"This coffee shop in a converted house is so very cool, with its midcentury modern furnishings and rambling space. It serves its own beans, which are roasted in the neighborhood (that’s Oak Cliff), and with multiple rooms open to pick your perch, it’s easy to catch the right vibe. The team here likes to get creative with the seasonal specials, and this is easily one of the most interesting coffee menus in town. Look for drinks like the L.A. Mood (house-made horchata topped with a double shot of espresso) or the spiced pear chai. There are also light bakery-style bites and seating outside for when the weather is right." - Courtney E. Smith

"This coffee shop in a converted home in Oak Cliff is a scene. The backyard is full of folks and often has breakfast sandwiches going on the grill on weekends. The interior has multiple rooms to tuck into with fashionable decor. And the coffee is top notch." - Courtney E. Smith

Stopped by for the first time and I’m so glad I did! The coffee was amazing—super fresh and flavorful. They even offered a pup cup with real whipped cream for my dog, which was such a sweet touch. Friendly service, great atmosphere, and a new favorite spot for sure. Can’t wait to come back!

Google
Great aesthetics. Great coffee. The dirty chai was a little to chai for me to call it perfect but the espresso was perfectly pulled. Small shop that could have some traffic/line flow improvements but overall a place I'll be going back to. Lots of places to hang out and enjoy a fantastic espresso.

Google
Bright little coffee shop in a freestanding house. They have an extensive menu of options, several places to sit, and a shaded back porch. We enjoyed a cold brew and an Americano. They have a small free parking lot and there is free street parking nearby.

Google
Loved the atmosphere and staff are super friendly. Our wait time was a bit long but I'm attributing that to it being the weekend. The wait was definitely worth it. I tried the BFF drinking with Matcha and it was delicious.

Google
Had their Guava Matcha. Amazing taste! Great service! Definitely contends as best coffee in the area. Must have!

Google
Definitely the go to place for coffee in Elmwood. The baristas were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the community. Regular customers feel like family. I don't think I can say it's the best coffee I've ever had, but it's definitely one I would return for. The ambience was calm and collected, allowing you to hear your own thoughts. The open space and lighting give it cheerful vibes. Parking can be a bit of a struggle at times, but it's definitely worth stopping by. The breakfast croissants were absolutely delicious and 10/10 would recommend.

Google
We love Slow and Steady! From the excellent coffee to the great staff and also the very chill atmosphere. We come here on a regular basis because of it. Congratulations on bringing your coffee experience close to us!

Google
Zach brews a mean coffee…the staff is wonderful (very personable and pleasant), My order is the BFF with matcha and espresso (it’s very earthy so I ask them to make it sweet) The breakfast pastries are good and the space is cute but small Gave 4 stars just because there were alot of flies

Yelp
Slow and steady is quickly becoming a neighborhood staple and for good reasons. The coffee and atmosphere here Is amazing, not to mention the service!

Yelp
I came here on a rainy day. The parking is very small but there is neighborhood parking available. It's a very cute area. Inside has a nice slow pace feel, it doesn't feel like other coffee shops, people are just genuinely taking it slow here and it's nice. The customer service wasn't anything I'd rave about, the coffee was good. Not the best but I genuinely enjoyed the vibes here and would definitely come back on a rainy day just for the environment.

Yelp
Visited this location earlier today and ordered a 78224 iced latte and a chocolate croissant warmed. The barista was welcoming and helpful in choosing my order. The vibes were casual and relaxed with a more contemporary style. The latte was absolutely delicious, dare I say one of the best lattes I have ever had. The espresso had a well-balanced flavor, moderate acidity and boldness. The latte itself was perfectly balanced with condensed milk, whole milk, ice, and espresso allowing the flavor of the espresso and subtle sweetness of the condensed milk to shine. I ordered extra cinnamon which provided a delicious finishing touch. The croissant was good, but the chocolate was not melted and as a whole hd minimal flavor. I would definitely return for this latte and to try others, I would probably not reorder the croissant. Great place to hang out and get some work done.

Yelp
Great ambiance, nice staff, and great coffee! Clean and chic, this is a nice stop for those coming through town like me!

Yelp
First of all that CUSTOMER SERVICE?!?! I may have had a lil uh-oh moment and spilled my entire matcha all over and the baristas were kind enough to help me clean up the mess and remake my drink (even despite me offering to pay again). It's these types of acts of service that cannot go unnoticed and need to be addressed because an embarrassing moment turned into one that makes me want to come back again and again. My matcha was pretty good. Confirmed that Slow & Steady does use ceremonial grade matcha that is not sweetened! This is what you want in a coffee shop offering matcha! I resorted back to a go-to order of lavender matcha & it hit the spot for sure. The space was super cute and spacious, but I do wish there were more tables to sit at. That would further make this place a great spot to work at or bring a book to read. I would say this coffee shop is great currently for grab & go, or bringing a friend to chat. Definitely a must-visit in Dallas! Highly recommend!

Yelp
I've been here a few times now and really enjoy it! There is lots of parking - they have a small lot, but lots of street parking available in the neighborhood. The vibes are chill and great for hanging out or getting some work done! There is tons of seating - 2 small tables on the front porch, a "living room" seating area, and lots of seating in the "back yard". They also usually have a record on. The baristas are super friendly and always do a great job crafting the beverages! I first came thanks to the Dallasites coffee passport and enjoyed a hot LA Mood (horchata and espresso) and iced 75224 (shaken espresso, condensed milk, and cinnamon) - both were very yummy but the next time I came back I got the 75224 again since it was a slight favorite! I've also enjoyed their coconut foam cold brew a couple times (they have other flavors for the foam to choose from)! Overall, this spot is a great addition to the neighborhood and I would highly recommend stopping by to enjoy a beverage and small bite!

