It's time for an update. What's going on at Sixty Vines? This enormous and beautiful Italian restaurant in Crescent Court is always bustling with all kinds of people.. families, dates, friends, parties, and lots of suits who I imagine work nearby. People sitting by themselves at the bar, enjoying a glass of wine or espresso, hopefully both. I'd say make a reservation for weekends but honestly it's so big I can't imagine not getting a seat somewhere as a party of 1 or 2.
This last visit we ordered several items to share (we did gluten free options for all), and everything was pretty spectacular. We had the crispy zucchini which is lightly coated in tapioca flour and fried, served with peppadews, shishito peppers, cilantro, and a sweet chili vinaigrette. Get this!! There's plenty to share and the zucchini is sooo good and crispy on the outside, velvety soft on the inside. We also had the burrata... lots of creamy, cold, delicious burrata mozzarella on gluten free, wood-grilled bread, topped with lots of basil pesto, tomato and garlic confit, balsamic dijon vinaigrette, and sea salt. The tomatoes were perfect and you can almost never go wrong with burrata. Order this for sure.
We also shared a gluten free spicy sausage pizza: tomato sauce, house made sausage, mozzarella, provolone, pickled fresno peppers, fennel, and basil. I promise it's as good as it sounds. I also recommend the "creste de gallo" pasta: roasted chicken, mushrooms, spinach, and oven-dried tomato in a pesto cream sauce. Again, delicious.
The food here is certainly high quality -- cooked and plated beautifully. The wine menu is fantastic and the service is stellar. I'm kicking myself for not ordering the caramelized basque cheesecake with luxardo cherries at the end of our meal. How incredible does that sound? And it's also gluten free! Lots of gf and veggie options available at Sixty Vines. While I'm not sure how vegan-friendly they are, I imagine they're pretty accommodating.
