We love the ciders here! The food trucks are great too! We also love being able to enjoy our food and ciders out back in the wide open yard. This is a must stop whenever we are in the area. We highly recommend it if you're close and like hard cider

Google
Stopped in during Phabulas Phoebus packed house awesome energy, fast moving yet still positive and polite service. Enjoyed several, ok many ciders and slushies during the day. Totally enjoyed the tall hunk of eye candy behind the bar. Handsome, friendly and polite young man. This was my first visit but certainly won’t be my last.

Actually writing this after being in the UK for nearly 3 weeks. I have since sampled some of England's finest, and I can honestly say... I really like the stuff back home. Y'all give them a run for their money. I had a lovely mint julep cider there, and while a Bee Sting from Sheffield is pretty well on-point, I can still taste the crisp, refreshing julep I had with my friends before I left. Definitely coming back. Mostly because I miss my dog, family, and partner, but the cider is definitely in the decision matrix.

I do not drink cider but I love the outside atmosphere on a nice day. During the evening hours except Mondays, they have a different food truck daily and play music outside. People bring their children and let them run around and their leashed, trained fur babies. It's a very relaxing environment to just hang out.

Google
Great place in a house!! The cider is in the inside. Food truck and seating outback. Great place to grab a cider - everything was good. They have the option to grab 4 tasters so you don't have to commit

Google
Fantastic laid back atmosphere. The staff have always been great to banter with and a nice change in pace in the music you typically hear in a bar. It's a great place to go and just sit and have conversation with friends. They have a massive backyard area that I can't wait for them to do something with. I'm picturing something along the lines of the shack or new realm style. As for food I left it blank because they typically rely on food trucks.

I stopped into Sly Clyde’s on a whim while waiting for traffic over the HRBT to calm down—and I’m so glad I did. I tried Surf Hopper and was seriously impressed. It’s crisp, refreshing, and has just the right edge to it to satisfy a typical beer drinker. The cider was great, but what really made the whole experience for me was the service—especially from the bartender Dylan. I felt welcome from the second I walked in. He’s got that rare combination of being friendly, easy to talk to, and genuinely good at what he does. You can tell he enjoys connecting with guests and creating a great atmosphere. If you’re in the area, definitely make the stop. The cider’s fantastic—and Dylan makes the visit even better.

Google
Fantastic experience! The mulled cider here is absolutely incredible—perfectly spiced, warm, and so comforting. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely a must-visit for cider lovers. I’ll be coming back for more!

Yelp
Second visit here and this is a great place. Cool cider place in an older home in the Phoebus area of Hampton. Can't speak on the ciders as I don't drink them but friends who I have come with enjoy them a lot. Not too much seating inside but the main attraction is their huge lawn outside. Picnic tables and even a fire pit are in the lawn area. There is also a covered area to one side as well. Food trucks and other events happen weekly. Friendly staff and a great place for groups to meet-up! Only downside is that they only have two bathrooms!

Yelp
Although we did not get a chance to go to the home-base, we visited the micro-brewery at the Williamsburg resort. All of the ciders we tried were refreshing and actually tasted good! Hard to find a good cider, but we did.

Yelp
First of all, who knew there was even a place that existed like this in the area???? It's soooooo quaint and the staff was amazingly friendly and didn't seem bothered by the millions of questions I asked about how they came to be lol. Amy, one of the managers, cheerfully told me their story and let me know that they don't serve food there but there's always a different food truck there and patrons are also welcome to being their own food or order delivery there! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming! It may sound silly but when she told me it was "just cider" I honestly had no idea I was about to feel tipsy. I asked if there was alcohol in it because o was beginning to feel something. lol! I can't believe how clueless I was about the brewing of apples! I won't spoil it by telling you here, take some time to visit this hidden gem! Pictured is a delicious meal I ordered from the food truck that was there but the drink was their "Doughbuoy" and let me tell you it was DELICIOUS!!
google avatar

Yelp
Cool spot for the day or night. In the summer, everything is open & somewhat shaded. In the winter, everything is covered & slightly heated. You can bring your own food in or enjoy their food trucks that have always been there when I've been there. A cool, low key vibe, and I love meeting up with friends here!
google avatar

Nikole B.

