0/10!! March 14 was my first experience here. The location is on MLK. I arrived at 6:30pm and there were children taking my order initially. I ordered the 10 for $20 tacos (2 orders) in which I ordered 10 chicken birria tacos and 10 steak birria tacos. The young lady accepted my payment on cashapp and the young man was cooking. By 7:30, the owner and her husband arrived and started to take over. Apparently, the eldest daughter was taking orders wrong so I didn’t receive my food until 8:20pm. Almost 2 hours. Mind you, the children told everyone it was going to be a 10-15 minute wait LOL. I requested a refund on cashapp since that’s where I paid, but the husband stated that the wife (owner) was a fast cook and that there were 3 PEOPLE ahead of me even after I had been waiting for almost 2 hours SMH. Please don’t get me started on how unappealing the food looked. PLEASE LOOK AT THE ATTACHED PHOTOS. Whatever the owner cooked me is NOT what was presented on their Instagram page! The kids running the shop didn’t do so good but they’re kids so I’ll save what I would’ve said. My food was so skimped. No meat in the tortilla for almost half of them. I don’t care if you got to the party late and all the orders are mixed up so now you feel as though you gotta rush through people stuff; it is unprofessional to say the least. Also, they ran out of steak so I had to settle for roast beef even though I was there when steak was available. My cashapp is $LSB22 so you can put a face to this review. The birria broth is watered down so severely that it looks like a swamp . Don’t waste your time or money here. Get it all the way together.

Got the chicken birria tacos, grilled salmon plate, and lamb chop plate. Had pretty much every side on the menu. EVERYTHING was bomb, so so good. Everything. I don't care where she's located, it's always worth it. The place was super clean, cool (temp), and had a good amount of seating. Sweet and welcoming smiles inside too :)

4 Birria tacos for $20 was very steep for the quality of the tacos.

Tacos are definitely slapping. I had the chicken, steak, shrimp, and beef and enjoyed them all. Check them out. You won't be disappointed.

This place will receive a 5 star rating for the service food and the price. I saw this place on Good Morning America. They were featured on the series of Best Tacos in United States. Slapping Tacos ATL made it to the finals and in my heart they should have won. They are currently located in a small Local bar (ATL 2 sports bar). We visited on the Saturday after they appeared on GMA and I'm glad I had the opportunity to experience Ms. Chasity's birria tacos before she really blows up! She will definitely need to expand once people find her. There is nothing fancy about the location, but I will say it was some of the best, id not the best Birria Tacos I ever had and I have traveled a lot and lived places where Latin/Hispanic food dominated the city. There was a special which was 10 tacos for $25. We were able to try the shrimp, ground beef, chicken and roast beef. They were out of the steak when we arrived as well as there was no birria noodles/ramen. Early bird gets the worm so next time we come, we we will arrive earlier in the day. Due to the fact that this is located inside a local bar, we were also able to order drinks from the bar. All wait staff and servers were attentive and extremely polite and courteous. The owner was onsite and was friendly and welcoming. She posed for a picture with me on our way out. If you are looking for a great birria taco with a no thrills location, this is your spot!

Finally made it to this lil hood spot.....heavy emphasis on the HOOD!!! It's literally inside of a small convenience store. If you're claustrophobic, just skip it altogether! Don't be alarmed by the gambling machines in the back next to the food, on the day I went there was an a$$ in every seat, and one of them had a beer having the time of her life!! Ok, so I'm to the food, I got the chicken Birria tacos, as they were out of the real Birria! The price was ok, 5 for $25! I've had much better. The consommé was watery and had no flavor at all. Everyone is entitled to have a bad day, guess this day was there's‍ I'd try them again, but would only get Birria if they have the actual Birria meat!

My homie told me about a taco spot inside of a convenient store on Metropolitan and I kind of downplayed it at first, but I was in the area and I had time so I figured I'd try them out. I'm glad I did too because listen... lol This isn't a spot you sit down and eat at. It's strictly order and go. Luckily I came at a time when they were slow because lunch time is typically their busiest time. After looking over the menu a few times I finally was able to figure out what I wanted. I had the Nacho Supreme ($12). These are nachos made with Doritos, your choice of meat between: shrimp, roast beef, ground beef, steak and chicken. You also get jalapeños, queso cheese as well shredded cheese, lettuce and pico de gallo. I went with steak since shrimp was unavailable It took less than 10 mins literally to make the nachos and they came out hot too. Once I was able to sit down and eat, I promise you I couldn't stop. The portion is more than enough. The steak is so damn good. I literally have no complaints about these nachos. I enjoyed having the queso cheese in the nachos while the shredded was on top. There was a right amount of everything. Nothing over powered anything. The steak again was so good, seasoned and cooked to perfection. I really enjoyed these nachos and I promise you I'll be back and I'm telling everyone about this spot.

Food and Service were great. I recently had the pleasure of trying birria tacos, and I can confidently say that it was a culinary experience like no other. Birria is a traditional Mexican dish known for its rich, flavorful, and soul-warming qualities, and the birria tacos I savored lived up to every bit of that reputation. Slapping Taco's is definitely on its way to the top. et the owner. She was great. They just moved to their new location so you better get in there before they blow up!!!

