This outlet doesn’t deserve any stars! Terrible service and highly disappointing food! The lady at the counter was rude to other customers and not interested in taking orders! My meal came up to $24.41 for a salt-laden double patty burger that was so tiny , it could have been mistaken for a slider. , a coke, and bottled water! Staff were rude, disinterested, preoccupied with doing everything but tending to customers! They were out of shakes and once I was told the lady at the counter just glared at me and didn’t offer alternative options. When I finally got my order, the lady fulfilling the orders literally tossed the extra napkins to me! Smashburger should get these workers away from any customer-facing roles. Hire better help! Hire for personality, train for skill!

Five stars? I’d give it six if my arteries weren’t negotiating a peace treaty. This Smashburger hit harder than turbulence over Kansas. I moaned so loud biting into that burger TSA tried to detain me for suspicious noises.

I get it , it's fast food but a $13.59 double burger should not have a single piece of meat. Catching a flight so didn't have time to wait another 10 minute. Taste was good I'll give them that.

Amiyah is very unprofessional and careless at her job. While ordering, she interrupted me and told me the total, I told her I needed to order another combo. She looked up at me and said are you kidding me and sighed. She called a man’s name once, he never came in the 2 seconds it took for her to call his name, she said “I ain’t even care”, and tossed it right in the trash. Food was amazing even though she didn’t ring our order in the way we wanted it.

Burger itself (Double Smashburger) was quite good, 🍔 and Smash Fries were very good. 🍟👍🏻 Service and personnel ok. But overall it's just a chain restaurant, a fast food thing, so obe can't have any high expectations. It is what it is. Only for a quick bite while waiting for a connecting flight. ✈️ 🤷🏻‍♂️

We flew out of Charlotte last night and our gate was located right next to Smashburger. My son and daughter were hungry so we placed an order with this restaurant. The food was good (burgers and an order of tots), but the customer service was absolutely horrible from one lady at the register. She was totally offensive to me and did not take the customer first approach that I know Smashburger to be know for. I was seconds away from canceling my family’s order due to the disrespect shown to me by this individual. She talked down to me, over me and was extremely dismissive. During my order review, she mentioned an order that unfamiliar to me. When I inquired about it, she was bothered to have to explain what it was and told her co-worker that I didn’t know what I ordered. She talked about a paying customer (me) as if I wasn’t even there and then only answered the question that I originally asked to my husband and directed all conversation to him. Completely offensive. I will not patronize this location ever again after the treatment I received. I am not one to write a review, but the interaction with this employee was so awful that I felt compelled to leave this review. In all, the food was good, but the customer service was absolutely horrific. Smashburger, please do better.

I have to say that Autumn is a costumer service Queen, she is very nice and welcoming, she took our order and suggested pretty good menu options. Needless to say we listened to her suggestions and got their herb fries they were deliciously greasy and full of herbs and flavor, the burger was nice and fluffy full of flavour, the only thing I regretted was not getting a double! My cudos to the cooks, after that our happy bellies sat to wait for our plane feeling like we eat at some fancy eatery. Thank you for that.

Good fresh burger and fries. Perfect airport meal. The woman packing up the orders was making absolutely sure all of the orders were correct (opened up my burger to make sure the tomato wasn’t there), and I really appreciated that. I would recommend pulling the line guard out further to the side, since pea-brained people will line up straight and block the walk way.

Kareem at the register didn't greet me at all and spoke very quietly, only asking my name for the order and telling me the total. I didn't like that the pin pad asked for a tip. My total for a single smash burger, a regular smash fry and a bottle of water was $22.22! Service was very slow. Everyone had at least one ear piece in their ear and there seemed to be no consistency on what part of the restaurant anyone should be working at. Once I got the food, I found the quality to be surprisingly decent! Good ratio of toppings- from sauce to veggies on the single smash burger. The smash fries were decent- I wish they were a little crispier but the flavor was definitely there.

Good food. Fast service. Ambiance? We're in the airport. Not sure what else there is to say.

This restaurant is located the the Charleston airport. Very busy, as it's the only burger/ chicken spot in the small area. The burgers are delicious, and I loved the flavoring on the tator tots; it was a bit greasy and the burger was messy. A nice, filling meal during the connecting flight; very limited healthy options. I just had a taste for a burger and it will fulfill that need. Service was just okay.

