Expensive cocktails, yes, but they are expertly crafted and delicious. The vibe is a lot of fun, you can certainly have a conversation with company. The staff a also very attentive. Get the delicious burger to accompany the cocktails.

Google
The drinks here are complex and come in interesting glasses but they taste pretty much like any other cocktail drink in a "Trendy" manhattan bar. The wait staff was excellent and the atmosphere is nice. It is also quaint how you have to go through the happiest hour to get to them and they share a bathroom. You can have an intimate conversation here, which is more than you can say for most places. So do bring a date and try everything, it is worth experiencing once.

Google
Definitely head downstairs if you're looking for nice cocktails in a more classy atmosphere. The Jump Up Jamaica and the Chinatown Daiquiri are superb! Some of their drinks are pricey but its worth it for the amazing flavor playoff.

Amazing speakeasy, very well thought design! Loved the cocktails(try the champagne & strawberry cocktail), service is impeccable! Will be back - Dimitris

Had a company holiday party here, great space and servers were all amazing. Burgers from upstairs were delish, drinks all very good.

Best hamburger of my life with amazing well thought and deeply inspired cokctails in NYC. Lovely place with amazing people!

Google
Such a treat. One of the better tended bars in the city; highly recommend sitting at the bar with Sweeney and his motley crew. Otherwise, make a reservation for a table in advance (it can get a bit packed from prime evening to late night. Chips and dip are worth a try if you need a little snack to.

We went on a Saturday night and waited approximately 45 minutes for a spot, which is totally okay for such a popular bar. When the host was leading us to our seats a fire broke out in the bar and we were told to wait it out since it shouldn't take long to resolve. Unfortunately, they couldn't resume serving for the night after firefighters came to sort it out. We had to come back another night. But a good customer experience isn't necessarily a successful experience. Our host noticed that we waited through the night for a table, so he told Ernesto (manager?) that we'd been waiting. We got free drinks at The Happiest Hour on the first floor for that. Well handled, and we'll definitely return for another try!

Yelp
Pretty solid for happy hour! *no pun intended. Came here after work to try their happiest meal, and I would said their classic burger is better than the smash. The meal comes with a cocktail from their list, shoestring fries, and an adorable burger keychain. The troublemaker cocktail was a good pick! The burgers are nothing special, so don't be expecting much. Nice for a good catchup spot with friends!

Yelp
I had such a great time here on Saturday with my friends for a galentines gathering. I was super stressed out because the reservations I had at another establishment were cancelled, I had to scramble to find another spot to accommodate a group of 6, last minute during what seemed like a blizzard outside lol. Luckily the host Seth greeted me and was able to squeeze me in at a table despite a full house and a private party happening up front. He truly saved the night with his flexibility & kindness. Our server who I believe was named Sofia was incredibly kind and accommodating. We were there for a while and she checked on us often and made sure we had everything we needed. There's a great cocktail selection & the food was really good. All of us got burgers but I really wasn't expecting it to be one of the best burgers and fries I've had in the city. I'd probably come back for that alone. As the night progressed the Dj played a mix of music and it was such a fun vibe throughout the space. Even the security guards were kind and helping people navigate through the packed room. Such a great night and memories made at The Happiest Hour, can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Stopped by here because I had heard about the adult happy meal, which is an insane deal! The only resv available was at 4:30, so it was an early meal. I didn't realize this place had a bottom floor, but it was super dark. I got the adult happy meal with a smash burger and fries. I honestly should've asked for double meat, but it the menu was unclear whether that was extra or not. The smash burger was good, but kind of greasy. The fries were crispy and thin. Overall, it was a good deal for a meal.

Sarah P.

Yelp
If you need a deal, this is a good one. I mean who can beat $22 for a burger, fries and a drink? I love these type of fries, they are my favorite type of fry texture, almost like the have a coating. The burger, both the smash and regular are about the size of a MCD's burger but (better). Normally I'm fairly disappointed when it comes to fried Mac and cheese but the jalapeño ranch comes in to give these fun little fried balls a little pop. The cocktails were pretty good and I loved the atmosphere in general. I came with a few friends and we all agreed that we would return in the future. Service was ok, it was pretty busy. They forgot (or possibly misheard?) and forgot to put in one burger but they didn't really try to apologize for the mistake, which was a little odd. This still didn't dampen the vibe though.

Alexa T.

