On the Grid : Sky Ice

"Thai kitchen is immensely popular in the city, yet this is as authentic as it gets, and specifically Northern style. Sky Ice is a casual cafe, where food is served on plastic and paper plates and water in plastic cups. It’s laid back, and is all about food! Leave some room for some icecream - classic and exotic flavors including an absolutely delicious black sesame seaweed icecream" - Anna Griniuk

This place easily became one of my favorite spots now. Not only the food is awesome, but they also have a large variety of deserts and their own exquisite flavors of ice cream. No pictures of the ice cream, but I tried Black Sesame Seaweed and Durian and was pleasantly surprised. The staff is very nice and caring. It’s a very low key small cafe with great vibes. Great for both - a meal and a dessert adventure.

Google
the ice cream here is banging the only real reason to come and highly recommended by other friends for the same reason and now I understand it. it is goat had the 12-piece sampler and it was like an omicote experience. otherwise, the food included a trio of curries, a dinner sampler, roti chicken wrap which were decent and the most delicious to me was the masaman curry. otherwise the ice creams where it's at

There are tastier Thai restaurants in the city, but no one can out beat their ice cream. If they can tune away from the common American tongue for improving the herbal and fish sauce flavors in their Thai dishes, this restaurant would be perfect.

Google
Stopped by for ice cream after dinner and we tried the 5 flavor sampler: Matcha, Ube, Black Sesame, Lychee Rose, & Thai tea. The Thai tea flavor was my favorite, very rich in flavor and so yummy. Will be back for the 12 scoop sampler :)

Google
Great service, fantastic food, delicious dessert. Had the dinner tray - meat was like a mini skirt steak -- larb noodle, larb wonton, and chicken satay. Excellent value for the portions. The ice cream lives up to the hype; thai tea, thai coffee, thai coconut, raspberry cilantro and salted caramel absolutely deliver. 👌

I have been wanting to stop by here for some time to try their ice cream and I’m so glad I finally got to! We got their 5 scoop assortment where you get to choose your flavors. We had Thai tea, lychee rose, black sesame seaweed, cucumber lime and mango. It was a mixture of traditional ice cream and sorbets but all of them were super creamy and delicious. Sorbets can sometimes feel icy but these felt like creamy traditional ice cream. Every single flavor we had was amazing. So much so that my boyfriend got a cone of the black sesame seaweed, that is how much he loved it. We will be coming back to have more flavors and try the rest of their menu!

Google
Love love love! Came for the ice cream and desserts, and the menu is full of original Thai inspired flavors! We got the mango sticky rice (forgot to take pic), durian ice cream, raspberry cilantro ice cream, banana chocolate, and coffee ice cream. Sooo good! Definitely come if you like more unique and unusual but GOOD flavors!

The staff is friendly and attentive, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It’s a rare find to have such high-quality halal Thai food, and this place delivers every time. Whether you're a longtime Thai food lover or trying it for the first time, this restaurant is a must-visit! Highly recommended!

Yelp
Came here for lunch yesterday because Thai food plus unique ice cream & great reviews are a triple threat! GROSS, SALTY krapraw gai sub and the clear soup tasted like water. WTH! I'm the Thai food & Indian food queen...this was the WORST Thai food I've EVER had. It was as if the cook accidentally dropped the container of salt into the wok and thought the patron wouldn't care so still served it. The salt removed the supposed Thai flavors couldn't taste any of that. I'm still appalled...at even the mince job. The chicken was chunky. The rice was crunchy in parts. I've never had bland clear soup. The curry puff was flavorful but it was served soggy on the bottom and I didn't see chicken only potato. The ice cream flavors are unique. The manager/owner seemed annoyed when I was asking about (2) flavors and wanted to try them. I respected him when a customer approached ready to make an order by stepping aside to let her order while I decided on flavors, but he didn't seem to respect me with patience in disposition. He seemed to be having a hard day and tried to smile in spurts. He's lucky I gave a tip because I'm too considerate. The lychee rose sorbet was lovely. The Thai tea & Thai coffee were a nice combination to eat together.