The wrong address on Yelp but it's 1.5 miles away behind a gas station. The outside was dirty and the inside wasn't inviting but I was starving and heard good times. I thought it was gonna be a special because it's Taco Tuesday but there was no specials. 3 shrimp tacos was $15. I thought they'd at least be big(king size shells) shrimp tacos but they were regular size tacos. It was filled with cheese and 3 shrimps in each taco and cilantro. One salsa and birria dipping sauce, the tacos were tasty but not filling . I was gonna order a side of rice and beans but they were $12 for a side of both which is wild. I wouldn't go back but they were seasoned well. I think if it was a cleaner location and prices were more reasonable this place could be great.

Just went but and was told she's not here anymore. Someone said she's at 1917 MLK so we're heading over there to check.

Birria tacos to write about!!! Something about going into a bodega style corner store with authentic birria tacos in Back reminds me of New York! The food was awesome and the owner made me feel like i was one of the regulars! This is must try spot With amazing prices for great food! Don't walk run to get you taco fix!

Found them in Uber eats. Decided to try birria for the first time. These are really solid tocos made well. It's kind of expensive, but I really want to try them. Crispy and flavorful. I'd make this my taco spot when I'm in the mood for tacos, but the price makes me want to only buy it once a month.

My Shrimp Birria OMG I came all the way from Cali and found this spot. Honestly it was better than the ones in the Bay! Customer Service was awesome! Don't pull off it really is in the back of the Convenience Store. They have Chicken, Beef & Steak do yourself a favor go get some! Order ahead for Pick-Up it will save a little time

The food here is AMAZING!!! My boyfriend found this place because we were searching for food on DoorDash. We decided to give it a try because it looked so good! The pictures honestly don't give the food justice. It's a cute little hole in the wall inside of a convenient store. According to other reviews many people weren't too fond of the location, but my boyfriend and I are from Atlanta and familiar with the area so we weren't bothered at all. The owner Donell and his wife Chasity (I think that was her name lol) were so nice, and were patient with us when we were deciding what to get. We decided to get the loaded nachos, and two orders of the birria tacos. Donell took our order and was nice enough to bring it to the car when it was ready. The order was ready so quick!! The only thing that was disappointing was there were a few other menu items we really wanted to try but they were unavailable. Overall, we had a phenomenal experience! We will definitely be back! As stated previously, we were considering ordering from Door Dash but realized it was fairly close to our home. Door Dash charges $18 for the 4 birria tacos but in store they are $15 and you can mix and match the meats. There are 5 meats to choose from. We got the shrimp, steak, ground beef, and chicken. Consumme was outstanding, tacos were crisp, and nachos were great. Not to mention, it is AUTHENTIC!! Chasity is from Puerto Rico, and you can tell from the food! Everything was made to order. Please support them, there's no doubt in my mind that with more business they will expand and move to a more upscale location.

Customer service was good. My first time trying birria tacos and the owners husband told me how to eat em. He let me choose a variety of meats and this day they had turkey and he brought them out to my car since there's really nowhere to wait inside. They were fresh and cooked to order. Will definitely go back.

It is definitely the loaded nachos for me. I'm more like a taco person but when I saw these loaded nachos and they would hit the spot. I love the vibe in here they are very friendly and they work really fast. They bring your food right out to the car and the way it is not on. If you are in the neighborhood or you want to grab lunch I will definitely work on the spot. I will be back

Let me tell you, this is a must try spot! This place has been popping up on my Instagram for the past month. And today was the day. These 3 tacos were the perfect combination of taste and size. As most stated, it's in the back of of a corner store and no issues with placing or receiving orders. In the future, I may place order in advance (online) before arriving and just do a pick up. Overall, excellent food and highly recommend.

Thank you for improving the dipping sauce sis ! It's so so flavorful and have tasty seasoning I love love love love it . As always the tacos be bussing and cussing. Everything is cooked to order !!!! They will bring it out to your car

I had high hopes for this place. The customer service is great (that's why I give it two stars.) The food, not so much. The beef flavor in the Barilla tacos is what saved them. Although they could have used some cheese. The consommé was very bland as were the noodles (which were undercooked.) It was really a disappointment given $44 I spent for 6 tacos and 2 cups of noodles. The Yelp page for this place says the crew wears masks, masks required, and temperature checks are performed. All of these were not true. I was the only customer out of 5 + 2 workers wearing a mask.

This is MY honest rating/opinion about this taco spot. The food is good! I got the birria tacos. They was good. No complaints. My Buddy was with me and got the same think with chicken (I had steak). I asked did it come with rice or beans, which it didn't. So I ordered a side of rice which was $3.00 to see it was only, literally a SCOOP. My 3year old would've ate it in 6 scoops. Our food came up to $38 no rice. No beans. It's in the hood. In the back of the store. I'm from the hood so I already knew what to expect. I wasn't looking for good customer service -they wasn't rude but wasn't overly nice either- Just good food. Good food!!!!! Prices high!!!!! Small portions!!! Not so memorable customer service.