Yelp
This place is nothing special. But shoutout to the bouncer at the front - he was super nice and took pictures for my friends and I. We shared: - pitchers of the summer smash cocktail (tequila) - loaded tater tots: these were really good and my favorite thing we got - happy Caesar salad: this was pretty good and a large portion to share - the happiest smash (double) - fried chicken sandwich: I liked this but I've had better fried chicken sandwiches

Yelp
The Happiest Hour is a beautiful, unique bar/restaurant situated right by the triangle park on a corner I'm sure many people are familiar with. Coming here for our burger fix is a core memory of solid joy for me. My BFF and I have been coming to the Happiest Hour for years to have their very legit and amazing burger. This is easily one of the cheesiest, gooeyist and juiciest burger in town. Dipping sauces are always phenomenal and pair so well with the burger. Their shoestring fries are to die for and always perfectly salted. The last time we went we also ordered the fried chicken bites which were very good although I will say they could use some pizzazz like a dipping sauce or seasoning on top. On weekends the bar area is packed through the door. I have heard the cocktails here are great but never personally tried them. The tropical decor is so funky and I love the vibes overall. Service is always great, they always top up your water and check on you. Definitely come by here to get your burger fix!!

Yelp
Walked in after it opened at 3pm on Saturday, and the bar was already filled. It's definitely a popular place. Our group of 4 managed to walk in and get 2 little tables with 4 stools. The tables have little hooks under. The bathrooms always seemed to have a line and got messy quickly. We got carafes of the Pineapple Express and Down to Kokomo. The Pineapple Express tasted better in my opinion. It got busy, but servers were nice and refilled our water. Sometimes it was hard to get their attention. Overall, it was a cute but very busy tiki bar.

Brianna D.

Yelp
Awesome spot to grab a drink before dinner and/ or to start the night! Cute retro ambiance. Attentive service. I haven't tried their food.

Dipali G.

Yelp
This was a bar in the west village that essentially provides adult happy meals! The food was good! I ordered a veggie burger which was fine. The regular burgers seemed enjoyable to most people at my table. The quality didn't look that great. Service: they forgot my order so we were waiting for a really long time. But they gave us shots afterwards as a way to apologize which was nice Ambience: solid spot with ample seating!

Johnny N.

Yelp
This was the first time I've been in here not ROCKED off a few Henny apple juices or Tequila sodas, as we had a work happy hour here. It was a welcomed change. This place becomes a warzone on the weekends, so you can imagine my culture shock walking in here at 5:30pm on a Tuesday and seeing it completely empty. I would imagine this would be how Maximus from Gladiator would have felt if he walked through an empty Roman colosseum... They had an on tap old fashion, which I thought was a mortal sin but upon trying it it was pretty solid. I'll try anything once. I followed this up with a glass of chilled red wine because I am a man of culture. For food, I was going at those wings like they owed me money. When you from where I'm from every plate is getting CLEANED. A great crisp on the outer shell of the wing without being over-fried. Nice. The only negative is that our manager came in the next day and kept talking about how expensive the happy hour was, so it must have been a TICKET. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__

Yelp
As you may have read, despite the false advertising of its name, The Happiest Hour manages to live up to its reputation of hosting sceney- weekend night ragers, when the West Village hordes arrive to flirt and dance around their long bar. On a surprisingly laid back Friday night, my party found room to breathe while we sipped on our well-made cocktails. With no corporate happy hour in sight on this Friday night, we were able to secure prime real estate by their banquettes and by the bar area. There was a great DJ when I went, and the place somehow avoided reaching claustrophobic levels that this place is usually known for. Of course the place skewed more bro-y than my usual haunts, but I found it surprisingly unagressive. So for once, no false advertising at the Happiest Hour.

Zoe L.

Yelp
Been here for happy hour and also late night drinks. Overall the bar has a nice vibe, the decor is very 70s-esque with fun disco balls and big bar. Takes reservations but with a cancellation fee. I did the happy hour deal where you get a burger, fries, and a drink all for $22. A pretty good deal, but I found the veggie burger to be a little soggy and fall apart. I don't usually get veggie burgers-I was just in a mood to try it-so it could just be that's how most veggie burgers are. Overall not the best deal, but not bad for a fun night with friends! We unfortunately had a waiter who was a little moody and sassy, but it didn't take away from the fun. My friends love their espresso martinis (not included in happy hour deal, there are select drinks for that) and they are filled to the brim! Overall a nice place to try for an older, cool vibe and happy hour deals, but I would not go if you're looking for the food in particular.