Yelp
Loved this spot all the way. It's a cozy Thai/dessert spot right by the Barclays center. I ordered the khao soi with egg noodles and chicken breast and it was so filling and yummy. Definitely not bad for a good filling meal at $16.25. Had the classic Thai iced tea to go with it and perfect to the taste. Service was smooth and staff was very attentive and nice. Come here for a cozy lunch or dinner :)

Yelp
Stopped by this cozy, family-owned Thai spot in Brooklyn and I'm so glad I did! The curries were on point--full of flavor, and everything's 100% halal. Every dish was so good, it's tough to pick a favorite. Their ice cream is also homemade! Whether you're craving a good meal or something sweet, this place definitely hits the spot!

Yelp
If you're looking for an ice cream experience that's out of this world, SkyIce Thai Food & Ice Cream in Brooklyn is the place to be. Their ice cream is, without a doubt, the most flavorful I've ever tasted. The roti ice cream, in particular, is a game-changer with its delightful crunch of almonds and fresh banana slices--it's simply amazing! While I didn't try their Thai dinner options this time, the unique ice cream flavors alone make SkyIce worth a visit. They also offer predetermined topping combos if you're in the mood for something specific. The restaurant itself is cozy with 5-6 tables, but you can easily take your treats to go if you prefer. The service was quick and we were brought our ice cream in under 10 minutes. I'll definitely be coming back and wholeheartedly recommend giving this place a try!

Yelp
The food is great, service was good and the ambiance is cool. I would give them a 4.5 overall. I would come back & try the ice cream. The Flys that get in was a bit annoying. Thai ice tea is great, although the chicken in my pad thai could've been a bit juicer. The beef is really good and I would come back to try more. I recommend going & trying for yourself.

Yelp
Restaurant is small but it's clean. I like the decoration. I was really disappointed with my visit. Food quality is very bad, especially soup. I ordered Tom Yum Noodle Soup with Chicken Drum Sticks and it tasted extremely bad. Broth smells really bad and it had sour taste. I had to throw out my food. Would not go there again.

Yelp
Food: We were looking for a dessert spot after dinner and stumbled across this place. They had such a unique set of ice cream flavors. My group and I got to sample a few and they were all a delectable. I picked white miso almond and it was just what I needed. The miso gave it such nice body and a slight umami flavor. White miso almond Ice Cream: 5/5 Service: The workers were really nice and patient with our group. They were more than happy to help us with all the samples we were trying. Ambience: It's very homey inside. I loved the little propagations in the reused eucalyptus oil bottles. How neat.

Yelp
I live so close to this restaurant and I cannot believe I've been missing out on their lunch specials all this time. At only $14 you get an appetizer, a side and a main and the side is pretty big compared to what I expected! It was pretty empty in the restaurant but we were able to get a window seat without any wait. Menus were given super quick and service was really prompt and efficient. The place was cute like beach shack vibes and definitely casual but cute enough to go on a casual date. I ordered the curry puff, papaya salad and the Thai fried rice with shrimp and my party ordered the mushroom dumpling and the Tom yum soup along with the green curry. The curry puff is extremely tasty and enjoyed the pastry on the outside. This one is better than the mushroom dumpling although the mushroom dumpling is also good but only has two little dumplings. The sauce it comes with is really tasty. The papaya salad here is to die for and I've been ordering this for a bit already so I'm biased but I love how many peanuts it contains and it has a really balanced taste compared to some other ones I've had that were too bland or too spicy. The Tom yum soup was absolutely amazing as it warmed me up and it doesn't contain any shrimp but it's a perfect side to start your meal off. For the mains, the Thai fried rice was super fresh and I loved it with the shrimp. The green curry was so tasty as well you really can't go wrong. For dessert we decided to try their ice cream since they're known for it hence the name "skyice". The durian doesn't have much strong of a durian flavor so people who don't like durian can possibly enjoy it but as an avid durian lover it's mid for me. The honey ginger vanilla was not bad but ok. Overall enjoyed the food way more than the ice cream.

Yelp
Stopped by for the waffle cone ice cream sampler. All the flavors I got were tasty and the consistency of the ice cream was just right.l Service was nice as they were able to honor a price discrepancy between the menu and what was rung up. Would come back to try their food menu.

