Slapfish

Stopped by for a quick bite while waiting for my flight out of LAX. There were plenty of seats, so dropped my bags while ordering at the register. It's an airport, so high prices are expected, but it was almost $20 for 1 taco. Quality was about as expected at the airport. Food wasn't bad overall, but price didn't match the quality and portions.

5 stars purely for the lobster grilled cheese. Lobster was fresh, bread was perfectly toasted and buttered and the cheese pull was amazing. Seriously one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had! The Pacifico was good too

Paid $45 for eggs and toast. It was a total rip off, but it was good for airport food. They also automatically add a ridiculous 18% gratuity… for ordering at a counter??? How bout just pay your own employees Slapfish?

The lobster roll is very expensive for what you get. It is quite a bit smaller than I have had at other Slapfish locations. However, it is good and they fries are as well. Also, the staff was nice, but the mandatory 18.5% gratuity was a bit much.

Avoid (if you can find anything better around which is unlikely). Two tacos and a bottle of water for $26...and they automatically charge you an 18% tip!!! So for $30 you get two tacos swimming in water, see picture, and a bottle of water.

Food is overpriced for the quality and quantity ! Clam chowder soup is full of potatoes and very thick! Salad is on a flat plate, so there are barely some vegetables and a few shrimp on the top! They add 18% tip to every order!

Worst. Airport. Food. Ever. Pathetic dishes, ridiculous prices. They add 18% gratuity without asking (fine print found somewhere) and then have the nerve to ask for an additional tip!! Shrimp sandwich is basically a slice of toast with some tiny shrimp thrown on it and lots of seasoning salt. Never again. Rip-off!

Wow, didn't believe the low score before seeing what I got for 31.. Fish is small, dry, stiff, tasteless; fries are soggy. This is the new low for airport food. Be aware!

I always eat here when I'm flying out of LAX through Delta. Yes, everything at the airport is expensive AF, but I really think Slapfish has the most reasonable prices considering it's airport food. Is it still higher than you'd get outside of LAX? Yes, but considering the quality of food you get, I think it's the most fair and the closest to real life food. I've had trashier airport food that cost much more than this. I always order the fish taco, which may not sound like a lot but is actually a HUGE taco that takes up a whole plate with a large fish filet. It's $13.50 and it's delicious. I love the large basket of seasoned fries, too. They have a great variety of seafood dishes, sides, snacks and a full bar, too. If I'm in a rush or don't have time before my flight, I let them know and the servers always do their best to have my order out as fast as they can.

Definitely on the pricier side. The shrimp breakfast burrito was NOT worth it. The tortilla needed to be grilled more. The fries weren't even crispy. Barely any shrimp. Kinda bland. Thank goodness for salsa Rona and sour cream. Still the burrito was so soft and soggy. For $16.45, I would pass. Also ordered fish n chips, which 2 fried fish + fries = $20. If you wanted 4 fish total it would be $5 more. Overall, I liked this one more. The tartare sauce was tangy and good. Fries were crispy and well seasoned. 18% gratuity was automatically included in the bill when you dine in. Wait time was kinda slow. Katherine was nice and doing her best to accommodate the guests though. What can you expect from airport food??

I love Slapfish and was sad they left Huntington Beach I guess the rent was too high so imagine my excitement seeing one at terminal 2 Lax. The reason they only get 3 stars cuz it was outrageously expensive $68 for a tuna, grilled cheese w lobster n a Coke, Comeon man, at that price why did you mix lobster w fake crab? The taste is not the same as I recalled back home. I didn't taste butter or lemon Not sure if I want to order a lobster sandwich at $38. Buh bye! Later in the day I just saw the bill n was furious. I'm so mad I just knocked off another star, it's a take out order in &out, no tips were called fir but 10% is more than enough, my husband never checked n got ripped off. It's now 2 stars n I'm not going back there.

Came by here while on a layover. It's a nice spot but the server was more interested in talking to her team member vs helping others. The grilled cheese sandwich was delicious though and they definitely didn't skimp on the lobster. All in all a good spot to stop by for a quick bite when at the airport.

I got a breakfast sandwich from this place while waiting for a flight to Aspen on Delta. It was $10 with an automatic 18% gratuity added for my "convenience". I gladly paid, because in the neighboring terminal, Homeboy Bakery was selling a similar sandwich for $18! The sandwich was actually pretty good. It comes with two eggs, bacon and cheese on a good looking brioche bun. It took about ten minutes to get my order, which appeared to be freshly made.

