Schezwan noodles were SO GOOD! Portion sizes are good, flavor is excellent, I haven’t had food that felt worth the money in so long. If you’re missing the taste of FLAVOR, you will not go wrong by dining here.

Don't order veg dum biryani from here. I couldn't eat it. There is no masala and completely dry, with no taste. It just had rice. I gave 2 stars to others on the menu.

The restaurant was not busy, so quick service wasn't surprising. The 3 tandoori I tried were well seasoned and perfectly cooked. Especially important with the salmon. The naan was delicious and I was glad to get a relatively smaller portion. Otherwise I would have filled up on bread. I'm not sure if their chutney is house made. It is well seasoned, but not as thick as most chutneys are.

The dosas here are an absolute disgrace—easily the worst I’ve ever had in my entire life. They have the audacity to claim their dosas are stuffed with paneer or toppings, but what do they actually give you? Five pathetic strings of shredded paneer, like they’re rationing food in some war-torn wasteland. It’s insulting! Back in Vizag, I had a *Bahubali Dosa* for just 100 rupees, and it was a million times better than this overpriced garbage. This place is a joke and a scam.

Been here once or twice for take out and love the food. It’s very tasty and prices are reasonable and very good portions. I recommend this place if you want good Indian cuisine! ✅

The food here was excellent. I had the tandoori salmon wich was cooked to perfection. The garlic cheese naan was hot and fresh. We also had the sampler where the shrimp was the the star of the show. To top it all off they served a fantastic mint chutney sauce that paired well with everything that I definitely need to get the recipe for. The service was very nice as well. I will definitely be back.

It's a cozy, hole-in-the-wall kind of place, but don't let that fool you—the food is fantastic! We tried dosa, uttapam, idli, Medhu Vada, and everything was amazing! The dosa was crispy, the uttapam was flavorful, and the idli and Medhu Vada were spot on. The prices are really reasonable too, which is always a plus. We ended our meal with some warm Gulab jamun, and it was the perfect ending to a great meal. This is a great Andhra style South Indian spot in the general vicinity of the UIC neighborhood. Most of the menu is authentic Andhra/Telangana style food. I ordered the Fish Apollo and the special Lamb Biriyani. Both were pretty good! Fast service and cozy and casual seating make this a great overall choice.

Takes credit. Super fast service. The food comes out fast. The sauces with the dishes were good. The lentil soup is nice and warm. One sauce is Idli chutney is chilled and add complexity to dosa. I think 2nd sauce is parotta salna. Medhu Vada $7.99- fried doughnuts, inside is soft. Outside is warm, a little of crunch with texture Paneer Dosa ----- $ 8.99- it's a large large crepe. Soft in the middle, and crispy outside with texture. Upathhum 8.99- soft throughout. Would like if there was some texture on the outside. There's tomato and onion.

Located in Little Italy on Taylor, new Indian cuisine compared to others on the strip. I saw that people are dining in so I gave it a try. I was glad that from the menu they had most of my favorites such as garlic naan and butter chicken. I asked if they can make the butter chicken mild, which to be honest they seem to be the only place that can adjust the heat on the dish and was great. The nann was hard as a rock, not even appear to be fresh. Every entree was in a pint container. My total was $70 for 3 dishes. No service charge for credit card. Overall the food was decent and I would avoid the naan.

Butter paneer- 4/5 (sweet, tangy, and tasty) Will try more North Indian food, their South Indian is definitely nuce

I ordered for delivery today and shame on me for ignoring my instinct. I got a masala dosa and a chicken kebab platter and the food was really bad. It looked like a dosa but taste was terrible. The kebabs looked unappetizing and tasted just as bad. After trying them both, they ended up in the trash. Thank me for saving you the time and money and avoid this place like the plague. There are a ton of other great Indian restaurants to order from.

The food is awesome. We love the Malai kofta and Chicken Kadai. Great food at a great price point. Have not tried their south Indian so don't know much about it.

This restaurant does a ton of takeout business so it is very busy with people coming in and out. The dining room was also packed when we were there on a Tuesday evening but we didn't have to wait for a table which was great. This place isn't fancy but the food and employees make up for what it lacks in ambiance. I enjoyed the muttar paneer and garlic naan. Not my all time favorite Indian restaurant in the city but a great option nonetheless. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area. The staff was so pleasant and kind. They checked on us an appropriate amount and the food came out so fast!

