terrible experience. we came with a huge group the machine didn’t work in one of our rooms unless you had the midus touch (????) after asking 10 times they finally said to touch it lightly. by that point we had been there long enough that we apparently got moved to another room???? it was very confusing and very poor communication. i can’t believe they force you to buy drinks in order to meet whatever company minimum they need to run this shoddy business. i’ve never had a worse karaoke experience. it actually upset me so much i left.

This place sucks. The machine and sound quality is garbage and they over charged me on drinks and their phoned in estimate for the room was so off by $100. Never coming back here. Sing sing on A was such a better experience with the payment and cost, and Duet is much better with machines and service

I was a regular customer of Sing Sing St Marks for years but after my most recent experience with them, I will not return. There are other establishments in Ktown with more professional service and competitive pricing. I reserved a room about one month in advance for a group of 15-20 people. Everything was smooth at the time of booking. I then called the night before the event to confirm and let manager know our party might be slightly larger, and asked if there was a larger room available. They said no, and that the room reserved for us could fit but would be tight. Because of prior good experiences at the venue and room size, I figured it would be okay, even if a little tight. However we were put into a room that could not fit more than 10-12 people comfortably. The room was clearly not appropriate for even the original request for a room for 15-20 people. To make things worse, the room was not heated (so everyone had to wear their coats, adding to the crowding), and the tech was not ready when we arrived with the lights off, microphones off, and monitor not synced with the audio. We had to call the staff back to the room several times at the start of the session. When we complained about the size and tech issues, the staff was dismissive and said that “tight” was up to interpretation, and it was not their fault if we had different perspectives on this. The staff then offered to divide our party into two rooms which was not the experience we reserved. They did let us know the large room had been booked and if the other party was late, we could have it. However, they told several members of our party different wait times for the large room and eventually said the room would not be available. We ended up asking to use the public part of the bar, and were told we would only need to pay for drinks purchased at the bar if we did that, with the room charges waived. We appreciated comping the room charge, but in end the staff added a “song fee” per person which was not disclosed to us when relocating to the public part of the bar and we were double charged for several drinks. The other large party also never arrived and still, the large room was not offered to us. Overall this experience ruined this venue for me despite patronizing it for 10 years. I agree with recent reviews about poor service and feeling uncomfortable with the staff.

TERRIBLE KARAOKE SPOT - GO TO KTOWN INSTEAD. This place should be shut down. The 1 star reviews are all accurate. Avoid this karaoke spot. Front desk is rude, unhelpful, equipment does not work, and they double book rooms. Aside from giving us a room that was impossible for a group of 20 to fit (which is how many people it was booked for a month in advance), the front desk spent about ONE HOUR tech troubleshooting. We had to restart our time multiple times (you pay for the room per hour). The mics were NOT working. The music was NOT synced to the lyrics on screen. They told us to squeeze in that room when it was literally impossible, not just tight. Some of us lapped up or left to try and make it work. It was not comfortable at all and all of us decided to leave the room in the end. Turns out they double booked the large room (there’s only one) and even when the other party was late for over 45 mins and did not show up, the front desk still did not offer us the room. We ended up staying in the public bar area, doing karaoke mixed with strangers for what was supposed to be a private party, and was told that we would not be charged for room or karaoke, just for drinks at the bar. Got the bill and they charged per song when they told us otherwise. DO NOT COME HERE!!! It is not worth the stress and poor experience.

Decent service, average song selection list, what sucks is they only accept card if you get a room, but singing and ordering at the bar is cash only (such BS). Furthermore, they close the rooms at 4am but they close the bar at 2am!! Another round of BS!!

Discreetly charged me an extra $100 in room charge even though I was already charged for the room. Ended up paying an extra +$130 after taxes, 20% included tip, and credit card fees.

Rude front desk staff, wouldn't give me an itemized receipt and added a 20% gratuity without asking me. I hate when places do this. The prices marked end up being much less than what you actually pay. No staff member came into our room a single time, what the heck am I paying a 20% gratuity for?? Highly recommend places in K town over this spot. Better song selection and service for half the price.

Super fun spot for Karaoke. They were able to accommodate my group last minute. We had a private party room which was awesome and then made our way to the bar for some more drinks. Highly recommend for a fun night out!