Yelp
Recently came to try the fun different ice cream flavors at SkyIce. I would totally recommend coming with friends (so you can maximize the flavors you get to try) we tried: ginger honey, white miso almond, lychee rose, Thai coconut, and ube mascarpone. I'd recommend every single flavor, but I think my favorite would have to be the white miso almond. Service was super nice and friendly. We were able to be seated right away. The location is also so perfect, it's right off 5th Ave and near so many other nice restaurants. We came specifically for the ice cream, but they also serve dinner which looked tasty!

Yelp
I did a take out order today so I can't remark on the ambiance. However, here is my honest no frills review! Appetizer wise: I didn't really enjoy the chicken satay, not sure why just didn't float my boat. The Curry Puffs were good though they could have used a bit more meat inside. Now for the highlights of my meal: I adored the No Carb Pad Thai. This was really very tasty and I would 100% order this one again and again! Great way to watch your figure! The Lemon Grass Fried Rice is also tasty. I stole a bite from my BF The Green Curry Chicken was phenomenal. Really fresh flavors and I am glad I did not ask them to turn down the heat. The flavor was superb. Only comment I have about this is I do wish there was a option online to swap the noodles for rice. (Maybe at the restaurant I would be able do this.) Mixed Veggies on the side were great option to have and I was glad I ordered it to brighten up my meal even more :) I didn't get the chance to try our all the amazing ice creams I see posted up on Yelp because I was afraid to order this for delivery, but after this first experience ordering takeout, I will be going in person to get that ice cream next. Thank you so much Sky Ice! You rock

Yelp
As a Thai food enthusiast this place is a gem of a find in Park Slope. Perfect for any date night or just a casual night out. The place was very cute, small and cozy and had tables inside if you decided to take out or eat in. The service was on point and attentive. To drink, The Thai iced tea with coconut milk was delicious and perfectly paired well with the house special: chicken coconut noodle dish. This dish was so delicious especially with the sour peanut dressing and paired well with the coconut broth. The flavors were out of this world. Also i would recommend ordering a side of Roti bread and fried egg to have on the side. The Roti bread was so warm and flavorful and tasted so good with the fried egg and the rice and noodle dishes. The Thai fried rice is a classic rice dish and tastes best with the grilled sirloin steak. To end a great meal the fresh mango coconut sticky rice was the cherry on top with such amazing flavors.

Yelp
Let's take it back to 2014 when Instagram was slowly gaining popularity and everyone in Brooklyn and their mothers were posting aesthetic pictures of the ice cream sampler from SkyIce. It's me. I was everyone. The pictures I saw online made me jump at the chance to try the 12 scoops on that SkyIce Palette, but as we've realized about social media, not everything is as it seems in reality. Yes, the ice cream was gorgeously presented, but I didn't particularly like about 6 out of the 12 flavors because they were notably salty. That one experience almost a decade ago kept me away from SkyIce until last weekend. Two of my friends asked to grab lunch there. I was a bit hesitant because 1) is SkyIce even good? and 2) They serve food food there? Well, apparently they do. And they're pretty good at it too. I ordered the Tom Yum Noodle Soup with two chicken drumsticks. It was either the drumsticks or chicken breast, but drumsticks sounded more delicious, and they were in fact quite delicious. The aftertaste is sour, which isn't unusual for Tom Yum but it lacked the spiciness that's commonly found in this dish so the sourness was more prominent. Ngl, I would get it again. But maybe I'd try the Pad Thai next time. Not the No-Carb version though because the server told me she's not fond of the papaya noodle used, which is some solid tip.

Yelp
We stumbled across this spot by accident. I was craving ice cream and this spot showed up because of their unique ice cream flavors. It's an absolutely beautiful and quaint spot on the corner of a busy block full of restaurants. The staff was so kind and seated us immediately. The menu is expansive with delicious dishes and offers vegan and gluten free options. It's also Halal. Most of the dishes are homemade, including the ice creams, making it even more of a gem! I didn't try the dishes because we had just eaten and wanted dessert. But, the dishes all sounded and looked appetizing! We couldn't choose which flavors we wanted so we opted for the Skyice Palette, which offers mini scoops of 12 flavors. We tried Thai Tea, Thai Coffee, Roasted Thai Coconut, White Miso Almond, Black Sesame Seaweed, Caramel Sea Salt, Honey Ginger, Belgian Chocolate Brownie, Ube, Cucumber Lime, Raspberry Cilantro, and Lychee Rose. The sorbets are gluten free and vegan as well, according to the menu. The ice creams and sorbets were all delicious and I recommend trying every flavor once if you can! My absolute favorites were the Thai Coffee, White Miso Almond, Black Sesame Seaweed and Ube. The Cucumber Lime and Raspberry Cilantro are very refreshing sorbets and perfect for the summer! I plan to visit this spot again to try the food but I definitely recommend it as a dessert spot if you're in the neighborhood!

