Sky Thai Sushi has sadly gone downhill. The restaurant was severely understaffed, leading to slow service and a frustrating experience. My pad see ew was dry and bland, a far cry from the vibrant flavors this place used to offer years ago when it was awesome. The calamari was bland with no flavor, adding to the disappointment. The edamame was decent with their own sea salt, but not enough to redeem the meal. I overheard multiple customers complaining about the food and lack of service, which echoed my own disappointment. Hopefully, they can turn things around, but I won’t be rushing back.

Absolutely CANNOT OVERSTATE how much of a hidden gem this place is seated right inside downtown Las Olas. Service and Food quality was excellent! Our server Shah was an absolute delight and gave us perfect recommendations for the happy hour! They actually give you 2 for 1 FULL drinks AND the happy hour plates are FULL plates from 4-7 on weekdays. The Thai Lagers were really my favorite, but their Whiskey/Sake Mule was really good too! There was SO MUCH to try that we'll have to come back soon. 🥔🔥Thai Fries were TOO FIRE! 😁 We couldn't resist eating them before the photo...imagine funnel cake taste, but presented like a bloomin onion served with a side of thin, sweet dipping sauce. Vegetable curry was also EXCELLENT. If you want THAI spicy, ask them. I can't do it anymore 😅 but my partner loves it. I got the Red Dragon and a Spicy Tuna Roll. Both were DELICIOUS and more filling than I expected! 👍👍 ALSO!! They validate up to 2 hours of parking if you use either garage adjacent to their building! 5 stars hands up 🙌 we'll be back soon to try more on the menu! ***only suggestion- maybe a sake bomb or a sake carafe could appear on a happy hour menu in the future? 👀👉👈

This place is worth a shot! 🤤 I didn't know what to expect and was very pleased with the food! You get nice portions! It was delivered fairly quickly as well! 🍣 You have a more basic selection of rolls you'd expect and also some interesting house specials! If you're looking for a solid sushi spot this is it!

Google
We visited on a whim on a business trip and had a fantastic visit. Delicious Sushi, Delicious Thai Cuisine, amazing service (I believe her name was Shannon?) she made me feel safe/seen immediately by taking my order and immediately bringing gluten free soy sauce to the table.🩶 it was so good I ordered it to go the next night, saved a roll and ate it on my plane ride home! Definitely worth the stop. Celiac Safe/Gluten Free options available 🥰

Google
I had a great experience at Sky Thai Sushi in downtown Fort Lauderdale. I ordered the lunch special with sushi, sashimi, and chicken teriyaki, while others in my group enjoyed fried rice with sushi and salmon with vegetables. The food was fresh and delicious, though the chicken teriyaki was just okay—still enjoyable. Despite the restaurant being busy with a large party and only one server handling everything, service was attentive, and the staff remained friendly and professional. A pro tip: if you park in the nearby garage, don't forget to get your ticket validated to avoid extra charges. All in all, a solid spot for tasty sushi and Thai dishes in a nice atmosphere. I’d definitely come back!

First time at Sky Thai and enjoyed some curry. Ambiance was great, had great service, and the food was good. Will come back to try some of the soups and a few cocktails.

The reasons that I like the Happy Hour here 1 I can sit anywhere not only bar area 2 food selection is full portion not mini or half portion 3. The prices are great food items happy hour only 7$ 4 drinks buy one get one free ( seethe info ) like 50% off not 2$ discount !!! 5 free parking for 2 hours at the building 350 & 450 Las Olas for the customer of Sky Thai Sushi 6 friendly staffs 7 nice and clean atmosphere Etc ,

Google
We had a wonderful experience at Sky Thai Sushi on Las Olas. My family and friends visiting from out of town absolutely loved it. The food was awesome, and the service from both our server and the manager was exceptional. They really went above and beyond to accommodate our many special requests. Highly recommend!

Yelp
STS is an upscale restaurant, but I was surprised that they did not have cloth napkins. It is not quiet and intimate--in fact, it is noisy. We had Crispy Edamame, Red Dragon Roll, and the Sexy Scallop Roll. A plus for us is they had soy paper which I love.Beginning to end China gave us great service as did his helpers.