2hours wait we just left but this is a big place. Noisy on weekends. They have open bar karaoke I guess. Wanted a room and 2hrs wait but the lady was nice and fast. Maybe be try some other time.

Came here at 2am on a Monday night because my boyfriend and I had just left Barcade and because we were not ready for the night to be over... we went upstairs to Karaoke St Marks were met here with friendliness and drinks! Met some new friends at the bar and since there was no one else in the joint we basically got a private karaoke hall! Gideon at the front desk/bar was amazing! Thanks for letting us sing our hearts out! The songs are up to date until this month which was nice to be able to sing newer jams. I recommend getting the app so you can search for new and updated songs.

This place may not be the nicest or the cleanest, but my sister and I always come here when we feel like we want to karaoke. There are always new songs added to the book, and the quality of the sound system is pretty good. It is pretty affordable here also, and I also like that this place is located w/in the St. Marks area. I never had a bad encounter w/ the staff. They were pretty nice and friendly whenever we went. I guess it depends on the day.

Came here for happy hour Karaoke! So the manager of the place was honestly what was the most unpleasant experience. The main manager seemed not to understand basic math because we were trying to figure out how much an hour would cost if part of it was mixed with the happy hour rate....very bad service. We brushed it off and went in to start the timer for Karaoke. The rooms were average, nothing to write home about but good enough. Decent selection of songs - new and old - which worked for our group of 7. Now I walked out to order some drinks, 2 shots and 2 beers. The prices should have been happy hour, and the manager tried to charge me full price....until I brought up the fact that it was still happy hour. He then made some comment to me about oh...."yeah i forgot. yes there is still 18 minutes, sure I will give you happy hour prices..." What? It was still a happy hour, you aren't GIVING me anything. Just yet again another issue with the manager's poor math skills or his poor service. We made sure to time ourselves to be exactly on time to leave the room, cause we just didn't trust the staff. When we finished, we left and calculated our bill before confirming it was correct with the balance on the receipt. It was generally correct - except that he added 18% tip and stated that it was customary. Needless to say, we won't be returning for poor service and just bad treatment to the customers.

St Marks Karaoke NY Manhattan St Marks 11pm Thursday 25th February 2016 Four Stars We opted for the Party Package #3: $22/person unlimited 1 hour of karaoke and an unlimited pitcher of beer. The place was not very sound proof. The room was spacious and clean. The staff was nice but strict. If you haven't Asian karaoke you should definitely try out the private room style of karaoke.

They don't do the $10 for $20 deal anymore. We came especially because we saw the deal but was told "if you bought it we'll honour it but if you haven't we don't take it anymore". They very clearly didn't want to give us that discount. There were better ways to handle this situation than being so aggressive.

This place is extremely poorly run. I have never had such a bad experience at any karaoke place. Here are a couple reasons why this business doesn't deserve your money: - my friend made a reservation for a large room and they never made it clear or presented a contract detailing that it's about $9 an hour per person for 25 people, meaning that whether your group is there for the duration or not, you'll be charged for that the whole time for all 25 people. we thought it would be like any other place where it's per hour per person so people can pay as they leave, like every other place. if they are going to charge a minimum of such a large amount for those rooms, they should make customers sign a contract so both parties understand what they're getting into. they don't do that and then profit off of your confusion, insisting that you pay the pride you didn't even agree to in the first place because they swear it was explained differently. - they advertise being multi lingual but put us in a room that wasn't compatible with japanese songs. - the bill itself was around $900 total and they didn't even make sure we got a receipt for that wild charge. - most people working there were incredibly rude from the moment we got there. these people clearly are not interested in making sure their customers have a good time and become returning clients. it feels like a scam. go have fun somewhere else because you won't have any here.

Clearly they must deal with a lot of rude groups. Staff dude was not welcoming. Asked for our IDs and couldn't wait for us to take them out so he came out from behind the counter to check. At first they stuffed us in room that couldn't fit all thirteen of us comfortably and they said a bigger room had a fifteen person minimum. Fine. Whatever. We told them to just put us in the bigger room, we'll pay. Another thing I didn't like was that the bar was cash only... however from what I think we were told you could add drinks to the room's tab. Some of the songs from my group's selection was out of sync... Brought it to the server's attention, but he didn't understand what I was saying. Oh well... This will be the first/last time I karaoke here. If for whatever reason I end up back here I'll do an update, but I think I will just stick to going to K-Town to get my karaoke fix.