Yelp
If you yearn for a unique and delicious Thai food experience in a friendly and unpretentious environment, eat at SkyIce! Walking down 5th Avenue, you may miss this intimate, family-owned and award-winning restaurant at the corner of St. Marks Avenue in Brooklyn. But once you've tasted the food AND the ice cream, you'll never forget where it is. I've eaten a lot of Thai food in my days, and I would say that the fresh ingredients and Northern Thai flavors are a step above the 'mass' flavors of most Thai restaurants. The experience was a pure symphony of colors, flavors, and textures that easily stood out from the rest. We started with Chicken Satay and non-fried Chicken Curry Puffs with baked pastry made from scratch (I could have just stopped there they were sooooo good). The Khao Soi Northern Thai curry with chicken left me wondering why I had never experienced this dish before. Fresh Salmon Larb with sticky rice followed, along with the beef surloin Kraprow with chili basil sauce (which I didn't get much of because my family devoured it). The owners Jon and Sutheera introduced each dish as they came, and it was clear how much they care about the ingredients and the spices that go into each one. All I could do was stare at the dishes and dive from one dish to the next and around again for 2nd and 3rd helpings! My family was 100% committed to tasting their award-winning, artisanal ice cream, so we ordered the 16-sample taster (vs. the 20, which we would have ordered if we hadn't been so full). Needless to say, each tasty bite left me wanting more -- and you'll just have to try them to know what I'm talking about.

Yelp
Small little Thai food shop near Atlantic. I've been coming here since high school days and it's always good. Haven't been here in a few years - this time I decided to get Tom yum noodle soup, my bf got the mama special fried rice, and we shared a roti with curry and a mango coconut sticky rice. The noodle soup was tasty- I love the sour plus a little spicy flavor- came with a good amount of noodles and choice of protein. The fried rice can get spicy after eating it for a while but bf loved it. He got a Thai iced tea to help with the spice. The curry that came with the roti was so flavorful- we ended up scooping it in to the fried rice. Service was super quick and friendly and their prices are decent. Would continue to come here whenever I'm in the area. Also, their ice cream flavors are so unique and def worth a try.

Yelp
My spouse and i are regulars- not just b/c it's close by and convenient, but b/c their dishes are good (all the staples are on the menu), their portions are good, their prices are good, and their service is fantastic. Also, they have homemade ice cream in SE Asian and conventional American flavors AND dried durian. So. Big points for their low-waste takeout packaging, too. I believe they also participate or participated in a closed-loop food delivery service during the pandemic b/c they recognized that they high reliance on takeout foods was resulting in skyrocketing use of single-use plastics & wanted to explore greener alternatives, and i thought that was a really responsible move on their part. But yeah, the food = win, 5 stars, yay forever. If you want things thai spicy, you can request that level of spice and get it. If you want it more moderate/mild, that's the default except on things that are explicitly marked as spicy. Full flavor in any case. Our regular dishes = me: all their noodles dishes, all their rice dishes. Spouse: all their curries, all their chicken dishes, and always the curry puffs. Both of us: sticky rice/mango dessert, and the coconut dessert (bonus: you get to keep the three little ceramic dishes the dessert comes in. I use them to hold bobby pins, paper clips, herbs and other small ingredient portions when I'm cooking, etc)
google avatar

Sandy D.