Siri Indian Restaurant is a good spot for some reasonably priced Indian food. They offer a variety of Indian dishes in a simple setting. I went on Wednesday for their dosa night, where you can get unlimited dosa for just $15. They have options like cheese, podi, masala, ghee, schezwan, manchurian, spring, and onion dosa. I tried masala, paneer, spring, and mysore dosa, and the spring dosa stood out as my favorite. Some friends tried manchurian and schezwan dosa, but I honestly couldn't tell much of a difference. The paneer dosa didn't have much filling. Despite its simplicity, I'd recommend this place for Indian food. The dosa night is a great way to sample different types of dosa. The restaurant is small and can accommodate small and large parties, but only one large party at a time. It's not fancy, but it's decent. The servers are patient and keep checking in timely in case you like to order more items.. Overall, the food was good.

We had kind of a strange and disappointing dining experience at Siri when we stopped here for an early evening dinner on a Saturday. After a day out at a local museum, my husband really wanted Indian food, so a quick Google led us to this restaurant. Arriving there, we stood at the door for several minutes before the host/server came out of the bathroom. When she came to take our order and we didn't request naan, she seemed genuinely shocked and kept asking to confirm that we didn't want naan. It was as if it was the first time she had experienced someone choosing to not order naan. We had actually decided to order a cheese dosa instead to try something new. (Not that we expected the dosa to be an even swap for the naan, but we just didn't view the naan as a necessity.) After sitting there for about 20 minutes or longer, she came back to our table to ask what our order had been. My husband did his best to recall the exact names of our dishes. It was becoming evident that she hadn't actually put our order in to the kitchen - further confirmed as other customers who had come in after us received their orders before us. All in all, it ended up taking about 40 minutes or longer to get our entrees. The cheese dosa came out first. This is a thin rice and lentil crepe sprinkled with shredded cheese. It came with a sauce on the side that we both enjoyed, and we are glad we got to try it. Unfortunately, my Butter Paneer, a homemade cottage cheese cooked in rich creamy tomato sauce with fresh cream, was rather bland. My husband got the Malai Kofta, cheese and cashew dumplings simmered in rich, creamy onion sauce finished with fresh cream, but he found his dish a bit too spicy for his liking. This restaurant doesn't ask your preference for spice level. We would have ordered dessert if this whole experience hadn't taken so long. More importantly, I understand that mistakes happen, but we were both disappointed that no apology or explanation was offered for our wait. To top it off, the server directly hovered over my husband as he completed the final transaction, which made tipping more awkward than it needed to be.

This is probably one of the worst indian restaurants I've ordered from in the last year. I'll start with the Tikka masala that I ordered spicy, and it came cold with green pepper, which is not something common. The sauce was very acidic and bright red. The chicken was dry and hard to eat. It was absolutely terrible. I couldn't eat it. And then how do you screw up Naan? It was very thin and tasted old. The rasmalai was sitting on top of everything hot, so of course it overheated. It's a dessert that's supposed to be served cold. Regardless, it was also made very poorly. Tastes like cardboard. Terrible. Ughhh. So disappointed

Star rating is tough because.... Our food was absolutely fabulous. everything we ordered, and we ordered a lot was worth coming back for, until....... Service was not good. Waitress never checked on us once the food came out. We needed more water and she forgot our coffee. We went to the counter and took our own take out container to package up the food. We got her attention finally for our coffee and sat and enjoyed it. When we left every dirty dish was still on our table. Their take out business is busy and her time was spent on the phone and with orders. Constant traffic in and out, cold drafts with to go orders. Worst was their bathroom. It was the dirtiest bathroom Ive ever seen in a restaurant. The sink looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. BOH would close them down over this condition. I told the waitress of its condition. she said she was sorry and would tell them and that was it, she still didn't clear our table. Too bad about all of this cause, like I said, food is fabulous.

