Had a blast for a friend’s b-day. Drinks were strong as hell 😂 I had to dilute it with juice twice(2x). Will definitely be back in the near future 🥂

Slate NYC – A Whole Vibe from Start to Finish Pulled up to Slate NYC for a birthday and had a time! From the jump, security was cool, cracked jokes—set the tone for the night. Downstairs was spacious and vibey (FYI: AT&T users, signal might dip but there’s WiFi). Shoutout to Krissi, our waitress—super sweet, just be patient, she’ll take care of you. The food? Fire. Tacos, garlic parm wings, fries—everything hit. No videos because we were too busy eating. Our suite had games—darts, Jenga, Connect Four, plus pool tables, foosball, arcade games, giant UNO and more. It’s a fun spot, not just a “stand around and look cute” kind of place. When the DJ hit, it was up. She even took requests and had the whole room singing. Once it hit 2am, they moved the party upstairs—and that’s when the club started clubbing. Bottle service, energy, music—10/10. If you’re looking for a spot with good vibes, great food, games, and music that’ll have you lit all night—Slate is it. I’m definitely coming back.

The staff was rude, unprofessional, and trashy from the bouncers to the waitresses. Came here with my bf and a friend, paid $20 each to get in (which was fine) but then was told to spend $100 in drinks just to play 1 game by waitresses. We could understand paying a reasonable amount but $100 seemed like a scam so we asked other guests and were told that the waitresses did not tell them to spend any specific amount. Whenever we asked for drinks or asked to play games the waitresses were very rude and wouldn’t want to help us. And the music and food were terrible, the drinks were okay but the service was slow. The staff acts like they don’t want to work there yet it’s their job and the place was not that busy. They must have different management b/c in 2022 & 2023 we came here and the service and staff were great, professional, and fast and you could play games without spending a certain amount, and the DJs used to be great. And this was when Slate used to be even more packed with people. Unfortunately, this place has gone downhill. After our distasteful experience at Slate NYC, we went to Moxie Hour rooftop lounge and had a truly amazing time with great service and professionalism. We’ve had better experiences at bars than this place. Don’t waste your time here.

Was at Slate for the UMiami vs Indy college football game. Screen turned off many times, no sound many times and fire alarm ringing starting at 3rd quarter lasting for a long time. If everyone wasn't focused on UM, people would be furious. What is going on Slate? Can't handle the heat? A mess......

I planned a surprise birthday celebration for my boyfriend and his friends here last weekend. EVERYTHING- collecting info about reservations, making the reservation, Slate's responsiveness whenever I had questions or needed to modify my reservation (Joe Cusmano is wonderful), arriving, the service and food, the atmosphere and music, the availability of games and space to dance, the seating, the cost per person... even the amount of time we had our spot for- it was all amazing. I felt taken care of from the moment I made my first call to Slate until we paid and left. All the information was given to me upfront and there were no surprises. We all had such a great time. They are super professional and kind, and the place itself is very lively and fun. Also love some of the photos taken of us! Very thankful to Slate for making this process smooth and our birthday celebration special. Highly recommend!

Came with my bestie for birthday, we thought the nightclub was open but got disappointed when it said it wasn’t. The atmosphere was very boring and our first server didn’t seem interested in anything. So we decided to go sit at the bar. BEST DECISION EVER!! Moriah was behind the bar and was an amazing server and bartender!☺️ Turned our experience better since she was honest and amazing. I’d come back here if she’s working and the nightclub was working but my bestie and I agreed that her service and hospitality was the best part of coming here 😁😁 The games were cool!

Any other fellow native New Yorkers used to hang out at Slate back in the day? Well now you can again! I stopped by Slate to check out their new game / Sports Simulators! These simulators have about 30 games, including baseball, hockey, soccer, football, and dodgeball. I had a blast playing virtual soccer, it was kinda hard to get goals especially with a few glasses of wine in. It felt so real, like I was actually on the field! On top of the awesome gaming, the food was on point. I liked the spicy tuna bites, sliders, and their guacamole are definitely a must try. Slate has turned into the perfect hang with a group of friends when you don't want to do the same ole thing of just going out and having a few drinks.

