9 Best Brunch Restaurants in Savannah, Georgia | Eater Carolinas

"Natasha Gaskill’s Thomas Square neighborhood cafe never fails to surprise and delight. While offerings change daily, guests can expect plenty of sweet pastries and tartines on freshly baked bread — that is, if you arrive early enough. Regulars often line up outside Sixby’s petite storefront and quickly fill the handful of patio tables. Tip: The cup of broth may be the perfect hangover cure." - Colleen McNally Arnett

Newest Restaurants to Check Out in Savannah, Georgia | Eater Carolinas

"Savannah’s long-standing pastry pundit now has a brick-and-mortar. After a decade of providing desserts to the city’s most admired restaurants and a splendid spell as the Grey’s executive pastry chef, Natasha Gaskill opened her sit-down cafe/bakery, Sixby, in Starland. The shifting but always gratifying breakfast and lunch menus offer seasonal sandwiches, sweets, and more. Evening snacks and $8 happy hour wines are now available on the patio from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m." - Kiki Dy

Wow the sourdough bread is one of the best I’ve had! So airy and soft - perfect texture. Got an iced oat latte and bread & butter with the jammy egg. There’s no indoor seating, but plenty outside. Was only just passing by, but I hear they change up their menu so I’m excited to visit again sometime.

You really can’t go wrong with anything you get here. Best sandwiches ever! Everything is so fresh and flavorful, and I love that the menu changes up so much. You can tell how much care is put into everything. I know running a restaurant/small business is not easy, and I’m so grateful for this place.

I am very very impressed with this place. The staff is insanely nice and Welcoming each time I’ve been and the food is great too. Love the bread. Photos are the pulled pecker Sammy (not on the menu atm I believe) and the fig peach and Brie sandwich with ham. Coffees great too. Thank you sixby staff!

Oh wow what a gem of a place! The best ham and cheese sandwich I ever had in my life. What was that amazing spread with dill pickles and packed with flavor!?! The bread is so fresh and crusty like a true baguette should be. Pear salad with perfectly poached was so so good! Stepping inside and seeing the chef and team hand-rolling the dough was great to see; plenty of outdoor seating in the shade. Absolutely 💯 highly recommend!

Great place for a quick bite! I got the breakfast sandwich and it was delicious, bread was light, eggs tasted great. Also got the iced coffee and it was pretty good. We had a dog with us so we sat outside, but enjoyed it very much.

Absolutely perfect in every way. Love the elegant use of a small space and that you get to be 'in the kitchen'. The food was incredible and meticulous (I had a blue crab toast). Lovely staff who took the time to make sure folks on the patio were warm and well fed. Thanks so much SIXBY it was a wonderful experience.

Really cute and friendly spot with a great courtyard. Besides the granola in the picture we also had the breakfast sandwich, which has this sauce and bun that I’ll be thinking about until I can get back. Also probably the best espresso tonic I’ve ever had.

You know it’s a gas operation when the water is served from a Berkey water filter. All dining outside, you walk in to order and you’re right in the kitchen looking in at them preparing the food. I saw the staff going back and forth fetching fresh, high quality ingredients. I got the smoked salmon, and it was crazy how deep red it was - not some artificial orange color. Buratta, tomatoes, and peaches also unreal. They bumped great jams too.

Yelp
I am glad to have this delicious spot close to work for lunch! The chicken sandwich blew my socks off. The flavors were incredible and completely unexpected but so well balanced. The sandwich includes za'atar spiced chicken, garlicky mayo, loads of pickled carrots, herbs and is served on a home made benne seed bun. I never would have put carrots on a sandwich but the crunch and flavor they added along with the spices used for the chicken are what really made this top notch. I did take off a star solely because there seemed to be no customizable options. I asked if they had onion or tomato they could put on the sandwich and the guy said they simply don't have any in the shop. I found this kinda off putting because it's a sandwich place and these are staples. Nonetheless, this is a great spot for coffee and a breakfast sammie or a delicious lunch pick me up and I look forward to coming back soon.

Yelp
A hidden gem worth exploring. This cute cafe has exclusively outdoor seating and when you enter to order, it's right inside of their bakery. I ordered the squash sandwich and a turmeric tonic. It came with chips and a pickle and was filling and delicious. Service was also great. It's the perfect little casual spot to meet a friend off of Abercorn so it feels very cozy. The food tasted fresh and left my gut feeling happy. (Parking: on the street)

Yelp
Different breads available different days. Thursday is my favorite with the multi seated but they have baguettes every day which are out of this world (one of the few places that don't use a sourdough starter, tastes like a baguette should). Might have a little trouble finding it but it's worth it. Pick up window in the back plenty of seating outside and they even put a blanket on the chair When it was so cold in January. Excellent coffee and espresso as well. Try it I don't think you'll be disappointed

Yelp
Cute quaint coffee shop in Thomas Square neighborhood. Also a bakery. You walk in and there's a small counter to place orders while the rest of the cafe is a kitchen and the smell of really good bread is all around. Latte was great, shakerato (espresso, milk, and sugar shaken over ice) was also great and barista was happy to add sweetness to the desired liking. Very no frills, straight to the point which I love. All workers were busy but were still quick to attend to us. Service was great.

Yelp
I've been to this little gem a few times. It is becoming my go to lunch place. I don't love frisée, BUT the pear salad with frisée , parmigiana, pumpkin seeds is lovely. The Salmon Tartine on their sourdough is top flight. I look forward to trying out the entire menu . Don't forget to take home a loaf of sourdough or a baguette. They do all of this in a very small kitchen. Bravo!