Yelp
I used to be a big fan of Sky Thai Sushi but just like so many places in FTL it has become trash. I hate to use such strong language but I could not think of a better fitting word as I literally gagged when I realized what was in my food. I will be leaving it outside for the wild animals to finish. First- the food. I used to order from this place at least once a week. To use an example of one of the dishes of many that used to be amazing that is now pure trash- their fried rice entree. Not only did they decrease the portion to literally one half or less than the original size. But on top of that the ingredients don't match the purported ingredients on the menu anymore. They decreased the protein to 1/4 the amount and added random crap like Lima beans and carrots. Those two ingredients are not what is listed on their menu NOR something that was ever in it before this change. So basically they reduced the good stuff to a fraction and put fillers in that made me gag. Service- I used to work across the street for almost 5 years. So I would come here all the time after it changed over from the much better business Japanese village. The service used to be amazing. But again one more thing that has drastically changed. Lastly ambiance. If you knew the restaurant that was in this location before you would know all they did was repurpose the sane. So their ambiance is nonexistent as they simply never updated anything. Sadly one more of my favorite places in downtown FTL has changed so much. Considering I literally stopped eating my food to gag when h saw what they had snuck in my food.- I will never be back. Hopefully places like this are replaced with restaurants that understand what it means to keep loyal patrons. I don't like feeling tricked when I've been a loyal patron for many years.

Yelp
I prefer dining in rather than taking out here, especially for their daily specials. My favorite is the duck red curry, which comes with a decent piece of duck on top of a bed of vegetables. I'm not a huge fan of their sushi, but with limited options in the downtown area, it's not bad! Their lunch specials also come with mini appetizers like a crab rangoon, salad, etc. They aren't too busy during lunch, so you're typically quickly served and seated. Overall, a solid place on the downtown lunch rotation.

Yelp
I was very disappointed in the food order I just received Once in a while a treat myself to Crispy Duck. I thought I would give it a try tonight. The meal said it came with half of a duck, but I did not expect that to mean two legs and thighs rather than including a breast in wing. Additionally one of the quarters of dark meat was obviously either well over cooked or had been sitting around a while. Never should have been served

Yelp
My husband and I have been wanting to check out this place for a while now and so happy we did. The service was incredible! Nicole was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We decided to go with the meat, Goza, edamame, cashew chicken, stirfry, and chicken garlic stirfry. Everything was so flavorful. Definitely one of the best Thai restaurants we've tried down here in Fort Lauderdale.

Yelp
Decent place for sushi on Las Olas. Our server was great, and the food came out pretty quickly. My sushi roll was good, and my husband enjoyed the Drunken Noodles. The prices were reasonable for the area, as well. The atmosphere is very casual--lots of families and a few couples. It wasn't too crowded on Saturday night around 7 when we arrived. I will return when I'm in the mood for sushi.

Christina D.

Yelp
Been ordering takeout from here for years and finally ate at the restaurant. The decorations are sleek. The service was excellent and so was my pad Thai with extra egg. The manager even came by to check on me and mentioned that they will soon have a Noodle bar. I will definitely return.
google avatar

Yelp
The menu changed...Tom Yum soup...used to be mushroom heavy which I loved. Now it is more a veggie melody. Asked a question of server, and he stared at me blankly.

Yelp
Came here as I needed something quick for lunch before I had to head back to work. Ordered a Red Dragon roll with salmon and yellowtail sushi. Pretty standard fare as far as sushi goes. More solid than spectacular. Good enough to get the job done, that's for sure. Staff here were friendly, no complaints from me there.

Yelp
Sky Thai Sushi @skythaisushi Ft.Lauderdale, FL Fresh and reasonably priced sushi right on Las Olas. Service was quick and loved the patio seating. It was a nice vibe in the city. The premium sake flight had me feeling right. The fried Shumai was tasty and I loved the sauce they served with it. The red dragon roll was filled with shrimp tempura and eel, topped with seared tuna and masago Are you a sushi lover? #skythaisushi #lasolas #ftlauderdale #sushi #shumai #sake #Thai #broward #foodie #letsdrinkz #eatzwithsweetz #letseatz

Yelp
To start, I felt a little disappointed that at a place with "sky" in the name we found ourselves eating on the ground level. I definitely thought there was upstairs/outside eating but we were seated on the street level. A little lackluster inside and definitely felt overdressed in heels. The curry dish I had was actually really good though and full of big chunks of tofu. My boyfriend found his sushi not as impressive. Parking is public parking and a bit of a walk when it's busy but the surrounding area is busy and a little walk gives a lot to look at.

Yelp
This was our first time here. While walking up E Las Olas Blvd, we were looking for somewhere for a late lunch and walked right by this spot and decided to give it a try. We are glad we did. They have lunch specials until 3:30pm. The service was quick. The food is fresh. We had a California roll and shrimp fried rice. Both were absolutely delicious. We would definitely recommend this place and hope to make it back again.
google avatar

Yelp
Ordered a shrimp tempura roll, it was tasty but nothing special. Prices seemed a little high for average food, but the ambiance of this place is always a good time. Good place to grab a lunch special!
google avatar

Shawn R.