Came in on a Saturday night at around 1pm - all the Karaoke song slots had been given out to three people, so they were "sold out" on karaoke songs. Not the smartest way to run a karaoke bar if you ask me, but if you want to listen to the same three tone-deaf people belt out pop songs, go for it...

Karaoke St. Marks is a budget private room karaoke spot. Like other Korean-style karaoke spots, there is a bar where you walk in and then private rooms towards the back. The cost is $9 per person, per hour if ordering alcohol from the bar or $13 per person, per hour with byob. The byob cost will automatically include gratuity on top of it, so it is actually around $17 per person per hour with a two hour minimum. I'm not sure which is a better value. My group did the byob option regardless because we had brought some wine. If the information about the rates wasn available online, perhaps we would have chosen differently. For byob, the staff said you have to bring your own cups, so why they are charging gratuity is beyond me. The staff also said the kitchen wasn't open despite being prime karaoke hour on a weekend. He also told us that Yelp check-in perks are only redeemable during the week, which isn't posted anywhere. So yeah, it just seems Karaoke St. Marks tries to nickel and dime you for whatever they can. The room was ok. As other reviewers have said, the microphones are awful. We had one that had an internal piece loose and anytime we moved, we heard the amplified noise over our singing. The booths themselves were just worn out as well. We were ok with the song selection, but we mostly stuck to the classics. Was it fun? If course - karaoke is always fun. Would I go back though? No. For what the price ended up being, it's better to go somewher newer with updated equipment and actually provides the services that are advertised.

The guy at reception is rude unnecessarily. The signs all lead you to rooms on the left but you have to walk past the crowd and check in down the hall on the right. He kept trying to make us feel like we were trespassing for following the signs instead of going to his counter first.

Pros: - The prices here are $9 per hour per person (excluding tax and tip). Pretty cheap for the city. - Not a long wait on the weekends - No cover charge on weekends Cons: - They have different rooms for different types of music. My group wanted the Korean/English songs so they had to move us to a different room. - They start the time as soon as they take your card...meaning if there's an issue or they make you switch rooms, they don't add extra time for you - Some staff members are quite rude. Especially the "manager". Personal experience: I came here on a Friday night, 9:50pm, in a group of 5. The manager in the front scanned us with a judgmental demeanor (I guess he thought we were underaged? Even though there's a bouncer in the front who checks IDs...). He gave us room 42 in the beginning, but we realized the system was for English songs only. When we asked the manager for the Korean/ English system, he switched us to a different room (47). When we finally settled in and started, the music did not turn on. We addressed it to the manager and he came back in and pushed some buttons in the back and the system finally started working. At this point, it was 10:11pm. The rest of the hour went by pretty well, until a worker came in at 10:50, telling us we had 5 minutes left even though we technically stared at 10:11pm. For a place where they charge by the hour, they should make sure all the systems are working properly before letting their customers in and not waste our time/ money. They should also ask the groups beforehand which music system they would prefer. But, their lack of preparation and treatment of their customers are the reasons why I would not necessarily recommend this place.

Great spot for your late night drunk activity. You won't have to let other people suffer hearing you sing as you can get a private room with your friends. Inside, feel free to have singing competitions, may the best, drunkest, loudest, tone deaf person win!

Karaoke St.Marks definitely falls in a cheaper price range compared to other karaoke places in Manhattan.. It's only $9/hr and was $12/hr for underage peeps lol. Well, we got what we paid for. Although this place seemed pretty decent, very spacious with lots of room, the quality was subpar. First, the speakers were of bad quality - I couldn't seem to modify the volume. The microphones were EXTRAORDINARILY bad - I didn't see any difference when I sang with and without the mic. The quality was inferior to the mic I got on Amazon. The song list was missing so many songs. THERE'S ONLY 1 SONG FROM BRUNO MARS?! Seriously!?? Also, the song book smelled like food and felt greasy... The only reason why I still gave this place 3 stars was because they allowed under 21s to go in and have fun. I find it so unreasonable to bar under 21s from going in karaoke. We aren't going to drink booze anyway.