I visited Slate on a Wednesday evening around 6 PM as part of a work conference outing. When I arrived, the greeter wasn't particularly welcoming, though not rude, just a bit neutral. On the bright side, the event space was on the lower floor, and they had a fun slide to get down there, which my colleague loved! They provided a nice spread with burgers, chicken tenders, chicken skewers, and delicious macaroni cups, which were definitely the highlight for me. Drinks were about $12 each, and there were plenty of games like Jenga, Dominoes, Connect Four, plus unlimited access to Pac-Man and basketball games, which I absolutely loved! The only downside was that the bathroom could have been cleaner. Overall, though, I had a great time and would definitely consider visiting again.

A friend recommended this place, so I finally checked it out on Saturday -- and I'm glad I did! Got there a little early to catch some of the games, which was a great call. The vibe was chill at first, perfect for easing into the night. We had a few drinks (all solid), plus some apps to keep us going -- nothing fancy, but definitely hit the spot. This place is a great pick whether you're on a date or just out for a low-key night with friends. Things really started to heat up after midnight. The dance floor got busy, and by 1 AM, it was *packed*. The energy was high, the music was on point, and the crowd was having a blast. Overall, had a great time and would 100% go back. Come for the chill vibes, stay for the party.

I came here on a Monday night to hang out with my girlfriends and had such a fun time! I didn't eat anything, we just stuck to playing games, and we didn't stop until they shut the music off and politely asked us to leave lol. When you first enter, you can either take the stairs down to the fun or you can slide there. We opted for the slide to satisfy our inner children. When you get down there, there are couches, bar stools, and a few different pockets for game play. There was bowling in one corner, arcade games in another, and in between there are lots of table games like giant uno and jenga. The arcade games and bowling did cost money. I believe there's a minimum of $5 you have to spend. It was fun time! The music was cool, not too loud either. The bouncer at the front was helpful and nice. I would definitely come back!

I came here for an unofficial Bravo watch party, for Below Deck. It was pretty cool. The vibe of the venue is fun. Of course, I went down the slide at least once. The food was good and drinks were great. The staff was attentive. We had a dedicated space and watch am episode of the show, took pics with some of the Bravolebs, and had a little Q&A sesh. It was super fun. Afterwards, I stayed back and played some games. It was a great night. I would definitely be back. Note: Definitely watch the parking signs, as they are confusing, and your car will get towed!

Typical college bar, young crowd, good music, large space. Games available - arcade, jenga, connect 4, UNO. Bar food, large portions, good prices. Nachos & wings were good, fry sampler is huge. Empanadas were soaked in oil. Terrible drinks, waitstaff is clueless. Specialty cocktails were super sweet, more ice than drink. No cakes allowed, $75 to purchase a cake from them, $50 for bday sign.

Now that I know I'm Yelp Elite, updating my review with a pic of their best, my fave, dish! The Korean cauliflower is so bomb dot com. One of the hostesses was terrible - I've always had no issues with the staff & experience here. She was a first. I appreciate how the other staff treated me afterwards. Keep the cauliflower on the menu! :) Go, enjoy - the slide is back in use!

I have only been to Slate for private events on the main floor, but it is always a good time. There is a bar and a large open dance floor with couches that are spaced throughout. We paid a ticket price at the door which allowed access to the event. We ordered appetizers and mixed drinks through our server but could also be ordered at the bar. The crispy chicken and biscuits were absolutely delicious. I questioned if I was just extremely hungry but quickly decided that it was indeed the food. It had a sweet tasting coleslaw topping that I oddly embraced since I am usually not a fan of coleslaw. The pickles and honey butter were a perfect add on. We also ordered the beef short rib birria tacos -served with much needed consommé. The house-made tortillas complimented the short ribs well. I look forward to returning to experience what the downstairs environment has to offer.

Are the drinks great? No. Is the food great? Also no. Is it a lot of fun with really nice staff, absolutely. The slide at the entrance to go downstairs is so unique and very fun. Reminded me of when I was a kid and I wanted a spiral slide in my house instead of stairs. Such a fun and creative place.

