My husband had the avocado burger and tater tots. He said the burger was good and the tater tots very good. I had the Double Bacon Smash cheeseburger with smash fries. Everything was pretty salty. The bacon was very hard. The fries were fried correctly. Pretty pricey. Nice customer service.

Burger was fresh and patty was juicy. Everything was hot and freshly cooked but sweet potato fries were overly fried so, it was little burn and hard. Onion rings were good but it was too greasy. It took over 20mins to get food.

Sad experience. Dry bland burger. Under seasoned. Burnt. Stale/dry onion rings. They tasted day old. The girl at the counter told us there was no room for us to sit when there were clearly tables open and available. Rude behavior. Ridiculous ketchup & mustard system; they have bottles available but not one for every tables. So if you miss it you’re SOL. No packets to-go or single use. Best part was the ice cold water.

Price point was great along with amazing views of the city! Staff was attentive with a super clean space for a Friday night. Burgers were good and the sweet potato fries were delicious!!

I spent $22 for Chicken Grilled Burger, Brussels Sprouts (regular size) and a non dairy Vanilla shake. The Vanilla shake was good. Brussels sprouts is a must try. The burger was not that smashing though.

Great place, the first time better than typical Burger Fi or Five guys. My wife 1st burger in 20 yrs too. Looked up Florida location, liked it so much. The manager and staff did a great job with orders, despite some crabby people.

First off, Smash Burger THE best sweet potato fries in town! However, I am writing this review mostly for the customer service of The Shimmering Sharon! Not only greeted as soon as walked through the door, her sincere gracious spirit was truly the highlight of my day. Thank you Sharon!

The four of us had burgers, chicken wings, onion rings, fries, and soda pop. The customer service was stellar--I didn't get the lovely cashier's name, but our server, Infinity, was so very professional and cheerful to boot. Place was clean, food was good, we had a great time. The end.

I haven't left a bad review in so long but this one really needs to be written. We just wanted some smash tater tots as a late night snack on the way back to our hotel. They were working on closing. They were sweeping, mopping, and cleaning counters, but what we witnessed was unacceptable. There was an employee that came to the counter where the food was being gathered into bags. He was holding a bucket with water and a rag. He pulled the rag out of the red square bucket which was gray and dirty. He proceeded to wring the towel with his bare hands. Then a bell started going off that some orders were ready. He put the wet rag down and went straight to ripping the receipts and taping it onto the paper bags and then started packing the food into the paper bags. Hand hygiene out the door. First he called one guy, and then another guy named Cesar. And then us. I just shook my head and left with the tots with every intention to just throw it away. If anyone gets sick after eating here, this is why, y'all. Cross contamination can happen, but this is just lazy and dirty. Hand hygiene is the bare minimum.

Took 3x longer than told for my order. Showed order to staff when I arrived which was the time my order said it would be ready. Waited. Waited more. Asked again. Waited. Asked again it had been sitting on the counter!!! Burgers are super salty. Chicken was tough. Fries are fine. No go for me. Ordering elsewhere moving forward.

I was craving a burger for lunch so I came here and it was good. I went during the lunch rush and it wasn't busy which I was shocked. I ordered the double bacon smashed burger with no mayo, fries, and pop (Sprite). It didn't take long when my order came. The burger and fries both were hot and tasted good. Good to see business people and tourists having lunch here. For sure I will come back.

I came here for national burger day since Smashburger had a deal for $5 per burger and at that price I'd give it a 5 star. The burger was... smashing! The burger actually had been made an hour before I came and it tasted the same as a new burger I ordered after I devoured the first one. Interpret that however you will.. but I thoroughly enjoyed both burgers. The sweet potato fries were made when I ordered, and they were crispy and tasty. The location was really clean, and the staff was friendly. It's a nice spot to stop by and sit down if you're craving for a burger while walking around downtown.

All the reviews are right, the service at this place SUCKS. The people hate their lives, they are rude and are probably forced to be there. When we entered, there was no one at the registers, so we waited to place our order. The cashier didnt even crack a smile.... weird and uncomfty. They brought our burgers to the table and threw the plates without asking who they were for (we were a party of 10). The prices..... lord. We paid almost 50 dollars for two burgers, one portion of fries and two drinks. Its not cheap, but the question is, was it worth it? Eh. The food tastes good, but its not out of this world. I would much rather have spent that money else where. My friends liked it, but we all got different things so I guess it depends. All in all, I am not a Chicago local, but im willing to bet that there are better places to eat for 50 bucks.