Yelp
Great atmosphere inside and out. Wide variety of cider. Pets are welcome! They do not serve food but regularly have food trucks and entertainment. The staff is knowledgeable and very personable.

Yelp
This is one of those spots that I'm mad I am JUST finding out about! To be honest, I didn't even come here for the cider. I came here because AVOCARGO FOOD TRUCK was supposed to be here today. They take vegan food to an entirely NEW LEVEL! But I digress, let's talk cider!! Can fermented apples even be sexy? Welp, Sly Clyde did just that. I am NOT drinker; I don't usually like alcohol --never did and never will...and here I am tossing back an Apple Cider Sangria! Was I missing out on Apple Cider all this time? Wow!! Sly, can I call you by your first name because at this point, we are family! Look for me at the family reunion, Clyde's!! This sangria cider just made me a regular! Sip this cider with an Oyster Mushroom wrap and sweet potato egg rolls from that Avocargo food truck and this was a meal fit for the gods!!

Yelp
Stopped here for the first time- as I love cider. Got two flights which I shared w my husband. It was all really good. There were a couple cider flavors we didn't love but overall it was very delicious. They had a food truck on site also (Nosh) which was very good also. Dog friendly - our pup was allowed indoors and outside. Outside area was very big. Lots tables and some of them under a covered area.
google avatar

Mackinze H.

Yelp
I love the cider here!!! For a bar it is very family friendly and pet friendly!!! I love taking my dog here and relaxing on a glass or too. The workers are absolutely wonderful and they love my pup! Every time we go she always gets attention from them! Just a beautiful brewery!

Yelp
Nice place - nicer people. Love the use of the historic building. Enjoyed the dry ciders!

Yelp
While dining at Blue Talon Bistro in Williamsburg on my last trip, I discovered Sly Clyde Ciderworks. On this trip, we made an effort to stop by Sly Clyde Ciderworks. They had 10 ciders on draught and a rotating slushie. I liked how you could either get a pint of one cider or a flight of four ciders. If you didn't like either of the $14 flights they have, you may customize one to your liking for an additional $2. My fiancé had a pint of 1. Submersive, which was dry, earthy, appley, and subtle. I enjoyed the custom flight of 3. Inkjet (Blackberry and Mint), 5. Summer Salvo (Imperial Pineapple), 6. Carnivale (Honey and Apricot), 8. Dough Buoy (Cinnamon Donut). I love mint, but 3. Inkjet was a bit too minty for me. The 5. Summer Salvo was clean, sweet, fruity, and refreshing. The 6. Carnivale was light, sweet, fruity, and balanced. The 8. Dough Buoy was sweet, spiced, and candy-like. It was hard to pick a favorite because the last three I had were all good. If I had to pick one, it would be the 6. Carnivale. Before leaving, I purchased a teal Sly Clyde Ciderworks t-shirt!

Yelp
This place had been on my list for some time. I finally made it there after having 2 hours to spare in Hampton. I knew a head of time that Sly Clyde wasn't a restaurant and didn't have food. However, I didn't realize there weren't any snacks either. I guess I had hoped there would be at least pretzels or peanuts. Nope nope, I was wrong don't expect it. I know sometimes they have food trucks on site, this isn't always the case. Eat before you come here or make plans to eat afterwards. I ordered a flight of four for $10 and left with a growler to take back to refill. If you are the type of cider drinker who likes typically likes sweeter ciders, none of these are that sweet. I made my selection based on the recommendation of the woman working the counter. Knowing what I know now, I would have not selected the cider that tasted like coffee, or the one that tasted like hot peppers. This was a one and done experience for me.

Yelp
Absolutely awesome! Cannot wait to return in the summer/spring. Huge patio outside and outdoor area. We attended when there was a pizza food truck outside. We were able to order outside ams then buy our Cider at the bar. Nice staff. Bars and tables. There are board games out as well to grab and play.
google avatar

Christina C.