All I got was a burger patty with cheese (No bun or anything) and fries. Although I was very happy they fry in Tallow Oil, It costed me $19.49. Are you serious?! It was just a walk in restaurant with nowhere to sit. The cashiers took forever to do their job and the cooks took forever to cook!

It needs some management. There is no order to thaw giving people their food they randomly call it out. People were leaving and one person in the kitchen. HOTT mess do not go here you may leave the food so you don't miss your flight. There are no chairs or tables so you sit at your gate. Staff were nice. Food was okay.

Hidden within the overpopulated, overpriced eateries in Charlotte International Airport, Smashburger doesn't do much to stand out. But if you should happen to stop here, your tastes buds will quickly alert you that something is wonderfully different! First, you may be waiting a bit longer for your food. About seven to 10 minutes. Each order is made fresh. I ordered a turkey single. It was a nice sized sandwich, and was served hot, lightly seasoned, juicy with crunchy, tart pickles, fresh onions, ripe red tomatoes and crisp lettuce. My husband's fries were hot and just delicious. Service was "smashtastic," so very polite and patient. We had never eaten there before and took a moment to decide what we wanted. In the end, we paid just over $25 bucks for a turkey burger, a chicken sandwich, one fry and a bottled drink, but in the weird space of airport food offerings somehow it didn't seem so bad. I wouldn't hesitate to eat here again.

Service was very prompt and communicated well. Fries were unreal, very delicious. Would grab bite here again when I'm back in CLT TEN TIME

Food was alright (I ordered a hotdog and fries): the hot dog was a bit burnt. But. Extremely slow service, even when there wasn't a big line. It doesn't help that too many orders aren't right. Also, the location is weird there'll a column that blocks the screen with ready orders and causes a bottleneck for people that has just ordered that tries to go to the waiting area out of the way of people ordering. It's an airport food court, so ambiance is casual.

Overpriced, super greasy, got the order wrong, staff was super rude. Very polite and chit chatty/flirting with each other but couldn't give the customers a single glance much less anything that resembles even mediocre customer service. This place is a hot mess and likely is only successful because located in an airport. Never again.

Comically horrible service. If you have a flight to catch, don't bother ordering from here. No one has a clue or any incentive to provide orders in a timely manner.

Bacon cheeseburger, hold the ketchup and the bun. That's my keto order and that's what I received here at the new Smashburger in Concourse A near the United and JetBlue and Southwest gates. The burger was prepared fresh but it did not take long until my name was called. The same very polite and nice woman who took my order also finished and wrapped it. I received exactly what I ordered and it was tasty. The pickles were good and the bacon was excellent. But the burger? For this price, I'll stick with the Wendy's Baconator over by the Delta gates. This was Smash Burger at the Charlotte North Carolina Airport. I ordered the classic grilled chicken sandwich. It had lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo. It was delicious and seasoned perfectly. Tender chicken bigger then the bun. The bun was soft and fresh. This was the first time I had a chicken sandwich at Smash Burger. The young lady at the counter was polite and professional. Tasty chicken sandwich I'd say!!!! Not a bad price for an Airport either.

Very understaffed with a line of 20+ before noon but everyone behind the counter seemed to be having fun with it. Burger was great, served very warm and without a crazy wait. All of the delays and holdup were for people ordering weird things or asking for extra sauces. Anyone complaining about grease on the wrapping of this style of burger should probably just go vegan.

I was not Impressed by the burgers or the service. This may be a great spot for someone but I can't say I'd recommend if someone wanted to have a good burger.

If I could give them a negative 10 I would. A $12.00 burger, $3.00 large drink filled with ice, and a rude ass cashier lady. No thanks..

So stuck at airport and so hungry! Only thing in sight to eat is smash burger. Great. Dude..... I'm vegan. Just turned vegan for health reasons. I take a peak at the menu and see they actually have a "avocado black bean burger" turns out it's vegan and very good. A little different but pretty tasty! I'm happy and I didn't have to break my diet :)

Wish I could hate rated -1. Staff had "attitude" 28 minute wait for a bag full of grease! Every person who ordered waited forever. Who has that much time at an airport. They do t even drain the grease if the fries and the burger was just SOAKED in grease! Won't be coming back here again!!!

