience. Absolutely try this place!! We're definitely coming back.

Really, really enjoyed this place when I went!! Everything we had was delicious. I’ve only been waiting for my next opportunity to go back. This place is relatively new and up and coming, but I love the concept and all of the staff, including the chef, were very friendly. Nice service. The idea is complete Asian fusion, so dishes from many different countries in that area - Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand etc. There is limited seating here that is more community style, so I could imagine that to be a challenge if they’re busy. This wasn’t an issue while we were there. That being said, there is additional outdoor seating that should be usable most months (as we are in Houston!). To me, the prices are reasonable or at least generally market value and what I expect. I walked away stuffed full off of ~$40 and that included a drink. Would definitely recommend and can’t wait for return! #sing #singapore #asian #asianfood #houston #htown #htx #heights

Delicious! I’ll be coming back. I recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala (mild spice) and the Char Kway Yeow (smokey sweet).
