Where to Enjoy a Glass of Chardonnay This Summer in the Atlanta Area | Eater

"Smash Burgers by Vice was made for leisurely Sunday afternoons. The space, formerly held by Community burger, has a 50-seat covered patio and plenty of lawn games like corn hole. Kick back with a smash burger or two (they’re covered in toppings like kimchi or crushed potato chips) and a wagyu beef hot dog alongside a glass of Harken Chardonnay." - Vox Creative

My husband really enjoyed the Westside Burger with an egg added. He really liked the carmelized onions and garlic aioli. My daughter and I both enjoyed our Kirby Burgers. She had them hold the pickle and add fresh jalapenos. We liked the spicy BBQ sauce with crispy onions on the burger as well as the fact that the bacon was chopped so you had bacon in every bite. She said it was the most enjoyable burger she has had in a long time. My daughter's boyfriend got the Kirby Burger with an added egg, which he said was really good despite not having a runny yolk egg like on my husband's burger. We got a Haywood's Wagyu Beef Hot dog as prepared on the menu so that we could cut it up for all of us to taste. You can ask for the hot dog fries or cooked on the flat top. It was very good as well. Fried cheese curds, fries and tater tots all have a nice seasoning with their own rub. It was very good, not spicy but brought nice flavor. You can order an adult combo to include your draught beer.

A new burger contender comes to the greater ATL area. My buddy and I showed up during the soft opening and it did not disappoint. I ordered a single El Classico (grass fed) and a single BYO (wagyu, caramelized onions, egg, and bacon). Both were legit. I will highlight the egg was cooked perfectly and the onions were bananas good. Will definitely be back!!!

So here is the deal…co-owner Daniel and the team behind this one is trying to set a tone in Milton and plant the flag for a premiere smash burger joint that should find success for families and explorers of the expanding city of Milton. We attended their launch and while the mechanics of the operations were very much in flux (we waited over 20 mins for our burger), there was clear launch pains that were being ironed out. After a wait for our missing order, one of the other co-owners came by to apologies and offered free drinks. I declined because it was all part of them figuring things out. But we took them up on the complimentary fried pickles (yum). We got the burger of the month (they quickly rectified for us) was delicious, hot and tasty. Would have liked to see a true “smash” for these burgers (bun was more smashed vs the meat). Many being delivered today looked thick and stacked, vs my preference for smashed thinner and extending over the bun with some nice crisp lacing (that is smash in my mind). Price was $13 for the burger and while a tad high (for size), it was ok for us. Gave them bonus points for Genesee Light beer ON DRAFT. Will return someday when they are a well oiled machine and to see if they perfected that “smash” that could earn them Milton’s top smash burger joint.

This is our new favorite burger place! They make a perfect smashed burger with quality ingredients and have plenty of options to customize your order. We got our order quickly and the staff was very polite and friendly. The food and service here was exceptional. Thank you!

Unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience at Smashburger’s by Vice. I was really looking forward to this new spot opening in our area, but the visit fell short of expectations. None of the toppings on our burgers were correct, and all of the sides were underwhelming. My burger initially came out burned - while they did remake it, the toppings were still wrong. The burgers themselves were decent, though smaller than expected. The interior felt closed off and lacked good flow.

Google
I tried the burger and hot dog. The prices are very affordable, which is a plus, but the food itself was underwhelming. Both the burger and hot dog lacked flavor and didn’t leave much of an impression. Given the low price, it's an acceptable option for a quick meal but not something I would go to regularly

Second time I have been here and not impressed. Both times for take out. First time, they didn’t have any to go containers for the food. Last night, they didn’t have chocolate syrup for a chocolate shake. They made me a vanilla shake instead and it was terrible. All milk. The employee making it was asking a coworker how to make a shake so I had a bad feeling it was not going to be good. When we got home, this is what we found. A burnt burger and bun with a hole in the patty. McDonald’s has a better burger. I tired to call the restaurant but the voicemail I received was full and no way to contact the restaurant on their website. I hate complaining but this was very disappointing. Two strikes!

This was the first time my family and I ate there and it was a great experience, great service, and great food. We had a waiter named Lordel who made us feel at home. You can tell he loves what he does. He even gave suggestions on what the sauces would taste good on if you were to take it home. A true care in his service and a awesome personality. He also seen we were playing with their outdoor games and he suggested we change our table closer to them. He even helped. Details and experiences like that makes a lasting impression. My family and I travel great distances for burgers. A part of us have been missing bc our favorite burger spot closed their doors a few years ago. We feel we have found the best & affordable burger in Metro Atl with an amazing atmosphere and service.