I've been to the OG Slapfish spot in OC's Huntington Beach, and I've been to the two spots in Indianapolis that Slapfish has established, and now I've been to the Slapfish spot in LAX. I can say that Slapfish still slaps here in the airport like it does elsewhere. I didn't get anything fancy at this LAX spot -- just an order of fries. But the fries were a lot: a whole basket! And they came with a tasty dipping sauce. The fries are slightly seasoned with some sort of paprika seasoning that is immensely delicious. This Slapfish at LAX is a great spot to visit if you want to watch a game, because they had several TVs on with games (I saw football on some of them). The service is also incredibly quick and friendly. And if you are in a wheelchair and by yourself, you're in luck because there is seating just for you near the bar. But if you're not in a wheelchair, there are also seating options for you, including tables and high-top seats that face a wall, in case you just want to eat your fries and not interact with anyone (hi, that was me).

Great service and the only place open after 1030 in terminal 2. Great double bourbons! Clean and friendly. Didn't eat but based on what I experienced I'd order without hesitation.

Ordered a breakfast burrito to go and was forced an 18% gratuity. Not an option, just a tax. Fairly aggravating.

BUYER BEWARE!! Just ordered a couple drinks and french fries and the server did not give us a copy of the itemized receipt which included 18% gratuity of $7.98! Not knowing gratuity was included I tipped an additional $5.00. The place was kind of a dive so we headed to another place in the terminal and learned 18% gratuity is included at LAX. Total SCAM!

Pretty good for overpriced airport food. Portions are small though, but the flavor was good.

Very overpriced and closed too early. My flight was at 1.30 AM. Yet everything was closed at 10pm. This establishment stayed open until 11pm but as we were eating they were cleaning around us then closed the shutters as we sat there. It wasn't relaxed and very expensive. The glass of wine was small and overpriced. The staff were not friendly but nice. Busy cleaning. You order and prepay at the register 18% mandatory tip added. Yet no service?

Fish taco was excellent. Best food right in front of the Gate in Terminal 2. Pretty and tasty! Adding salsa sauce came with made the whole difference. The bread is good. Good sandwich with veges.

We all know food at the airport is too expensive. That aside, I was pleased with the grilled fish taco at Slapfish. I was honestly surprised how big it was. The fish was cooked nicely and paired well with the cabbage, radish, and awesome sauce on the side. I would definitely eat here again in the future.

I was in LAX for a three hour layover, and stopped by Slapfish for lunch. I ordered the fish and chips with an extra piece of fish. The food is a bit pricey, but that's to be expected at an airport. Fish itself was okay, not great. Fries were a bit old, which was disappointing. The sauces that came with the fish were pretty good though. Service is a bit slow...there was a line of people waiting to place their orders while the staff wandered around the restaurant. I'm glad I had a long layover but probably wouldn't have stopped here if I was on a time crunch.

Even for airport alcohol $15 a drink is pricey, plus what kind of place doesn't even have a drink menu with pricing?

Mahi Mahi on my $20 fish salad was a little tough and overdone, but overall the spinach-based salad with pickled onions and more was quite enjoyable. Service was surprisingly good for an airport location. $12 craft beer was plenty steep, but par for this course.

Vile. Asked for soft scrambled eggs - for a travesty. Bacon horrible hash brown cooked in old grease. Look elsewhere.

Listen, airport restaurants are unreasonably overpriced, have little seating, and little thought for the food typically, but if you are in the Delta terminal at LAX, this is the best of the bunch. You can get a seat, through a combination of interior design concepts it manages to feel separate to the airport, and if you need your drink refreshed the servers are happy to help. And they've always been really friendly. I would recommend fish and chips and a glass of wine. Don't go somewhere else in this terminal. Come here. It's expensive, but so is absolutely everywhere else.

The mahi mahi salad was a much better (and more bang for your buck) option than the taco. The fish was rubber, but at least it was seasoned well. Very nice staff. The salad itself was great, nice dressing. Wouldn't recommend this establishment, but it's ok in a pinch.

I ate here before my flight at LAX. i ordered the Shrimp Bowl and price on menu was $21. When I got my bill, I was charged $42. When I asked about it the waitress told me it was "per shrimp". In addition, I was charged an 18% gratuity! I contacted customer service and got an email that the rep would get back to me. it's been 3 weeks and I haven't heard anything. This place is a rip-off...would never recommend it to Anyone.!!!

More like SlapTrash. Worst value possible, even by airport food standards. Some shrimp slapped between pieces of basic rolls. And a side of sauce. Shrimp was meh. Not even a shred of lettuce or slice of tomato to break the monotony. I think you'd have to affirmatively work to produce a fry so devoid of flavor. I've had better meals at Long John Silvers (which is gross of course) but at least I didn't pay 30 plus bucks for it with a mandatory 18% tip slipped on the bill for takeaway counter service. Next trip through LAX I'll get a sandwich at the airport kiosk.