Yelp
Came for the ice cream last time, and now trying the savory foods this time around! The menu had a lot of spicy selections, but you can always alter them to your liking (aka mild). Starting with drinks, I had the Thai Coffee with Coconut Milk ($4), and the coconut milk completely overpowers the coffee taste, so disregard the dark color. The drink was extremely sweet even after mixing. Mom's Fried Rice ($15.95) was yum! It definitely had that home-cooked feel, and the chicken and shrimp were so delicious! Despite being chicken breast, the meat remains incredibly bouncy, soft, and juicy! The shrimp was not bouncy, surprisingly, but it must have been marinated a ton to have a drenched texture that still brings out a succulent taste. The Pad Thai with Shrimp ($14.95) can do no wrong here, and it laid down all the sweet, tangy, savory taste that I look for perfectly. The Kua Gling ($15.95) was recommended as a dish to get, but it was not recommended by my table. The minced chicken was dry here, that it had a chew to it. There wasn't much to this rice dish to be worth getting. The Khao Soi with Chicken Breast ($14.50) was too sweet for my taste. I had it better elsewhere, and there was way more broth than noodles. But big props again to the juicy chicken breast for making the dish more enjoyable. Aside from the must-get ice cream sampler, the workers were sweet to offer us Chocolate Spinach ice cream in celebration of their store's birthday. Yes, chocolate spinach! With friendly staff, fun dishes, and the diverse ice cream selection platter, SkyIce is a great Thai spot to check out whenever you're in Brooklyn.

Yelp
It is a bit small inside but there was still plentiful seating on a Friday evening. I got the Krapraw Gai Sub and it was great. I didn't expect the chicken to be minced and while it didn't look the most appetizing, I felt like the flavors really popped. It wasn't spicy at all despite the the signage on the menu. Overall, the service was great and I'd definitely come back. They have lots of other options I'd love to try like the ice cream and their assortment of drinks.
google avatar

Mae T.

Yelp
ordered the pad seew with chicken and iced coffee, both were good! the staff was very nice and the interior was super cute. they also have a lunch menu where you can get a app and entree for one price.
google avatar

Marisa M.

Yelp
Went here twice for their lunch special. Everything I have tried has been delicious. Service is great and relaxed and will let us stay and talk for as long as we need. It's cute and comfortable inside. I've tried the basil chicken, mushroom dumpling, papaya salad, soup and pad see ew. All excellent, I really like the mushroom dumplings. The basil chicken is a bit spicy. Can't beat 12.95 for a appetizer, soup or salad and an entree. Thai tea is also discounted for the lunch special and $3. I really enjoyed the Thai tea, both hot and cold. I haven't tried the ice cream yet but want too. Come here for lunch!

Yelp
A unique spot for that ice cream cravings. Open until 9pm, this thai food and ice cream place is the spot to go if you're looking for unique, not the usual flavors of ice cream like green tea, durian, white miso almond, thai tea, banana nutella, honey ginger, lychee , thai coffee and much more. They have an extensive dessert menu that choosing which one is a difficult one, i kinda want it all. I pick the sticky white rice with the mango sorbet and the jackfruit black rice with the toasted coconut ice cream. Both are very flavorful, feels like I'm transported back to Thailand and Philippines. The coffee shop is cozy with antique cute decor all throughout the shop. If you pay with credit card, they have an additional 3% to your bill. The only downside is the parking, since it's along a busy street, it's really a challenge to find one. But overall it's worth the trip, cravings satisfied!
google avatar

Honghui Y.

Yelp
This has quickly become one of my go-to's for Thai food in the neighborhood. The menu consists of classic Thai dishes (pad thai, drunken noodles and your various Thai curries) and everything always comes out super tasty. Be sure to check out their mock duck satay - it's a fantastic vegetarian appetizer that even the most loyal of meat eaters would enjoy. I have not tried their homemade ice cream yet but with the amount of unique flavors they have, I certainly plan to do so in the near future.

Yelp
I tried a bunch of dishes here and not one was a miss. I was pleasantly surprised by the mango sticky rice dessert. My friend sampled the icecream and also enjoyed. This is deff one of my top takeout spots :D

Colin B.

Yelp
Delicious food, incredible customer service, and a great value. The lunch special is probably the best deal I've found in the city. The pad Thai, Tom Kha, and thai tea are all perfect choices. Will absolutely be back, especially to try the ice cream which looks divine.

