Slows Bar BQ Grand Rapids

After eating with this company for 10+ years, I will no longer return. The quality of this food has dropped off beyond excuse. Prices stay the same, however good servings are 1/4 of the size. There was no excuse given, and when asking for a manager, they were too busy to acknowledge me as a customer. Not an apology or a simple 30 second conversation about the food I had just spend $60+ on. you’re given more butter than bread. This food is nowhere close to the par of this restaurant. Attached are pictures of the $4!!!! Corn bread, and half empty, dry Mac and cheese containers that are no where close to a portion I’ve EVER gotten from this place. If there is new management or ownership, please tidy up, this has been my families favorite place to eat. I would hope for communication for ownership after my poor experience.

I haven't been to slows since before the pandemic. A concert road trip brought me to a slows I've never been to but the quality didn't change one bit. I couldn't decide if I wanted The Reason or The Yardbird.....so I got both! I'm still full as I write this, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. The service was very good and the atmosphere was nice. Slows has some of the best bbq you'll find and absolutely worth the pilgrimage from Canada any day of the week! I will be back as often as I can!

We had Slows cater our September 2022 wedding cocktail hour and dinner at Downtown Market, and they were amazing to work with! The food was hot, delicious and we got so many compliments. They worked with us on vegan/vegetarian options for guests, identified allergens, and tailored the menu to fit our needs. Nic was very responsive in any questions we had and the staff was efficient in making sure everyone was well fed in a timely manner. Highly recommend if you are looking for a unique and delicious wedding food experience!

Are you looking for good, down home BBQ in Grand Rapids, then Slows BBQ is the place! We enjoyed the Brisket, Chicken Wings, and Apple Glazed Chicken. The wings are the bomb! Brisket is soft and moist. Definitely worth the walk and the service was fast.

I lived in TX for two years, so I'm pretty picky when it comes to BBQ. Slow's does not disappoint. The portions are huge, and the meat just falls apart in your mouth. The staff are super attentive and very polite. Five stars.

They have a great location! It is inside the downtown market so there are plenty of places to check out before or after the meal. The restaurant is very clean and trendy. The service was excellent and the food was good. We got the the big 3 which is 1/4 pound of apple barbecue chicken, pulled pork and beef brisket. We really liked the Apple barbecue sauce! We also got a side of waffle fries. There were enough fries in there to share so you get your moneys worth out of them. There was enough food to share between my husband and I. The prices on the menu are a little high but equivalent to other barbecue places. I highly recommend everyone checking this place out at least once.

Burnt ends are phenomenal. Corn dodgers are the same, only the sauce for them was not to my liking. I subbed in the Apple sauce. The brisket tacos are very good. They are generously filled. Only drawback is they can be wet and soak through the bottom of the tortillas. Also wouldn't mind a flour tortilla offered for them. The wife had the all American sandwich and she liked it. Was generously filled with brisket slices.

We chose Slows BBQ to cater our wedding. Our meal that we shared with guests was amazing! Slows really came through with providing a quality dinner! We had planned our wedding from out of state and Kelsey did a wonderful job communicating to us. All of our needs were met and our expectations exceeded! Still receiving complements on the dinner. Thank you, job well done!
