Slightly Toasted

Really enjoyed the atmosphere and folks at Slightly Toasted. Lots of choices for appetizers and food. The Beef sandwich was phenomenal. What was really special about Slightly Toasted is their bourbon and Whiskey collection. I had a 23 Year old Pappy, and a 2021 George T. Stagg. Oh my. Staggeringly good. Whether you're just catching up with friends and coworkers, or things more serious, this is a great place to experience.

I came to Slightly Toasted for lunch and I found my new favorite. Aly helped me with the menu in recommending the different menu items good for sharing. First from the "Shareables", we ordered the Garlic Pretzel Knot and I've never had anything like this. It was very flavorful. The mustard really put it all together, and the buratta on top.... It was perfect. Then we decided to order a burger to split, so we ordered the ST Burger, it was very good. Definitely would come here again for the burger. We also ordered the Avocado toast, my favorite. It was very fresh and a good amount of flavor. Truly appreciated that. Also, the bacon and egg toast was really good. The sourdough bread with both of the toast was perfect. Just the toast alone, is a great reason to come here for breakfast, lunch, or even dinner. Definitely adding this to my favorites list. PERIODT!

Drinks were good, some interesting cocktails. Ideal for corporate shin digs. Not too loud, so it was easy to talk. Food was very good.

Went here for dinner. The whiskey selection was plentiful. I asked for a recommendation close to my normal nightcap (Angel's Envy) and the bartender didn't disappoint! I like that the food came from the neighboring restaurants, so selection was varied allowing us to have Spanish and Asian food along with our drinks in the same place. Would love to visit again.

Food was overly spicy with no warning from the wait staff that we would be basically eating a glob of chili sauce and spicy mayo that took any flavor away from the actual food on the dish. Also, I'm aware outdoor seating comes with the risk of bugs but the amount of gnats was insane with no attempt at fighting the high density of bugs in sight. They were flying into the food and drinks at an alarming amount. Waiter was also cold and not personable at all.

Looking for a place to go after work? There is no question that this is the spot! Ace was the bartender and created astounding drinks that shook my taste buds to the core! Many places struggle to make a proper old fashion. This has to be one of the best I've tasted. The whiskey selection is also amazing. Very hard to find bottles are here. If you can't find a whiskey you like...then you don't like whisky 🥃. Thank you guys. Definitely made my Friday night

Great great place! First, I loved the idea of the concept of toasts, and on top of that, the toasts were very good - awesome quality - it was delicious! They have a very long lists of whiskies - scotch - bourbons which my husband loved. The wine list is smaller though, but I was not disapointed with the 2 wines I took which I usually am in other bars... We were very surprised of the quality of what this place serves, drinks and food are very good, it is a great place to relax. I recommend going with the toasts rather than the starters, it seemed to me that the toast were bigger portions than the starters.

One of the best selections of bourbon in the area. I've had lots of Manhattans, but this place made an outstanding one. The food menu is small but a little something for everyone. The service was excellent. If you haven't tried this place you should.

Slightly Toasted is the perfect spot in Chicago's West Loop for anyone who loves whiskey, craft beer, and a relaxed vibe. They have an insane whiskey selection with over 900 options, including a bunch of private barrels and rare bottles, so there's always something new to try. One of the best perks here is their half-price whiskey pours on Wednesdays--definitely the best deal in town. Plus, whenever a new rare or hard-to-find bottle lands in Chicago, you can bet they'll have it ready for tastings the same day. Their barrel picks are worth checking out too--my favorite this year has been the Weller Antique 107. Their monthly events make the place even more special, from blind tastings of celebrity bourbons to their "turkey dinner" with Wild Turkey products, and the epic "Pappy New Year" lineup. Beyond the whiskey, they've got a great selection of craft beer and some seriously good coffee, so it's a place you can hang out any time. Highly recommend Slightly Toasted to anyone looking for a relaxed spot to enjoy great drinks and fun events.

Very unique place, this was my first time going to a Whiskey Bar / Pub like this. It was awesome - wish I could go here more frequently. This is a perfect spot to hangout with friends, enjoy good drinks, and have great conversations. I wish I could've tried everything on the menu (because it was all so good) but I would've had to crawl home if that was the case. Just means I have to come back soon. Our server was great and she even walked us through the menu / was educational. I was love that, she seemed passionate & excited to be at work. The other thing I wish I did was try the food! It looked delicious and definitely I must next time I go. This was the kind of place that I wanted to show other people (haha) because of the good time I had, I wanted to share that same excitement. Made reservations for a visit while traveling into town with kids - well in advance. Just received noticed of my reservation being cancelled. Tried to reach out via email to inquire why, and received no response. Very disappointed. Poor customer service like that is so easily avoided.