Yelp
Came in on a Saturday night because this was one of the only places that wasn't packed and now I realize that it's for a good reason. The food is just eh. Not "bad" fish by any means, didn't taste fishy or have a smell to it. But the rolls were almost boring(?). No unique flavors or twists on their signature rolls. I now see that a lot of positive reviews revolve around their non-sushi items so maybe it was our mistake. Maybe something with citrus or fresh herbs to help brighten flavors. On the bright side, service was great! Everyone was very friendly.

Yelp
Sky is a place I only go to when it's happy hour or when my company lets me expense a meal. The food is always good, but it's never worth the price for me.... which is pretty standard for restaurants on Las Olas. My most recent visit I went with friends and took advantage of the happy hour prices! The waiter was good, but the restaurant was virtually empty for a Thursday happy hour. Usually when I get food from here, I get take out so experiencing the ambience inside was a change. Tbh wasn't overly impressed with it. If you don't get sushi here, I highly recommend the red curry. Overall 4/5 stars because they're consistent with the food quality, and that's tough to do with take out.
google avatar

Yelp
Go here for lunch! So so good! So flavorful! Affordable pricing! Ambiance is great, inside and out! Service was prompt and attentive! Food....DELICIOUS! Was such a great sized portion too!

Yelp
Really big restaurant with nice outdoor seating, the food was actually really good! Our waiter was very quick and friendly

Yelp
Their frying oil desperately needs to be changed & the Ikuni seemed to be stale. They also took a long time to get the order done.

Yelp
Very pretty restaurant, but terrible service and average food. I made a reservation online for the same day, and there were many openings (should have been my sign to NOT go to this restaurant). We were seated right away upon entering. The gentleman who seated us immediately brought us water, and he was very kind to serve us. Our assigned server was nowhere to be found. No one ever refilled our water or was there when we had questions. We had to track down someone to even bring the check. The food was also very average and not worth it for the price. The chicken satay was dry, but the peanut sauce was good. The Mexican roll was missing the spicy mayo (as per the menu description), and it just tasted kind of bland. Overall, I probably won't be returning

Moni A.

Yelp
We went there for dinner, ordered fry Duck and Crab fry rice. Was served a quarter of Duck and a quarter of fry Chicken(legs and thighs) $27 There was no Crab meat in the fried rice. When questioned was told it was canned imitation Crab meat $22. Very Dishonest and customers need to pay attention. Would never spend a dime more with them..

Yelp
I've been here two or three times before but it's been at least a year since I've eaten here. My brother-in-law ordered the chicken dumplings soup and said it tasted like water with no flavor or spices. He sent it back. My sister has Seaweed salad and fried soft-shell crabs, which she said was good I had the pad see ewu with chicken which was good, it had a fair amount of white pepper for flavor but could have used a little more sauce. The service was good. The menu includes a full Japanese menu and lots of Thai Dishes as well as a full bar.
google avatar

Adrian P.

Yelp
Been here twice. Food sucks California roll smelled like fish. Fake crab meat was warm. Cucumber and avocado roll was super chewy and fish. Can tell quality is lacking

Eran W.

Yelp
Great service great food fun late night, snack and appetizers. Ferrari workers are very kind. Recommend the Gyoza California and ginger salad. Definitely recommend will come again.

Yelp
My coworkers frequent this restaurant and I had never bothered going to it until last week. A coworker and I managed to at last coincide for lunch, and well, we chose to go for Thai food. We ate outside, chatted happily, and people watched for a bit. Service was spot on. We never wanted for anything. Impressive for Friday lunch rush hour. As for the food, we went straight to entrees. My coworker ordered the pad Thai. I believe it brought chicken and he had it Thai spicy. It came with an accompaniment of a fried wonton and an egg roll. He let me choose one of the accompaniments and I had the fried wonton with sauce. I also sampled his dish, and while tasty, I didn't find it spicy. My drunken noodles in comparison, well, I ordered them with beef and I asked for spicy. I was afraid of Thai spicy, but eh, it turns out both are just flavorful spices that aren't actually spicy. Then again, I rarely find anything spicy, and my coworker is also a spice lover, so there's that. Shrug. We were in and out in the hour, so consider me surprised. Timely place with delicious food. I will definitely frequent this restaurant given its proximity to work.
google avatar

Rudy R.