Okay, hear me out... This is a nightlife spot gearing more towards 21-25 year olds. For sure. But you know what? Regardless of your age, sometimes you just wanna have fun and let loose... So we decided to check out Slate around 1AM on a weekend. There are a lot of negative reviews here regarding the security and dress codes. Thankfully, we didn't have any problems. There wasn't a long line. I showed them my ID and they did a quick bag check. Just for reference, I was wearing flare pants, a tank top, and Nike Air Force sneakers. Not necessarily "club attire", but they didn't have a problem with it. They were respectful and prompt. However, it's kinda ridiculous that they have a $20 cover charge. Slate has two levels with a slide connecting the two floors. There's a full bar serving food and cocktails, arcade-style games, a bowling alley, pool tables, lounge seating, a dance floor, and a stage. We only came for music and dancing, so we passed on the games. We ordered two margaritas at $18 each and they were good as hell. Cheers to a heavy handed bartender. The DJ held it down! He played a mix of dancehall, afro beats, hip-hop, pop, etc. A variety of popular music today and some throwbacks from the 90's and early 2000's. The crowd was loving it and so was I. The energy was great! It was a bit crowded on the dance floor, but not to the point where I couldn't comfortably dance. Overall, this is a fun spot for a girls night out or a date. They have bottle service and can host private events as well. Good vibes, good music, good entertainment, good drinks.

Cute spot I like the concept. There's a little bit for everyone. It happened to be there a night the Knick's were playing so the game was blasting. Afterwards it was music. Music is louddddd I could barely hear anyone trying to tell me anything. There's space if people want to dance. The slide is a cute touch in my opinion. I like that coat check was electronic and free. Safety wise I felt safe. Bouncers and securities were paying attention and attentive. I didn't try the food so I can't comment on that. I tried their version of a Piña colada I unfortunately forgot the name of it. It was good. It wasn't strong I had 2.

A fun place to go to just hang out or celebrate an bday! I went in just for a few drinks and noticed they have games set up at every table which was fun. They also have two ways to go down, a slide or the stairs lol. It's fun watching people go down the slide as well! Food wise, it's pretty much all American bar food which is good but you wouldn't go here just for the food!

Such a fun time and so much to do here! Upstairs is a huge dance floor and downstairs have all the games. A great spot to for a group of friends. Drinks were good and strong. Music depends on what night you go, when I went there, it was more hip hop.

i wish i could give ZERO stars thanks to Moriah. Before going checked out review but still wanted to give a it a fair chance. 100+ reviews highlight the same issue racist and highly unprofessional bouncers. This is by far the most disrespectful and poorly managed security staff I've encountered at any club. If you're a person of color, be aware: these bouncers make their own biased rules and treat you unfairly. Save your money and spend your night at a better club where you're treated with respect.FOOD & drinks mid.... they advertise a $30 suvionar cup. when i asked for that moriah left and said " we havnt had thast sh**T for 3 months so why is it on menu . she made me feel stupid

I really enjoyed this place. My friend and I went in randomly when it turned out our first intended cocktail locale of the day didn't open until 10pm. It was a Wednesday. We got there a little after 5pm and it was virtually empty (I loved that). It's a cute little fun land for adults. There's a slide you can take on your way down to the bar/game area. They have giant connect four, pool, foosball, and giant jenga at your disposal. Keep in mind of course that we had our pick of any spot because there was barely anyone there. The drinks were fairly priced for the area (happy hour) and were mixed well. I would definitely go back!