I've been coming here for quite a while and have experienced many technical difficulties with their system, but today was by far the worst. Before coming here I looked on their website to make sure they had the songs I wanted to sing and they did show up on the website. However when we got there, we tried entering the song codes from the website and it said the code could not be found. We asked the staff for help and he left the room for five minutes before returning and informed us that this song was not available. However, all 50 songs from that artist which were found on the website were actually "not found." Isn't that bizarre? Then in the middle of singing at least five of our songs would freeze in the middle of the chorus. We couldn't even skip the song nor enter codes for the next selection. Called the staff again and he said it may be due to the rain. Absolutely unbelievable. I will never come to this place again. Their technology is super outdated and inefficient. Their staff is extremely unprofessional and unhelpful.

Been to this place twice now. Both a bad customer service experience. Bouncer outside was very rude, made it a point to make me stand to the side and wait when I tried opening the door myself. Went up. No wait. Got out into a room. One of the mics did not work. We complained several times, but the the staff didn't know what to do about it. Finally they took the mic for about 15 minutes. They came in 4 minutes before our hour was up and said they would move us to another room. When we complained that we only had had one working mic the entire hour, they said they'd only give us a discount for 5 minutes. Their demeanor and attitude is not professional. The song list is expansive but it is not organized in a way that is easy to search. I recommend you just use "sing sing media song search" on a search browser and look up songs that way. Found many songs there that were not in their books. Would I go back? Not happily. I recommend trying another place first.

Unfortunately this is my first bad review. Trust me I am such a loyal customer. We got to this karaoke bar today after dinner and got package #1 ( one hour plus 1 drink and 1 shot per person) hour passed and no one brought our order, at the beginning of the second hour waiter found the time to come and confirm our order, because he forgot, what we ordered an hour ago. At the end they took our order and overcharged us(( poor service, dirty rooms with old couches, and microphones that hardly work. Sorry guys!!!! No more karaoke with you!!! If I could give negative ratings, I would have...it MAY depend on what time you go, but theres a chance you'll meet this very very very very very rude worker... My friend has really been wanting to karaoke for a week so we decided to find a karaoke that opens early so we can get home early and rest and this was one of the karaoke. So my friend called like 5 times, they never picked up. Eventually, I called and the person who picked up at the time was very chill and nice.They asked us what time we were coming so we said as early as we can, and he said "so we open at 2pm so just give us a little time to get ready. 3~4 should be good." We say okay, we get there at 3:34pm...the rude and DISGUSTING worker gives us an attitude RIGHT IN FRONT OF US and says "Jesus! Its freaking 3pm! "..... so we left. I would notify the boss or something...but looking at the ratings, it doesnt seem like he cares...=/

At first I wasn't sure - some of the songs are "versions" not originals (at least the first few I picked). They had rooms available when other places did not, on a Sunday night. We walk in and there were about a dozen drunkards blasting out songs and not sounding great. It is a Korean owned "K-box" and the staff ran a pretty efficient spot. But, we stayed and were glad we did. We opted to skip the room and sing in the "living room" and had a blast. Lots of songs (I paid $2 per song) and never had to wait more than 2-3 songs to be up next. The crowd is super social - great place to make new friends, get hammered, and sing some fun songs in a nonjudgmental environment. Also, somehow just when you didn't think you'd get the microphone in time to sing, the staff was handing it over right on time. And - they keep tight control of the microphones, which I appreciated. It would be nice if they made the song slips more available but that was minor.

My wife and I came to St. Mark's karaoke to unwind as we've done in he past. After purchasing the party package 1, which included one drink and one shot per person, we waited for an hour after placing our order for drinks. The waiter even asked for our order again even after we placed it 20 minutes prior especially AFTER writing it down! To add insult to injury - he didn't even apologize for the mess up and told us we need to wait. He finally delivered our drinks after another 20 minutes bringing it to one full hour and now ten minutes past our party package time. After speaking to the manager on the floor, she apologized - citing new staff issues - and after arguing a little more - offered a free shot. When we paid, they even charged gratuity? For poor service? I'm extremely disappointed at the end of the night about the service. My wife and I have been here multiple times prior. The couches are old, and the sound system never really works as it truly should (echo and volume is broken). I'm sorry guys, but the service was the thing you had really going for you - and tonight it was extremely poor. Definitely not coming back to your karaoke again.

