Try baniza, bagels, pies, pizza, ramen, and more at Downtown’s new Vegas Test Kitchen | Eater Vegas

"I experienced chef Lanny Chin’s three-month residency with Slurp Society, where he’s testing a menu that includes tankatsu ramen, miso ramen, maze-men, his Chin family egg rolls, sticky pork belly, and chili garlic wontons; Chin, a Chopped winner who was chef de cuisine for The Slanted Door at the Forum Shops at Caesars and Greene St. Kitchen at the Palms, spent the pandemic doing pop-up dinners at DW Bistro and is using this residency to try his dishes with a wider audience before deciding whether to open his own restaurant — diners can order his dishes for takeout or dine in from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays." - Susan Stapleton

Google
First time dining at Slurp Society. Charming atmosphere and exceptionally friendly staff. Thank you Megan for being patient with all of our requests. We all appreciated your professionalism and assistance. The food...amazing! We started with the Crab Rangoon Nachos. They were quickly devoured! Main entrees were the Ramen... each made to order and just as wonderful as the Nachos. Also had the PewPew Shrimp and Fiery Char-Izard Bao with a side of Miso Hungry Fried Rice. All were packed with amazing flavors to savor. We WILL be repeat customers. Highly recommend!!!

The service was great, very attentive and the atmosphere was chill and relaxing. But the ramen itself was not my favorite. The broth was not what I expected, it was too sour with various pickled items in the bowls. The presentation was great, the portions too but like i said it really wasn't' my thing.

Google
A very unique and neat place to eat at. Iv been to Japan and have had the pleasure of eating real Japanese food. The ramen here is authentic and very delicious. Although I will say, it was a challenge trying to go. At the time they had odd operating hours and I think they moved locations. But i think that is resolved now.

Gumbo dumplings 50/10, Laughing lemonade 10/10, Golden lotus 20/10, Takeout egg rolls 10/10, Battleship curry 20/10. I brought my mom here and we had a great time and loved the gumbo dumplings so much we got 4 orders to go. I don’t know what people are talking about when it comes to the noodles but I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT and so did mom.

I LOVED the atmosphere and staff here... SIMPLY AMAZING! The crawfish rangoons, brussel sprouts, nachos, and fried chicken were great. I was impressed with the number of truly gluten-free options and that they have separate cooking areas to prevent cross-contamination. 2 of us ordered the build-your-own ramen. It was flavorless even with multiple add-ins. I was terribly disappointed and that makes me not trust ordering anything that I don't already know is good 😔 I would go back in a group and be careful what I order.

Google
First time trying slurp society Asian eats & drinks, I honestly think its overpriced for what you get for the money. The noodles/ broth lack flavors everything tastes so bland, mine was suppose to be spicey but had no spice and be prepared to wait the first time they gave our food to another table so it added time more wait time. We got there at 6:40pm and finally left by 9:30pm

Service and atmosphere are great. Sadly, I can't say the same for the Ramen. The Bao Buns were very delicious and definitely the highlight of this experience. The Kaarage was good. However, we all ordered the Spicy Red Miso Ramen which looked amazing but tasted disappointing. I didn't taste any deep spice flavors or miso and none of the toppings really worked together. We all found that the jalapenos, pickled onions and kimchi didn't really make the Ramen any better so we just removed them. And the pork portions were small for the price. This is definitely Asian "Fusion" it is not authentic Ramen by any means. If you're looking for an authentic flavorful Japanese broth, I can not say you will find it here.

Google
I had a coworker recommend this place. I decided to give it a try. I ordered ramen with pork broth, miso, roasted mushrooms, grilled shrimp, tofu, udon noodles, black garlic oil, and chilli oil. It was honestly amazing, I absolutely loved it. I'm not sure how they got the tofu so flavorful, tofu is usually kind of bland. Definitely will eat here again.

Yelp
Do not sleep on this AMAZING place! We ordered JSC (fried chicken w/ 3 sauces) & Ramen Bowl! Both SO delicious & full of flavor. Huge shout out to our server Becker! So patient & kind. He made sure the kitchen was ready for our GF order & helped us build an awesome Ramen Bowl. I've seen post on here saying that the Ramen Bowls was bland & no flavor... well considering YOU build your own bowl, I'm not sure how you blame the restaurant. We will return! Thank you Becker!