Yelp
This is an own of the most delicious ice cream I have ever tasted. The flavors are superb!

Yelp
After a meal nearby, we decided to get some ice cream here as friends were raving about it. I was bummed they were out of ube mascarpone as my friends love it since ube is life. I decided to order the roasted thai coconut and black sesame seaweed. I love these flavors so I'm soo glad it didn't disappoint. So good! We took home their white miso ice cream and it's great with cookies! My durian loving friend ordered their durian ice cream and all of us were hesitant to try it. I've tried durian many times and I just can't get with it. But I decided to try it again that night and wow! I'm not saying I like durian now but their durian ice cream makes me want to eat durian. Actually I might only eat durian ice cream from this place. Great service! Good deal! Definitely a must visit.

Yelp
I tried their ice cream palette many many years ago, before it became Instagram popular and I remember it being good... This time it was not as good and much pricier. I paid almost $25 for 12 mini (2 bites) scoops. $19 + tax + card processing fee !!! + tips. I don't know where the card processing fee comes from. There wasn't a sign big enough stating that fee, if there was any. None of the flavors I got were memorable. I got all their ice cream flavors, except for the durian one and added the lychee sorbet. I am definitely not coming back for their ice cream. If I decide to come back it will be for the food.

Christopher B.

Yelp
Skyice is a novel eatery. Superb food served flawlessly. Terrific portions, novel menu selections, exceptional staff, very fair prices. A total commitment to quality. The ice creams and sorbets are pure, refreshing, and creative. New flavors: Strawberry Sour Cream Tamarind Sweet Chili Lemongrass Pandan Carmelized Pear with Magnolia Syrup Beyond imagination! Fantastico! Whenever I'm in Brooklyn I am totally delighted to "visit" SkyIce. Thank you SkyIce!
google avatar

Fiona Z.

Yelp
I admittedly haven't tried the Thai food here, but the ice cream is 5 stars. As the highest compliment my Asian parents would say, it's not too sweet. It was strange to just sit with my friends and dine in with ice cream, even though they have other food on the menu (which I want to be back to try). It was a rainy weekday and we were the only ones in, which made our visit more enjoyable. I tried a little Thai tea and black sesame and seaweed. Overall, the flavors tend to be subtle but they're good. I loved the scoop of durian flavor that I ordered. It wasn't intense, but it was definitely durian. In fact, I think it would be a more...palatable introduction to newcomers to durian.
google avatar

Elaine D.

Yelp
Only had the ice cream here, but was incredibly impressed by the service and flavors! Stopped in on a weekday night and there was a good crowd seated inside. Not too much of a wait, but the counter area was't the most spacious for both my party of 2 and the party of 5 in front of us. We sampled some flavors and decided on the sampler cone, which was five mini scoops with toppings in a cone for $8.95 + 3% credit card fee. We got the roasted Thai coconut, white miso almond, lychee rose, durian, and ube mascarpone. All of them were delicious and had a special edge respective to their flavors-- the coconut was toasty, the white miso almond was nutty, the lychee rose was light and fruity, the durian was strongly durian-forward and creamy, and the ube had a mascarpone flavor that distinguished it from a generic ube flavor. The variety of toppings was a nice surprise too, with a good mix of sweet and savory (flowers, wafer cookie stick, pretzels, veggie chips, etc.), The woman who took our order and scooped our ice cream was also super patient with us deciding flavors and pointed us to the photogenic wall outside after we started taking pictures with the ice cream. Since the weather was nice, we stayed outside and sat at one of two tables on the patio there. There was a good amount of seating indoors though. Overall, would definitely come back for more of their desserts and savory foods!

Yelp
I love stumbling into cute little mom and pop shops that have amazing product. The Vegan Thai Tea is what drew me in. Having a lactose sensitivity makes it hard to enjoy good ice cream and also Thai Tea. So i went in to try that and the green tea. Needless to say I walked out with pints of Banana Nutella ice cream, Lychee Rose and Cucumber Lime sorbet. All AMAZING. And their ice cream actually does not bother me, which is a plus! I will most certainly be back.