Came into this shop because of a heavy rain and a hungry stomach, ordered a TRUFFLE MUSHROOM SWISS BURGER, and it seems soooo good for me. Chrsipy and very good flavour. 适合中国胃~脆脆的芝士很好吃 超香！

We just got delivery of a few different burgers, wings, sweet potato fries and tots. We enjoyed it all. My only qualms were the serving of tots was ludicrously tiny. Maybe it was a mistake. Just seemed off for the container they were in. They also forgot an item in our order. Happens. But that's what kept it from 5 stars. All in all, I'd order delivery again.

This was my first time having this burger and it was delicious! I like that I was able to taste the quality of the lettuce and toppings on the burger too. The drinks that are next to the fountain drink were bomb.com. Even the wings weren't bad and fresh when you ordered them. Service was good and for the most part, everything looked clean.

Fist time visit and spent $27.00 fot two hambergers and fries. They never offered any specials. Hambergers had no seasoning on them at all very disapoinred.

This was my first time going to a smash burger, and I was not disappointed! The staff brought us our food pretty quickly, and was delicious too. I had fries, onion rings, and tater tots. The onion rings were great, and the tater tots were pretty good, but I didn't really like the fries. They just tasted like McDonald's fries with the same stuff they put on the tater tot's on them. But I did like how the tables and seats were clean, and they had music and a tv. Definitely 5 stars from me!

10/10 I would recommend employees are so nice cashier had the best customer service I have ever experienced and there NEW Mango Habanero burger is so fucking good

The service was fast . Not great customer service . Employees don't say hi , bye or welcome or anything like that. No smiles on faces . I order a classic turkey double burger and regular sweet potato fries. The burger was just ok . Fries were burnt . You can see the color in the picture. I wouldn't go there again.

The restaurant is clean and neat and the servers are friendly however for the price of the meals the food was a disappointment. The grilled chicken sandwich was just a processed piece of meat with really no taste. The sauce is good and the lettuce and onion and tomato were okay but the meat was very unappealing. The burgers were okay I could try that again but definitely not the chicken sandwich. The french fries were tasty enough and the Oreo milkshake was the best part of the meal. visiting Chicago for a few days and this is very close to where I'm staying but sadly will not be visiting again.

We ordered the double truffle mushroom burger and the double avocado bacon burger with smashtots. The burgers were pretty good and not overly greasy but the tots were covered in oil. Staff was friendly and service was fast. It's a nice quick casual quick bite on Michigan Ave.

Came here on Sunday 3/24/24 for dinner. The place wasn't too busy as there were maybe 4 people in line and about 5 tables already eating. We place our order and here is where the stars start to fall. My son attempts to order a milkshake and we are told "sorry we are out of ice cream." Ok, no big deal. That is until 2 minutes later I see a female employee making a milkshake! Another female employee yells at her "NO MILKSHAKES!" The employee making it says "it's an online order, nothing I can do about that!" So any business that is going out of their way to not provide items on their menu is an automatic turn off for me. It's a shame because the Mandarin Caribbean drink was amazing and our sandwiches were good. We ordered double bacon smash burgers and crispy chicken sandwiches. All were good. The fries were just ok. The tater tots were better. If you want to review the milkshake I guess your best bet is to order it online.

On a hot summer day, a stop here was welcome respite! Order was taken in a reasonable time. Food was prepared fresh, and was available to pickup fairly quickly. Ian loved his burger from here. Total for couple of burgers and fries was $18.38. Great place for a value meal at the end of the Magnificent Mile.

I wouldn't rush out to have Smashburger again. We ordered ahead during the lunch hour just to be safe but found the location was mostly empty except for a few tourists (which is probably who they cater to given the location). We had to wait a few mins for our order but no big deal. However, the fries were cold. For something they packed up in front of me I was pretty shocked. I guess the fries had been sitting under the "heater" for a while. They lacked flavor too- definitely not the advertised flavorful fries! I just got a classic single burger and it was fine but drowning in sauce. I had higher hopes for Smashburger and this was definitely a let down! I did not experience any problems with service like other reviews mentioned but it was noon on a weekday so that could be why.

Their mushroom Swiss burger is the business, try it! It's definitely a good burger place to keep on your list for the city of Chicago. The truffle mayo is the best! I think you will be back, if you give them a try but check it out yourself.