Yelp
Started off rough. The place is new, so should cut them some slack. Walked in at 1:30pm--only two people in front of me. Manager did not greet anyone or look up from his computer. In fact, the only time he spoke was to his team member to ensure I was being charged for a double and not a single. Girl taking orders at register is nice, but also responsible for making shakes and ice cream, which added a lot of time until I was finally able to put my order in at 1:45... Walking into the dining area, cushions on the chairs inside were dirty, and the one I sat in was also off-balanced. I also had to track someone down to refill their condiments station. Anywayyyyy--the kitchen absolutely saved the day. Burger arrived fast! I had the Classico and mannnn this burger is just packed full of flavor. The onions, the beef, the seasoning...idk something absolutely special about this burger. The food runner also helped save face for the staff as he checked in to make sure everything was good a couple minutes after dropping off the burger. TLDR: I'll be back for that burger!! ..and I'll be hoping the front of the house experience is a little better next time!

Yelp
We've been here a handful of times now, both for lunch and dinner and they have progressively gotten better. They just had their official grand opening after a few weeks of soft opening so I imagine it is even better now. The space is inviting and the outdoor covered patio area is where we have eaten every time. The games for kids (and adults) in the turf area is a nice touch and makes dining with kids that much easier. You order at the counter and get a number and they bring it to your table. You can get any burger as a single, double, or triple. I got El Classico as a double and to my surprise, it was two separate burgers. They were good and I do love the crispy ends of the meat that are in that first bite. It is $5 to make it a meal and the best deal in town is adding $7 to make it a meal with a beer (basically $2 for the beer)! you don't get a choice though as it is a 404 Lager, which was fine by me. The fries were good as well.

Yelp
Wow, the burgers are incredible!! Fresh, crispy edges, pickles and onions, smash sauce... and the fries are crispy and seasoned well. Such a hidden gem! Will definitely be back. Better than NFA burger

Yelp
Smash Burgers by Vice is the latest project from the Vice Kitchen team, known for their focus on high-quality, locally sourced meats. The burgers feature two beef options--grass-fed and F1 American Wagyu--both from Vice's own North Georgia Meat Company. It's supposed to translate to high quality beef at approachable prices. Stopped in for lunch during their soft opening week so take whatever I say with some latitude -- good or bad. I found the restaurant interior a bit disappointing. Layout feels like the old Community Burger space with a facelift -- not something I ever really liked. The seating areas are okay but mostly feel cramped inside. Outdoor seating is good. Neither one though is comfortable -- clearly designed for quick bites rather than lingering. The burgers are solid; the beef tastes incredible. I went with a double patty which for me was overkill--one patty is plenty to enjoy the rich, juicy beef without getting overwhelmed. The burger bun is pretty small so I can't even imagine what a triple looks like. The loaded tots -- chef's kiss. :) Really delicious, too. Two double burgers, loaded tots, a beer, tip -- $50. It can get pretty steep for a burgers out for two. Gonna mix it up a little and see if I can find the value sweet spot the next time I go.

Yelp
Best burger in Atlanta, better than NFA. Worth the drive. Very family friendly, can't wait to go back.

Yelp
I ordered a burger combo and a burger. They were not busy at all. Picked up my order and of course it was incorrect. Called and was told you can come and pick them up, I entered the facility and the dude up front states you forgot your fries!!! REALLY !!!! NO YOU DIDN'T PUT THEM IN MY BOX. Now i sit here with a COLD BURGER and some half way fries. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Yelp
I have been there 3 times now, and I absolutely love it. I have many food sensitivities and it is difficult for me to find places where the ingredients are great quality and the flavor is great as well, without getting sick so this experience was pleasantly surprising. I was impressed with the Wagyu burger patty, and the FRIES WERE INCREDIBLE. The cherry on top was the Smash sauce. My son loved it too. We also tried the soft serve ice cream and ice cream selections up front. I, personally, don't enjoy super sweet soft serve and this nailed it. I did see other families putting toppings on it so if you like a more sugary experience (or in my case, have kids) you can tailor the flavor. They also have a really interesting selection of ice creams I have not seen before up front. They have games in the patio so if you like a more quiet experience, you can stay inside which we did and then if you want to play with your kids or friends, you can choose your ambiance. The staff was super helpful in recommending the right food for our individual tastes, and not having to break the bank to have a great food experience is always welcomed. Definitely will be returning!