Yelp
Super friendly service, and the decor is super nice and rustic. We sat outside and really enjoyed the weather. The cider was pretty tasty, I prefer a sweet cider so I got the Apple Pie Cider and it was really good. There was a food truck there called Nosh Modern Mobile Bistro and we enjoyed the food. Many people had their dogs there so it was nice and dog friendly. We brought our pup too. We will definitely return in the future.
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
Tastiest cider bar ever been. Haven't been to much tho. Lol. Easy parking. Pricing comparable. Actual ciders and not sours. (Clear and Not cloudy) Games to play with friends while you drink. Should change hours. Felt like they closed to early.
google avatar

Yelp
I've had Sly Clyde Ciders for years but have never had the opportunity to visit until recently. The location is good being off the interstate and in an area where there are plenty of restaurants and things to do. Parking is super easy off the street and behind the building. I think first glance the place is really cute! It looks like a little house on the outside. Once you walk in, there is plenty of seating available and the bar. We chose to order at the bar and take our drinks outside under the tent (this was early Spring when we went to visit). They offer flights in addition to just ordering your favorite cider. My favorite is the Ink Jet and there was a special cinnamon flavor as well. I loved the outside tent. There was live music on a Friday night and also a food truck. Can't wait for my next visit!

Yelp
If you're looking for a quaint, fun, chill out kind of place that serves only cider, this is the hangout for you! Several different ciders on tap and bottled, from very dry options to semisweet, and sweet variations also available. You can take several different types of ciders "to go" and you have the option to take growlers of cider as well. Such a cool place, even in the winter! Live bands play here as well S an assortment of family friendly games (if you feel like boozing and testing your brain functions on 9.8% cider) There's outdoor seating as well as some seating inside. Things to note*** No food served here BUT there are food trucks, so that is kinda cool. Parking: street parking available Menu: ciders only, and food trucks Service: excellent, friendly and fast Ambiance: chill, casual, upscale bar Swing by, grab some friends and belt out a few oldies with the band...I dare yah!
google avatar

Yelp
Heather, where do I start.... Waking in and not knowing anything about the establishment she explained everything. Then telling her what my taste and needs where. It exceeded my expansions. Would definitely recommend!!! Heathers service not only to myself but knowing her customers as the line got to the door she was able to remember what each ordered and took care of the customers and my needs sitting at the bar quick and effectively.
google avatar

Matthew F.

Yelp
I liked the dry options a lot, especially the cinnamon 'channel fever'. I also liked one with jalapeño. Prices are reasonable; $3 for a single or $10 for a flight of 4. The location feels like a bar. There are some board games along the wall so I can see people hanging out here for a while.
google avatar

Yelp
The best cidery on this side of the water! The inside is an old house that was converted, there are great outdoor spaces and you can bring your own chairs when the weather is nice(during the winter they set up a tent and heater). Awesome bartenders and the cider is super delicious! Inkjet and Surf Hopper are my personal favorites.
google avatar

Allen P.

Yelp
Their ciders are excellent. Personal favorites include: -Submersive: simple semi dry straight up apple that goes with just about any food. -Inkjet: blackberry apple cider. Not super sweet and very crisp. They also have a coffee cider that is my absolute favorite but it's seasonal and hasn't come back in a while.
google avatar

Jordan B.

Yelp
My friend and I stopped in on a Sunday to catch up and enjoy some cider. With 10 cider options, there is plenty for everyone! We elected to try four in a flight, which is great price, and get a glass of the Channel Fever, their advertised Christmas in a cup. The bartender let us sample one of the more outlandish, the habanero rosemary flavored, which was good but definitely had some heat. We were blown away by the ciders! They range from very traditional, to tart, to floral. My favorites were the submersible, inkjet and channel fever. Inside they have a bar, several tables and a communal high top. In warmer months, they have an outdoor space which I would like to check out.

Yelp
Our cornhole league CLUBWAKA plays there on Tuesdays. We have over 200 people playing and drinking ciders. There is a food truck also. Love this place! Our cornhole league CLUBWAKA plays there on Tuesdays. We have over 200 people playing and drinking ciders. There is a food truck also. Love this place!

Yelp
Excellent ciders. The building shares a history with my family. My aunt Richanda lived there in the early 1900s.
google avatar

Jimmy W.

