Today was my second time to Smith + Daughters and both times were excellent. The first was in late November 2025- I was in a party of 3 and we just ordered one of everything from the starters and mains. We over ordered (an us problem- our eyes were bigger than our tummies) but everything was delicious. My friends had been to a rather expensive vegan degustation in Elsternwick the night before and felt that the food at Smith + Daughters was better! The second time I was in a party of 2 so we did the chef's choice 4 course menu. Luckily the second time the chef's choice included my particular favourites of the fava dip (with flatbread), and white beans with padron peppers. I also really enjoyed the stuffed Lebanese zucchini, the asparagus, and the "chicken" pastilla. We also enjoyed the chocolate mousse dessert which I didn't have room for the first time. I could probably have skipped the dessert (although it was delicious) as I was sufficiently full from the savoury courses. I also wish we had a padron pepper each instead of one between two on the dish but it is a small criticism. Tonight we were served by Paris and another server who I didn't catch the name of, both of whom were friendly and attentive. Overall both experiences were 5 stars! I will definitely be back again.

Came here for sous chef Vran and mind was blown. Not a big fan of vegan food but I’m a huge fan of vegan done right since adding more flavor to non-meat products is as hard as defusing a quantum bomb. Service is really “in your face” as in they really look the part, a band of brothers and sisters in arms, always feel really fun and lively here. Thank you Shannon, Vran and the team at Smith + Daughters.

My mates and I (you may remember us as the 3 guys with the funky t-shirts!) came by this past Sunday, and what an experience it was! Every single dish we tried was absolutely fantastic. Honestly, there wasn’t a single dish we didn’t enjoy, which was such a pleasant surprise. The staff were incredibly welcoming and made us feel at home. Huge shoutout to them for being so kind and attentive. We had such a great time that we’re already planning our return. Next time, we’ll be bringing t-shirts for the team as well. Food, service, and value: all 5 stars! The only reason I’m giving 4 stars for atmosphere is because it was a tad chilly. Thank you for making our Sunday so memorable!

I’ve recently become vegan within the last 12 months and have explored as many options as I could and Smith + Daughters is hands down mind blowing for the senses. Everything is vegan, yet somehow the flavours are so familiar and comforting. The fava bean dip genuinely tasted like eating roast chicken on Christmas Day, absolutely wild! The labneh dip was another standout favourite. A friend and I chose the 4-course chef’s selection and it was sensational. With around 10 different plates, the chef’s selection package was incredible value and well worth it. Every dish was delicious, and honestly, choosing a favourite was impossible, each plate was executed beautifully and exceeded expectations. On top of the outstanding food, the staff were amazing, attentive, welcoming and incredibly knowledgeable, taking the time to explain each dish and option. I can’t wait to come back again. Thank you to the entire S+D crew, you absolutely nailed it. 🌱✨

What a great plant-based dining experience in such a beautiful, vibrant space! The staff went above and beyond to ensure we were well taken care of. The food and drinks were absolutely incredible. Oh guys if only I could give this place 10 stars!!! I read the reviews before coming and yes I read that food is amazing BUT THIS AMAZING?? it is absolutely the most delicious place in Melbourne! The people who work there are so lovely and welcoming! The atmosphere is great and it is one of those not many places where you can hear easily your companion even when place is busy. Million times yes!! For anyone coming please try gem salad, asparagus, bred (first one on the menu ) and dip (second one on the menu) as well as potatoes.

Good vibes and lovely service – it’s definitely the place to be! The food was amazing: we had several starters, one main, and still found room for dessert. Every dish was impressive, and we truly appreciated the chefs’ hard work in crafting a great dining experience. Unfortunately, each plate had a few small flaws that kept us from having that real “WOW” moment. Still, it’s absolutely an amazing place to enjoy food in Melbourne! Great job, guys!