Decent place for Indian food. Ambiance is similar to a diner which I liked, but the service was a little slow. We ordered garlic naan, palak paneer, and butter chicken. The garlic naan was awesome, the main dishes tasted really good but had smaller portions of protein than I expected. It's very affordable though, and I heard they have an excellent deal on wednesdays for dosa.

According to Google, this place is in a 7-11 which is incorrect. It's next to a 7-11. We came here with some knowledge of Indian food. After conversing with our server we were opened up to a new chicken dish that went well with what we originally wanted (paneer Masala) She also recommended a few Indian sodas which were equivalent not to Coke and Sprite. Keep in mind that your food will be served on paper plates and you will get plastic utensils. I'm not sure why that is, but it does not distract from the flavorful dishes that they offer.

Everything on the menu is spot on good with traditional flavors and spice. I've tried their lamb korma, chicken and panner tikka, samosas, and their chaat items. Service is great and the food quality is always consistent.

Siri was ok. The medu vara was very good. Chutney a little bland. The food was too spicy but true to the part of South India that inspired the food, the Hydrabadi area, an area of South India which is know for the food being extra spicy. Kadahi chicken was so spicy we had to ask for them to make another bowl for us. While still dramatically less spicy it still was pretty darned hot. The uttapam was a little bit more like a pancake and lacked the crunch I typically like from this kind of dish. I will say to balance this review out, the guys we heard on our way out we're speaking Hindi saying "this food is unparalleled". So I offer this as an alternate experience to ours, and potentially a reference that this restaurant caters to a very niched audience from the Hydrabadi part of S India.

Awful! The restaurant was cold and uninviting. Used boxes of tissue for napkins. The food tasted burnt. Only plus, we found a good parking spot on the street nearby.

Pretty good. We placed a take-out order recently. The staff was attentive and friendly. We tried the following: Medu Vada : sambar that came with the vada was good. Chicken schewan noodles : spicy and delicious Chili goat: masala was tasty and the goat was tender. I usually like Goat but if you haven't had it before and FYI it naturally has many bones. Gobi manchurian- awesome will order again. Sweet sour with a kick and addictive Andra cashew chicken- awesome dish. Dry and spicy and finished with curry leaves Lamb chettinad curry - tasty with the right amount of spices. would order again.

Great Indian food, very hearty and fresh. The menu was massive so I will definitely be back to try other things. Their naan was to die for. Our server Navi was killer. It was busy and they had a lot of takeout orders but she still managed to be very kind and attentive. Prices are also very fair.

Not the best Indian food you would ever try but it is very nice overall. We liked the biryani at dinner but it is not the best biryani but their idli vada was one of the best we have ever tried. The quantity of the food was good too and priced very reasonably. I would recommend eating here. Plenty of things to try from their menu.

An authentic gem in the Little Italy area. I have visited pre-covid which I must say was so much better as they had buffet brunch/lunches. The place bustling and we had to share tables. To my surprise this made my experience better as everyone was having a good time. My roommate and I were the only non-Indian folks. We were making such a ruckus exclaiming how good the food was the people around us were all smiles. The chicken they had in their buffet curries was the most tender I've ever had. Albeit I haven't had much Indian chicken curries but from the 5 or so other places I've been to the chicken is just normal and dry. Sadly in this covid era there is no more buffet. They have relegated to a la carte with paper dishes and plastic cutlery. This is by no means a criticism on their part but a yearning for the old days. Food (7.5/10): I am basing this on it's current day status. The food and the experience was just better pre-covid (9/10). Dosa - always a customer favorite and fun entree in general. My one critique is that the potato filling is just lumped into the middle and not spread out. Chicken lollipop - an interesting dish I've never had before. Seems like they stick a chicken bone into a juicy piece of meat. Comes with a sauce on the side. The chicken is fried crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Very akin to a chicken karage, but better than the average. This is a great entree for sharing between 3 people. 2 pieces per person. I've tried a few curries and for some reason I can't find ones they used to serve at the buffet. Not sure if they just served different curries from the menu back then. The chicken makhani has a nice butter curry sauce but the chicken is just plain cubed typical dry chicken. Man I miss those old buffet days. Service/ambience (7/10): Pre-covid if you enjoy being immersed in the family and community crowd it was a (8.5/10) for me. You could tell people came here every weekend to eat with friends and family. A gem for the Indian community. Otherwise the service is ok. Not a commercialized but very local feel. So you have to be a bit proactive but servers are very respectful. Ambience nowadays, you'll still have a lunch rush once on the weekends I feel. I really do wish the best for this place to one day get back to it's prime.