In a nutshell: Karaoke with decent song variety. So after going to a couple Korean karaoke spots in LA, I've started to notice the differences in karaoke spots in general. Some places are bring your own booze, some won't let you bring mixers then hike up the prices of sodas and juices, and some places won't let you bring alcohol in and sell it to you. Other karaoke places offer decent food menus of mostly Korean cuisine and appetizers. Parking 2/5 St. Mark's Place is very busy at night. Good luck finding parking. Take a train and walk over. Ambience 3/5 Standard karaoke rooms, with the occasional server popping his head in to suggest you buy something. Menus are posted by the door to your room. Service 3/5 Servers pop their heads in occasionally, but there is also a call button by the door. Price 2/5 We paid WAY too much for a couple bottles of Andre, which we could have gotten for real cheap at a Duane Reade somewhere. Song Selection 3/5 OK. We noticed a lot of our favorite R&B tunes weren't on there. Sad. Overall 3/5 Decent experience. I would have really enjoyed not gonna F-ed in the A for two bottles of cheap champagne, but shame on us for ordering them.

We where celebrating a co workers going away event at barcade right next door we didn't want the fun to stop so we decided to come right next door to this karaoke spot . After I walk up 2 flights of stairs and made it it to the karaoke spot. I walked up to the Counter and Gideon had a whole attitude for no reason. I was still waiting for the rest for my party so I inquired and about them. He rudely stated that they didn't make it to this floor but they were suppose to. After the whole party got here they keep switching up the price on things and we decided not stay here but we did support the bar

The people at the counter are not helpful and they charge you 18% gratuity for no good reason. No reason to go.

I DO NOT recommended. Me and my friends went for a fun night; the people at the bar mislead you with the pricing and take your card and then charge it without permission, even though we clearly stated we would like to split it. The bouncer confiscated real ID's and then expected bribes. Don't go.

This place seems to be under new management because the most significant change was the BYOB, which I love. The regular rate for a room is $8 a person per hour, and if you bring your own alcohol, it goes to $10. An interesting thing to note, is if you stay past your time, let's say 2 hours, then they charge by the minute.This is great if your singing goes 15- 30 minutes over. You simply pay for the extra minutes you've spent in the room. It doesn't automatically round up to three hours. Other things to note You can just sing at the bar if you don't want a room, but you cannot drink outside alcohol at the bar (surprisingly not obvious to some people). A song comes free with a drink from the bar or $2 for a song card. You can also bring your own food if you have a room. Again, no outside food at the bar. The staff is pretty friendly for the most part. You can make reservations or walk in, but on a crowded night you should make reservations. Comments The sound system is ok. The songs need to be updated more often.

I've never had a bad experience at this karaoke spot, which is really amazing for how many times I've been here. Karaoke is a staple for a hangout spot for my friends and me so we've been to pretty much every spot in the city. This has to be my favorite. The service is great, the song list is always updated, and for $8/person a room with tip included - you really can't go wrong.

Had the worst visit here. Hopefully it was an isolated incidence. Booked reservations for a small party to surprise my friend for her birthday 2 weeks in advance. Had conversations over the phone, paid a deposit and received text confirmation with a "receipt" of the deposit (all pleasant so far). Then come the actual day. Once we tried using the karaoke system, nothing worked. Pressing the buttons caused LOUDD blaring korean music to blast. But the machine didn't register any songs. Switched rooms (mind you, I "decorated" the first room and set up a food + booze spread which we had to lug to another room) and discovered it wasn't working there either. Ended up being told that the English system wasn't working.. that it was newly installed or upgraded. And was given blank stares - no real apology or explanation or solution. Utter lack of sympathy or care. After collecting ourselves and packing up to hoof it to another place with BYOB, I went up to the bar to request my ID and deposit back. Same guy gave me a "sorry we don't return deposits"... Me: Well.. the machines weren't working.. Employee: We can give you store credit. Me: I'm pretty sure I'm not coming back here all things considered... Employee: *More blank stare.. goes to register, gets out cash, hands it to me* Me: *BOLTS*

One of the WORST karaoke experiences ever. I went here with my friends during happy hour and one employee was extremely rude. We wanted to ask for glasses of water but he shut the door without even looking at us. Also, towards the end of our time, he suddenly came into the room (while we're singing) and took our remote control (make sure you hide your controller). Of course, he smashed our door. The best part of my experience happened when we're singing the last song. The guy came in again and took our water glasses and left the door open lol. Extremely rude, and I am definitely not coming back. This place used to be a lot nicer. .

