Slow Burn Hot Chicken - Hendersonville

Joyce is fantastic and very personable! The house made ranch is out of this world!!! The fried okra is amazingly delicious. My tenders were perfectly seasoned and spicy. Expected more from the coleslaw but still wasn’t bad. A little too much mayonnaise base for my liking, needs some vinegar in it. Good bang for your buck at Slow Burn! My total was $12 even for a 3 tender combo with drink and 2 sides.

Let me say that this hot chicken easily takes the #1 spot for current hot chicken places in Nashville and the surrounding areas. In all my hot chicken experiences, this is second only to my very first hot chicken experience at the original Prince’s location. That is how good this place is. The chicken is absolutely excellent. Moist, juicy chicken is fried so well and is extremely crispy. Crispiest chicken I’ve ever had! The seasoning is also incredible, with tons of flavor infused in the breading. For spice levels, we went with the Slow Burn level (which is their “hot”). We could have easily done another level or 2 higher as this wasn’t that spicy. We got their half chicken option for $10, and this was an insane amount of chicken! We also got their hot chicken burrito. This was really good, but personally the half chicken itself is much better! It is a long wait for food even with no line. It took us about 35-40 minutes when we were one of only 2 groups in the restaurant. The wait is worth it though! Overall this was an excellent hot chicken spot that will now become a regular whenever I’m in the area.

I was hoping to be blown away with the other reviews, but I wasn’t. To start the cashier should know the menu. I asked if the fritter was enough to be a meal or more of a side. She stated it was a snack so I ordered the chicken and waffles as well. I wish I knew better, the fritter was huge with 2 tenders so I over-ordered. The fritter had amazing flavor, but was super greasy. The waffle was served in a plastic to go container so it was soggy. The flavor on the chicken was good, but could’ve had more heat. We got the hottest on the menu and it didn’t compare to other local Nashville hot like Hattie’s or 400 Degrees. The crispiness of the chicken was perfect. The mac and cheese was full of pepper flavor and super tasty. Fries were super crispy and had the perfect amount of salt. The tater tots had a weird taste enough to make them inedible. Prices were great for the amount of food you receive.

Went here based on Facebook comments. Clean establishment Clean bathrooms Friendly cashier, she was helpful in explaining hotness and sauces. I ordered fried okra, and 4 chicken tender meal with “sprinkle” spice level. It was perfect for me. My son ordered 12 piece chicken bites meal with southern spicy (mild) with fries. He said spice had kick but it was delicious. My sister tried the nashville hot chicken was very hot. She said it started out fine but 30 sec in got hotter and her lips were burning but she liked being able to try it. Overall we will most definitely be back! Food was fresh, temperature was hot, clean and lots of flavor.

Super tasty classic southern food & a few options for vegetarians with meat alternatives! The Mac & Cheese bowls were delicious and I loved that there were lots of seating options to choose from so you could pick your own spice level. Service was pretty slow, but still worth going!

This is an excellent Nashville Hot Chicken joint. I love places like this with cooked to order food that’s original. Their chicken is well cooked, juicy, and offers many different heat levels. I really like the flavor, not just the heat. Heat without flavor is a joke. I would recommend Slow Burn to anyone that would like real Nashville Hot Chicken. The atmosphere is down to earth, the staff is friendly and helpful. This is a local place with a local feeling. Plenty of space. The food is awesome, but be prepared to wait a little bit. They cool to order and that can take a while longer than you’re used to at a chain fried chicken place. Very much worth the wait. You get hot and fresh. What more could you want?

The younger woman behind the counter had lack luster mannerisms about her, not unprofessional but the feeling of her not wanting to be there. The inside of the store is comforting and looks inviting, the rest of the staff was very pleasant. The food was really good. We got 2x 3 tender meals as they couldn't mix heat levels, medium and Nashville hot. Wanted to try the other heat levels The tenders were seasoned well and cooked to perfection- the heat levels were just right but the honey BBQ dipping sauce was a winner too. Fries were fresh,crispy and delicious. Would go back there again when in Nashville

Great local place that I predict will only get better with time. I have a 2-piece bone-in with Singe heat (I think that was the one, it was "Medium"...great spice, not overwhelming heat...just right). I'm not a true hot chicken fan after a traumatic incident at Prince's 17 years ago....LOL - (I survived, but just barely!) Anyhow - supply chain issues are hitting everyone....the soda fountain was "out" - out of syrup on most flavors and out of gas. Luckily the lemonade worked and it was just fine. If I'd wanted a soda I'd have run to Sonic. My sides were coleslaw and fried okra. The coleslaw was good - everyone makes it different and this was heavy on the mayo, celery seed, and pretty sure I tasted lemon juice in there - but it was darn good. The okra came out piping hot, and I got lucky on the chicken - they had a couple extra pieces ready to go so it came out quick. I was perfectly willing to wait the 20 minutes, though - perfection takes time. The chicken was in a box on a slice of white bread - to soak up all the goodness. They included about half a dozen napkins and I needed 'em all! Good stuff - I'll be back. I don't generally say much about prices - but theirs are a bit too cheap! My meal was $12.00, drink included. I'll be back!