By far the best whiskey selection I've seen, incredible staff, great prices, I cant imagine a better bar to spend your money at. Loved it and I will be back here every time I visit Chicago.

I stopped by 2 weeks ago for Whiskey Wednesday as I am a Bourbon Enthusiast and a friend told me that they have a great whiskey list. And boy, they sure do! My co-worker and I arrived after work around 5-5:30pm and it was packed. Slightly Toasted is located in the bottom floor of an office building, next to Ogilvie, and it was 5 o'clock somewhere. The ambience was dimly lit and they had tables all around with a big bar. We were able to find 2 spots at the bar, but I'm pretty sure they were the last two spots available. Tables started to open up around 6:30pm. For food, I ordered the Barbacoa tacos dinner and it's from Asadito Taco, which is the restaurant next door and they came out pretty fast after ordering. The tacos were delicious, they had a good portion size, and it was only $15.50 so a good value. The rice and beans were pretty good as well. For alcohol, I ordered straight from the Reserve list as I have drank a lot of bourbon within my lifetime and I am really only looking for good values of my favorites and unicorns that I haven't tried. I ordered 1.5oz pours of each of Larceny Barrel Proof A120, Little Book Vol. 3 "The Long Road Home", and Thomas Handy Sazerac 20' from the BTAC. All pours were reasonably priced and all three of those bourbons are hard to find and pretty rare. My co-worker had the Bookers, Basil Hayden's Toast, and Eagle Rare. The Basil Hayden's Toast and Eagle Rare were half off with it being Whiskey Wednesday. Essentially, the 50%-off whiskies on Whiskey Wednesdays were anything not on the Reserve List. Our bartender, John, was swamped, but he was great! He told me that it's half priced whiskey on Wednesday all day, not just for Happy Hour like I originally thought, and you can buy bottles from their online store. He said that Slightly Toasted's business model is to sell whiskey at an affordable price, which is great because the secondary market and other bars in Chicago are out of control. I'm looking at you Longman & Eagle and Delilah's... Overall, Slightly Toasted has one of the BEST whiskey collections in Chicago and most of their whiskey is reasonably priced. The food was delicious and the service was great! If you are a Whiskey Enthusiast, then you need to check out Slightly Toasted!

Just commenting on the staff and the cocktails. John, Tyler and Ace are amazing hosts at the bar. Their recommendations are perfect. The barrel aged old fashioned's are awesome. I've been here a couple times so far and will be back more. Highly recommend.

This place was such a pleasant surprise. I wish I had discovered it sooner. Great drop in spot if you're in Westloop for brunch, lunch or early dinner during the week. It has a beautiful interior, solid menu, quality cocktails and a welcoming staff. Sad to see a single one star review, nothing bad to say about the food, drinks or service here. Enjoy, this place is great!

Food was sooooo good. The drinks were great. Cute cozy spot with a great eats. Definitely a palate pleaser. Nuanced flavor profiles.

Portions were larger than expected and our party of 3 enjoyed our outdoor lunch. Service was fast and efficient.

Wow what a gem! I truly loved this place. The drink list is amazing, especially if you're a fan of barrel aged drinks. They have a whole dedicated section. I believe they have a pretty awesome whiskey selection too. We came for the drinks, but if you're feeling hungry they have a few restaurants next to them that you can order from. We had the Cajun fries to snack on which were great. The service is amazing! Friendly staff that really go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and having a good time. The ambiance was great as well! They had plenty of TVs on one side of the bar to watch games, the music was great, and a little corner with a fireplace and chill seating. I wish this was open on weekends! I'll definitely be coming back.

Came here on a weekday morning before work to catch up with some friends. I loved the interior - there is a little nook with couches and a fireplace. As for the food, there aren't too many options for breakfast. I settled for the avocado toast and it was good! Generous portions of avocado (I would hope so since it's $9!) and you don't feel hungry afterwards nor are you overwhelmingly full.

