Skylawn Review - Garment District - New York - The Infatuation

"Skylawn is a rooftop bar on top of the Embassy Suites on 37th Street. And while that might not sell you on it immediately, it’s actually pretty fun up here. To get to the roof, you have to take a special elevator that has only one button (it’ll feel a little like you’re sneaking into the hotel). Once you’re there, they have a few giant version of games like Jenga and Connect Four, and during the summer, there’s also a rooftop movie series you can buy tickets for in advance." - Hannah Albertine

We had an amazing time at Skylawn — a spot with breathtaking views of downtown! Rooftops, city lights, the skyline… everything looked absolutely stunning. It was the perfect place for a photo shoot — every corner felt like a postcard! 📸✨ On the lower level, there are plenty of cozy places to grab a bite, enjoy coffee, or shop for souvenirs. I especially loved the botanical café — such a relaxing, green space with a great vibe. There was music, a live DJ, and a stylish yet laid-back atmosphere. 🌿🎶 Skylawn truly left a lasting impression. I’ll definitely come back to explore even more. To be continued… 🌇💛

DOPE!!! Cool spot to pre-game, meet up with friends, study, chill solo, date night! Definitely come at sunset for the Sky lawn or be extremely HOT like me and my son. But it was still so cool to see the skyline. The building looks like a business for office workers but it’s a legit mini-food mall on first floor depending where you enter. One entry point, you’re greeted by hundreds of beautiful plants!! 🪴 I think some are for sell. So chill, there was a little quiet sitting area with all the plants. A beautiful plant lined stairwell. To go to Sky lawn, find the food court, walk all the back and there is an elevator 🛗 or the stairs in the middle. There are several staircases to access the Sky lawn. The Sky lawn was huge plenty of sitting areas with many skyline viewing points.

Very cool spot driven on the interstate and have seen this spot but first time going. Great views and photo opportunities up there and it larger than it first appears you can go 360 degrees around which is nice.

This was a cool spot. There was a food court inside with lively decor/architecture. I visited to attend an event at the Skylawn on the rooftop. It was nice. A DJ was playing music and there was a pop up mini bar and gelato stand. The view of the downtown Houston skyline was amazing!

Google
I recently purchased tickets to watch the fireworks at Skylawn Houston, but the experience was a major letdown. The fireworks display wasn't even intended for our group! *The Issues:* *Misleading Advertising*: The event description and marketing materials suggested an exclusive fireworks viewing experience, but it seemed like we were just crashing someone else's party. *Poor Communication*: When we asked about the fireworks, the staff seemed clueless. *Waste of Money*: With ticket prices this high, we expected a top-notch experience, not a subpar display meant for someone else. *Advice to Others:* If you're considering attending an event at Skylawn Houston, be cautious and do your research. Make sure you understand what you're getting for your money, and don't expect a high-end experience without verifying the details. Lessons Learned:* - Research the event thoroughly before buying tickets. - Be wary of overpriced tickets and vague event descriptions. - Check reviews from other customers to ensure it's a legitimate event.

Love this place — perfect for walks, chilling and taking pictures with stunning views 🥰 The design team did a great job with all the “take a shot” spots!

It’s a scam! I paid for $41 ticket for a building blocking. 4th of July. The best one is the last guy on parking lot 🤣

Yelp
Parking can be hectic, but once you're in this place is amazing! Food, open air roof area! Great place to hang out.

Yelp
Incredibly educational with amazing views include some of the murals. The Christmas display was also breathtaking!!!

Yelp
Different, in a good/fun way. See downtown Houston from a park-like setting, on the roof if the renovated/repackaged Post Office. Buy or bring a lunch for an urban picnic or just stroll around or relax on the artificial grass or a bench.

Yelp
Cool spot. Not sure if it was the day of the week or the time if the year, but it was not that impressive either the greenery nor the surrounding space. I guess I just expected more. The market leading up to it was very cool and we wanted to see the other side of it on our way out, but when we went to exit the rooftop, following a green sign that said exit, we found ourselves locked in the stair well. The door on the guest floor said it was an emergency exit four and that an alarm would sound. Since all of the other doors on the floor were locked, including the one we exited from, we had no choice. We opened it and no alarmed sounded. It took us to the back of the building and we didn't want to walk all the way around and up the stairs since we were out if energy from the heat of the stairwell and having to walk up and down those stairs to find a way out, to see the other side of the market, so we just left.

Yelp
The food hall and sky views are nice. This is not a bar or hangout vibe. We came here after our first day party and this one is flat.