They don't know what they are doing. They denied any access to any karaoke because they had no room. They were rude and handled every conversation without any courtesy. They basically insulted us to leave. They are a poor business considering how many times we have been here. If you want any advice, don't trust this place. They are not trustworthy or care about your patronage. Don't trust them at all! Rude as fuck without any grace or courtesy.

Don't bother coming here. Customer service is terrible. Not going to go into it since other reviews pretty much nail it. Attitude the moment you step into this place. Take your money elsewhere.

Nothing worked here. Mics are shit, computer system is trash. Best part is how aggressive the service could be. Let me quote the server:" what do you want? I can change a room (for the fourth time because nothing was working and that's not our fault) or you can leave". We chose to leave because we felt like we're gonna get physically attacked by him.

A night out with some friends and we normally end up here. The open karaoke wasn't available tonight, but luckily they had a private room available. For the price of $9/person/hour which really isn't too bad. Great selection of songs (wish they had some tribe called quest and big pun still not a player), Staff is always friendly and helpful, no issues with the karaoke machine. Over all another fun night. The only bummer is no topself liquor but hey they have beer and beer will do just fine.

They charge you for more people then you have and then try to tell you "we told you it would be this much" when they didn't. All of the staff are incredibly rude and incompetent. I came here with a BIG group of my coworkers and we definitely had a good time. There was a bit of a wait for a big room but it was a sunday night so I suppose being that it was the weekend it was expected to be a little more crowded. Yes the building is pretty shady. You either take a rickety elevator OR take a few flights up a very ominous looking staircase. But the rooms are nice and spacious and server was great with catering to all of us because we were a pretty huge group. We did a deal where if you "like" their page on Facebook you get a free drink. Nice and easy way to get a free drink! So I got a free glass of wine. Always a plus!

Okay, since when do you have to PAY PER SONG to sing karaoke? I know I'm a terrible singer -- and should have to compensate the crowd for listening -- but don't see why I have to pay the bar for drinks AND my voice. In any case, it's $2/song in the MAIN ROOM -- and apparently the private rooms can get realllyyyy pricey. The upside to this place is that on a Saturday night, it was pretty empty -- meaning that the main room was even sort of "private." This translated to it being fast -- from signup to singing took only a few mins. Plus everyone that was there was pretty nice -- cheering for even those that weren't superstars. AND, compared to the place across the street, which barely had room to move (let alone get drinks), a ridiculous wait to sing (literally 2 hours!), and no stage to speak of (the current singer walks around with a mic), this place was GREAT.

Came here with my boyfriend on a Saturday night around 1AM. The bouncer told us that it was $8/person/hr. Sounds good! We stayed for 2 hours and the bill came out to be an astonishing $61!!! Um, the f--?! The cashier told us that they charged us $47 per room for the price of 3 people or some BS like that, plus tax and $9 tip racked it up to almost twice as much as we were expecting. I mean, I guess the onus was kind of on us for not clarifying before we were led to the room, but the bouncer can't just be deceiving customers like that! I was also disappointed because I thought Korean people always took care of their own, and even my Korean-speaking boyfriend couldn't get us a discount. Ha. Anyway, the room itself was quite roomy and clean, and the controls were more or less easy to use. At first they hooked us up to the American remote, which has a simple number pad. That channel sometimes plays the actual music video, but when they don't have it, it's just words on a blue screen. Meh. Boyfriend wanted to be able to search for songs, so they switched us over to the more complex Korean remote, which non-Korean people would not be able to figure out at all. Instead of music videos, that channel just plays old Korean music performances in the background. Acoustics were good and mics didn't run out of batteries, though it was weird that they didn't automatically provide mic covers (we had to ask). tl;dr, the overall pleasant experience was tarnished at the end when we got ripped off.

Everything was great until they rushed us out about 10 minutes before our 2 hours were up! Soured the experience a bit because I don't pay money to feel like I'm an inconvenience when I'm just trying to have fun with friends! They're BYOB for $10 a person. $8 without BYOB. The BYOB is worth it.

While I had a lovely time with my friends because karaoke can always be fun, the bartender we interacted with was quite surly the entire evening. At the end of the night the machine wouldn't play any songs and when we went to tell the bartender, he angrily told us that we should have informed him the second that it happened, despite the fact that we weren't asking for money back or anything. In addition my friend's card was charged for auto gratuity, though we were never told that would be the case. I saw on other reviews there's auto gratuity for BYOB but we didn't bring any alcohol. Overall, an unpleasant interaction at St Mark's Karaoke.