We stopped in for drinks after work and enjoyed it. Their Becky's New Berries (vodka, blueberry syrup, peach, bubbles) was outstanding!! Service was excellent. We noticed people at other tables were trying whiskey varieties so this seems to be a place for dedicated whiskey connoisseurs. It is open Mondays to Fridays only. We will return for food and more cocktails.

Lunch is not the best. Will be back for drinks and apps. I got the chicken panini and was told it's their favorite sandwich and it was just okay.

I stumbled upon this place when looking for last minute reservations and I'm glad I did! The food was very good (I had gumbo and an al pastor taco). The portions were large and prices very reasonable. The service was also great. I ordered a shrub mocktail but learned that on Wednesdays, whiskey is half off. Would recommend to anyone looking for a casual and delicious night out.

3.5 Stars I've been meaning to check this place out since it's so close to my office. It wasn't what I was expecting walking in. It's actually a sit down Restaurant. Since I was by myself I opted to sit at the bar. My main reason for coming was to experience the toasts! I went with 2 savory and 1 dessert toast. The avocado toast was just okay. I've actually had a lot better cause it was sort of bland. I however did enjoy the Steak & Egg Toast although I wish it was a little less crispy cause it was hard to cut. For dessert I went with the Butterscotch and Nutella Toast. Omg I brought this back to my desk to eat and you could totally smell and taste the bourbon. I was hopping my co workers didn't think I was drinking at my desk after lunch. Lol...it's good, but you've been warn you might end up a little tipsy. Lol. I would come back, but not often because the prices are a tad high for the quantity.

This new spot opened up in a very convenient location right next to Ogilvie, so I had to give it a try. I made a reservation for my work team for lunch and hyped up the menu offerings to them well in advance. However, the hype was for nothing unfortunately, as our experience was pretty awful... Turns out half the menu items were unavailable that day, and the waitress was obviously upset about it too. She seemed very frustrated with the restaurant, so I could clearly tell that Slightly Toasted management wasn't doing so well- and for obvious reasons too. Since so many options were missing from the menu, our choices were very limited. Especially since the menu was already small enough, it was pretty discouraging. The appetizers we ordered- the cheese and charcuterie board, salmon poke, and bacon and egg toast- were all mediocre at best. The bacon and egg toast was probably the favorite, but nothing to rave about. The charcuterie meat was mainly just fat as well, and thus difficult to stomach. I got the salad with smoked salmon, which was a very tiny dish. The salmon pieces were little crumbs of leftover smoked salmon meat essentially, and I could tell the people that ordered the smoked salmon toast were disappointed as well. The food and drinks we ordered also took a really long time to come out, so we ended up spending about an hour and a half just for lunch. The food was definitely not worth this wait, so I doubt I, or anyone else on my team, will be going there a second time unfortunately.

Such a great little spot!! Tyler and his team were amazing. We went for a bachelprette paty and and helped our group learn all about whiskey and bourbon. So cool!!

Everyone HAS to try the Seafood Gumbo. It's made using sustainably sourced fish, Wild Alaska Pollock, and boy is it good! Mouthwatering. Must try.

Artisan Toast Alert! Im from NYC so I am pretty over the artisan toast fad buttt this place really hit the spot. Came for breakfast (and to watch Jim Comey Testimony). It was one of the only places open early during the week for dine in breakfast. I got the avocado toast with scrambled eggs and a bomb ass mixed greens salad on top. Seems simple but it was soooo good. I wish the avocados were mashed and spread on the bread tho. They were sliced and put on top which looks nice but made it a little more involved to eat than I would have liked. I had an orange juice which was average then a coffee based cocktail which was awesome and then a really dry hard cider which was good if youre not into sweeter ciders. The staff was mad cool. They didnt bother me but checked in and made convo here and there. Before I left they gave me lots of recommendations on other places to get great food in chicago. I'll def be back next time I am in chicago.

What can I say other than this is hands down one of the best food, coffee, and whiskey establishments in the City of Chicago with next level service. Everything about this place is amazing. The space is amazing, the coffee program is fucking incredible, the whiskey and single barrel program is one of the best in the city plus amazing prices including on rare whiskey (huge bonus points that they also have an incredible Scotch selection in addition to American whiskey), the cocktail program kills it, the food situation is innovative and delicious, and the people that work there are SO BEYOND AMAZING. If my office were closer and my SO wouldn't murder me for doing so, I'd be here every day after work. These guys ALSO regularly hold awesome whiskey bottle shares and other great events. It's a perfect spot for having a solo drink after work, meeting friends, or holding a networking or other work related event. This is easily the best happy hour spot in the Loop, not to mention one of the few places in the business district of Chicago where you can chill ALL day and eat and drink well at reasonable prices. 10/10

I think slightly toasted is a cool concept. The area is super nice (looks nice too!) and has a good ambiance. I'm not as big of a fan of the toasts. Everything is fresh but it's almost a bit lacking. The toasts are piled high with veggies and looks deceptively dense. I wish they had more of the ingredients (such as more avocado on the avocado toast) on the toast itself.