Yelp
Super friendly place with great food. The handrails were great. I had a couple of spicy tuna hand rolls and the sashimi platter; they were fantastic. The place was quiet in the evening so a food place to just enjoy your dinner.

Ryan F.

Yelp
The sushi was fairly priced. The taste and quality was slightly above average. The service; incredibly poor. I was a table for 1 and waited 30 mins for my food (2 sushi rolls). It took me 15 mins to eat my meal and then o waited another 20 for the check to be brought out. All this to say two sushi rolls for a Monday lunch cost 37 dollars and took over an hour from beginning to end. In my opinion that isn't worth it.
google avatar

Nadia M.

Yelp
Food was great! 3 stars are for the service. The waiter was not helpful and was very rushed. He brought all courses at once and crowded the table (which were very small). The food however was presented beautifully, tasted great and the portions are very large.

Tatyana A.

Yelp
Loved my drunken noodles dish with vegetables, I recommend. Service is very nice, will come back.
google avatar

Alejandro O.

Yelp
Really good quality sushi, great specials, and a full bar. Nice staff and quick service. Pretty good spot in the heart of Downtown Fort Lauderdale!
google avatar

Isabel V.

Yelp
Was always walking by this place near my job but never really went in and tried. So I decided to give it a go! So happy I did because I was pleasantly surprised by the way it looks inside and the food they offer. I am always happy to see a lunch menu and this place has one and it's expansive! I tried the teriyaki chicken with the vegetables. It comes complimentary with a mini appetizer and I don't think you can alter which mini app you get. Both my meals were delicious and well proportioned. I walked out content that I stopped in and with my food in general. Already planned a lunch date for a future time to come with a friend.
google avatar

Yelp
WOW! Unbeatable quality for the prices. This was the combination shrimp pad thai dinner after I'd eaten my salad and half of my sushi roll. A dinner like this along the main strip in Las Olas for less than $30?!? My mind was blown. The combination dinners allow you to have a little bit of everything, which is perfect for the indecisive. The food quality is high, and the service is better than many sushi places along the strip. The cocktails are strong but balanced, so this is a perfect spot to pregame before dancing.

Kristen W.

Yelp
Happy hour specials and really cheap! The whole staff is very friendly and Shauna makes great drinks!

Alexis F.

Yelp
Excellent service and the food is delicious! Ordered the miso soup and it was divine!! The Beauty and the Beast roll is yummy too. They also have lovely vegetarian options for my daughter! Our server, Shana, was amazing at tending to our every need, and funny too! Will definitely be coming back here!!!

Yelp
TLDR: Great quick lunch spot in Downtown Fort Lauderdale. ___ I came in for a quick lunch and was really impressed with how quick and fast the staff is. I was in and out in less than 30 min. We ordered: Sushi. I wanted to keep it simple as my lunch date doesn't LOVE raw fish. Well...she didn't till she had these rolls! Now she's hooked. Sometimes you have to start with the basics. JB Roll (always my go to) California Roll (this was actually REALLY good here!) Spicy Tuna (it was EXCELLENT). Papaya salad - so fresh and delicious. Nice sized salad. It was great to share. Wonton soup - I needed a little something warm since it was chilly out. this hit the spot. Really great broth and the wontons were great. Overall solid experience.
google avatar

Lori W.

Yelp
Delicious sushi rolls! I ordered the red dragon roll with a glass of white wine and it was incredible. I loved the toppings on the roll and the amount of pieces included; however, I did order extra sauce on the side.
google avatar

Anna-Kay B.

Yelp
So this is a cute little spot on Las Olas. A friend and I was visiting a close friend who lives downtown. We all wanted fresh cooked food. The agreement came to Sky Thai. I was excited to try their Pad Thai as that is my favorite Thai dish-basic I know lol. I honestly did not care for my Pad Thai. It was rather bland and dry to me. I prefer mine saucy and sweet. Anyway, my friends enjoyed their fried rice and pad Thai. Shrugs. The staff is welcoming and nice upon entering and leaving the establishment. The spring rolls are delicious! Would I come back? Sure, but definitely not for the Pad Thai.
google avatar

Betsy S.

Yelp
I went here for lunch right on Las Olas- the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale. I did call ahead to ask about parking and I'm glad I did - you get validated (free) parking in the two lots next to it (the 350 and the 450 bldg). The validation is good for approximately 2-3 hours. This is key because it is not that easy to park downtown. In any event, we sat outside and enjoyed our lunch. They have many lunch specials but I opted for the sushi, sashimi with the sunomono-octopus, conch, kanikama, cucumber in tangy vinaigrette. It was all ver delicious. You have a nice view of the people walking by and you can space yourself from others. There was no rush to gave us leave. They bring the portable check out to you so that's good. You can get the receipt printed, emailed or texted to you if you wish. The inside is pretty as well if you choose to sit inside. I would recommend this place as the items are very fresh and the staff is nice as well. Give them a try.