A delicious spot on 5th Ave. It was my first time here and came in for the lunch special. It was perfect portion and everything was flavorful. Dessert is always very fresh and an amazing selection of ice cream flavors

Yelp
I've never had food here but I have had the ice cream many times. It's phenomenal. The Thai tea flavor is great, nice texture to it. mango is great too but the lychee rose flavor is.... insanely good, like ridiculously good.

Yelp
More like 3.5 but I'll round up. First time trying this place via Cavier. Delivery was prompt and food was well packed. The order was simple--soup since it was a rainy, somewhat chilly evening. This place is more about everything noodles so don't expect the usual Thai stir fries such as Spicy Basil. If you're familiar with Tom Yum soup, the appetizer, pint version, you might appreciate that there is a quart version with noodles on their menu. Tom Yum soup is spicy and sour and one of my favorite Thai soups. I left out the addition (and extra charge)of a protein. The soup includes tofu, vegetables and rice noodles. The noodles were packed in a separate container which was a smart move given that noodles tend to consume the broth in soups The soup was delicious albeit a bit sparse. If this is the only thing eaten, one could feel hungry shortly thereafter. Honestly, I wasn't hungry but two identical soups came out to $36. This included tax, gratuity and fees. I'd say somewhat steep. Nevertheless, it was pretty good and worth trying.

Yelp
I've been here once before, at least 4 years ago, primarily for their ice cream flight. I recall having a positive experience, but this time, I feel a little differently. First, they weren't very accommodating. All restaurants I've been to in the past would help charge phones, but here they wouldn't. Even after my friend bought a charger, they directed her to the outlet near the door right by other seated customers. Second, the mock duck Pad See Yue (usu. spelled Pad See Ew) was meh. It wasn't that flavorful. My friend ordered chicken Pad See Yue, and for some reason, her dish looked smaller than mine. At the end, I ordered Ube Mascarpone ice cream for dessert, which satisfied the palate.

Yelp
When I went up to order, a cockroach crawled across the counter. The woman said they were spraying them and that it was fine--but I think that's a health code violation, right? I ordered khao soi. The chicken was pink when I took a bite, and had a strange rubbery feel to it. The noodles were also very soggy and much softer than you would expect. In the past I've had a good experience, but with the cockroach sighting and the decline in the quality of the cooking, I don't know if I'll be back.

Yelp
Nice small place with great food, desserts and service. I love the Massamam curry, it's just warm yummy and delicious. I also like their pad Thai. They have a ton of good desserts and many different ice creams and sorbets. I like Mango sorbet with sticky rice.

Yelp
Really cute Thai place near me that has solid food. I usually order for takeout and it never disappoints! I have heard great things about the ice cream but still yet to try. Looking forward to it!

Yelp
Cute place. Smelled really good so my friend and I went inside to try. The restaurant is very airy with the windows open so it's perfect for covid seating. My friend got the Tom soup which was really good, and green curry which I tried. Both were really good. I got the Massaman curry which was really good. Huge portion and very flavorful. I added some spices to make it more spicy and it came with white rice. There's a lot of ice cream options as well! Staff was really nice. I'll definitely go back!

Yelp
I've always been curious about their unique icecream flavors (for example Seaweed + black Sesame?? Never have I even imagined that, maybe I'm not that creative lol) but because we wanted to try many flavors, we decided to order the skyice Palette, which comes with 12 small scoops, flavors of your choice. And then I was in the mood for some coconut sticky rice, so I got that as well. There were 13 ice cream flavors in total, and my friend didn't want to try the coconut, so we asked for the remaining 12 flavors. Unfortunately, they didn't have Belgian Chocolate Brownie, we had to choose a sorbet, we went with raspberry cilantro. The icecreams we had: Thai Tea, Thai Coffee, Durian, White Miso Almonds, Green Tea, Black Sesame Seaweed, Caramel Sea Sault, Mango, Honey Ginger, Vanilla Bean, Banana Chocolate Hazelnut. Every single scoop was FULL of flavor, we were impressed! Sometimes when it comes to desserts with different flavors, you end up just tasting a hint of it, but definitely not with this one. My favorites were thai tea, banana chocolate hazelnut, and white Miso Almonds. Im not a durian fan, but if you are I'd recommend to try it!