So I recently ordered some Shrimp and chicken Birria tacos off of Uber eats and I got the tacos but no sauce to dip them in. The tacos weren't bad at all I was just pretty bummed out that I didn't get the sauce. I could've gotten regular tacos from anywhere else for a lot cheaper.

This is one of the best Tacos spots in Atlanta. The food is delicious, customer service is great and I eat there often. I will be continuing to visit Slappin Tacos, their Birria Tacos are everythinggggggg

Hidden Gem in Atlanta! Really good! My boyfriend and I will be back on another Taco Tuesday! We ordered the beef burrito and spilt it because that's how much they give you! It's such a heathy size for the price. We also ordered some birria tacos, it was our first time trying them and we were impressed!

I saw this restaurant on Door Dash and decided to give them a try. This was my first time having birria tacos and they were good (had the beef). I also ordered the Mexican street corn. I was expecting corn on the cob but it came in a cup, still good though! I would order again.

Great business. Amazing specialty cupcakes. The churo cupcake were great. I have to go back and try more items, so far everything i had is incredible. It's not close to my home so I only go when I'm in the area. (or schedule my day to be in the area). Give them try

Terrible customer service & experience ! I went to try these tacos and I won't be back. When I arrived, I thought it would be a taco truck or small business but no it was outside by a liquor store. I bypassed the issues with the area because over all I wanted to show support. the way the lady "greeted" me was really rude. I placed my order and was asked to wait in my vehicle for my order. I noticed that 2 people that ordered after me had received their order and left. I went to check on my order and the husband was really rude when I inquired about it. I ordered birria tacos but I received regular tacos. My shells for my tacos were cold, meat slightly warm, and cheese nowhere near melted. I questioned my order and was told to come back tomorrow. Worst customer service ! Hopefully the owners are able to seek proper customer service training

The food is excellent! I really enjoyed the birria tacos. The tacos were flavorful and the meat was tender. However, I did find them a bit pricy. Despite the price, it's definitely worth giving it a try.

The birria chicken tacos and beef are the actual bomb its addictive I'm trying my best not to eat it every day but it's so good . The dipping sauce is too die for just add the hot sauce that comes with it and lime

I usually dont give reviews but I stumbled on this spot IM from the Midwest and I love love tacos this place is not clean the food is notr good poor customer service .I want to say more but if you go you will see for your self.Andits a shame because the pics of the food look great but its a no for me.OH I HATE WHEN PEOPLE SAY THEY HAVE I. GLOVES BUT YoU HAVE NOT CHANGED THEM AT ALL AT ALL .

This is my first time ever writing a review and my second time eating at slapping taco. the first time I waited almost 3 hours for 2 orders of tacos. The second time (today) I waited almost two hours for 2 orders. you would think they would have done something to fix the wait time by now. it's only bout three things on the menu they should prepare tacos ahead of time knowing it's Tuesday and they will be busy all day. When I went to check on my order the girl lied and said my order was on the grill. Then she handed out orders to four more cars and I ended up waiting 45 minutes after that. I'll never come here again! so unprofessional. They really need to do better and be more organize.

Very annoyed...I called before I drove all the way to the location to be sure they were open. Of course, no one answered the phone, but there was a voicemail that declared that they were in fact open! Lo and behold, I make the trek, only to arrive and be greeted by a blocked off parking lot because THEY WERE CLOSED!!! How disappointing! Really discourages me from supporting in the future.

So I rode around for about 10 mins before realizing that this restaurant was inside of a convenience store. And not just any convenience store, a sketchy, small one and that was not clean. However, the food was really good. Despite my second thoughts I ordered the food anyway. They were on a limited menu and didn't have a lot as advertised. I ordered 4 birria tacos with consume and went to sit in the car til my order was ready. Took about 15 mins but it was good. I gave it a 3 because no where does this place say that they are in the back of a mom and pop convenience store

Ordered thru DoorDash. Tacos were greasy and not welled seasoned. Noodles were dry. Didn't have any consommé in it at all. The only good thing about my order was the churro cupcake I ordered, which wasn't prepared by slapping tacos Atlanta. Would not recommend to anyone.

Showed up 5 minutes before closing and got an order of the beef birria tacos and they were incredible. They brought the food out to my car and were very fast. Super nice people that run this place too !

Customer service skills suck. Did a call in order but when I arrived, I was told they're sold out.

The noodles were overly salty and the tacos weren't very flavorful at all, especially if you're expecting birria. The cook/owner(I think) guy was incredibly rude. I asked if the esquites was on the menu for the day. He didn't know what it was and so I pointed to the Mexican corn on the menu sheet. He stressed that he had 7 orders, that he was on the grill, the corn wasn't ready, that his daughter didn't know how to make the corn and that I'd have to wait. I asked how long would the wait be...despite the previous rant...and the previous rant was reiterated. There was a lady behind me who was saying to him to calm down and it's not that big of a deal. I took my food and left out. I checked my order when I got to the car and was missing the consommé. Went back inside and had to actually debate with the daughter about the container not being in the to go tray. Anyways. If you do decide to patronize this spot, I hope you have a very different experience. I won't be going back.