Yelp
WISH I COULD RATE LESS THAN 1 STAR Me and my sister were so excited to try a happiest meal as 25 and 23 year olds and women of color. The hostess was bizarre to say the least. She (a young woman of color who was probably the same age as us) let a white couple just sit and then stopped us asking for our ids, which we're used to. Long story short she told us they were fake because i didn't remember my old zip code from years ago. The crazy thing is my sister was able to recite her full address and the hostess still was very rude about it. Both Ids were real IDs with the star and everything. Mine was a california id with the star which is hard to fake. Wish we would've asked for a manager. and the bar was empty. just such weird, rude, and probably internally racist energy. I think the hostess can use more training on service and genuinely being able to tell what's a real id and what's fake. or get a light that can tell if it's real. I've gotten into clubs and casinos with that VERY REAL ID. So weird.

Lynnette V.

Yelp
Pretty venue but Terrible and rude service. Drinks aren't that good but very expensive. We really wanted to have a good time here but the staff was so nasty with us exclaiming "we aren't participating in Santa con" - we weren't either but didn't feel the need to be treated so terribly.

Ani M.

Yelp
Atmosphere is amazing! Great meal + drink deals. We came for a friend's birthday and they saw on the ID without us telling them and gave us free tiramisu shots. Amazing vibe and owner clearly cares. Come here for a good time and good drinks!

Sanjana D.

Yelp
Great vibes! The service was so good. The bouncer is extremely friendly, the staff is super attentive, and the vibes inside are awesome. The DJ was cool and I liked the decor. My drink was also good.

Hannah C.

Yelp
came here at the rec of a friend, the happiest hour combo was a deal in itself. good vibes, be warned burger kinda small lol (think happy meal, unironically)

Kristen R.

Yelp
Stopped in on a Friday night during happy hour. Veggie Burger and tots were delicious, great happy hour deals, awesome tunes, friendly staff. No complaints.

Akela J.

Yelp
Ok so this place was super cute. The decorations were beautiful and it was spacious and lively enough to feel comfortable without removing the Manhattan late night bar feel. Our server was super friendly and very helpful and took her time explaining her recommendations off the menu and she didnt miss because Im not a huge fan of tater tots but theseeeee tater tots are next level I definitely recommend. The drinks were also very flavorful and overall its a place I would definitely go back to if I want some fun music and a quick bite

Alicia D.

Yelp
Maori, Carlos and Dan have excellent service as I mentioned it was my birthday- he made some delicious shots for me! It's my second time to New York and my first visit to the happiest hour and I dare say it won't be my last. The espresso martini was my favorite and I will be coming back for another on my next visit.

Cristina D.

Yelp
This place is a really cool and really fun vibe with amazing decor that is great for a night out with friends. I can't speak for the food as that is not something I have tried yet, but I can speak for the cocktails--and this place has a LOT of them. The variety of cocktails here is insane and the quality is even better! The bartenders are really on their game, helpful, and quick and they make very balanced and delicious drinks with incredible presentation. I will be back and definitely recommend this place for anyone who is a fan of fun night out spots and delish cocktail bars!

Ryan R.

Yelp
Terrible service. Bouncer thought my 23 year old ID was fake. Absolutely absurd and ridiculous. Terrible attitude, terrible customer service, terrible crowd, terrible music. DO NOT GO!!

Caitlin B.

Yelp
I made a reservation but they did not have a table for us. Luckily only half my party showed so they found a small spot to stick us in. Prices are high for this kind of bar but the food and drinks were great.

Eunnice L.

Yelp
I used to love this place but the service has gone down significantly. We got served the wrong burger and instead of getting the proper meal, I was told I would have to order another one, while still paying for the wrong burger..... we noticed immediately when the plate was put down (did not touch or bite the food). Huge bummer.

Amber P.

Yelp
Not only is this restaurant gorgeous the service, the staff was more then amazing . If u want a great night out go on a Tuesday reggae all Night. The bartender serves up the best cocktails. Everyone is so friendly very accommodating. I can't wait until the weather breaks to enjoy a summer night in this establishment

Quandra T.

