"Where Spices Speak: A Journey Through Siti's Heritage Kitchen"
There's a new flavor queen in town, and her name is Chef Laila Bazahm. At her latest venture, Siti, you're swept into a sensory journey where time honored recipes, passed from grandmother to daughter, celebrate the culinary traditions of the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the broader East Asian tapestry. The result is a vibrant world of intoxicating aromas, bold flavors, and dazzling visual artistry.
This fusion of cultures isn't just a mash-up-it's a harmonious dialogue of heritage, where bold spices, tropical ingredients, and ancestral techniques converge. Each dish feels like a passport stamp from a region steeped in flavor.
We had dinner with friends and left thoroughly impressed. From the crispy Ayam Penyet wings to the rich Beef Rendang, from the wok-charred Char Kway Teow to the pristine Hiramasa crudo, every dish was a visual feast and a celebration of flavor. We sampled much of the menu, and nothing disappointed. My personal standouts were the Hiramasa and the Rendang-both unforgettable.
Dessert continued the parade of delight, with a fragrant Malaysian tea tiramisu and the unexpected brilliance of Tom Kha lime pie ice cream-each one beautifully executed and full of character.
The atmosphere is vibrant yet comfortably relaxed, striking a perfect balance between energy and ease. While the beverage list is curated and modest in size, it offers standout selections like the Galangal Grove, which was an absolute pleasure. Service was brisk and genuinely friendly. I never felt rushed, and attention to detail was on point throughout the evening.