The veggie burger was absolutely incredible. I usually just go to shake shack or a dedicated vegan restaurant for a great veggie burger, but Smashburger is now in my regular rotation. The pickup time (on national burger day mind you) was right on schedule. Maybe it was a minute late (15 minutes instead of 14), but the only reason I know that was because I got a text right away that let me know, they are very responsive and keep you updated on the status of your order. And the order was 100% accurate and it was very big. Seemed pretty nice inside but I was just there to get food for the office.

Food that is filling but not to heavy on the stomach. Nice flavours, light and extremely good. Good, fast and friendly service. The Ambiance is what is for a fast food place but there is a light but good feeling of simplicity and home made.

I really wanted to eat here. But while I was standing in line to place my order I noticed: the older short lady that cooking is the same one verifying that larger dollar bills are real. She came from the back, grabbed the money with her gloves on, checked the money, touched all over the money. Then she NEVER changed her gloves and continued touching all over the food. NO THANK YOU!!! Do better when it come to safe food handling.

Extremely surprised how good this double burger was. I will definitely try again. Perfect meal when hopping off and on the BigBus.

I loved Smashburger when they had locations in Omaha. So when we were starving on Saturday night and didn't want to wait, we hit this place. Being off the riverwalk, it was super busy. Food was good but delivered at different times. There was a drip from the ceiling someone put a trash bin underneath to collect the water. The woman I assume was the manager did a great job. She kicked out a homeless guy that picked as bother customers sitting across from us. She also replaced our son's burger which mistakenly had cheese on it. I'm sure that there are better locations but for a reasonably priced burger, this place ain't bad.

Very tasty burger and smash tots are unbelievable. Will definitely come back to try other meals.

Smashburgers are not my typical lunch fare but after a long stroll looking at Holiday lights and decor I was hungry. I stopped in at the Michigan and Wacker Smashburger. Greeted by very friendly cashier Jeremy. I hadn't planned on eating so it took me minute to locate and pull out my wallet. He was super patient and upbeat. The store was very clean. All tables were bussed and I took a nice spot by the window. It did take a bit for my burger and fries to come out. I could see that they were quite busy with Door Dash and Grub Hub type orders. The gentleman who was expediting those orders and the cooks were all visible. They were chatting but I could see that they were focused on working and had good teamwork. The gentleman expediting was also super considerate of a man using a scooter who had a take out order, helped with his drink, etc. without missing a beat. Very nice ! So on to the burger...hot and fresh. Tasty as usual. Frankly, Smashburgers are always a more than enough to fill me up so I really can never finish the whole thing. Burger was neatly presented, but with two patties, cheese, tomato, onion, pickle, they can be a bit messy to actually eat so be sure to grab enough napkins. Fries were fine, also fresh and a good size order. Added a drink so my tab ran about $20.

Great burger last night. Single truffle mushroom and Swiss. My friend had the same and we shared a smash tots, with rosemary, garlic and olive oil. Uhhh, those tots are THE BOMB!! (Yes, I still say the bomb.) the burger was hot and juicy and that aioli Mayo perfect! Chocolate shake not huge but totally worth $6.19. The staff was very fun and friendly.

The young lady at the counter was friendly but the guy cooking the burgers was an ass. He would jump into a conversation from the counter person and say very rude things. He was being an ass to the other people he works with and shouldn't ever talk to the public.

A burger place that serves BRUSSEL SPROUTS!!! Signnnn me upppp! No but seriously this is a "fast food"ish kinda burger spot with INCREDIBLE Brussel sprouts as a side!!! They are heavenly!!!! Yes they are fried, but not overly greasy. Just cooked to perfection with a nice salty flavor. Ugh I could eat them every day! The burgers are amazing!! Better than five guys ! Way better toppings to choose from also! I can't remember which burger we got but it was soo juicy and flavorful right down to the bun! I also got a grilled chicken sandwich as I was trying to be healthy. Again, delicious and was shocked they even had grilled chicken breast. The fries are like crack- came out hot and perfectly cooked with a slight crunch. Save room for dessert! We got the cinnamon churro milkshake and fought over it. Had chunks of churros in it and was nice and thick with a heavenly cinnamon churro flavor. If you're looking for a good reasonably priced burger place, come here!! Also this place has great views of MI Ave :)

Burgers are delicious and I love the seasoned tots with rosemary garlic & olive oil. So delicious and great cokes on tap. Also the people who work there are really kind and friendly. The atmosphere is nice cuz they play games on tv of different teams.