Since my last review, I've gone here two more times! The first time was for fourth of july 2023. The downstairs was closed, but the dance floor was packed and high energy. Awesome DJs, charmy, los anngles (?) and DreamDriver. They gave out foam lightsticks and played a nice mix of kpop, 2010s and top hits! Secondly was this past weekend. A group of five booked the early bird special that included a free drink voucher. I appreciate a thorough security screening because I want to know i'm safe. We started the night downstairs (slide is fast but scary). There are so many fun games. my group enjoyed well loved jenga and giant uno. If was supposed to be country night, but it wasn't (thankfully). Fun mix of throwbacks, trendy music and Spanish songs. I am so sorry I don't know the correct term for them but we loved every the dj played. Then the lights came on and we moved upstairs. i think it was a different dj- same great songs. Really fun time when you go with people who make it fun

I'm not too sure how I feel about this place. The first drink was spilled, but I had to pay for it. I'm not the one who spilled it. The $14 fries, tots, and waffle fries were a nice touch. Do not get that one drink called chilling with my hombres it tastes like a campfire. It's definitely not worth the spilled $14 drink. The vibes I was getting from this spot were pretty chill. Something was going on downstairs, but I was too underdressed to want to check it out. The bouncers weren't d-bags, so that was a plus. Definitely get that waterman Margherita it's really worth the money. ::Bathroom Alert:: Short people like me felt comfortable in the bathroom. I'm not sure how others would feel. The bathroom was clean. There are lots of paper towels and soap. I probably will not come back here because that spilled drink should have been free. Gosh, was it gross. I also came in sneakers and regular jeans on a Tuesday before 10pm if that helps.

I am not exactly sure why some of these reviews are so low. I came here with a group of friends on a Sunday night and we loved it. We probably enjoyed it more because it was not as crowded as others were mentioning. As soon as you enter, you have to go down a flight of stairs. I recommend instead to go down the slide! Once downstairs, we were treated to a very large space with a bar and countless games. There are many sofas and tables to chill at too. This place easily has one of the best game selections I've ever seen: a basketball game, skeeball tables, multiple ping pong tables, pool tables, arcade machines, and even a mini bowling alley. They also have Connect 4 and Jenga upon request from the staff. The hours here flew by with so much fun at our fingertips. The games are all reasonably priced too with some of the machines only being $2.00 a game. I would not come specifically just for drinks though. Though they are average priced, they are kind of small. This is more of a place to come with a group of friends or a date and enjoy lots of games.

Note, we had free fast track entry which really elevated the experience. Arrived at the fast track line at around 12:30am and got in instantly. I was really pleasantly surprised to learn that there was FREE coat check(!!! and it was super efficient!) since I've always had to pay for it. The inside is pretty spaceous but of course with all the people inside it is still pretty crowded (not as bad as some other places we've been to though). Music was to our liking when we went, pretty loud in normal nyc club fashion. We thought that the performers were a nice touch and made the experience worth it as well. There's a slide and stairs that lead to a basement floor but they told us it was they weren't letting any more people downstairs.

Sigh. There's a $20 cover charge for everyone that enters. That's not necessarily a deterrent, but beware, - you aren't getting $20 worth of service. Coat check was pretty smooth sailing. You drop your stuff, enter your number which gives you a digital ticket. It limits loosing your ticket and litter. Staff there were nice and efficient, and the only reason why I'm giving this place 2 stars They've got a slide that takes you to the lower level, which is novel. On this particular evening, the upper level had not opened. Staff told us it would open in 15 minutes and ushered us to the lower level. Perhaps I'm getting old but music on this particular evening was extremely loud, and it was difficult to hear my friends speak. We waited the allotted 15 minutes and went back upstairs, but a different staff member yelled at us and told us to go back downstairs and "don't make me repeat myself." Noted. We left shortly after. Drinks were passable. Also thought I'd drop this on behalf of my friend who stayed much later than I did, and was not allowed to come back in because she was associated with "a rowdy group of friends." She finally was allowed in, but when it was time to leave, someone yelled at her for rightfully standing in the coat check line. Needless to say, I and my friends will never set foot in this establishment again .

Came here with my husband on a Friday night.. they had different type of games you can play. We played jinga, and connect 4 drinks were about 20$ each. In NYC that's average. We were here for about 3 hours. I had a great time... music was awesome they played a mix of everything within my 3 hours. Will be returning soon

They have so many games to play from pool to bowling to basketball. The music was great too as well as the drinks. If you're coming for good music and a good Dj then you'll have a good time. The lighting, the crowd was also great!. I also liked how they have other things you can do. For example, theres a Slide that takes you down from 2nd to 1st floor which was pretty cool. They also have an area where you can play board games with people. However, the security was bad. People were getting harassed here and there and no one did a thing. The prices for the drinks were way overpriced. Some of the staff were super rude and the drinks are to not waste money on. I asked for redbull and Henny and they literally charge u for the whole can of redbull just to put a splash of it in your drink and then keep the rest? I'm not sure why that makes sense. Definitely felt ripped off at the Bar.