I've been here a few times -- including when it first opened, and it was called U2 Karaoke. Not sure if that makes me a veteran, or just someone who does an abnormal amount of karaoke. When you walk in, the first thing you see is a huge open bar area with a big open space. You can't help but think: this would be the perfect place to have open bar karaoke for people who want to keep the party going after their room reservations are over. I can't help but wonder why the owners aren't taking advantage of this. There are plenty of other places that can make it happen -- they're just wasting money and space by keeping it an empty entryway. They have a decent selections of songs -- not the BEST in all of NYC (a crown that I would give a 4-way tie to Karaoke Shout, Karaoke Duet, Nemo and Sing Sing) but certainly good enough to have a good time. I've always enjoyed the cozy, stylish rooms and the awesome lighting. It really helps set the mood. The staff are also helpful, friendly and attentive. If you're on St. Mark's looking for private room karaoke, and trying to decide between Sing Sing and this place, you should come here. Sing Sing's rooms are far noisier by comparison, and it's just a lot less hectic here. One important note: They say the room price is $8 per person, but that's not exactly true. It's $8 per person with a 3-PERSON minimum. So if there are only two of you in a room, it's suddenly $12 per person. (Karaoke Boho also does this.) For a place that truly only charges per person per hour, go to Karaoke Duet every time.

There are seriously like 40+ karaoke rooms upstairs. It seems so ghetto and sketch when you go in and there is only this one tiny elevator that takes you there. Upstairs is decent, a wide variety of songs. We only went here because Sing Sing Ko was PACKED!! But, ended up working out. We got our karaoke fix. :)

Came here for the first time this past Friday. The staff was kind, attentive, and accommodating. My group was immediately placed in a private room without a reservation, at 8:30 on a Friday night! Also, they had a very broad song selection to offer. Head's up: As it is typically with karaoke places, the drinks were pricey and on the weak side...so, don't count on the bar here. Pregame elsewhere. I would recommend downing some 5 for $10 shots at Continental (right across the street) first, and then belting out some karaoke.

This place is kind of creepy, you go up a sketch elevator to get to the place. Whole party has to be over 21 to get in. The prices are fair but there is a lot to be desired. It's really difficult to queue and find songs and you can't change from girl to guy ranges. Was expecting some water or anything but the service is basically nonexistent. Make sure to look online or groupon or something to get some of the discounts before you come here.

I've been here twice, and both times have left in an inebriated state after some intense, if not American Idol-worthy, singing. This place has a $22 deal for 2 hours of all you can drink, all you can sing, karaoke, which is pretty good if you're just starting out your night and want to get your buzz on, but proved unnecessary for us since it was the last stop on our journey before going home to pass out. The private rooms are a lot of fun but they also have a song-per-drink deal if you want to stay in the bar area and serenade people as they arrive/leave.

Friends and I had just had dessert on the same street and were looking for something to do for the rest of the night. This karaoke place was the highest rated on Yelp in the nearby vicinity so we decided to check it out. One frustrating thing is that if you want to consume drinks, you have to stay at the bar and can't order them for the room... that was disappointing. Otherwise, they have a really wild selection of English and Chinese songs. The system for song selection isn't super high tech but does its job. I think my biggest issue with the experience is that the hosts are over... concerned? I would say that we were there for 2 hours and someone checked in on us every ten minutes. It was nice that they were concerned about meeting our needs, but I think it was overkill to check in on us that often since I felt like we didn't have any privacy as a group. tldr; good karaoke place, not too expensive! $10/hour/person

A solid karaoke spot. You get to book your own room with your group. Song selection - it seems like it's geared more towards Korean songs than the newest American songs it seems like. But there was another book that had lots of American songs so I'm curious as to whether or not our group opted for the Korean-load of the songs, since most of my party was Korean. Room amenities - The rooms are nice, the mics are good, the speakers are good, it's a very solid karaoke spot. They have drinks and they bring them to your room for you. Employees here are friendly and helpful. Price - It's $8/hr per person - pretty good value. In summary, a karaoke spot I'd come back to. You won't go wrong here.