Came to smash burger for lunch today. They were busy busy busy but i was still greeted by a friendly host, Aria who helped me place my order. Space is limited and parking is tough due to where they are situated/ prime location. I ordered the Colorado black bean burger with avocado, smash fries and an Oreo milkshake. The smash fries were thin, crispy and seasoned well with rosemary & olive oil. The bean burger was good too - the chipotle bread was soft, the cheddar and pepper Jack cheeses were delicious with all the works. The avocado add on was a great way to cool off the spicy jalapeños and chipotle sauce. The food is definitely a notch above most burger joints in the city with service and food product. For vegetarians/vegans- they don't have a beyond meat/impossible burger option but i still really enjoyed the black bean burger. I will definitely come back!!!

Iyiyi -- I haven't had a burger in years so I was excited to indulge in this Yelp event (thanks Kate)! The staff was extremely friendly and made some great suggestions! I opted for the black bean Swiss mushroom. I think it's great that you can turn any burger into a veggie burger! The umami flavors that the mushrooms and black bean patty create... it was so good that I devoured the entire thing on my drive home (I didn't even think to take a photo of it, lol). And the crispy brussel sprouts, sheesh!!! They're fried (or charred?) to perfection! Defeats the purpose of "healthy choices" but hey, you might as well indulge while you're here!!!

Food was fine. In a sane world, it wouldn't take three reminders to the staff and 15 minutes to get the shakes that I ordered to go along with our meal. Staff seemed bothered that I actually wanted the shakes.

Yelp Chicago was kind enough to treat a few Elites to a meal at this new Smashburger. It was so good!! I've never had Smashburger before, and I don't actually eat burgers so I was hesitant to come, but the menu is huge and totally accommodating. I had the Spicy Baja with grilled chicken, fries, and a Reese's milkshake. The sandwich was super fresh and actually spicy, as it was loaded with guacamole, fresh jalapeños, and sauce. Fries were good - I wish I had gotten the garlic rosemary ones though! The shake was awesome - it was made super fresh with real ice cream. Miles above the quality of shakes at places like McD's or Wendy's. The restaurant was super clean and the staff was extremely attentive. I hope this location maintains this level of service! I will definitely come back if I need a quick but delicious bite in the loop.

This is my first smashburger visit and I think it's a solid fast food chain burger. I got a classic smash with fries and pop. Veggies were fresh and the fries were crispy, soft, and lightly seasoned. Beef tasted good . If I come back, I'll probably ask for one slice of cheese but that's just me. Some people may like to taste more cheese in their burger. Good space for seating. Service was nice. Hopefully they open more locations outside downtown where it's a little easier to find parking.

Ah I'm so happy this place finally came to downtown Chicago. I got the avocado bacon club burger and smash fries. The burger was delicious and filling. I got it on a brioche bun. However, they kinda skimped on the avocado and the patty is really skinny. Might be worth getting a double patty if you're hungry. I love the fries. It's very crispy and seasoned with Rosemary. Service is great and it's very clean Inside.

Came here around 7 on a Friday evening. Wasn't busy at all! This was my first time at smash burger and I was impressed. Reminds me of a five guys or a better steak and shake. The cashier was patient with my questions and gave great suggestions. My burger and fries came out hot, which made the food taste even better. They are similar to shoe string style fries. Only downfall my shake was supposed to be peanut butter chocolate and I was served a regular chocolate shake but it was still super good! Would come back

I second the review of other customers: this is a very badly run business. It's right on a busy corner of the Loop and yet they have hardly any staff, it took well over 30 minutes to place and get our order, the place was a mess, and staff were gone for large gaps. If you are going to open a store in this location you have got to get more staff. Those working were doing their best (nothing against them) but you gotta know they knew it was bad too. Close it down or staff it up.

Love this burger spot, great service and amazing environment. The food comes out fast and great quality. The workers are welcoming with efficient work effort. Must try !!

Food was ok but overall not a great experience. We went on a Friday night around 8pm and it wasn't too busy. There were a lot of pick up orders. Most of the empty tables were not cleaned off so we did our own cleaning. The electronic menu board was so hard to read and the menu layout was pretty confusing. We finally ordered and got the following: Double smash bacon burger - good, lot of food, no complaints Smash fries - great taste, thin and crispy Blackbean burger - really annoyed this was $2 more plus $1.49 for avocado which was literally 1.5 slices of unripe avocado. I did build your own so also added lettuce and tomato. With the unripe avocado, there was not enough creaminess so I asked for a side of mayonnaise and that's when the experience got worse. There were 6-7 people standing around and it took like 5 minutes for someone to give me a mayo cup. Generally speaking, I think the food itself could be really good, but not worth the value with the overall customer experience with bad service, unclean environment and I'm annoyed with the avocado situation. Everyone who worked there seemed to really not want to be there and it showed. I won't be back.