SLATE. Really did it up for NYE 2023. Highly suggest making reservations for a table with bottle service. It's the only way to go. We got a private section right by the dance floor, three full bottles of alcohol, two full bottles of champagne, open bar, open buffet with girls bringing us appetizers, and unlimited water/oj/lemonade. Honestly for mass produced food the variety was great and the quality/flavor of it was surprisingly really tasty. All of the staff were helpful and welcoming and knew how to throw a f**king party. I preferred downstairs compared to upstairs solely for the vibe. The game room is SICK. The bartenders were QUICK and knew how to make a drink. Loved the security at the bathrooms helping keep things safe and organized. 10/10 experience.

Went here on a Friday night It was soo much fun - the performers were great. There is so much to do and I loved the slide. Drinks were normal nyc club prices It was pretty loud but it's also a club so that's expected. Bring some earplugs

It is not a place that I would come to if I wanted to go out for nighttime fun, but I would definitely use it to host conventional events. ------------------------------------- In More Details: ------------------------------------- I hope you get the general basis of what I'm trying to relay. At first glance, the place looks admirable. Still, once you go in it and experience the complete ambiance, you soon realize it's as good as an overpriced Dave & Busters with fewer games and less maintenance (In terms of just barely keeping the few things they have "functioning"; as I use that word heavily). The dancefloor was small, and the drinks were mediocre at best. This is why this place is only practically good for running conventional events (e.g., Meet-Ups, Guess Speakers Conventions, etc.). I would not come here if I was trying to have an overtly good time (more like a pre-session before actually going out). This is a conflicting scenario, as the place's setting would have you believe that this is where you'll get the "climax of your night." Only to be stuck in a mirage, paying a cover fee to get in, drinking mid-drinks at best, and enjoying mid-quality tunes. The place is not worth your money, and I promise you that you'll find better places around it to give you a better buck for the money you put in. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pro: ----------- The only time that this place fits the shoes that they established for themselves is during America's Holidays. I came here with my friend for his bday for some July 3rd event and I'm ngl I shoulda just kept some AirPods on and blasted lil baby or something cuz gooooollly this was a rough night Like it started ok at first but then in 20 seconds 3 different dudes pulled up doing violin accordion and beatboxing and awhile later the packed venue emptied out quick. So we were only coming to this bar for the slide and unfortunately it was closed... HOWEVER, this place did not disappoint! We did not know this place was like an arcade/club! We had a blast!! We went downstairs and they were playing throwback hip hop jams. They had bowling, basketball, Pac-Man, jenga, connect 4, etc. After a couple of games we went back up stairs and it was a rager lol the lasers and music were so lit! Definitely RECOMMEND!!

The worst and would never come back. We came early after work, the whole dining room was empty, bar empyty. There were 2 small events going on. We sat down and the servers walked by us 3 times and didn't even say anything. went to the bar to see if we could order and they said yes because there servers were too busy for us. Tried to order drinks but when we did the said only the first 3 out of 9 cocktails were available. The watermelon margarita was made with watermelon Red Bull gross. Food came out with no plates, silver of napkin. They came later. Got charged an extra $2 for a sauce we didn't get. Drinks were so bad went to order beers at the empty bar and they messed up the order. No love, no care. I went home and ate a frozen pizza that made me happier. Disaste.

This is a fun arcade bar that is unfortunately ruined by nickle and diming (more like racking up an expensive night of $2-5 games, multiplied by the number of people that want to play). They have a wide variety of games from pong, basketball, skeeball, bowling, ping pong, connect four, to name a few. They also have a bar that lacks a drink menu, which is weird as all the bars I've been always have some sort of menu no matter how basic, so my friend just got rum with coke and that's already $16, no prices shown, highway robbery. There's also barely any alcohol in it that would encourage you to buy more drinks. It would've been a great place to socialize and hangout, but the experience is limited with how expensive it can get really quickly.