Came to Slighty Toasted with a group of coworkers for happy hour and let's just say we got more than slightly toasted! I've been here a few times and their drinks are always strong and tasty. My favorite go to is the Upside Down. If you like tequila please get this! We shared a charcuterie board, which had a ton of cheeses and meats. As always downtown can be pricy, but I feel like you really get what you pay for here - food quality! There is also a cute sidewalk area to enjoy the hot summer days.

A friend and I were armed with a gilt city voucher for dinner, so we got to try several items. Turns out slightly toasted has the longest and latest happy hour I've ever heard of (from 6:30 to 9:30) so that is another way of experiencing the menu on a budget. We started with a flight of toasts: fava bean hummus, strawberries and cream, and butterscotch nutella. That's in order of preference. I'd eat the fava bean toast again but would probably skip the other two. The bacon and egg toast was the best of the night. Granted, most things with bacon are pretty good but this bacon was even better than usual. I had the frose drink and would not get it again. I can't remember the name of my friend's drink but she liked it. For entrees, I had braised short rib sandwich and my friend had the burger. The short rib sandwich was good, but I'd definitely get the burger next time. Both come on sourdough brioche bun that is delicious and the flavors of the sandwiches, especially the burger were on point.

Slightly Toasted was not bad at all, more of a 3.5, I think I thoroughly enjoyed the concept a lot just because it is obviously built upon current food fads. However, I must admit that I wasn't too impressed with the execution of the food. For all the components placed on their savory toasts, i'd expect some more impressive flavors especially as they're supposed to be "appetizers". However, I wasn't super thrilled but certainly not disappointed. Their cocktails are also pretty great. This is definitely somewhere you would go after work with a couple of your co-workers or friends to grab a drink and some interesting bites. Otherwise I'd advise to go elsewhere for your food. Nonetheless, the service was good and the experience wasn't poor. Would be back if I just happen to be in the area.

I was in Chicago for a business trip and one of our colleagues took us to Slightly Toasted.!! No words.!! I can go again and again if I am in Chicago.!! The portion is pretty apt for a lunch. The quality and taste is incomparable. I tried flat bread and the cost was worth, so wouldn't say its expensive.!! I am not sure on parking, so being in downtown, it better to uber/walk.!!

Maybe the name says it. Maybe the cooks in the back are.... well....high? It's too bad, based on great reviews I went out of my way across town to satisfy my lunch hunger. Even paid $4 to park. I actually just moved out of the area, and realized as I'm walking up, that this was formerly a bar (never really crowded) that had popped up on my radar last summer. Clearly it didn't work out, and Slightly Toasted is here for the moment. The service is far more superior than its food. Hummus toast. Hearth Bread, chickpea hummus, pickled beets, avocado, feta, chives. $4 I know it's only four bucks. I'll live. Four bucks or fourty bucks. Its a simple dish. Somehow Cheech in the kitchen (which is on the other side of the bar) has managed to screw it up. We'll start with the basics. Toast: Hard as a rock, not kidding, even the steak knife they gave me and my explosive guns couldn't break through the exterior. The hummus: there is definitely something other than plain garbanzos, tahini, and oil in here. It's red and soupy! Tomato perhaps? Why not state that on the menu? The beets and the avocado slices are the only savior to this dish. Shaved and fresh beets, avocado freshly sliced onto a bed of frisee lettuce and feta cheese. Chives??? Nope. Tommy Chong has a short term memory. The manager sees I'm riding the struggle bus here with my dish as I'm scraping everything off this boulder of "toast", and sends me home with another go of the dish on the house. When I get home, it's the opposite experience. The "toast" is actually just a hunk of bread. Cheech needs to add Toasting 101 to his curriculum.