Food (3/5): Food is OK and quite overpriced. Got the clobster sandwich and the lobster didn't taste the most fresh and the bread and toppings were average. To be fair, it's in an airport and usually airport options aren't the best. Venue (4/5): They've got a reasonably good amount of table and seating space that is private to the restaurant. Service (3/5): Service is good and the people were friendly but it's mostly a hand-off approach where you order in a line and then your food comes pick up style. Despite them not doing much and you mostly having to serve yourself, they charge an automatic 18% gratuity.

18% mandatory gratuity on TO-GO food? Really? It's ridiculous. It's one thing to charge that for table service which I wouldn't have a problem with but to go food is absurd.

The food was decent but the prices weren't. Well, a little higher than the typical restaurants. I wasn't overly impressed. I didn't like the obligatory 18% tip. They actually got less of a tip.

The food was very good. The price point, not so much, but it is an airport so what do you expect. Clam chowder: this was incredible. The potatoes were excellent and I liked how they were large pieces. The broth itself was creamy and rich and there were some little delectable morsels that were garlic or noodles? Not sure what they were but the umami was off the hook. However, it is tiny for being about $16. Listed as $12.50, so I expected a larger bowl of soup, then with tax and the included 18% tip it ended up being $16 for this little cup of soup and three saltines. Still... Up there as one of my favorite clam chowder's I've ever had. 5/5 Organic salad: I enjoyed this and I wanted some thing that was not just fried or rich food because I never eat any fruits or vegetables when I'm on vacation. The shrimp are over cooked as is the average of every restaurant in the world, but the flavors were good, the veggies were solid, the portion size was small for being about $25 however. 4/5 I also liked how they had comfy booths available for seating and they had a few well-placed outlets where you could plug in your devices while you were chomping away.

Don't order the fish plate it's super overpriced and tasteless! Place looks nice but that's about it.

The food was good. And for this, it really should deserve more than 2 stars. Organic salad with salmon was light and healthy, just what I want to eat before flying. I get that airport food, especially fresh/healthy is going to be expensive. This sans was $29.33. But they lose a bunch of stars (in this case 3) for what felt like intentionally deceptive price over charging. This item is listed as $23 on their menu. Yet rings up at 29.33 due to a required 18% gratuity that is added automatically... this isn't a sit down service place. This is an order at the counter thing. 18% for taking my order? That 18% was $4.14 (18% of $23)... so I guess the remaining 2.19 was tax? Although it isn't laid out on the receipt. If you want to gouge me, just tell me you're going to gouge me and add it to the menu price. Don't hide it in fake fees that just show up on my final bill.

I just had a order of clam chowder. Of course it was overpriced that's to be expected in an airport. The soup was actually quite tasty with visible clam meat and nice chunks of potato. The consistency was kind of thin. One thing I didn't like is that I ordered from a kiosk and it automatically comes togo- meaning served in a paper togo container vs a ceramic bowl. And they have no signage to inform customers if this. Overall the soup was good though

18% gratuity added to my take out bottle of water without telling me. They just hand you the receipt after. Really?! $11 for a small bottle of smart water! Glad I didn't order food. It's not like I had time to read the other reviews catching a flight but gee wiz people.

I ordered fish and chips with seasoned fries. There wasn't even salt on fries. Fish was raw. And to top it off tartar sauce had a hair. I told the waitress, and she didn't even apologize. She went and brought another tartar sauce. I told her, "Are you kidding me?" I'm not going to eat this. She walked away. I reported them to the health department

HORRIBLE place. They automatically charge you an 18% gratuity and there are no signs anywhere telling you of this before hand . Ordered the fish plate, a coconut water, and a regular tapwater. Ahi tuna was SO DRY/over cooked. Brown rice was clearly not freshly cooked the same day. Tasted like it was frozen and then reheated... Trying to flag down anyone for any sort of tableside service is nonexistent, and had to go up to the counter to ask for oil and vinegar, of which they of course didn't have anything but oil. And then had to smother it in tartar sauce, just to make it palatable. $35 for a CRAPPY meal and experience. NEVER again!

I love finding the right place at an airport, sometimes that's hard to do! The airport was packed, wall to wall people. We ducked into Slapfish since they had some empty seats and were greeted with great service and good food. It was the service that left us smiling, although the grilled cheese sandwich was excellent as well! The gals working were like a well oiled machine and you could tell they all got along great. They helped each other, talked nicely and smiled big with their eyes since they're forced to wear masks. I highly recommend Slapfish and hope you enjoy your experience as much as we did!

I looked at my receipt to see why the food I ordered just now was more than I expected and noticed the woman taking my order (short, black hair in a bun, fake lashes - server on receipt was Lopez K.) added an 18% tip to my to-go order without asking me. I'm blown. Keep an eye out for the sketchy stuff when ordering here. At least one employee likes stealing from customers.