Yelp
This might be the baddest rooftop in all of Houston. There are other rooftop spots of course, but few can come close to the location, accessibility, space, and ultimately, the view of Houston's skyline. It's become a perpetual destination for me whenever I'm taking people around or whenever I just want to kick back and enjoy the vistas of downtown Houston. This place is accessible through POST (#1), which over the last year has become a true destination for locals and tourists. Unlike POST Market, the concert hall, and even the parking lot (#2), the Skylawn is completely free. Whether one is celebrating a special occasion under The Outpost or eating a food court meal at the dedicated table area, or rocking a cityscape photo shoot or just looking to get some air, the Skylawn is where it's at. It's an ideal for a date, a solo wanderer, family fun, and seasonal activities. There is never a dull moment here because there's always something going on. During big events, such as New Year's or any citywide celebration, the rooftop can get crowded. But for day to day fun, especially compared to the rest of the venue, the Skylawn is really the cherry on top. (#3) ___________ (#1) https://www.yelp.com/biz/post-houston-houston (#2) At least after 75 minutes ... (#3) Mind the pun.

Yelp
Interesting space to hang out on the roof top with cool music. Comfortable breeze if you are visiting at end of October to winter time. The only downside is that after an hour the parking goes up to $5 per hour. Food court descent.

Yelp
Great place to grab food from downstairs food court and "pop a squat" ( Pretty Woman reference). Great views at night of downtown Htown. 1ST learned of this area from the Yelp Elite January kick off party .Thank you CMs Jando and Farrah for that. Have since been back many times for Coffee and Cars events and to eat downstairs.

Yelp
Beautiful outdoor space. Lots of room to spread out and to look at the beautiful skyline. They have restrooms upstairs as well. Took the stairs all the way up (maybe take the elevator it needed). Lots of different seating opportunities.

Yelp
I have three visits to POST Houston under my belt since its late 2021 opening. Two of those visits involved climbing the famous spiral staircase that's prominently located in the center of POST Market to check out the Skylawn. But while the whole venue and its bustling food hall/court have earned Yelp TLC from me, the rooftop was deprived ... until now. Houston has one of the most beautiful, photogenic skylines in the world, and the Skylawn is an ideal place to look at it in all its towering glory. It's best to swing by when the skies are clear and the weather is cooperative day or night. I was fortunate enough to get a picture taken of me with much of Downtown photobombing me during my first visit. *Laughs* I couldn't help but feel I was on top of the world. If you have friends or family who visit, take them here. You're bound to have a blast at this up-and-coming Space City landmark.

Yelp
Terrific views of the downtown Houston skyline. It is particularly nice to go near dusk and enjoy the sunset and then the lights of the city. There's a nice event venue and, stage, with some provisioning for adverse weather. Still.pretty warm up there in the searing heat of July, but one can always escape downstairs to the food Hall.

Yelp
The sky lawn rooftop at POST is a vibe on its own. This is the perfect destination for a cheapskate date, to find peace of mind after a hard day at work or as an event space. I would most definitely get married here. The sky lawn overlooks a beautiful view of the Houston city skyline. You can see all the buildings glitter at night in the city and the heavy traffic during the day. There are lawn games children can play, seating to relax and enjoy and easy access to POST's food hall for a bite to eat on the lower level. Definitely make a trip here while visiting Houston. It was one of my favorite parts of my trip.

Yelp
Skylawn is a nice rooftop park offering great views of the Houston Skyline with a food hall and mixed use space below. I stopped by with a friend during a recent trip to Houston (June 2023) as we were looking for a nice place to take in Space City's views. Most of the rooftop's square footage is actually unusable as its covered with gardens/green space which looks nice but makes the walkable areas seem crowded even when there aren't a lot of people there. Despite this, its a great spot for a photo op and seems to be popular amongst photographers for shoots. I thought the food hall downstairs (POST) was pretty scammy with very high prices for average food. They charge for the small and crowded parking lot and only allow for a free 20 minute grace period on weekends.

Yelp
I just loved this place being my first time here. There is plenty to do and plenty to eat. Great variety for every taste. Service was great and ambience is casual. A little bit on the pricey side. A regular tea was over $5. We tried the waffle fries and sweet potato waffle fries and both were delicious. Came for the Fab 5 concert and we really enjoyed it very much. The guys in the band had great attitudes and didn't mind taking pictures with the people requesting them. Would definitely recommend especially now during the holidays. Staff was friendly as well as security. Enjoy the beautiful lights and Houston skyline from the rooftop.

Yelp
Great views with plants and seating. Place to sit and eat and several covered areas. Could use a drink venue upstairs as it is such a nice place to sit and take in the skyline.

Yelp
Overall, an expensive place to hang out. Trendy and fun. The rooftop has a great view of the Houston skyline (hence the name), and has some fun games up there... connect-four & corn hole. Parking is a plenty, free for up to 75 mins & $5/per hour afterwards. No alcohol up top, but able to bring ice cream (I know because we did). Seating for the most part would be on the 'lawn' area. Plenty of food & drink options, cafeteria style, before heading up.