Yelp
It's harvest time! This joint seized and squeezed all the apples in Virginia... but they do it well! There were 10 varieties of cider on tap but that's before we consider mixing! The staff was kind and helpful navigating the menu of cider options. Sometimes there are food trucks on site but otherwise bring your grub upstairs and enjoy with some tasty ciders and good comoa
google avatar

Katie J.

Yelp
Really cool spot in Phoebus. Old house turned into a cider works. There are a few tables, a bar, and 1 long high top inside. On the front porch there are a couple tables. Outback there are picnic tables in the grass and an area w the tent. There was live music - really good! And a food truck that served pizza. While the pizza took a while, service at the bar for the cider was quick. We tried the flights, I liked the channel which was sort of sweet and cinnamon-y. Very much like fall. Pizza was really good but took some time. I think they do different food trucks each week. Overall great spot. Laid back, great music, space outback for kids to run around, dog friendly. Definitely will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
I'm not a cider mark, but with a new place coming into town that specializes in it, I figured it's a place worthy trying. I met up with a friends and there was plenty of space outside in the back for us. I ordered a flight of 4 ciders, though I had no idea what to get. The bartender asked if I preferred sweet or dry. I said dry, and she went to work to get my flight ready. Good service. In total, I tried five ciders, and the only one I can say I would order again is the Inkjet, which tastes like a blackberry mojito. The habanero rosemary cider was a pretty creative combination, but the combo of the nuttiness and the heat took a little getting used to. Sly Clyde is a nice place to visit if you're a cider fan, but it isn't the kind of place that I would frequent.
google avatar

Dennis S.

Yelp
This is THE place I spend all of my spare time. The staff is friendly. The selection of in-house brewed ciders are varied without having so many that they cause analysis paralysis (there's usually ten on tap). They typically have Live Music Fridays and Saturdays, along with a rotating list of local food trucks. The interior is cozy, or there is a wide open patio out back to enjoy. If you're up for something different (or just trying to wait out tunnel traffic, which many regulars have been known to do), stop on by and try a pint! If you like sweet, I recommend Submersive, Inkjet, Brakelight Ride, and they've usually got a seasonal berry that's good. If you like dry, Cut & Run and Surf Hopper are great choices. For the exotic, they have Swinging Compass which has a touch of Habanero in it, and is surprisingly great. I also enjoy Stayman & Rome, though it has a more polarizing flavor; you'll either love it or hate it.
google avatar

Lauren C.

Yelp
Cute and wonderful! Hidden gem in downtown Hampton! Great inside accommodations and lots of room for outdoor seating to be COVID friendly! If you like cider, this is the place to be! Super friendly staff, helpful and give great suggestions. They have food trucks all the time, sometimes live music, and allow you to bring your own food. Great place to go with friends after work or a nice afternoon activity. Will definitely be coming back!
google avatar

Chelsea M.

Yelp
I had a great experience here and I will be back for sure. I sampled all but two on the draft menu. I have three favorites. 1) Inkjet- minty and light blackberry touches. This was very smooth. I like my ciders smooth. If you like cocktails this might be the one for you. 2) Submersive- this was the sweetest and the smoothest. If you don't like dry cider get this and you will be happy. Tastes like apple juice. 3) Spinning Compass- this a spicy cider. This is peppery as there is habenaro in it. This has a very smooth finish but it can stay in the chest if you are prone to heartburn. Its a great cider but I will drink it in more limited amounts.

Yelp
Whoa! Sly Clyde has the most unique variety of ciders that I've experienced and each one is better than the next! I highly recommend that you taste all 9 by doing a flight (2 actually) for $10 each! Our two flights allowed both of us to try all of them and feel like we were able to get a real taste of each one! As I said, out of the 9, at least 4-5 of them are super unique and unlike most ciders! This could be because they collaborated with other local companies to make these amazing ciders! The place itself is really neat being in a converted house! I initially thought that there wouldn't be much space but was definitely wrong on that point as there is adequate indoor and much outdoor space for large parties! The decor is very pretty and the ladies at the bar did a great job managing all the customers on a super busy day! Now back to the ciders, my favorites included the cut and run honey, inkjet, surf hopper, and submersive! Now, there were others that were really good and most of them were taproom exclusives that could only be tasted there and not available for purchase. For purchases overall, you can get growlers for $20-$25 plus the $8 growler fee which then gets you a discount on the next visit. You could also buy a few varieties by the bottle for $7 and a 4 pack of submersive cans for $10! They have additional merchandise including glassware for sale too! Overall, Sly Clyde is an amazing new addition to Hampton Roads and I can tell it will be a popular one! I am excited to see this place grow and more people check it out! Cheers to them and their amazing cider!