This is a nice food joint nestled in Terminal 2 at LAX. I've eaten their lobster roll and was quite impressed. The flavor is great and it is finger licking good. The service is what you expect for a fast food joint...nothing that stands out as crazy bad, and nothing that is spectacularly great. I do expect food to be a bit more expensive in the airport, and I have paid $30 for the sandwich in the past, but since COVID, that same sandwich costs $50. For the same size, I'm not sure it's worth a $20 hike. I'll pass...even if the food is finger licking good.

Dont do it....sick to my stomach and I regret it. I finished maybe 10 percent of my dish. Charged for all of it and dont give a shit. Ambience is airport lol.

Long wait, okay food, decent seating options. The salad was okay, the mahi mahi was dry and tasteless.

Warning they add an 18% automatic gratuity! The food is not good. Chicken strips taste like they are the same chicken as burger king. Fries are also similar. Huge price for poor food. Small drinks.

Fast food seafood. It's across from the duty free. Ordered the organic salad with grilled salmon, bag of salt and vinegar chips and a small bottle of Fiji. Bill was $46.34. I wasn't sure what to expect as it looks like a fast food spot. It's not. The claw lobster cheese sandwich was pretty good. Warm, not super cheesy, but the bread was slightly crunchy too. The salmon salad was okay, dressing wasn't too bad. Salmon was so-so.

If you're in a hurry, this probably not the place for you. The staff was a bit aloof, the beers on tap were mediocre compared to other offerings in the terminal. My biggest complaint was the 20 minute wait for two tiny pieces of friend fish. The fries were good but everything, including the fried pickles tasted like old oil. The pickles also has a bad ration between pickle and breading, which has zero seasoning. Save some time and money and go to jersey Mikes.

They tack on mandatory 18% gratuity for ordering at the counter and then they don't provide an itemized receipt. No table service other than bringing food to table. Staff are getting tips for basically doing no service work other than food prep. Pay your employees for goodness sake! Food was fair. Probably won't eat there again. Update: they told me all the restaurants in the vicinity add the same 18% gratuity. I had a long layover so I ended up eating at the Asian restaurant across the hall and they did not add %18 to the bill.

Probably the worst meal at LAX airport that I've ever had. Waited 50 minutes for a tuna melt, it tasted awful, and the sauce they gave me was spoiled. Avoid this place at all cost.

Slapping service! 5 stars delicious breakfast and delicious bloody Mary's. Nice team and very sweet. The bar near the end of the terminal has horrible service but this location saved the experience at the lax terminal 3. Try this place next time you have to hang out and grab a yummy lunch or breakfast.

Super overcooked and flavorless salmon. Salad from the bag. Rice tastes like nothing. Please save natural resources, time and money. Just don't come to this place. Anything from Starbucks would be cheaper and better. Horrible! The server that handed me the food was nice. Thanks

One of several poor choices to grab a quick bite b4 a red eye takeoff coast to coast - at a time when even first class does not get a real meal anymore. Anyhow, the business card to the USA (the first or last thing people might see) is a lousy health grade B !!!! And the food is acting accordingly. Okay, the lobster roll was reasonable in taste and texture, but the tuna was sooo solid that it would not have passed the TSA but screened out as possible threat!

So I've been wanting to try Slapfish ever since I was in Park City and didn't have enough time to make it. I was really excited to see this location waiting for my flight. I love Hot Lobster rolls but I wasn't super impressed. I'm not a huge fan of Mayo so I ordered without and asked for more butter. The lobster wasn't super warm and as excited as I was to try this the lobster was also missing the drawn butter. If I'm going to pay $24 in the airport for food a hot lobster sandwich I was expecting more of a WOW instead of an okay I'm going to eat this because I'm starving feeling. The fries we're great though. I didn't have time to go back unfortunately

Woman there was running the show by herself. She was quick to greet us and took our orders right away. The burger was juicy and my partner enjoyed his salmon and chips with salsa! We were lucky to get the booth and it wasn't too busy.

I had slapfish when I was in huntingdon beach last night and got the same food. Much better experienced even being delivered. To get it door dashed was cheaper, not only did they raise the price of food by nearly 50%, they also added in an automatic 18% gratuity which I have no issue with if you are giving me full service but it was a to go order. In addition, they said they could not remove it which is illegal. In addition the fries the night before from the other slapfish location was delicious and very flavorful. These are incredibly floppy and not seasoned. At all. The grill cheese which cost over $30 and has a chunk of burnt cheese. Even though this was a work trip that I did not pay for $5 per person to take an order is ridiculous. Also they added suggested tip at the bottom in addition.