If you're flying thru Charlotte, do not stop at Smash Burger. Waited over 30 minutes for a burger along with over 10 other customers. They were not apologetic in the least for the time it took. No explanation. No food put up at all for over 15 minutes. This is the worst run location I have ever seen. Customers almost missed their flights waiting for a burger. Several asked for a refund and were given attitude.

Great burger. The fresh Jalapiño added the perfect spice to the BBQ burger. The thin fries had the right amount of salt with a good crisp on the outside while not over cooking the inside.

Was ordering burgers with my Mom for our family before boarding our flight. It was forty minutes before boarding started so we THOUGHT that was enough time to get food. Turns out it was not. We almost missed boarding and got our food just in time. No one working there had a sense of urgency one would expect in a fast food restaurant (keyword is "fast"). I have seen other reviews on here with similar stories. Despite them taking their time to make it, the burgers were still haphazardly made. This is not a good look for a popular restaurant chain. I recommend the district manager really look into this location and fix what is wrong. I do not even want to go to another location again if this is acceptable behavior for this company. I worked at McDonald's when I was in college and there were standards and times we had to abide by for drive through and in store purchases. There are more items on the menu at McDonald's than this Smashburger location so I do not think it is unreasonable to expect an order in less than five minutes. Train your employees to do better, have a sense of urgency, and respect everyone else's time especially at an airport where people need to get to their terminal on time. When I get a reply to this review about how "providing excellent customer service is your goal" this directly contradicts my experience.

Had a bacon egg cheese sandwich and it was delicious. Fresh fried egg. Perfectly cooked bacon. I have no comaints at all

First time eating at this burger shop in the airport! My daughter and I loved it!! Delicious and fresh!

Brought a nice big veggie filled salad for today's lunch but couldn't pass up the smell wafting from this place! Nor the name of this burger... double truffle mushroom burger. I have no regrets!!! Done perfectly!! Only about 1 in 10 burgers I get are done perfectly but they nailed it! Flavorful truffle mayo. Could've handled a few more mushrooms but I like burger with my mushrooms so. I did have to check the employee for a pulse but would t let that deter me from getting a burger from here again!

As a vegetarian flight attendant I frequently come to smash burger in the A CON for the black bean burger. It's such a treat, and Marylin is always so very sweet. She is an excellent asset to your team.

I want to deeply apologize to the great staff and management at Smashburger. I wrote a terrible review but realized later I meant the review for another establishment (another burger place with a similar name) I'm so sorry! To Smashburger's credit they immediately reached out to me with concern. I changed my review, to make amends. So sorry

Easy, simple menu (burgers, smashed grilled chicken, smashed crispy chicken, smashed turkey) , no line. My husband got the smashed grilled chicken and fries and I got a burger - you choose toppings. Our food ready in about 10 minutes . We thought it was good and easy and fast! Would recommend! At gate A23

Cheap, horribly dressed, (hygienic) people who don't give a flying s*** OMG I have never seen a rooder person than Alex and an old lady who makes sandwiches in the back. They work there because they have no other place to work.... (Last option shouldn't be my option!) Highly UN-RECOMMENDED.

Not a horrible burger, but very similar to fast food chains such as Wendy's including their fries. This particular location is at the extremely outdated Charlotte Douglas Airport which built a brand new terminal without any seating or tables. It is an A LA CARTE type of burger joint to expect to pay about 15+ for a what would be a combo. The service was friendly and luckily it wasn't crowded. I would probably try them again outside of the airport for a better assessment. Their burgers remind me of Wendy's burgers including their fries. They also have tots which I should have ordered instead. I can say it wasn't a greasy burger like say a Five Guys burger.

One of the best fast food burger restaurants around the Charlotte area! Will definitely visit again!!

I ordered a bacon avocado burger with fries. The sandwich was great, fries were hot! There is definitely an opportunity with the customer service though - I know this is an airport restaurant but some of the staff were not friendly at all!

Come on guys... don't dump all the grease into the fries container. Let it drain off the fries first... The grease dripped all over my pants. Then when I set the box down on the arm rest all the grease slowly oozed out. I was shocked how much grease was in there still. My pants are probably ruined too.