Yelp
Always a great time at Sky Clyde. Friendly staff that's willing to help and answer any questions. They almost always have a food truck that is delicious. Indoor and outdoor seating (tons of room outside). They have 10 ciders on tap that are guaranteed to have a flavor you would enjoy. Recommend this place 100% after a beach day at Fort Monroe
google avatar

Gabe D.

Yelp
The cider is absolutely delicious, so many great options. They played some '70s classics- Fleetwood Mac, Styx, and Neil Young. Made me feel like Summer 2020 wasn't TOTALLY cancelled this year because of the virus. Brought our pup and had a couple rounds and sampled some great cider. The lawn is spacious and they had quite a few picnic tables but there was also space to just bring a blanket or your own lawn chairs and chill outside (if the Virginia sun isn't too wicked). Thanks for a great Sunday afternoon Sly Clyde's =] we will be back!

Mackenzie S.

Yelp
Great staff very knowledgeable And the drinks were great Sadly only food they sell are chips but they do allow u to grub hub and DoorDash from other places around the area. They recommended a really good restaurant around the area Would come back again
google avatar

Jess G.

Yelp
In love with this place after just one visit. This cider brewery is right in downtown Phebus and is helping turn the area around. It is located inside a historic house which has been restored and looks beautiful. We arrived at their opening time on a weekday and were greeted with chill 90s/2000s music. We sat at the bar but I was super excited to see lots our outdoor seating and cornhole! I ordered at flight of 4 ciders: winesap, inkjet, cut and run, and lime of the ancient mariner. They were all super unique and delicious but my favorite was the lime of the ancient mariner. It was so fresh and had lots of lime flavor. I can't wait to bring more people here to hang out and enjoy amazing cider!

Yelp
I love the revitalization going on in downtown Hampton! I've been to a ton of places down here as they've been opening up, but I didn't even realize Sly Clyde was a thing. It basically is a converted house -- so you're visiting someone's house where they just happen to pour you alcoholic cider. Not bad! Like many of the local brewery spots popping up around here, they host a food truck out back. It really is like a backyard patio party out there -- hang out at the tables, play some cornhole, enjoy the view! So in terms of the vibe of the place, it's definitely better than 3 stars. I gave it three based on the ciders -- and to be fair, I typically don't like ciders all that much. But a friend of mine suggested trying it, so I did. I went ahead and got a flight to sample a few at first -- I asked the barkeep for recommendations for the least sweet options, and she gave me four: Cut & Run, Juniper Rising, Surf Hopper and one other I can't remember the name of...I think it was something new they had on special. Anyway, after sampling them all, I really only liked the Cut & Run, mostly because it sort of tasted like ginger beer. So I went with a pint of that and a ginger lemon pound cake from the Nosh food truck that was parked outside -- and wow! Great combo! Overall, a place I could certainly hang out...just not the biggest fan of the ciders.
google avatar

Jennifer D.

Yelp
Super cute cider bar and a chill place to hang. They have 10 different house made ciders on tap. I ordered a flight of 4 different ones priced at $10. I enjoyed all of them but my favorite was the surf hopper, which had a refreshing lemon and lime flavor with a sweet finish. The inside is beautiful and the building is a restored house. If the weather is nice there is seating options outside as well as corn hole boards. Sly is a great place for a date night or a casual pint after the beach.
google avatar

Carolyn B.

Yelp
Such a cool place to drink fun cider ales. I'm in love with with agave jalapeños ale due to the kick. They should offer flights. Other than that A1 establishment
google avatar

Maurice L.