Yelp
Stumbled across this place on a whim with a girlfriend and I'm so happy I did! VERY cute decor. I got this drink with lavender in it because any time I see a drink on the menu with lavender or pear, I go for it. I don't see it on the online menu, but this drink was as DELICIOUS as I expected it to be. Also, the BONSAI CHICKEN BITES? PERFECTLY crispy on the outside, juicy inside, well seasoned, with a mayo dipping cup on the side, this place secretly knows how to do chicken WELL. And to top it off, the bartenders were SO friendly and personable, this place was just great vibes. I have to come back for more of this chicken and because they also had an Arnold Palmer with iced tea, lemonade, and vodka, which is also one of my favorite drinks. These cocktail makers here got SKILLS.

Yelp
Date: Friday, March 24th, 2023 Time: around 10pm Group of: approx 5 Second stop on a bar crawl of sorts. My group started upstairs by the bar. It was Friday, so rather crowded. Took a bit to grab a drink. I'd been drinking a fair amount all day into night, so decided to switch it up and just drink light beers the rest of the night. So I grabbed a Bud Light along with two of my girlfriends. Vibe was a little restaurant turned clubby bar at night. I didn't actually explore the upstairs area as we stayed in the same place by the bar. We did end up going downstairs which was definitely more chill. (I have no idea how one gets down there as it's roped off with a bouncer. I just followed one of my gfs down there.) Places to sit and talk and actually hear each other. In my old age, that's more my scene. Lol! Cute clubby-esque bar upstairs, but I definitely prefer the chill vibe downstairs.

Julia M.

Yelp
please beware of this place. I was there on a Saturday night and someone slipped something in my drink. I don't know who it was but I reported it to the police and they told me that they have a lot of reports of theft of phones, wallets, purses from here.

Elizabeth X.

Yelp
Came in for one drink on a Saturday night - cute spot and they were playing the BEST 80s music. Drinks are good. Really enjoyed the mai tai. Good for big groups but you'd probably want to make a reservation. We were a walk-in of 2 and had to stand at the bar. It's pretty loud but that was the vibe. Would come back to try other happy hour deals on weekdays for sure.

Jackie K.

Yelp
Came here on a Wednesday and it was packed. Made a reservation in advance which I'm glad about. The disco ball was going and it was extremely loud. Had to shout for hours. The staff were nice. Only one bathroom so there was a line the whole night. The loaded tater tots and Mac n cheese bites were good. Not a big portion on the Mac. Much bigger portion for the tater tots. I would go back.

Morgan S.

Yelp
Got the happiest meal deal including the smash burger + hi ball cocktail and the burger was amazing! There was a lot of crispy fries and we had an amazing server Stephanie! The place has nice vibes overall

Chelsea N.

Yelp
I can't speak of their food, but had drinks here with friends around 3pm on a Saturday. It was crowded, but the bartenders were very efficient and we didn't wait long for mixed drinks. They serve carafes of their signature cocktails, which were all delicious! My favorite had mint and cucumber. The decor was definitely my vibe, which was had tropical decor, disco balls, and awesome lighting

Mabel H.

Yelp
The happy hour deal (burger, fries, and drink) for $22 is a great deal- the food and drinks were good and you even get a little keychain with your meal. It does get a little crowded and loud but still manageable!

Morgan B.

Yelp
Māori and Carlos are a vibe! Highly recommend the Happiest Hour for a fantastic experience!

Stephanie C.

Yelp
Amazing juicy smash burgers and def a vibe! My favorite time to come are saturdays around 4 PM, the place will be packed but still comfortable to move around. A social crowd with cute cocktails and their minty espresso martini are very popular. Throughout the year this place has tiki summer vibes and they decorate beautifully for Christmas. Would recommend to meet new people, date night downstairs, or to grab a quick burger

Chloe E.

Yelp
The girl bouncer was extremely rude and racist. We were willing to pay the $10 cover and were just chit chatting amongst each other and she was telling us we wouldn't be allowed in after doing nothing. If there is a cover here it's absolutely not worth it. She was so rude I will not be back here ever again.

Tamara M.

Yelp
Random find for me after work. The vibes were upbeat , staff had jokes and the cocktail I had was delicious . perfect cooldown for a long day . It wasn't crowded at the bar .I left happy!

Gloria R.

Yelp
Skip this restaurant. After placing my drink and food order I was asked to pay my bill with a 20% tip. The food was average at best.

Jason K.

Yelp
wandered here on a Monday night and this bar hit the spot vibes were on point - not too crowded, music was good but not too loud that I couldn't talk. Def wanna come back on a weekend bc I imagine it'll be a lot of fun Drinks were solid too great night! $10 martinis on Monday night and my gf did not hesitate on the opportunity!

