"Open For: Lunch and Dinner Price Range: $ - $$ Hip-hop-inspired Slim & Husky’s Pizza Beeria has locations on Metropolitan Parkway and Morehouse College. (The original Atlanta location on Howell Mill closed in September 2024.) The popular North Nashville pizzeria, owned by college friends Clinton Gray, Derrick Moore, and Emanuel Reed, features a menu filled with pizzas named for songs by various hip-hop and R&B artists like the Rony, Roni, Rone!, named for the group Tony! Toni! Toné!. It includes three types of pepperoni. The meaty Cee No Green pays tribute to crooner CeeLo Green from Atlanta-based Goodie Mob. Best For: Hip-hop and R&B-inspired pizzas with plenty of sauces and meats" - Eater Staff
"We're always down for a really smart deal—from the Sock Man van across from the mall to the bean pie vendors outside the Marta station—so $12 Tuesdays at Slim & Husky's is right up our alley. The hip-hop-themed pizzeria is the perfect post-work retreat, where you can unwind with craft beers and boozy slushies. The shape and crunch of their crust gives off more flatbread than pizza, but you need their sturdy dough so you can pile up your personal pizza with next-level toppings like smoked chicken, salmon, and peach mustard drizzle. Plus, Slim & Husky’s menu shows love to vegans (with faux meats and dairy-free cheeses) and dessert lovers (with signature cinnamon rolls), too." - demarco williams, nina reeder
"Snoop Lion gave up his short lived Rastafarian life and returned to being plain ol’ Snoop Dogg a while back. But there’s still a vegan slice named for his classic song with Dr. Dre at hip-hop themed pizzeria Slim & Husky’s. It’s called Nuthin But a V’Thang, and it comes with vegan cheese, sausage, and pepperoni—so Rasta Snoop’s spirit lives on. With a catalogue of other vegan and non-vegan toppings, Slim & Husky’s menu and always-animated atmosphere attracts everyone from after-work crowds to AUC students who keep this place on rotation for a quick bite and boozy slushie." - jacinta howard
"Just go ahead and add Slim & Husky’s $12 Tuesdays to your weekly calendar. The hip-hop-themed pizzeria is the perfect post-work retreat, where you can unwind with craft beers and boozy slushies. The shape and crunch of their crust gives off more flatbread than pizza, but you need their sturdy dough so you can pile up your pizza with next-level toppings like smoked chicken, salmon, and peach mustard drizzle. Slim & Husky’s shows love to the vegans, too, with tasty faux meats and dairy-free cheese options. Sweeten the deal with signature cinnamon roll creations like their Sticky Fingaz, made with bacon and caramel-infused with Uncle Nearest whiskey. We like all three locations, but for a bigger space and patio scene, the location on Metropolitan is our favorite." - demarco williams, nina reeder, juli horsford
"This Black-owned pizza chain based in Nashville came to Atlanta in 2019 and has since expanded to two locations, including this one on Metropolitan Parkway just south of the AUC. Owned by HBCU grads and friends Clinton Gray, Derrick Moore, and Emanuel Reed, each pizza is named for a popular hip-hop or R&B song. Try the artichoke, red onion, and sliced tomato pie called California Love with spinach basil pesto or get meatier with the red-sauced Rony, Roni, Rone topped with pork and beef pepperoni. Beer is a must at Slim and Husky’s, hence the name “pizza beeria.”" - Mike Jordan