Yelp
So I tried this place today, I was pleasantly surprised of how many different ciders they had. I tried the habanero cider and it was really delicious, spicy yet refreshing at the same time. A drink to sip slowly and not chugged. Theres a nice size bar and seating area inside. In the back area they have a large deck and year for playing cornhole etc. The food truck A Bite of Maine was there and the line for that food was wrapped around the yard but it was definitely worth it. The food was delicious and the service was great I can't wait to come back to this place and try the other ciders.
google avatar

Blair C.

Yelp
Local Cidery, great place to hang out and enjoy a few drinks. They have ample selection of ciders and the flavors range from dry to sweet. For winter they even have a warm milk cider which really hit the spot. Honestly it just seemed to be regular cider warmed up but no complaints still delicious. The inside can get a bit crowded if they get busy so show up early if you want a seat.
google avatar

Anthony W.

Yelp
While my experience was relatively brief, I enjoyed Sly Clyde Ciderworks. I do wish they offered a few more selections with regard to ciders. However for what it was, it's a fairly laid back brewery.

Sharon W.

Yelp
This place is beyond amazing. Ursula wrath was my personal favorite, purple goodness . They have a huge backyard space and amazing food truck options each day. I would highly recommend checking them out whenever you're in the Hampton , Virginia area.
google avatar

Arielle P.

Yelp
I was so excited to visit Hampton Roads' first cidery. Sly Clyde is in an adorable historic home in the Phoebus neighborhood of Hampton. Inside, there's an open tasting room and additional seating outback. Sly Clyde's ciders weren't really for me. I didn't realize just how dry they'd be, even though I got a flight with their sweeter ones. It was, however, certainly an one-of-a-kind experience trying the habanero cider. There wasn't a food truck when I visited late Sunday evening, but the cidery is nearby other restaurants that you can easily walk to.
google avatar

Al E.

Yelp
Awesome cidery. Great selections. I love the big back outdoors area. It is plenty of space to relax and envoy a very tasty cider. I highly recommend. I tried the lavender cider and was in love.

O C.

Yelp
Large outdoor areas in the back are nice for large groups. Bartenders were friendly and attentive while I was inside. The place is nice and there is a good variety when it comes to their cider. I'll definitely be back.
google avatar

James B.

Yelp
This place is amazing. The venue, the staff, and definitely the only place in Hampton Roads to get locally made cider right on site. There in jet you can get it other breweries but you need to go in and they just released one of their holiday collections and it's amazing. I would go here anytime that you want a really good cider it's just a good place to fellowship and enjoy a nice good relaxing drink and time
google avatar

Brandy B.

Yelp
I love this place! Always a unique variety of food trucks or bring your own. Coder is amazing! We cone here every week.
google avatar

Robert L.

Yelp
I am not really big into ciders, but we went there with our adult kids as it is near their home. I was really impressed with the range of ciders that they had from sweet to sour. They had nice seating outback of the place and a food truck on a Thursday night. Prices were reasonable, staff was friendly, and we even carried out a four pack to enjoy at home. I am always a fan of small brewpubs/cideries/distilleries that are able to make it work during this pandemic. I wish that we had a place like this that was fairly close to our own house.
google avatar

Laura M.

Yelp
Great cidery in the heart of Phoebus! The old home has such a great atmosphere and there's a tasting room inside around the bar, then out back, there's outdoor seating as well. It was cold when we visited, but this will be a great place to spend an afternoon during the summer. Their ciders were delicious and the service was friendly.
google avatar

Jennifer P.

Yelp
This place is nice. They have about 10 ciders on tap rotating 5 or 6 every so often (or at least thats what the guy told me). This place is strictly cider and thats it. Thats cool with me because I love ciders. They were not doing their flights which I was sad about. So i bought a few 7oz drinks. They did have a food truck outside, but I also saw people bring food from other near by places. They welcome ordering delivery from other places too which is nice if they have a food truckor not. The two ciders I had was pretty good. One was the Cut & Run 6.7% bold and off-dry, fermented on fresh cut ginger and finished with a hint of lemon. Other was Sandbar 6.7% Raspberry Lemon Cider. Both were pretty good.