This is super cool, cozy--yet spacious and open--spot! I loved all the nooks and varied seating options, the fireplace, and the vibe. I'll return at least once more to get a solid read on the food, as my two experiences so far were rather dissimilar. On my first visit I had left work before 8 am and come downtown to meet my attorney/brother before he started work. I'd already had more coffee than I needed, so I didn'tn't order any, but the two toast offerings I tried were winners! Especially the Hangar Steak and Egg: succulent hangar steak tartare, sweet-tart dried cranberries, garlic aioli...mmm let me stop before I start drooling! On my second visit, I met an old friend after work. He worked in the building, and had already procured a table in an out-of-the-way spot near the window. This was a good thing, since this joint really starts jumping early evening! I ordered the Braised Beef Short Rib Sandwich (with deelishus housemade chips) and couldn't resist ordering the Steak & Egg toast that I remembered so fondly from before. My friend wasn't hungry, so he just had a drink. The owner came by and offered my friend a taste of some premium, special reserve, small batch whiskey (6 Roses, maybe?) and chatted a bit. The ambience and service was as excellent as it was the first time, but the food fell, sadly, short of my expectations. Even my beloved Steak & Egg toast! The cocktail I had was called the Dreamsicle, and the server swore it tasted just like one. Well, I was able to discern a bit of orange cream taste, but that was nearly overpowered by cloves! Cloves in a Dreamsicle?? The horror! Anyhoo, the whiskey was great, very smooth, and I'm not even a fan of whiskey! My friend enjoyed it so well that he placed an order for it. Apparently, what we'd downed was the last of that special, sooper-dooper limited edition we'd first imbibed, so they felt free to substitute another whiskey by the same distiller. This one was NOT so great--or smooth--and reminded me that I don't care for whiskey! I paid $16 for the lesson, too...

Our bartender, Josh I think was his name, was fantastic! He was very passionate and knowledgeable about the whiskeys Slightly Toasted serves. The place is clean cut minimalist and squeaky clean!

Day two of Slightly Toasted and I'm almost slightly reluctant to write this review because I don't want massive crowds taking over my new favorite breakfast spot but ST deserves recognition so here it goes... I work next door so I know the bar before this very well. The décor, almost identical to the previous bar, is very cute, clean, modern, spacious, and welcoming. But I still feel it lacks something. I want more ART, more glam, more POP. But this is something the masterminds of Oak & Char know, I'm sure, and will change very soon (hopefully). I literally JUST had two breakfast items from Slightly Toasted as I type this and I'm still wishing there was more. The first was the steak tartare toast. WOW. So, so good. It had cranberries, raw steak (obvi), and an egg on the side, SLIGHTLY cooked, which I spread all over the steak toast. It paired perfectly. The toast had great seasonings and was just the right amount for breakfast - filling but not too hearty. The toast itself is either whole grain or wheat of some sort? Flavor still spot on though SLIGHTLY healthy ;) My coworker ordered an avocado toast. When I asked her how hers was she said, "Amazing! I'll go once a week for this, every week! I'll be going for more toasts for sure." ST also has fresh baked pastries every morning but "when they're gone, they're gone." When I walked in to pick up my steak tartare order, I did not think the devil on my left shoulder was going to be so stern on me, forcing me to order this delicious cookie that was screaming my name! I thought the angel on the right would take over and make me stay true to my diet. F that ish, "when they're gone, they're gone", the devil said. I snatched up a chocolate chip with a coffee on the side. Hands freaking down, one of the BEST chocolate chip cookies I've ever had. If you're lucky to get your hands on one of these bad boys before they sell out for the day, DO IT and do it NOW. One criticism that I have for ST's breakfast is that they MUST step up their coffee game. There was no skim milk on the day I went (only 2% or whole) and there was no splenda (that I saw). My friend ordered a cappuccino and said that "though it tasted strong; Starbucks' was better." Besides the coffee, I would go try them STAT. Go ASAP before a lot of people find out about this place! I really, really hope they start doing happy hour specials too. This girl LOVES whiskey so this place will be a dream for me post-5PM. Good luck, ST, I wish you all the success you deserve!

Overall: such a unique spot in the west loop! Great for a quick breakfast, lunch or drinks after work. We came to Slightly Toasted to waste some time and grab a quick drink before a Yelp event. I like that they have a communal seating area in addition to the bar seating, so you don't feel that you have to wait for a table if you're short on time. Their menu is so unique! They serve a handful of different toasts (avocado, peanut butter, etc) and other lunch items (sandwiches, salads) alongside beers, wines, ciders and many whiskeys! One of the bartenders served us at the communal table and was very knowledgeable and friendly! Great atmosphere in this bar as well. I'd definitely come back!