Food was ok, the lamb was tuff and the tikki masala tasted like chef boyardee. It also was cold inside.

Really yummy! We ordered delivery from Siri through DoorDash and everything was packaged well and arrived spill-free. We got: - vegetable samosa (2 pieces - delicious!) - onion kulcha (just ok) - mutter paneer (fantastic) - Hyderabadi goat dum biryani (fine) - egg Szechuan noodles (yummy Indo-Chinese dish) - chicken lollipop (so tender) This is definitely a new favorite. My husband grew up in Northern India and these dishes were like ones he would have had there. The only dishes we wouldn't order again are the kulcha and the biryani. Otherwise we'd get them all again, plus some new ones to try! We were especially impressed with the texture of the paneer in the mutter paneer. Definitely up there with the best we've had. And the egg Schezwan noodles are super addictive. Can't wait to order again!

Excellent food, authentic flavor, and the food was spicy! Loved it. The service is quick, and there was no waiting, but the restaurant was busy on a weekday. The ulvacharu Biryani was out of the world, and firecracker paneer was delicious. A must if you are in the neighborhood.

Survived the snowy weather to warmed up with curries & spices! Its a very casual hole-in-the wall vibe. Servers are friendly and food come sout fast. OK let's get to the food: We started with the Onion Masala Dosa. First time dosa here and it was really good! The rice/lentil crepe was thin and crispy and there was an abundance of onions. There are also 3 various sauces to dip with that vary in sweet and tangy-ness. Try a bite with all 3 sauces and tell me what you think! Bullet Naan - the spicy naan they make it. The spice is there in small waves, but I like things really spicy. There is a kick to it. The chilies resembles Thai green chilies if you're familiar. Chicken Makhani - aka their Butter Chicken. It was creamy, chicken was not overcooked, but i was craving spice... go figure. Overall, I'm a fan of Siri and think the portions to the taste to the value is great!

Ordered Delivery from Siri. Both of my items Vegetable Biryani and Garlic Cheese Naan are well packed and good shareable portions. But the Raita is all leaked from the plastic box and could not taste it. I would have preferred the cheese Naan bit less cooked as the edges were burned a little bit. Biryani comes with Onions, lemon, Raita and Gravy. Veg Dum Biryani is authentic, Tasty and with good spices. Overall enjoyed the food and will order again from Siri. Thank you.

I order from Siri often, at least once a month. My go to is the paneer tikka masala - at one point I was a vegetarian, and this was my fix. I have since tried the chicken version, and the paneer is hands down where it's at. The dish is the perfect consistency of creaminess and taste. I was initially hesitant to go the paneer route due to texture, but the texture in this dish is perfect. It reminds me more of a tender piece of fish - and not at all like tofu. I can say that the naan is usually over cooked and they do not always give enough rice, but these are minor shortfalls. This dish is where it's at!

Probably the best Chicken Tikka Masala I've ever had! So deliciously creamy and mildly spiced! Siri is our go to Indian restaurant for either delivery or dine in. The dine in experience lacks ambiance but is more than made up for with the food! The owner is also really nice and comes over to check on your dining experience!!!

Super hungry and close to where our Airbnb was, and Yelp score was 4/5. So we went here Schezwan Noodles- the noodles were yummy, vegetables were well cooked. But it was a bit too salty. So, I would rate it 3.5/5 Masala dosa- perfectly crisp and soft too. The potato masala was also well cooked and a good mild spice level. Chutneys were flavorful, sambar was nice and spicy. So 5/5 for this dish!

Any time I order food for the company and we go for Indian, we always order from Siri! Last night I was craving it so much so I picked some up on my way home. They never disappoint! They are the sweetest people ever! This picture features their delicious Chicken Makhani (better known as Butter Chicken), Veggie Samosas and the MUST HAVE Garlic Naan! Simply amazing you guys!