I would give 0 stars but it's not an option. Absolutely horrifying experience. My friends and I were targeted and harassed by a group of individuals inside the club. They made explicit threats toward us, even threatening a knife at one point. We were terrified and immediately reported the situation to the general manager. Shockingly, we were met with a dismissive response--"we didn't see anything"--despite how serious the incident was. The lack of security intervention and the management's indifference to our safety were appalling. I do not feel safe recommending this venue to anyone, especially those from vulnerable communities. Stay far away from this place.

Went for Drag brunch with a group of friends and we had such a blast! Definitely take advantage of the $45 unlimited drinks option! Food was actually very good! We ordered a bit of everything on the menu and it was all delish! Service was amazing lots of staff waiting on all the tables. Anthony the bartender was so wonderful!We had a VIP section and he came over to us multiple times taking our drink orders. The performance was fun and funny! The performers were all equally amazing! Definitely make sure you bring cash to tip them! Can't wait to return sometime soon! A lovely place to be with friends! Enjoy, and cheers! ~Susan

Came early (around 7PM) on a Friday night for my birthday and the vibe was fun but not over run with people. My group was able to occupy a few seats and roam around between games, the foosball table, and bowling comfortably. By midnight, the place was so packed that people were dancing between the pool tables which made it hard for us to play. We kept having to move people out of the way. BEWARE THE DRESS CODE; one of my male friends got turned away because he was in cargo shorts and a tee. Another female friends got turned away for not having backings to her shoes, despite them being stylish.

Well it's an amazing spot to come to. I've never been here before. The music is jumping. The crowd is sweet and the music is slamming. I will be back here .

The bartender in this image refused to serve me water. About 10 minutes later, another girl came up next to me, while I was still waiting for a different bartender to be free. She asked the same man in the picture for water, and he provided it to her immediately. Seeing this, I asked him for water once again, and he made a motion for me to go to the other side of the bar. Due to this discrimination, I wanted to make sure I had a picture of him for this review, so I took a picture, and he ran away because he didn't want to be exposed. He then had two bouncers kick me out for having an "altercation" even though the only interactions between us involved me asking for water and him refusing to provide it twice. Regardless of the reason he refused, he was unprofessional and biased, serving others, but not me. This establishment supported what he said, immediately kicking me out even after I explained my side to one of the female security guards. DO NOT GO HERE if you want to be treated fairly. I also just read a ton of other reviews saying similar things about how the staff and bouncers are incredibly rude, so this establishment has a lot of training to do. Side note there is a $20 cover that is incredibly not worth it when there are several better and less grimy clubs and bars in the area.

Sure it has a slide, but at a certain point....so what!? Slate was one of the places I enjoyed pre-pandemic. Recent visit, was less than impressed. Pros: has a slide has different levels has games diverse group of folks cons: crowded - very crowded - not even in a fun "nyc is back kind of way" but to the point you can't really move at all without bumping into someone or someone bumping into you. I've had more space on the rush hour train. Bouncers are aggressive- I get you have a job to do, but just a lot of nonsensical yelling. Makes TSA seem tame. Bar very very very crowded (tip: pregame before) Cover charge, which I don't remember them ever having before The slide is still fun, tho

I was in the city for a bachelorette party and we stopped by Slate. Cover charge is $20 and we ordered our passes online before going. When we got there the bouncer didn't want to let the bride in because her sandals didn't have an ankle strap. Luckily someone in our party had a pair of flats for her. The whole strap thing was ridiculous but whatever we got in. There's two levels. We spent our time downstairs. The music was okay, the transitions were weird. Someone in our party asked the DJ to give a shout out to the bride but he refused. Shortly after the DJ gave a shout out for someone's birthday, thought that was lame. Drinks were overpriced and the wait at the bar was long. Later in the night it got more crowded and people were being pushy. Like I mentioned I was here with a bachelorette party, I would not go out of my way to return.

