Small Cheval Gets an Opening Date in Logan Square | Eater Chicago

"The Logan Square location replacing the long-running ice cream stand will debut on Monday, July 14, at 2815 W. Armitage Avenue. Ownership (Hogsalt, the hospitality group behind Bavette’s and Au Cheval) acquired the original stand in 2023 and has incorporated the stand’s name onto its ice cream menus. The concept is a spinoff of Au Cheval, first debuted in 2015 in Bucktown, and has since expanded to several city and suburban locations." - Ashok Selvam

The Best Late Night Eats When You're Drunk - Chicago - The Infatuation

"Small Fry says they’re “open until 3am – occasionally later.” And that, in a nutshell, is exactly why they just get us: no hard rules, no real closing time. Sometimes you need a burger for dinner, sometimes you need one for 2nd dinner, and sometimes you need one to cap off your night after taking those ill-advised extra shots. SmallFry is here for you in all of these situations." - sam faye

Honestly it has been probably my favorite find so far in the Logan Square area. Literally decided to go out for a walk and saw the restaurant and the amount of people ordering so decided to try it out. The burgers are amazing and the fries are just as good. You can’t go wrong with probably any of the food options here. Would definitely recommend visiting.

Bryan went above and beyond to help make our meal the best! I had the chicken tenders (not pictured) and they were phenomenal! My family had the burgers (both vegetarian and non vegetarian) and they loved them!! And Bryan even threw in an ice cream for my nephew! So kind! Great service!

higher quality than billy goats, but it's also more expensive at about $12 for a decent Burger. fries are surprisingly included! condiments must be obtained behind the counter which is a bit weird. overall atmosphere is quite classy, love it

I miss OG Freeze, but glad we have this. Burgers are as good as other Small Cheval. Seating is great. Bathrooms have AC and clean. Early early happy hour is awesome. Pro move: order your ice cream after you’re done with food using QR codes on tables. Don’t let that ice cream melt!

First of all, let me just say that this has to be my favorite spot to eat in Chicago. Call me crazy!! I mean the burgers are just absolutely 10/10 and the HOLY CHEESE SAUCE?!! God send. Those shakes and concretes?? Honeyyy I was on the FLOOR!! I was sent to Valhalla. My absolute favorite part though about this location specifically is the manager (Tiffany I believe her name is?) SHE IS A GEM OF A HUMAN BEING!!! Every single time she is just so full of love and infectious energy!! My family loves her!! Cannot stop recommending this place to all my friends back home!! ♥️♥️

A great experience at Small Cheval!! The staff member Bryan went above and beyond making sure to get our order right and respect all dietary needs (my nephew is a vegetarian!) checking in to make sure we got all we needed and the food was amazing!! We will definitely be coming back!

After dropping one’s child off at college, and the numerous hours of dorm room set up and registration….nothing beats a good burger. A great burger is even better. Thanks for the comfort food! It was delicious.

Great addition to the neighborhood. The service certainly isn't what it used to be in the old days at the Bucktown location, but all the locations are similar now. The result of success. The puppy patty is a must order if you bring your dog or an ugly friend. The addition of ice cream is fantastic!