I really liked the large open space interior. I went during my lunch break and though I made a rather bizarre seating selection, I really enjoyed my avocado toast! (I sat in an armchair at a low table that may have made more sense for happy hour). It wasn't packed at all when I went around noon. My avocado toast totaled to about $7-$8 (before tip) and filled me up. It did kind of turn into more of an avocado, egg and greens salad since it was so loaded, but I didn't mind. Definitely going back to try some other toasts! (The menu has more than just toast though).

Inexpensive for pretty fancy toast. Our strawberry toast was a bit on the dry side with an abundant amount of the jelly/jam type spread. It would be good for those with a sweet tooth. The cinnamon toast with sautéed apples, pecans and cheese espuma looked incredible. The toast was toasted just enough. But the apples soaked in cinnamon glaze and the bitter cheese didn't seem to complement each other too well. More pecans may help. The lone bartender/barista/server/bus boy was very nice and pretty attentive for being pretty stretched with the about a dozen customers all around. He did handle it pretty well. The atmosphere was nice and warm. It looks like it could be the trending after work spot for drinks vs an early morning breakfast spot.

Now I understand the comments regarding the dark lighting. It's not bad, the setting is intimate enough, I think it's different because brunch places are generally brighter and more open. Nevertheless, the atmosphere was great! The staff was knowledgeable and attentive without being overbearing. My friend and I started with the Burrata and eggplant as an appetizer on the recommendation of our waitress. It was so delicious. The bread, which is baked in house was crispy and chewy, a great complement to the eggplant sauce, which was positively delightful. I am a fan of eggplant, but was pleasantly surprised when you really couldn't taste the "eggplant" flavor at all. The combination of tomatoes/spices and the melted cheese on top was great! There were 6 triangles of bread, so my friend and I both had 3. At $8 total, so $4 each, this was definitely worth trying. We were then served our Beef&Egg and Avocado Toast. The beef tartare had a very smooth flavor, a great combination of sweet and savory. And the Avocado with sprouts had a bit of a kick to it with some red pepper flakes, but I felt the flavor was a little bland. Eggs were both served poached and the yolk was great bringing all the flavors together. Unfortunately, I would have preferred my eggs slightly more well done, so I wish we were offered to customize our order a little (also with the bread for each toast), but it was fine as is. Great spot to try at least once for brunch! Will most definitely be back!

I do see what the hype is about, solid lunch/brunch spot with great drinks. The location is not too crazy, which is a nice addition to the area. Interior is cute and comforting. You have a variety of toasts, fresh ingredients, and pretty speedy service. I'm a fan. Instagram: @chefnatasha

We came for coffee and toast and were not disappointed. The brioche was a nice thick piece for $3 with plenty of berry/plum jam and a WAY TOO BIG mini crock of butter. The brioche was already buttered but they gave more and both the bread and butter needed salt. They said the jam was berry but it definitely had plums or other brown fruit in it. The decaf cortado (espresso with a tiny shot of hot milk) was smooth and had a nice little white foam heart on top. The cappucino had a white foam multi-heart on it. Heard the staff say they are changing menus soon. Good location close to the Ogilvie Transportation center. If around fir drinks or dinner would stop in again.

Very nice downtown bar/restaurant in an office building. Although the menu is limited, the wait staff and whisky selection are amazing. No parking, but when you're coming from the office, who needs it? I'll be revising this soon, as I plan to return...several times. Try the potato wedges!

I came to Slightly Toasted for lunch and I found my new favorite. Aly helped me with the menu in recommending the different menu items good for sharing. First from the "Shareables", we ordered the Garlic Pretzel Knot and I've never had anything like this. It was very flavorful. The mustard really put it all together, and the buratta on top.... It was perfect. Then we decided to order a burger to split, so we ordered the ST Burger, it was very good. Definitely would come here again for the burger. We also ordered the Avocado toast, my favorite. It was very fresh and a good amount of flavor. Truly appreciated that. Also, the bacon and egg toast was really good. The sourdough bread with both of the toast was perfect. Just the toast alone, is a great reason to come here for breakfast, lunch, or even dinner. Definitely adding this to my favorites list. PERIODT!

Great service. A lot of variety on the menu. It was expensive but I guess because of where it's located in the city that makes more sense.