Fun and unique time...especially if you're looking for more of a good atmosphere/quirky approach to clubbing and not as much concerned about drinks. I love the giant slide, giant connect four and Jenga as well as the basketball games. It's almost like a barcade but a club. Music is about 6/10, unfortunately I'm not a huge fan of the drinks at all...unoriginal, typically out of a lot, and are definitely not the tastiest.

Gurl WHAT?! This multi-level spot is a whole VIBE. Downstairs: Games galore! It gets pretty packed down there on a weekend. By 8pm it was pretty packed to be honest, but the upstairs doesn't start up until like 11pm or so. Upstairs: A pretty decently big nightclub, with bottle service, DJ, and all! Tid Bids: --At least the day I went in March 2022, there was FREE coat check. Line could get a little long though. --Common sense, but no drinks on the slide --If you want to cop a game of pool, hover over some folks playing and once they're done walk upstairs with them to purchase the pool balls. If you play a game and just give it away you are being charged on time. -- this is the kind of spot I wore black jeans, cute top, and heeled booties to. Don't have to get too fancy, unless you're strictly staying at the night club upstairs.

It was a terrible experience I went to celebrate a friend's birthday and we ordered food and drinks and not even 5 mins from our food being served they were trying to kick us out even though we had food and drinks because a miserable person claimed to see us drink from a outside bottle even though we're checked in the front outside before coming in.

Slate is sadly a glorified sports bar with zany and "whacky" gimmicks to draw in crowds. I was charged $18 for a single bottom-shelf drink. Yes, they have a slide and games inside. However, that's all that goes for this place. The inside is nothing amazing. Yeah sure they have a slide that goes down to the main floor, but I feel like it's all gimmicks to lure in touristy NYC goers that don't know any better. However, I must rate it one star because the waitress put down a tip that I never included. I tipped $7 on an order of 3 drinks, which I thought was fair. I tipped in cash. Next thing I knew, my card was being charged $63 for 3 drinks. Hold up, what? Turns out, the bartender took my cash tip AND THEN charged the same amount on my card. I confronted the woman about it and she went completely oblivious on me. Pretended she had no idea what I meant. Manager sided with the bartender. I laughed and called my credit card company and got my money back. I mean, how could anyone rate a spot more than 1 star after being fraudulently charged? I sent the owner an email and never heard back, so I have to reasonably assume that the owner is in on the scam and actually endorses the bartenders to charge a "lil extra".

I've been here a few times and loved it! I went to two comedy shows and one night just for the games/food. I loved it each time! The food is so good! I highly recommend the nachos - it's a very big portion and delicious. The best nachos I've ever had, and I'm not being dramatic when I say that! I've also had the garlic knot burger sliders, which were really good too. My husband got the regular burger and said it was delicious! The service was so-so for the comedy nights, but too notch for the other night where we just came to eat and chill. Everyone we spoke to has been nice and friendly. The ambiance is dope - fun, great music, loud in some parts and quieter in others, and aesthetically pleasing!

PROS: Absolutely amazing! This place is huge with live music and a multitude of bars inside. The music is lit and the drinks were properly made. The staff was very nice and they even had a free coat check. My favorite quality was the slide they had CONS: The slide needs less wax on it cause its hard to go down. The drinks are also over priced and it takes 9 years for the line outside to move into the bar OVERALL: This is definitely a top notch place I would go to and would suggest this with anyone....that's willing to spend a pretty penny

This was my first time coming here and I had a fun time. The highlight of this place is definitely the food and the DJ. Some of the staff were super rude and the drinks are to not waste money on. I asked for redbull and Henny and they literally charge u for the whole can of redbull just to put a splash of it in your drink and then keep the rest? I'm not sure why that makes sense. Definitely felt ripped off at the Bar.

I was visiting NYC and my friend recommended that we go out to this place. It was extremely popping on a Saturday night with both levels being really fun. I think downstairs was a bit more low-key with arcade games and a more "top-40" music dance floor. Upstairs is definitely the place to be if you're aiming for more of the hip-hop vibe and jam-packed dance floor. The slide from upstairs to the downstairs floor was really cool too!