Yelp
For months I have been coming to this spot for sunsets. I have seen a few concerts here in 713. I have come for lunch with friends. The food court in The Post is amazing with artisan style restaurants. On Tuesdays you can get 20% off your food order with Apple Pay. If you carry your own water bottle on the regular, there are water bottle fill stations next to the restrooms by the food court. The rooftop is the real highlight at The Post. You have the Skyfarm which is an ample garden on the rooftop. And then the Skylawn is a fabulous place to come share a picnic, play games with friends, take photo ops, listen to music, have fabulous conversation, or just dillydally for a spell. Go early to see the NASA exhibit. And I love going on nights when there's live entertainment in the amphitheater. Check out the website for all upcoming events, including rooftop yoga. It's absolutely worth a drive from the burbs. you have to pay for parking on the website online which is a little confusing, and the only thing that is inconvenient about this venue. Paying for parking is not clearly listed on the website and you have to dig for it to find it. And until you pay, you are stuck in the parking lot. Otherwise, if you're into a scenic view, greenery, neon lights, entertainment, and relaxation, this place is for you. It's great for every age. I highly recommend!

Yelp
I absolutely LOVE this space! It is so beautiful whether you go during the day or at night and the views are absolutely spectacular! Pefect for a date night or even a family activity and there is a big covered space for hosting events. Here I am enjoying the view.

Yelp
When the weary permits, this spot is beyond gorgeous. Being downtown you're able to view the beautiful skyline and scenery! It's a great place to sunbathe, meditate, read a book or have a picnic. Also great for a beautiful wedding or outdoor event. There were plenty of people taking great photos, laying around and relaxing or enjoying their meal from the food hall below. This will definitely be a hotspot during the spring/summer sunsets.

Yelp
Came here with a friend and it was so cute! It really does have the perfect view of Houston and lots of great greenery so it would be great for pictures for sure! I also love that they have various 'life-size' games available like connect 4, jenga, and a bean bag toss. Other than the Skylawn. Post is super cool because it is full of interactive art exhibits that rotate year round AND even better, it's full of amazing food and drink options. There is literally something for EVERYONE to enjoy at Post HTX. Here's an Instagram reel that better summarizes everything to do here! https://www.instagram.com/reel/CbN4xIcruHt/?utm_medium=copy_link

Yelp
The best time to go is at night. The city lights are romantic and beautiful. The skylawn is spacious and has alot of seating areas to eat, socialize or just hang out. Great couple date, friends outing and family friendly as well

Yelp
Spent the nice time there, with my lady went upstairs to the rooftop and enjoyed some quality time and looked at the wonderful view

Yelp
Great scenery, beautiful view of the Houston skyline at night. Rooftop bar and games. Great for photoshoots, families, events when the weather's nice, definitely getting more and more popular with the food hall scene. Parking can be tricky at POST overall especially with events/concerts in the area, but this rooftop is definitely worth the visit!

Yelp
Such a fun rooftop park with the best city views! Went to Post HTX for lunch on a Sunday in March then stumbled upon the rooftop - found a DJ and people enjoying music, the outdoor greenery, and good vibes. Family friendly. If you come check out Post & the exhibits, definitely check out the rooftop while you're here!
google avatar

Yelp
New spot! Lots of good food good vibes, super huge atmosphere of chillness. Lots of activity's and on Sunday they had a cool market stuff lots of cool goodies to buy!! Good music good vibes !

Yelp
I went there this afternoon with my wife. The parking lot said "free parking before 4pm" and it was 3pm, so we parked on their lot. We had a great time, but in leaving, we're told this was "special event parking" and would cost $21 to leave. This is an interesting place to visit, but I would not park there as stealing from the public is part of their business plan.
google avatar

Yelp
best view of the city skyline, by far. anytime of the day or night. sometimes there is live music or other events and they also decorate it super cute for the holidays

Matthew I.

Yelp
4th of July weekend it was a headache. Their ig says you need a ticket to attend the event and no one was checking for the tickets it was over capacity on the roof, people sitting on the walk way. Was told can't bring a lawn chair and I saw everyone else with a lawn chair. One long bar called (unknown address) had one bartender and she had an attitude with all the customers, she should had closed the bar if she was being overworked. Post HTX is a cool place to go but only when it isn't a holiday.

Yelp
Renovated building used now for small concerts and food court. The place is quite unique, very modern looking and preserves some of the original building's features. When I was there they had a photo gallery reviewing the history of the place which used to be a main/central postal office. The food court is all pretty much fast food but asian, mediterranean, southamerican, and many other origin/fusion food types. It is really good for breaking up the routine and going out for an eat or just have some drinks at any of the multiple bars they have there. All food and drinks are at the food court downstairs and you can take them with you upstairs to the rooftop, which has tables and benches to sit, surrounded by greenery, a (under construction) lawn, a fountain, and great unblocked views of Downtown Houston. I did not go there at night, but it is probably very pretty due to the lights they have set all around. Parking is free Mon-Thurs for 175 minutes, then it's $5/hour, during Fri and weekends it is just free for the first 30 minutes. No shopping, nor other "canned services" it is just a great place to hang out without caring much about anything else.
