The 14 Best Armenian Restaurants In Los Angeles

"Sipan is located uncomfortably close to America’s Largest Ikea, but don’t let that deter or distract you—this small, Armenian bakery is a must-visit. It’s hard to go wrong with anything off Sipan’s menu, but ordering a bunch of flaky cheese or spicy meat-stuffed books needs to be a priority. You might think that buying a dozen for yourself is too many, but that concern will quickly be put to bed after you accidentally eat half of them while driving home." - brant cox, sylvio martins

I visited from out of state and this is my favorite spot from my whole trip. The kindest, warmest service, and delicious food that is perfect for sharing. The falafel here is my favorite I’ve had ever, and there was not a single thing that I didn’t like. I would drive out just to come here again!!

Google
This is a business you definitely want to support. They clearly love both serving people and creating incredibly tasty food. The service was amazing and the food even better! The meats were flavorful and the vegetables all incredibly fresh and crisp. I wish I lived closer to eat there once a week. While the breads are a specialty, I recommend getting a chicken salad, too. The creamy, spicy dressing is delish!

Google
Perfect "sidewalk cafe" for those who know. Not showy, but absolutely everyone is fabulous. We found it years ago when going to a wedding in the area and looking for a quick breakfast, years later, we moved to Riverside and I can't stop going through Glendale just to hit up this place. Parking can be tight, but it's definitely worth the drive around the block

Google
A must try. I’m an engineer and travel for a living . I have the Glendale special wrap. One of the best breakfast I’ve had in a very long time. A lot of care goes into their ingredients in their preparation. Thank you 🙏🏼

Google
Sipan Bakery in Glendale has quickly become my new favorite spot for ajarski! As a big lover of this dish, I was thrilled to find that they offer three sizes—perfect for any appetite. I always go for the small with one egg, but they also have options with sujukh and basturma, which I'll definitely try next time. Another must-try is their zatar with veggies—it’s soooo delicious! The flavors are amazing, and I can’t wait to go back again soon. Highly recommend! And the owner was so nice!

Google
Easy to find, 20min drive from LA, storefront parking available. The owners were on-site and very welcoming! They explained the different dishes and prepared mine exactly to my preferences. I had the Ajarski Khachapouri with eggs over easy, added ground beef, and Armenian coffee. Absolutely delicious! What a lovely way to start a morning. Coffee was sweet and strong, the Ajarski bread was crispy, yet light and fluffy, cheese and beef was very appetizing; just perfect! Can't wait to go back!

We had the falafel sandwich/burrito (not in a traditional pita) with a hint of mint that was lovely. We wish we could try more dishes alas our travel is too short.

Google
🇦🇲 ARMENIA (via Eat the World Los Angeles) - The Armenian-style pizza here is not so different than those enjoyed in Iran, which also drops the marinara or any other sauce in favor of more cheese. Thankfully (sorry Persians!) they do not insist on using ranch dressing and ketchup on their pies, Sipan instead passes out a healthy amount of their homemade spicy chipotle sauce. This creamy, nutty sauce is the ultimate LA fusion and surprisingly addictive. It definitely lived up to its praise and was used to the last drop on the large chicken shawarma pizza ($15.55).

Yelp
Upon entry, we were greeted by a very warm and welcoming gentleman. He asked us a few questions and then offered suggestions. This was my first time at an Armenian bakery, so I greatly appreciated it. His suggestions were helpful and I felt no pressure to order one way or another. Everything was delicious. The bread was soft and warm and ever so slightly toasted on the underside of the beorek. The fresh veggies and herbs in the glendale special mashrooha were a refreshing touch and added a crispness to the texture. Very tasty. Definitely try this place, even if youre not familiar with the food. They will help you out and make you feel welcome.

Yelp
My friend got lahmajun and I got the plain manaeish. My friend liked the lahmajun and I loved the manaeish. Probably the best I've had, largely because it wasn't particularly greasy/oily and the bread was less like a focaccia (which is what some store-bought manaeish taste like). Definitely will become a regular here. Prices were fair/competitive. Staff very friendly and service fast.