Meets expectation, just needed a place to grab a quite bite before flight. The lines was short even around noon. Have options for burger, chicken and black bean patty. The chicken burger with avacado, bacon was pretty good. Certainly beats the Snack Boxes on the plane.

The staff here is all kinds of rude. Only thing open by Gate A24 so we grabbed fries and a milkshake before our flight. It took forever to get our order and then our fries were up but they still have not made our milkshake. So when I inquired whether the bag that I thought he said was for us was in fact for us I got a huge attitude out of the one gentleman saying he had called us eight minutes ago (in actuality it had been less than 5 minutes) and why hadn't we come faster for our food. I told him it was because he hadn't yet made our milkshake and it would be helpful before he gets rude with customers to ensure that their whole order is up. Smash burger really needs to get the staff here in better shape because there's no reason to be rude.

The3 food was decent, but the out of control customers ahead of me ruined the experience. They ordered finally and that should have been the end of it - nope - they go to the other side of the counter and start yelling at the kitchen staff. "I want extra everything", "hey can I get some grilled jalapeños too." Finally their order is ready and so is mine, as I can see it sitting in the window. "Hey can I have ranch dressing?" "I need about 4" Of course then the staff has to get small containers and put dressing in them - Mind you they have not paid for any of this extra stuff they are requesting, plus my food is sitting while they are attempting to accommodate Mr. Entitled. Maybe teach your staff how to deal with difficult customers that are offending your other customers?

Website said they closed at 6 on Sunday but I thought I'd "play it safe" and get there at 4:38 - they were closing and wouldn't let me order. At least 3 guys working there if not 4. If you're not gonna be open when you state your hours, then just stay closed. Sad no one has work ethic anymore!

Marilyn recommended the breakfast egg hamburger with bacon!! Yummy . Also she was so sweet and pleasant! Just wanted you to know that I appreciate great customer service! She was diligent when a kid was messing up the counter and was quick to clean it up! Just great!!

I've been to better locations. Really just one. But this was an ok option when searching for something reasonable to eat in an airport. The staff was friendly and the wait wasn't too long. The food wasn't anything to write home about.

On December 13th I got there at smash burger and waited and waited the people From the kitchen could see me but no one said anything so the lady Terri had gone to the bathroom but no one said someone will be with you in a minute nobody said a word. After waiting on me Terri went to the back again and then some other people came up but no one said anything they ending up leaving. Then Terri came back and put my chicken sandwich In a bag and never said a word to me then I saw the cook in the back put Fries on the rack but nobody brought them to me I had to end up asking her for them and she acted irritated my first experience eating there and I was not impressed with the service. The food was good and the smash fries were really good.. I only have 30 minutes for lunch and had to spend it waiting and waiting..

One of my favorite restaurants so was happy to see it here at Charlotte airport in Southwest area of terminal. There was only one person at register and the line soon became long so not the most efficient service. I ordered sweet potato fries and smash burger--more expensive than normal fast food but better quality. You won't be able to earn or use your smash burger points or app here.

Ordered the breakfast burger surprisingly delicious! Bacon was super crunchy and thick, burger patty has great flavor.

Had hamburger here today about 4:30. Except for 2 ladies on front register area, all other employees, 2 slender males and another gal, were more interested in getting free Jamba juice from the cute girl next door than working the burger area. They kept watching to see if their supervisor was watching before entering and exiting the kitchen...supervisor was on personal phone in rear of shop. I won't be back...too long of wait for a burger....especially with 7 employees on the job (or not as the case will be). Only 2 people in line...me and another person in front if me.

Do not try this place. One of the worst restaurants in the airport. Staff was unbelievably rude. Cashier rolled her eyes at guests. I didn't even bother to order and left to take my service somewhere else. I wish I could rate it a zero.

Just got a chicken sandwich... meat was rubbery... the entire sandwich was like it was used to wipe down the counter it was so full of mayonnaise and pickle juice ... most of the fast food in airport is poor but this was so bad I stopped eating. Really sad brand new A terminal and Charlotte could have got it right ... used to love this airport... avoid eating here if possible