Arthur S.

Yelp
My friend and I went to Sky thai sushi and we felt very welcomed with server Chana who was not only very kind person, but also helped us to choose meal. Excellent employee and very kind person

Jason O.

Yelp
This place is awesome. The food was great and the service was above board. Definirely recommend for a late night stop or relaxing lunch.

Sasha R.

Yelp
Chana is the sweetest bartender!! We will definitely be back for dinner. The happy hour menu is unbeatable!
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent service. Just stopped by while in town and found a great place. Chicken and pad Thai were great and dragon roll was delicious. Great beer and wine selection and happy hour starts at 4:00. Nice outdoor seating as well as indoor seating.
google avatar

Samantha L.

Yelp
Really delicious. I've been here and ordered from here many times now and each time I have eaten here I have really enjoyed it. The service is great and the wait staff are always very friendly and professional. The ambiance is nice too! I love their pad Thai and their sushi and I will be back.

Yelp
We had dinner before a show at the Broward Theater. The Sky Thai Sushi restaurant is conveniently located on Las Olas and has public parking close by. Be sure to get your parking ticket validated at the restaurant. The selection of fresh sushi items was extensive and quite delicious. My dinner partner eats a lot of sushi and he commented that Sky's items were excellent. His choices included the eel roll and the spider roll. He also enjoyed a cucumber salad with a nice vinaigrette. I had the pineapple chicken fried rice, which was served in a half of a pineapple. Can't get much fresher than that! Our only disappointment was the price. Dinner for 2 without any drinks or dessert was $70, and we did not feel particularly full.
google avatar

Sanita M.

Yelp
Pretty decent restaurant but nothing to write home about. The food was good but I'm sure there's a place to improve. Miso soup was bland, missing miso paste. I felt like adding salt. I ordered Sweet Potato tempura roll and it was good but had too much rice even after I asked to have less rice. Their vegetable gyoza was just an average, way too hard and crunchy. Also all of their curries contain dairy but I was told that it might (?) be possible to make it without dairy when the chef is in. I'm not sure why most restaurants add dairy (half & half) in their curries... once I was told that real Thai Curry does not contain dairy, unless the restaurant wants to make a cheaper version of Thai Curry. Would probably come back to try out more dishes. My husband really liked their Rainbow Roll and they have great specials for wine and champagne.
google avatar

Todd D.

Yelp
My family came to have dinner last weekend , before going to the the theater to see Anastasia. I read good things about the restaurant from it's reviews. My daughter found the restaurant, we like Thi & Sushi so it was a win win. The place was very nice and clean, liked the color combination on the inside. We were nicely greeted and brought to our table. Our waiter was very attentive & professional. The menu had so many great choices to pick from. I had some dumpling's for a appetizer which was very fresh & tasty. My daughter's had sushi rolls, & spring rolls, they loved them. I had the shrimp pad thi which was so incredibly fresh and tasted delicious. The serving was more then enough, plenty of nice sized shrimps, fresh scallions the accompanying sauce was incredible. Everyone really enjoyed there dishes. The entire meal was delightful, atmosphere very relaxing. Definitely want to come back for a date with my wife.
google avatar

Brianna G.

Yelp
Came here for dinner and it was an average experience. The sushi was delicious and extremely fresh but I was not crazy about the rest itself. The alcoholic beverages were horrible in my opinion but I would come back for the sushi.
google avatar

Bianca M.

Yelp
Tbh the food was good but the servers tried to over charge us then charge us a second time so for this reason I would great consider even coming back. I came here with a girl friend and wr had dinner and bottle of wine. I checked out and never got a receipts, I wish I did. Because then my guy met us here. He bought us champagne and ordered food for himself since we already ate. Their servers were impossible to get ahold of. Then finally charged us for my meal and bottle which I paid for already, not cool.
google avatar

Keri A.

Yelp
My experience was not good. Waitstaff was pleasant but the food I had was not good. The tempura appetizer was freshly made but the tempura was odd, not the usual tempura at all. I also had the shrimp tempura roll...think it was the dragon roll. The shrimp tempura was definitely not freshly made and the roll as a whole was not good. Restaurant was pretty empty, now I know why.