Yelp
I can say that if I walk into a breakfast café/restaurant and there's obviously some locals/regulars chatting it up with the owner and hanging out, then it's going to be a good dining experience. Going into Sipan Bakery was just that. A group of locals enjoying their breakfast/brunch, and a local chatting up the owner as well as asking for mechanic recommendations. You can tell it's a community staple. The owner was very friendly to us too and made sure that everything was to our liking. You can see the pizza oven from over the counter and that everything is made/baked in house. We got the: 1) Glendale Mashrooha Sandwich: -This is a cheese mashrooha with soujouk meat, scrambled eggs, topped with tomatoes, fresh mint leaves, and olives. -I believe a mashrooha sandwich is an open flat bread sandwich based on what I've seen during a Google search. If not a lot of results are showing up and the bakery itself is a result, you know that it's a unique menu offering. -Soujouk meat is ground meat seasoned with dry spices. -Nice hearty breakfast sandwich and you don't feel as guilty eating it with the "veggies" included on top. 2) Ajarski Kchachapouri - 2 eggs: -This pastry resembles the eye of Sauron with 2 sunny side up eggs in the middle with cheese. -Simple and delicious pastry, you can't go wrong with this. -Once again nicely seasoned, not too oily, gooey cheese and yummy runny eggs. -First time having one of these and I feel like it's going to be one of those dishes I'd immediately order again if I see it on a menu. 3) Lahmajune: -This is an Armenian pizza made with flatbread and a flavorful ground beef and tomato topping mix. -Nicely crispy flat bread and I love tomato mixed with meat. It's very flavorful without being too salty or overbearing. -Delicious type of pizza that I've never had until now. Would stop by again if I'm in the area.

Yelp
Found Sipan on Yelp and came here to try the lahmahjun. I was greeted nicely and ordered a couple things to go, I asked for one of the lahmahjun to be warmed and the guy asked if I wanted lemon - I was so confused and told him I've only had it plain. In all my years eating lahmahjun I've only had it as it comes and was never once served lemon with it or even asked if I wanted lemon. I didn't know it was a thing. He recommended that I try it and he was right - holy cow it was a different experience. I first tried it without and it was really good, but the lemon elevated the spices, it was SO good. They are on the smaller size but the topping was generous and flavorful, and the crust was perfect. Appreciate the warm hospitality, gift of knowledge, and delicious treat - will definitely come back! Private parking lot that is a bit narrow but doable.

Yelp
The absolute best ajarski I've had. So fresh and quality ingredients. Highly recommend for breakfast

Yelp
The falafel sandwich was very good and tasty. The customer service was helpful and he was a nice guy. They place and quiet and clean. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
I love Sipan Bakery! Literally everything they have is good but my favorite is the taco lamajoun. Sooooo delish! The staff is friendly and I like that its a family owned small business. I continue to go back all the time.

Yelp
Food was amazing & service was very warm and welcoming. The second you walk in, you can SMELL the quality of the bread and ingredients they use. I was pleasantly surprised to find out they not only make Mediterranean goodies like lahmajune, maneish, shawarma, and ajarski, but they also offer very tasty pizzas, paninis, flatbreads, and sandwiches. My son loved their pizza and I was especially fond of their chicken shawarma. Can't wait to come back and try the rest of their menu!

Yelp
Jonny is amazing! Is Customer service is great! Here is fresh and the taste is like no other place I've been before! The prices are good! I definitely recommend the olive choice. We always order ahead of time and when you arrive, our food is nice and hot :) The food is not greasy, and delicious!! If you're in Glendale, I will definitely stop by you won't regret it !

Yelp
Was looking for a good Armenian breakfast that had eggs. Discovered this place on a random google search and I'm so glad we decided to try it. Ordered the Lahmajune Omelette, the Glendale special, and the Kachapouri with sojouk. Delicious and we will be back!

Yelp
I was in the mood for middle eastern food. Originally, in search of the typical salad, lule kabob, shawarma, something of that nature. I rely on highly positive reviews and came across Sipan Bakery goodness, they did not disappoint! I was so happy to have found this place as this will be my new go to spot! Arrived on a Thursday afternoon and they were quite busy with what seemed to be a group of ladies enjoying themselves. Nonetheless, the owner was sweet and quick with our order. Got the Chicken Shawarma pizza, Lamahjoon and Kibbee (Kofta). The pizza was bomb flavorful and delicious, lamahjoon typical and Kibbee delightful! I thought the Kibbee would be a side of Kofta like the meatball but I was a bit surprised at what I received but it was sooooo good! IG Palate_Journey DOG FRIENDLY - Outdoor seating

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem. Everything is made to order. The zahtar mashruha(not sure of the spelling lol) with labne is a must try. A family run, friendly service. They have a variety of items on the menu to satisfy everyone's craving. If you're in the area stop by.