The fatty in me was really wanting a solid Indian buffet to finally open up in the area and low and behold, my prayers were answered. The nearby Indian shop seems to have closed down- Siri just took away all the competition and it truly shows. Everyone including my students rave about their lunch buffet. For $12 any day of the week between 11:00 - 14:00, you have access to an incredibly large Indian buffet with all the fixings. From tikka masala to chicken vindaloo, biryani and fresh naan, the buffet had it all. You go up to the back and self-serve til your hearts content. The curries were fragrant and you can tell they were simmered for a while before being served. None of them were outright spicy so even novice spice goers will still survive. For dessert, you must try their Mango Kulfi. It was amazing, creamy mango ice cream that was the perfect end to a hearty Indian meal. The best part was that it was unlimited and part of the buffet .Each patch went by fast so grab it as soon as it comes out. Service here was on point as they kept our waters filled and our naan stash filled. I only had to get up once for naan and the rest felt like it was delivered to my table. Okay, it wasn't completely full-service, but really nice to have some fresh naan brought to us. One thing to note is that if you end up ordering takeout during the lunch buffet hours especially curry, they end up taking it from the buffet. It's a testament to the quality of the curries they serve because they are really good, but I'd be cautious if you want your food to be completely fresh. Siri is definitely a go-to spot for anyone wanting Indian in the area and I can't recommend them enough especially for the buffet experience.

We have ordered 4 times from Siri already and we always get the same thing - Chicken Special Biryani and Hyderabadi Dum Goat Biryani. These items are always quite delicious! This time we decided to try a different order so we got Vijayawada Biryani, Hyderabadi Dum Goat Biryani, Vijayawada Chicken Fry, Andhra Cashew Fry and Schezwan Egg Noodles. Besides the Goat Biryani, every single item was disappointing :( the order was wrong as well. They gave us Schezwan Egg fried rice instead of noodles, and it lacked spice and couldn't had more flavour. They had cashews in the Vijayawada Biryani which ruined the taste for me. Both the frys lacked salt, spice and flavour. The Andhra cashew fry tasted sweet which is not at all what I expected. The Vijayawada Chicken fry tasted too similar to the Andhra cashew fry, they tasted the same, like plain chicken pieces without enough flavour or seasoning.

We've been twice now, always on the lookout for Dosa (Husb's favy--he can get very picky) but it's definitely on point here; buttery, thin and crisp. We had the onion dosa (delicious), perfect garlic naan, and the lamb chili masala: they were the perfect brightness and spice level for me (Husb said it would have been better with fresh ginger), and the naan was wonderful. Chicken Biriyani and chicken 65 weren't as big of a hit, next time we'll stick with dosa.

I had heard a lot about this place from family and friends, especially their South Indian food, so we thought we would try it when we were in the area. It's a small place, with primarily street parking nearby, but I think the 7/11 parking next door might be available for customers too. We walked in and seated ourselves, but the server didn't even know we had walked in for a few minutes as she was doing something behind the counter. She was quick to take our order, and as you can tell, masala dosa and mango lassi were all we had (since that's what everyone raved about). The mango lassi was tasteful, sweet and cool and refreshing. The dosa came out individually, which I think was because it was being made fresh. However, they got cold pretty quickly. Also, there was hardly any Sambar to go with it, which was a disappointment. We had to ask for more Sambar and chutney a couple of times, but by the time it arrived, we had almost finished our meal. After delivering our food, the server never came back to check on us, which meant we had to wait until she was up front to even ask her for anything. Aside from the service, the food was average. I was not excited about the masala dosa and it wasn't any different than anywhere else. All in all, I wasn't as thrilled about my experience, but we left with full bellies for our car ride home.

Roti canai and chicken curry are delicious. I usually order two when I'm there. Lovely restaurant, nice staff.

This is my favorite Indian restaurant south of Devon St. it's a small lower level restaurant near UIC campus that has a very mom&pop feel. Food is served in paper plates and cups. Lamb seekh kabab is so tender and full of spices. All other tandoori fare is as crispy at the edges and delicious as you'd want. Many curry choices including vegetarian curries. We love coming here or taking out. They also have many different biryani if you're into it.