Yelp
SkyIce Sweet & Savory is an adorable and cozy place for Thai food & desserts. We drove all the way from Queens and it's definitely worth a visit. The staff was friendly, attentive and served everything quickly. There is a great variety of options on the menu. We had the Appetizers Sampler and their signature Skyice Palette: 12 mini scoops of Ice Cream. The appetizers were pretty decent and it was great to try all the authentic food when we couldn't make the decisions. The chicken satay was well-grilled and tender. The SkyIce Palette was the best and we love the idea of having 12 flavors at once. The ice cream was amazingly delicious, rich and creamy. Our favorites were the Thai tea, mango sorbet and taro.

Yelp
I found this place on yelp because my family was craving some ice cream and all the photos of the ice cream looked extremely appealing. When I got here, I found out that they also serve Thai food and I just couldn't resist!! We ordered 3 dishes: Thai Fried Rice, Pad Kee Mao, and Khao Soi Curry. All three dishes were really tasty and priced at around $13, not too bad. The fried rice was flavorful and fragrant. I wish I paid an extra for shrimp though because the chicken was a little bit dry. The Pad Kee Mao was incredible! It had such a nice spice level and flavor was very enjoyable. The Khao Soi Curry was something I never tried before but I was really excited about the fact that it could be ordered with a chicken leg. This dish really impressed me because it came with not one but TWO whole chicken legs and they were fall off the bone!! It was stewed so nicely and it really absorbed that nice coconutty curry. I was also so ecstatic about the fact that they used egg noodles which is not as common. I'm not sure why because they're AMAZING and they're my noodle of choice. Even though this dish was supposed to be spicy, it was a lot more sweet than spicy but that didn't really bother me much. But if you're ordering this dish for the spice, I'd suggest trying something else instead. Now for my favorite part - DESSERT! I totally forgot to take pictures because I ate it too fast but the ice I got was fantastic. I ordered a pint because it was $8 - only a dollar more than the large and it allowed me to get two flavors. I tried white miso almond and lychee rose. I have no idea what white miso almond is but I will definitely tell you that it's delicious! I was searching more for ice cream, rather than an icee type dessert, but this definitely hit the spot. Both flavors were extremely unique and fragrant and very refreshing for the palate. Even though I found this restaurant by accident, it really came as a clutch for us during this quarantine! I enjoyed every last bit of this meal and will be back for more, during and after all this craziness.

Yelp
This was AMAZING the service was impeccable. The owners were extremely nice and sweet and gave us a bunch of free samples. We came here to ice cream and it was just amazing. The owner creates the ice cream flavors all in her own. In the amount of time she has owned this place she made around 300 flavors! The decoration have a really nice old timey feeling. This place was just amazing. I would recommend this to anyone! 10/10!

Yelp
Although I've been a fan for years, COVID-19 has made me appreciate SkyIce more than ever. Any business that continues to make and deliver top-notch ice cream during this time is doing the lord's work. I've always thought of this place as an ice cream shop that serves Thai food rather than vice versa. Many of their wonderfully unique flavors have just the right balance of sweet and savory. I'm especially partial to the black sesame seaweed, honey ginger, Thai tea, and roasted Thai coconut. The cucumber lime sorbet is also very light and refreshing. However, in the wake of this pandemic, they've also become one of my go-to delivery spots, and I'll be damned if they don't also have delicious savory menu items. I'm obsessed with their perfectly seasoned and baked chicken curry puffs served with a refreshingly sweet and vinegary dipping sauce. The khao soi is also very good, as are the tom yum noodle soup and pad thai woonsen. The Kang Ho was decent, but milder than expected. I have two pints of their ice cream in my freezer as I speak... well, type. Never thought we'd be in this for the long haul, but at least I have the essentials.

Yelp
My favorite Thai spot in the area that has the 12 balls of icecream sampler. I always get the sampler and choose 12 flavors. This time I got green tea, Thai tea, lychee rose, caramel sea salt, chocolate brownie, mango sorbet, sesame, and some other flavors that I excitingly pointed to. All of them were great and they look so pretty too. I also got the beef satay as a snack and it was juicy and tender! Definitely dip into the peanut sauce! We also tried the hot Thai coffee and that was 10/10! Warm and hits the spot!