Yelp
Wonderful place. Delicious food. Kindest people. The service is incredibly kind, helpful and friendly. One of the things I noticed while there is how they know so many of their customers by name, that told me a lot of good about this place right from the start. The food was fantastic we had the breakfast pizza, spinach and cheese beorek and the khachapuri with bacon. I had to stop myself from over ordering, I love beorek and wanted to try them all. We will be back to do just that!

Yelp
FIRST TIME HERE: FAMILY RUN VEGETARIAN SPOT FAST FRIENDLY SERVICE CLEAN TASTY I don't have a control group to measure against, but this was an AWESOME EGG PIZZA THING. (Ajarski) see below. But first - THE BREAKDOWN: PARKING There's a very small lot in front that is relatively easy to get to heading East on Glenoaks. There's street parking around the corner (either side) as well. BATHROOM Didn't ask. SERVICE I arrived a little late (1pm) for lunch. Still plenty of people sitting and others coming in for pick up orders. Yet service was fast and SUPER FRIENDLY. First time: so I didn't know what I wanted and was slow. The young guy helping me didn't rush me and let me know what was available. FOOD late: some of the popular borek options were out of stock at 1pm. Still there were other vegetarian options available. Feta borek: Nice salty spicy flakey. A few minutes in the oven for a heat up. Spinach and cheese borek: Also nicely seasoned. And the spinach and cheese went from END TO END. you may have had borek that had "a little" stuffing inside at some other places. Here: This spinach was in the first bite all the way to the last bite! EGG PIZZA THING. Akarski Maybe you've seen it and wanted to try it. THIS IS THE PLACE. I had no idea what to expect (i'm from New York pizza). I didn't even know HOW TO EVEN EAT THE THING. I mean-it's got an egg on it. Wtf. Fortunately, I saw another customer working a 2-egg version. WAS HE WRONG? am I wrong too? See photos - Let me know. I kinda want garlic and onions on this thing, but it was awesome. DOUGH WAS RIGHT COOKING WAS RIGHT EGG WAS RIGHT who cares if I was wrong eating it. Yum. But seriously - am I eating this the right way?? How do you eat it? (Oh yeah, they offered tapatio with it, but I went without, adding only black pepper)

Yelp
I have passed by this bakery for years and never thought to go in. Well today I happen to walk in not knowing what they serve and I was greeted by a young guy. He was super friendly and greeted me with a smile. It was a small cozy place with seating inside and out. I saw that they had pizza but not pepperoni or cheese, I asked if they can make it and he quickly replied "yes". The small fresh pizzas were a hit... my kids loved them! They have earned my business.

Yelp
Sipan Bakery is a Armenian/Middle-Eastern- Halal bakery- that specializes is savory breads (boreks)/flatbreads (lahmajoon). I didn't see any sweets or cakes here. Boreks remind me of Middle-Eastern version empanadas filled with savory fillings such as potatoes, cheese, mushrooms, spinach and green olives, meat. Most of their boreks are vegan friendly. The lahmajoon are like personal pizzas except they are on the thin side made with minced meat/veggies, and spices. They also have wraps, plates, paninis, mantee dumplings, fusion-pizzas, and what I call: egg boats known as " Ajarski or Khachapori"... and TACOS! The owner is super friendly and welcoming. I ordered a few things and thought everything was great. I shall return to sample more delicious items on the menu.

Helen T.

Yelp
So delicious! It was my first time, and the person helping us at the front was nice and helpful when explaining the difference between different items. We got monte, lahmajune, and borek (mushroom and potato). I only wish I got more, but more reason for us to return!
google avatar

Hamlet O.

Yelp
Always good to eat at Sipan bakery. Lamajus is a must, ajaraski is a must for breakfast,(they make the edges and bottom crispy and medium well on the eggs with your choice of toppings), and must try the chicken shawarma pizza must must.

Abe Y.

Yelp
the best in the business. I love this place for so many reasons. Family owned and operated, food tastes great and customer service is amazing. I eat here about twice a month and it is always fantastic. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
The ajarski from Sipan has been my number one favorite foodie find in Glendale since I moved here. I've had the ajarski from one other place before and it didn't have the amazing flavors the Sipan does. The AJARSKI is delicious. I love pizza but I think these are better. It's like pizza dough with cheese and a perfect runny egg on top. I always get the sojouk meat and it is so flavorful. Loooove it!
google avatar

C J.