Yelp
love this place sm, perfect to go read a book or chill and study. ALSO... it's dog friendly make sure to try their vanilla slow rush, my favorite.

Kady L.

Yelp
cute gem in the neighborhood. love this place. it is pretty spacious. parking could possibly be troublesome at times. there was only one worker so the order/coffee took long. nonetheless the coffee was amazing. you can taste how fresh the beans are. got to finish my book here in the back room. people come and go so it can be noisy. would definitely come back

Marcy A.

Yelp
Staff and atmosphere of the little house is great! I got the pour over and it was delicious

Chalene F.

Yelp
Service was amazing. The vibe is great. It an old converted house. That makes for a comfortable spot to chill and work or just hang out. There is a backyard with yard games and in the fall is probably so nice to be in. Got an amazing honey latte and a good smoothie for my kids to share. The barista split into small cups so they could each have their own! Please go, you won't regret it.

Yelp
Love this new shop. They roast their own coffee, and the owner renovated this entire space themselves over the past year. I got a cortado and my wife got the dirty chai. Both were excellent and the space was so warm and welcoming. You can't live here but you'll want to.

Melissa M.

Yelp
This is such a cute and quaint place! Everything is so fresh and new with it being a new coffee house in South Dallas. The owners were there bright and early, and my goodness, they were so sweet and inviting. They even addressed me by name as I was leaving (they remembered my name when I gave my order)! The dirty chai latte was top notch, such a great way to start my day! I will come back again for sure!

Christine C.

Yelp
A beautiful coffee oasis in the oak cliff. Ordered the "slow rush" w/lavender...was delicious! A perfect balance of coffee and lavender. The croissant we ordered was amazing as well flaky, buttery the best I've had in Dallas!

Yelp
FOOD INSTAGRAM: @northtx.gemz **** WHAT THEY'RE KNOWN FOR: I believe this place just opened up a few months ago. They are built from a small house in a quaint neighborhood. Literally so many cute spaces to sit at. THE VIBE: friendliest baristas ever, they're so chill and hospitable. The inside is mostly for talking and socializing not really many spots to sit to work from a laptop. PRICE: free with my @101passports coffee passport! WOULD I COME BACK? Yes! **** Overall Rating: 10/10 - I'm so glad I discovered this place from my coffee passport and I really wish more people were talking about this place! They have almost 5 stars on google and Yelp! - The coffee I got had horchata as the milk and 2 shots of espresso and wow it was perfection. The coffee was roasted perfectly and it was not too sweet! Simply a great cup of iced coffee! - Baristas were great to mingle with and it was just a great vibe. - There's 4 parking spots to the left of the building, but you would need to park in the neighborhood if there's no parking which looked like what most people did anyways.

Yelp
Coffee is delicious, they roast their own beans and really care about their product. Their specialty lattes are my favorite. They have an Horchata Latte and if you like americanos their Yuzu Cano is so good! Plus they serve La Casita pastries so yum! They have seating inside and outside. Oh there's also an outdoor ping pong table.

Vero M.

Yelp
Great little home in the wall, they recently renovated I was told to add patio seating small but cozy. Drinks were good, didn't have anything else. They do have there own merch which is cool! Service was great, staff friendly and knowledgeable.

Carolina A.

Yelp
Popped in here because they were the only coffeehouse around open on Thanksgiving day and so glad I did -- great staff, great coffee (plus a small case of pastries), great vibe. You're really in the Elmwood neighborhood when you're here but the large lot and view of the main street make it feel like the best of both worlds. There's a parking area with 3 spots for convenience and a cute little window seat inside plus a small porch with a bistro table. Will definitely be putting it in regular rotation for a grab and go stop!

Alejandro P.

Yelp
Great spot in Elmwood for coffee. The shop is minimal and cozy! The service is amazing. Would recommend you check it out if you haven't. There's not much seating inside but there are a couple spots in the backyard and a little table out front.

John G.

Yelp
The super food options are underrated ! Friendly staff that are very knowledgeable about their menu. The overall vibe is great, with the option to chill inside, bask under the sun in the back/front yard. Get a vanilla cap ! You won't be disappointed.

DN A.

Yelp
I got LA coffee, expensive $7.5 for a small coffee that did not even taste good. Do yourself a favor, drive a bit further to B side, they are always busy, better ambiance, better price, better coffee, and friendly customer service.

Alison S.

Yelp
Delicious coffee, professional, kind, and engaging staff, and apart from the small seating area the place is warm, comfortable, and welcoming. So glad Slow and Steady is in Elmwood.

Diego R.

Yelp
Love the ambiance and the comforting scent of coffee. My Doppio Macchiato was spot on and my almond croissant delicious! Really nice place to work or enjoying hanging out with a some friends. I appreciate the attentive, friendly and courteous service.

Christina T.

Yelp
Best coffee shop on the block! Friendly, honest staff and shop has nice vibes and great esthetics.

Janet G.

Yelp
Coffee was great and so was the service! I got "The LA Mood" and it was delicious. Everything was decorated nicely and inviting. Will definitely be back (:

Norma S.

Yelp
Best baristas in town!!! Go get poured the best cup of coffee here! (my favorite spot to journal, too.)