Loved the chicken tikka masala. Garlic naan was solid as it always is. The okra dish and dosa were meh. Overall a well-packaged and good meal, but not memorable

A good Indian restaurant! 4 stars! Ordered chicken lollipop, idli, chicken hot n sour soup, and masala dosa. Chicken lollipop- it was fresh but lacked spice. A bit on the milder side but good. The masala dosa was very tasty. I ordered it togo but I bet in restaurant it's crispy. The dosa was flavorful. Chicken hot n sour soup- this was my favorite. A very unique and delicious spice to this soup- it's the indochinese style. The idli was soft. Just like it should be. The food came with sambar, coconut and spicy chutney. All were great compliments to the dishes!

The butter chicken is so yum. Not a fan of the cashew chicken fry as I think it is a bit salty. The service is fast and accomodating.

If I could update this to six stars I would! Ordered out for NYE and the food is even brighter and more flavorful than I remember. Got the Bullet Naan, Dal Makhani & Chana Masala. Spicy without being overpowering & made with care. Wishing this business continued success!

To begin, I'm not an Indian food expert, have had homemade Indian food so I compare everything to my friend's mom's cooking :) Siri is flavorful. Particularly new for my palette as I always play it safe. It wasn't too overpowering or too spicy. It was just the right amount. Chicken Vindaloo: I was sad I only had two little pieces of potato, but it was still really good. This one has more of a tomato flavor than what I've had in the past, but that's definitely not a bad thing at all. The spicy level is moderate but does have a kick at the end. Very enjoyable. Hyderabad Chicken Dum Biryani: something completely new for me and I ordered it because it was recommended. There's a lot of flavors happening here. The onions are a good touch. I'm not a fan of chicken with the bone in because it's a lot of extra work....but that's me being picky, it does not merit a lower rating or take away from the flavor. All in all, I would definitely order from here again and give other dishes a try!

On Tuesdays, Siri has Dosa Nights which is a must try. It is pretty much the only place outside Devon Ave. where you can get authentic South Indian Food for Reasonable Prices. Dosa Nights are all you can eat dosas from a pretty extensive menu for about $13. The place can get pretty crowded on Tuesdays so be wary of that. Make sure to save enough room at the end to try the Nutella dosa (imagine a crispy dosa with generous slathering of Nutella).

Ordered the garlic cheese naan. It was very tasty however no cheese was in it. I was really looking forward to that surprise within the naan. Also ordered the lamb seekh kabob. This too had good taste, however was super dry. Had to moisten it up with lemon juice. I would definitely order here again, but would like the orders to be prepared properly. I am giving the 4 stars mainly for authentic taste. I ordered from another Indian restaurant down the street and was not authentic at all..

Doesn't look like much but this is the best Indian food in the city of Chicago. I am not Indian but I enjoy the cuisine. I have tried many different restaurants and I can say with certainty this is the best food. The owner serves about 10 dishes during the buffet and he modifies them daily. The food isn't greasy. Instead, the dishes are a delicious concoction of spices and flavors that will make you glad you gave it a shot. Personally, I come here for the buffet but the off the menu dishes are just as good. The Sambar and Daahl are outstanding.

The food is not bad. However, I ordered takeout once, and there was a piece of BROKEN PLATE inside of a piece of chicken. On top of that, the chicken was the wrong order. I had ordered chili chicken, but they sent me chicken 65. Obviously, I could not see the broken plate and bit into it. This broke off 1/3 of my molar, and I had to pay hundreds to repair this tooth. I called them, and they redirected me to text in order to resolve the issue due to a language barrier. Then, they stopped responding! This is completely unacceptable, as they refused to accept responsibility for this or even reimburse me for my meal or dental operation. I have ordered enough food from them to probably fund them enough to repay my dentist, so it's disappointing they wouldn't show a loyal customer like me any courtesy. I will never be returning and would not recommend this place to anybody, and they should be closed by health inspectors as this is an unacceptable accident and they refused to even take responsibility.

The food is delicious. Their chicken tikka masalla is so flavorful and creamy, the chicken is really tender . I order the garlic cheese naan with it. Really good! Definitely recommend this place.