Yelp
Love their lahmajun. We've gotta try the pizza, too. The bakery smells incredible!! The staff are cheerful and welcoming, too.

Travis E.

Yelp
I was there for foole breakfast what a delicious meal they brought full onion and tons of vegetables, great service because I asked for a spoon the guy at the register gave me one very quickly even tho he has very busy They were amazing had lots of personality spend your money here !
google avatar

Yelp
I love their lebni zatar wrap. Staff are also very polite and nice people. Would definitely recommend trying.

Yelp
SIpan Bakery is the best Pizza joint in Glendale. We stopped here a month ago, and I ordered a breakfast pizza and some Middle Eastern Tacos for us. My girlfriend recommended this place to us. The Chicken falafel Shawarma Tacos were bomb. Pizza we all ordered had pepperonies and olived in them. Along with cut Bell Peppers. Had a great Middle Eastern Mediterrinean kick to them. Nice little family bakery here. Nice folks working here. Place is nice and clean. I cant wait to come back.
google avatar

Reta B.

Yelp
What an outstanding place!! I cant describe how good it is. This is a mom and pop shop, outstanding customer service and even beyond amazing food! Found this on yelp and decided to give a try!! Their Kachapuri is really good and so is their beef pizza. Its really small shop but its like a hidden gem.
google avatar

Emily M.

Yelp
Wow such a hidden gem! Cute store front in an unsuspecting little strip shopping center. So glad I found this when searching on yelp. Everything looked so good so I got pretty much 2 of all the pastries! Probably enough to feed like 6 people and came out to the reasonable total of $30. Most impressive to me was the soujouk meat pie. It's extremely flavorful and juicy. The mushroom maneish also excellent as well as the spinach pastry and feta pastry. My family also all loved the laymahjoon (omg Idk if that's how u spell it). So thin and crispy and the filling on top was addicting. They heat up anything you want or u can take it home and reheat. Will be back when I'm in the snacking mood!!
google avatar

Yelp
As a Lebanese American, I fully recommend Sipan Bakery's delicious and authentic options. My #1 is the lahmajune omelette, #2 falafel tacos (you're welcome), #3 Zahtar & labne mashrooha, #4 lahmajune, #5 spicy cheese borek and literally anything else on the menu here. The people here cook with hands of love. Very authentic. Very healthy. Reminds me of home/grandma. Sorry I don't have photos. We annihilate the food every time. Shout out to the fabulous staff here.

Yelp
July 15th 2023. We ordered from this place. I drove from Pasadena to Glendale excited. The food was old, fries where very hard and old we threw everything away. This is bad very bad. I wish I could say something good. But don't recommend

Brad O.

Yelp
wasn't planning on leaving a review but holy shit this place is amazing. I was told to try their lajmajune and came here for this. all i have to say is it took me back to my childhood. the most authentic lahmajune in all of LA county. coming back here every time from now on
google avatar

Jimmy P.

Yelp
The lahmajoon is an Armenian thin pizza, encapsulating minced meat, veggies, and spices. The edges and bottoms are crispy, with its eggs medium well done. When you bite into it, it's an explosion of flavors. Make sure to pair it with Jalapenos to get the most out of the meal!
google avatar

Juan F.

Yelp
Great food and friendly service. I drive here from Pasadena just for the chicken shawarma tacos. Some of the shawarma pizzas also look delicious.
google avatar

Beisan Z.

Yelp
Truly a hidden gym. The manaesh are too die for. The falafel tacos are so good. To my Middle Eastern family and friends must stop by.
google avatar

Suresh S.

Yelp
We had khachapuris and a cheese borek. These were all very good. The khachapuris we got with add bastirma and soujouk and a two egg version. The cheese that is used is delicious. I see why these are popular as they are delicious and filling. They make them fresh to order while you wait. The owner was friendly. Overall a good place to come and try. I wish they offered a good coffee or tea to drink with these as well
google avatar

Karine M.

Yelp
Weekly favorite!!!! Can't begin with what I like most: but my all-time favorite has to be Laymajun Omellete - to die for!!!!
google avatar

Diana E.

Yelp
Sipan bakery stays strong through the ages. Some favorites I recommend are the spicy cheese beorek and Khatchapouri with veggies and sojuk. Our new fav has been the breakfast pizza as well!!! A simple, no frills Armenian bakery to satiate your appetite for fresh baked savory foods. Beyond friendly service and a clean organized operation. My husband, 2 year old son and I are their #1 fans for a breakfast on the fly. Anytime we head to UPS store next door, we must stop in for goodies. Call in your order ahead and taste the goodness.
google avatar

William N.