Katarina L.

Yelp
I am loving the vibe here! Think.... tiki bar with a disco ball. Cool x10. I want to bring friends here, dates here, there really is no bad occasion. They have booths, high tops, I've been here a few times on weeknights for after work drink and weekends for after brunch drinks and it's usually never without some crowd. I'd make a reservation if you are looking to get a table, otherwise I believe you can just hang out at the bar no problem. I've only ever had the drinks here but they've always been a hit! I got the Pineapple express with mezcal here on my last visit and plan to get it for the rest of my visits forever... it was so great. I switched it up with a spicy marg for the next round but I just missed my pineapple express. They have a section of their drink menu where they give you all the ingredients, you just pop in what kind of alcohol you'd like. Loved that! You can stick to the same liquor all night and still mix up your cocktail choices. I will come here again and probably again after that. A very cool spot in the west village for sure.

Hannah M.

Yelp
I had heard great things about the burger here but was very underwhelmed. I ordered the burger ($15) with fries ($4) and the boneless chicken wings ($12). First off, we placed an order for pickup and preordered about 30 minutes later, and it was ice cold when we got it. I'm convinced they made it the second it came through. Despite being cold, the fries were good and a solid portion for the price paid. The burger was phenomenal but was about 3x as much as it should be. Like, it tasted like shake shack. I would have liked it a lot had I paid $7 for it, but for $15....hard pass. The Buffalo boneless chicken wings were horrendous. You know the chicken you get from the Chinese restaurants that are rated like 1 star on Yelp? Imagine that in the worse Buffalo sauce you've ever had dipped in watered down ranch and you've got it. Waste of $12. All in all, I'm a hard pass on the food. Save your money and go to shake shack.

Katherine N.

Yelp
the setting Is pretty BUT there Is SO MUCH DUSTTTTT. My nose and throat was acting up! Every where I looked there was DUST! i also felt nauseous after eating there chicken sandwich!! the service was nice and the hostess was beautiful inside and out!

Ellen C.

Yelp
Cute spot, drinks aren't too expensive for NY either. They also have some specials throughout the week. Would recommend!

Sarah K.

Yelp
Awful establishment. I had an employee be blatantly racist towards me out of nowhere, which was such a shocking and disgusting experience. The food was also very much not fresh.

Hope Z.

Yelp
great place for drinks & food! we had burgers and cocktails (the highball and the troublemaker were both delicious). everything was great and our server stephanie was so friendly and wonderful too!

Sucheta B.

Yelp
Came here on Thursday night for drinks with friends. It was packed! (As can probably be expected for a nice WV bar on a Thursday). My favorite part of their menu is they have some base "mixes" and you pick your liquor. I got the mule kick with mezcal which was a good combo and my friends got the Pineapple Express with tequila. Great vibes and would return!

Arielle C.

Yelp
Carlos is the absolute best ever. Loveeee this place so much. He's so much and the music slaps

Katy C.

Yelp
Nate and I popped in to The Happiest Hour for a quick drink with a friend before dinner at Olio e Piu nearby. It was already pretty hopping at around 6:45 pm on a Thursday, but we were seated right away by the windows in front. I got a vodka/cucumber/lime drink (Maid to Order) that was super refreshing and balanced. We only got one round of drinks, but the food smelled great and their burger deal was something I'd come back for. The music they were playing was awesome, a great playlist of covers, beachy tunes, and good jams without being kitschy and annoying. The best part is that when the bill came out, it included a sweet postcard and an awesome, retro-looking pen. I asked our server if I could buy one of the pens and they just gave me three of them. I love a little souvenir keepsake like that! The postcard shows the city skyline in the background of a beach with palm trees, in keeping with the beachy vibes of this place. I loved this spot and would definitely go back for another cocktail and a burger.

Allie G.

Yelp
Really cute bar, not the fastest service! We stumbled upon this bar on a Saturday afternoon and got seated immediately. I ordered a Moscow Mule (which was very well made) and then we got some mac & cheese bites, buffalo cauliflower, and buffalo wings. Everything was pretty good for bar food, but the sauce that both the wings and cauliflower came with was a bit watered down. The service was a little on the slower side, and we thought a place called The Happiest Hour may have daily happy hour specials (nothing on weekends), but definitely a good bar option in the area!