Yelp
We stopped by Smash Burgers by Vice during their grand opening weekend, and let me just say--the hype is real when it comes to the burgers. I ordered The Kirby, and it was everything you want in a smash burger: crispy edges, juicy center, and layered with flavor. Next time, I'm definitely going for the double patty--one just wasn't enough in the best possible way. As expected with any grand opening, things were a bit hectic. The service was friendly but understandably slow, and the organization could use some fine-tuning. That said, the place was packed, and it's clear they're working hard to get their systems running smoothly. I have no doubt the speed and flow will improve as they settle in. If you're a burger fan, don't sleep on this spot--the food is absolutely worth the visit, and I'm already looking forward to round two. Welcome to Milton, Vice!

Yelp
Wagyu burger was excellent 5 star. They have barely been open and the ice cream/milkshake machine is broken. Almost left because I came with my kids and they wanted it. Bad look to just open and your machines already broken. Daughter got a hot dog and it looked awful, burnt on both ends and shriveled up and dry looking. Will come back and try again but yall need to get it together the last burger place that was here failed.

Yelp
Service was good, but we were not impressed by the food. The cheese curds had some weird BBQ type of seasoning as did the fries. Then the burgers were just OK. The patties were a bit big/thick for smashburgers and the buns weren't big enough for them.

Yelp
Have been here twice and enjoy the chicken pesto patty. Speed is a little slow but the food is good. Staff are very nice and friendly.

Trevor Q.

Yelp
The food was fantastic. Their meats are supplied by their own cows and butcher shop, and the staff was incredibly friendly. I was really surprised by how nice it all was.

Yelp
My wife and I stopped in for lunch on our first visit. I had read about the opening and was inspired by the messaging that the beef is sourced from the same owners in N GA. This proposes that you get more for your money. The folks we interacted with were all very positive, friendly, and on top of their game. Cashier, host, kitchen help... We sat on the patio, which we felt was perfect, slight breeze blowing through and very cozy. Very kid friendly, which i'm sure can get noisy, but we had a pleasent experience. In short, the burger was amazing, the fries were seasoned where I prefer a simple plain fry, and we each had a beer. Unfortunately we paid $45 for one double burger, one single burger, two fries, and two beers. Not sure we'll go back based on that price point.

Yelp
Update***Gave Vice another try and it was much improved. Patties were thin with crispy edges and the fries were improved and did not have a barbecue seasoning on them. However, nothing was salted. If they would just season their food they would knock it out of the park.*** It just ok. I was disappointed that the burger did not have thin crispy edges like a true smashburger should. The meat was in desperate need of salt. Yet there was no salt to be found in the restaurant. Tater tots were good. Fries had a bbq seasoning that I wasnt fond of. Perhaps that can be eliminated during the ordering process. While I appreciate the pasture to table, the burger fell short. Village Burger and shake shack put out a better tasting burger in my opinion. Restaurant itself was very nice. I like what they did with the patio area. There was cornhole and checkers for the kids. Service was quick. To be fair this is the restaurant's opening week and I'm sure they will be tweaking things as they gain feedback. I plan to come back in a month and give it another try and see if there's any improvement.

Yelp
Where do I start? There was 1 person working the register with a long line. When I finally made it to the front, I ordered a combo with fries and a drink. I asked for the burger in a lettuce wrap vs a bun. I was told they didn't have that so I just said - hold the bun. I then went to fill my cup with iced tea (as advertised on the menu). However, the ice tea jugs had no nozzle. So I found a waiter and asked him for help. He proceeded to tell me that they were out of tea bags. I said, "No, I ordered ice tea." He told me that it was make your own with the tea bag they provide. At this point, I thought I was being punked but he was serious. I filled my cup with water and went to my seat. My burger arrived - on a bun. As far as food- burger was overcooked and the fries had a sweet bbq flavor - not my favorite.

Yelp
Yum! Waygu Burgers is excellent. Loved the sample of the homemade ice cream. Staff is very friendly and attentive!

Dawn Z.

Yelp
Everything is spicy. While I love a little spice I have a medical condition that I cannot eat spicy food. I'm sure I'm not alone. Please consider either adding some more mild sauce options like maybe ranch and maybe salt available for the fries.