Yelp
Ajarakan was so damn good. I have had many and one of the problems some places have is making it salty. Some of the local competition better step it up if they want to compete with this kind of quality. First time trying out Sipan Bakery, gonna be our go to spot from now on. Great price Unbeatable flavor Good portion

Herman O.

Yelp
I was there for foole breakfast what a disappointment they brought quarter of an onion no vegetable no parsley .bad service because I asked for a spoon the guy at the register got an attitude. They were rude had an attitude . save your money . No customer service need training in soft skills.
google avatar

James B.

Yelp
I came here for a quick snack to try the Lahmahjune, but the cashier recommended the omelet lahamajune and I'm glad I listened to his recommendation. It was fantastic! The lahmahjune is pretty much a meaty thin crust Armenian pizza. It's one of my favorite Armenian eats. The omelet was like icing on the cake and made it even better. I'll be back to try all the other items.
google avatar

John A.

Yelp
Good food and always a great service. I've been here few times over the years and the food is always consistent and great customer service.

Natalie P.

Yelp
Hands down best bakery in town. I love how fresh the lamajun and boreks are. The staff is friendly and welcoming! Sipan is my go to bakery for lunch and for events!
google avatar

Aimee N.

Yelp
Solid 4 star rating. This bakery mainly has various manaish for consumption. For those who don't know what that means, it is dough that contain a mixture of spices, meats, cheeses and other toppings. The selection is pretty good and the prices are even better. The quality and authenticity of the pies and other treats is definitely good. Would recommend to anyone looking for authentic armenian or lebanese manaish. Service is also great. Seems to be a family operation with various family members tending to customers and doing actual baking. Solid 4 star rating. If you can only buy one item, I would recommend the zaatar pie. It's fairly large and only $2. But ask for extra zaatar since that makes all the difference in the world. For an extra $.75, well worth it. Parking available right near store.
google avatar

Annie A.

Yelp
I have been coming to this place for a long time and have always been getting their beoreks and lahmajuns which are always amazing. I had an event last year and I used their platters and everyone loved it. I went couple days ago and needed a larger order since my mom had guests for lunch and we ordered chicken, beef and felafel platters. We also got 20 lahmajuns and 2 small (which were not small at all) orders of tabbouleh. My mom's guests all loved it and we all came home to eat the left overs. Beautiful presentation and fresh and yummy food. I would recommend you to use their platters for your events. I unfortunately don't have any pictures to include cause by the time we got home most of the food was gone.
google avatar

Josephine M.

Yelp
My friend found this place because he is a huge fan of katchapuri and I'm so glad I went along! The katchapuri was delicious and you can add a variety of toppings. The owner (I think it was him at least) was very kind and explained options to us and even recommended different vegetarian options for me. The food was fresh and super delicious. I'm literally craving another Katchapuri and will be back for more soon! Don't be afraid to try something new and get some yummy food here.
google avatar

Elena C.

Yelp
So, I've been wanting to try a kachapouri for a while now. And so I looked around Yelp for the best reviewed places, and bookmarked this one. So when I was in the area, I came! And the food was good. I was not disappointed. For the kachapouri, the small 1 egg size was plenty for me. They'll ask how you'd like the doneness of your egg. I like how the food is filling but not heavy, and service is adequately nice and prompt. Staff wore masks and there are only two outdoor tables of four. They are also on UberEats and Postmates if you want them to deliver. Good quick pitstop for lunch.
google avatar

Marianne K.

Yelp
Love the food there! Everything is fresh and made daily. I also catered from them and everything was impeccable and delicious. My guests loved everything we got!
google avatar

Sean M.

Yelp
Amazing food, ordered the beef shawarma pizza, the ajarski with one egg, and the open face maneish with zatar and labne, everything was outstanding! Definitely recommend! Great service too!
google avatar

Maggie N.

Yelp
We always stop here when we are in the area. Cheese breads - need I say more. Our boys love the regular cheese borak and we enjoy the spicy. Always fresh and they will heat them if you ask - hence the car eating photo. I also really like the feta. Come early for cheese breads as they can sell out - we got the last 2 feta and last 2 olive and it wasn't even noon! Zatar with cheese also disappeared in the car. Can't comment on the sandwiches as we live far and only make if once or twice a year so we stick with what we know.