I had placed an online order on 2/21/23 just before I left the office for the day. The order said it would be ready by 4:56 pm. I arrived at Smashburger at 5:06 pm. The doors were locked and there was a note on the door stating "Closed for a catering order. Will reopen at 5:10pm" I waited patiently waited outside until about 5:20pm and decided it wasn't worth waiting around for some smash tots, so I called the restaurant and requested that they cancel my order and refund me. The person who answered said that was fine. Flash forward to today, (2/24/23) and I see I was still charged for the order I never had the pleasure of picking up. I walked to Smashburger around lunchtime but made sure that no one else was behind waiting in line, to request my refund. The person at the counter was pleasant but motioned for her manager to assist. The manager (unfortunately, I didn't get her name) was assisting with food prep and asked if I was the one who responded online about my order. I said all I asked was to have my order cancelled and refunded. Since it wasn't refunded, that was why I was there in person. She took that as a reason to just make the order then and there. After speaking with the person at the counter again, simply requesting a refund and not placing the order for the food, she motioned for her manager again. Unfortunately, I didn't bring the card I used to place the order and I informed the manager of that and I even suggested I could come back later with the card if needed. She then huffed and looked at the person at the counter and said ,"just refund her and give her the fucking money." Here's the thing, I didn't cause a commotion, or raise my voice or anything of the sort in this restaurant. I simply wanted the refund for the order that I never received. It was not my fault that they were short staffed for this catering order 2 days ago. And they could've called me or informed me that they couldn't process my order if they were short staffed due to this other catering order. The language used by that manager was uncalled for because I did nothing wrong. It's extremely unprofessional and I don't think I'll be going to a Smashburger anytime soon. Definitely not the one on the corner of Michigan Avenue and Wacker.

Stopped in today by 11:41am and I was able to place my order, 3 piece chicken tenders & fries. Twenty minutes, later, I requested a refund...very slow service. I've been to this restaurant before and the food is good. Service is always been slow but not this slow.

Ok ... here's the deal. They place is filthy to start with with multiple tables with left over food and the floors are covered in left over food. Secondly, as I write this over 20 minutes from the time my receipt was printed I'm still waiting for my food. And no, the place is not jam packed. It's just that the kitchen crew is totally disorganized. There is "no oversight" in management. Which makes you curious as to back room cleanliness. Do yourself a favor and just avoid this place. .... And then when my meal finally got to me after 30 minutes- it was wrongly prepared. Arrrrrg.!

The one star is only for the girl that was handing out the food at the window. She was nice and tried to fix all the issues. I actually tipped the cashier and couldn't regret it more! She looked like I was bothering her to even place my order and she told me no milkshakes available today. I got my order and the first were literally ice cold and just tiny pieces! I immediately took them back and the girl there gave me another one but not much better.. I let it go, even no they were probably some of the worst fries I've ever had...completely saturated in oil, mostly tiny pieces and soggy. Then I opened my burger to find no avocado and no chipotle sauce I asked for. I again went back and the girl was nice but the cook said it wasn't on my check that way, so the cashiers fault. Then I notice all these people with shakes! WTF!?? Needless to say I'm not satisfied by any means and regret the whole experience. Including the waste of calories!

Burgers juicy and seasoned tots fabulous. Servers were friendly and wait time was about 10 minutes with a hot tasty moist burger

Unfortunately, I didn't read the reviews until after I already ordered. I only got one item (chicken sandwich) and it took around half an hour before it was ready. It was around 9pm on a weekday so I didn't expect it to be so crowded. The service here is terrible and I would save your time/money by going somewhere else.

My good friend and I decided to visit Smashburger for lunch before going to see the Chicago Ducky Derby 2022!! It was my first visit here so I tried the Classic Smash with Single patty and small Smash fries. It honestly blew my mind as everything tasted fresh and savory! I will definitely be returning to try different menus. The staff members were really nice too, truly made our dining experience better. Do try Smashburger if you are already familiar with Five Guys and Shake Shack burgers and want to try something different

Sorry but I just didn't like it. Not the cheeseburger or the fries. $17.00 for that garbage