Wandered in the other day for lunch on a Wednesday with a bunch of business friends. Got seated immediately - this place is pretty low key at lunch. Good for lunch time conversation - the room works well for this. I've only been here before for happy hour when it can be packed and tough to talk. Totally different and civilized at lunch. Our table had a variety of well composed salads. The Bibb salad with peaches and green goddess dressing was exceptional. The whole grain salad also got great reviews. We started with the Chef's Board selection of meat and cheeses. This had something for everyone and was a nice way for the group to get things kicked off. Finally, and perhaps, most importantly, the bar is open during lunch. When one of our group decided it was a cocktailing lunch Slightly Toasted was happy to oblige. Their Liquid Lunch program begins at 11am and features $6 Old Fashioneds, so what's not to like?

What a quiet and quant location. Extremely cozy. I arrived with coworkers today and was immediately greeted. Waitress was attentive and constantly filled our water glasses. I ordered the HMS (Hot Meat Sandwich) which is pretty much Braised Short Rib with pink coleslaw. YUMMMMYYYYYY!!! The chips taste like they're homemade which is a plus. I'd like to come back again for happy hour!

What a convenient location to have a cup of coffee, a quick drink, or a delicious breakfast in record time. As I waited for my train, I was able to sit down with a delicious latte and bacon and egg toast. The egg was cooked to perfection with a gooey center that drizzled over crunchy toast melted down with cheese and crispy bacon. The combination of chives, red pepper and bacon was a flavorful explosion. It was such an indulgent breakfast on the go! All of it ~$11. There are other options including avocado toast and pb&j toast for others who have dietary restrictions. You won't be sorry you stopped in. And to add-- what a clever play on words-- "slightly toasted"! They do have a full bar too.

Loved this place! Great ambiance, delicious food, and fantastic drinks. Everyone who was working was extremely friendly, kind and helpful. The Becky berry drink was delicious! My friends and I had a small birthday happy hour gathering there and it was great for our small group. We ordered some food and everyone agreed that it was all delicious. PLUS they serve breakfast food all day!!! I had the breakfast sandwich while everyone else had burgers. $4 for a delicious biscuit breakfast sandwich is a deal (especially for West loop area)! Yes, some food and drink are pricey, but for the location and the quality, it's worth it. It's also right next to the Ogilvie metra station, so it's easy to get to from anywhere.

Came here looking for the Wednesday whiskey & wings special that is actually at Little Toasted. Instead of directing us to the right restaurant our waitress said that they "just stopped offering it." Service was neither here nor there, the appetizers were good, but the burger was kind of embarrassing. For getting drinks and dinner after work it's better than Dugan's but can't hold a candle to anything on Randolph.

I grew up with an English mother, so toast served a variety of ways speaks to my way of life. I was slightly disappointed to find that my kale salad hit the mark more than my simple buttered toast. While a large piece, my toast was 100% cold and a bit on the bland side even with the butter and jam. You cannot serve cold bland toast at a restaurant that's all about toast... However..service was good and the salad + drinks were up to par with the area. I want to chalk up the toast to an off night and would try again!

Trip at Chicago means eating a lot so we decided to stop by this place for lunch to avoid any more fatty dishes. Fantastic, service hyper nice, I got a Balt sandwich with an poached egg extra. Plenty of choices of beer, but I got a nice cider. The place is cute itself and relaxing. Many thanks

The concept is intriguing, the whiskey list is surprisingly impressive, but the food is underwhelming at best. Slightly Toasted was not what I expected.. It felt like a whiskey bar located in the lobby of a corporate building, that just happens to also serve coffee, toasts, sandwiches, and shared plates. They offer an exceptional selection of both standard and hard-to-find bourbon, rye, scotch, and Japanese whisk(e)y options. Anything ranging from Very Old Barton to Pappy Van Winkle, with Nikka and Lagavulin in between. Although their pours are relatively pricey, they offer 50% off whiskey (neat or on the rocks) on Monday's - most limited options are excluded. On the other hand, the food was just average. The ST Burger had all the right ingredients (caramelized onions, jalapeno aioli, bourbon pickles..) but ultimately wound up being fairly flavorless. The Chicken Bahn Mi had some decent heat, but the flavors weren't overly complex and fell a bit flat. Definitely worth swinging by for a drink after work, but head a few blocks over to the West Loop for a ton of better lunch or dinner options.