Yelp
Absolutely terrible service. We were one of the only tables in the restaurant--we were just a two-top, with a few other small parties scattered around--so it was baffling that it took 20 minutes just to place a drink and appetizer order. Not exactly a busy night. We ordered the Brussels sprouts to start. They were crispy and had good potential, but there was barely any aioli on them, which made the dish feel incomplete and unsatisfying. My boyfriend got the Laughing Lemonade--tasty, but small for $10. I ordered a mocktail, the Dirty Redbull with lychee, and was genuinely excited to try it. But I never even got the drink. It simply never came, and no one followed up so I unfortunately can not say anything about that drink. Our server, Tara, was rushing us from the moment she finally did come over--pushing to take drink, app, and entree orders all at once, even after we politely asked for a bit more time. When we got our build-your-own ramen bowls, they were delicious, but the oils were swapped--mine had chili oil when I requested garlic, and my boyfriend's bowl had no spice when he asked for chili. I didn't mind the heat, but he was visibly disappointed and wanted to ask for chili oil to fix it. Too bad our server never came back. No "How's everything tasting?", no "Can I get you anything else?", no check-ins at all until it was time to bring the check--by which point we had already been waiting 10 extra minutes post-meal, visibly done and clearly irritated. We watched her check on every other table but ours multiple times. I truly hate not leaving a tip, especially because I work in the service industry myself. But this was the worst service I've ever received. Zero acknowledgment, rushed attitude, incorrect orders, and being completely ignored. This was my third time here--and unfortunately, even under new management, it's consistently disappointing. Tara, if you're reading this, please know: ignoring a table because they "look young" or you assume they won't tip is the fastest way to guarantee you won't get one. We didn't even get a greeting or your name--we only found it on the receipt. Do better.

Yelp
The service was absolutely wonderful--warm, attentive, and welcoming throughout our visit! Since the restaurant recently launched a new menu, we were excited to try several of the new offerings. 1. Gumbo Dumplings - The flavor of the gumbo filling was spot on and true to expectations. However, the dumplings themselves were a bit dry. The accompanying sauce was essential and brought the dish together. For future iterations, a preparation method like pan-searing or steaming might help improve the texture. 2. Brussels Sprouts - These were a standout! Perfectly roasted and full of flavor. The touch of crema added a lovely balance, though a slightly more generous drizzle would enhance the overall dish even more. 3. Wok Noodles - Unfortunately, these missed the mark. The noodles were overcooked and had a watery consistency that affected the dish's overall texture and flavor. 4. Bao Buns - We sampled each variety (chicken, tofu, and shrimp), and while the fillings had potential, the buns themselves were quite dry and lacked the fluffy texture that's typically expected. Some even had a slight crunch, indicating they may have been overcooked. Additionally, the protein would benefit greatly from more sauce to enhance their flavor and juiciness. Overall, I would probably skip this restaurant on my food tour of downtown. Out of 6 or 7 items, only one hit the spot. I would also recommend a signature beverage. A cocktail or mocktail that really stands out could enhance the overall experience. A picture of it in the center of the table would make customers more inclined to purchase the beverage as well.

Yelp
Phenomenal. If you like ramen, you'll love this place! Tons of good appetizers to pick from but we ended up with the Crab Ran-Goon Nachos and the Brussel Sprouts. For Ramen I went with the Red Miso base and my wife had the Green Curry. Both were great, fresh, And flavorful. Our server was very nice and gave us a lot of insight on the menu given it was our first time as well. Inside was a fine atmosphere with artwork everywhere. Even the bathrooms had a good vibe. Definitely on the list for a revisit.

Yelp

Yelp
Visited this place the night of Dauphin St Beer Fest, it felt like an episode of Bar Rescue, staff scrambling to keep up, LONG wait, signature drink made wrong, overcooked burger. We have been here several times and they continue to struggle. Used to have a good happy hour but that's been castrated. We will probably continue to give them a chance and try the new BYO ramen and an event one night because we desperately want this place to be good. Lastly, please dim the lights.

Yelp
The food is always good, but it feels like the menu is always changing. Every time we go in just about, there's something different.

Yelp
Love this place. It is nice to have a ramen location in downtown Mobile. Shout out to our awesome server Savannah who made the evening extra enjoyable.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and service. Arrived at 11am to an empty establishment, left at 11:45 with no one entering the restaurant while I was there. Egg rolls appeared to be frozen premade served with a sweet sauce. They were lukewarm. Had the pork broth Ramen with veggies, kimchi, egg and pork. Here is where it was lacking. The broth was 5 out of 10 at best. The pork appeared to just be a blob of fat and gristle. This Ramen is nothing like I've ever seen. Like I said, great service, and cleanliness, but nothing to excite me and make me return.
