"Inspired by the speakeasies of yore, the bar atop the historic Smith Tower comes with serious 360-degree views that stretch over downtown Seattle, Elliott Bay, and the Cascade and Olympic mountains. Bites include potstickers and noodle bowls, and the classy vibe is perfect for special occasions. The bar also has cocktail classes for small groups." - Meg van Huygen, Harry Cheadle, Gabe Guarente

"As with the 35th floor observation deck and Observatory Bar, The Lookout’s views extend over the waterfront, downtown, the stadiums, and beyond. The historic Smith Tower underwent a bit of refresh three years ago, after being purchased by Unico Properties, a Seattle-based real estate investment and operating company. Included in the changes was the conversion of the observation deck’s Chinese Room into the current Observatory Bar. The renovation retained the fetching details of the room, including its ornate ceiling tiles, carved wood Wishing Chair, and that stunning wrap-around, open-air viewing platform. The major change involved adding food and drinks, and a ground floor general store, Smith Tower Provisions." - Megan Hill

The guy who gave us the tour made the experience 10 out of 10 ! He definitely has the heart and passion for everything smith tower related and you can tell he cared about its history and integrity. I would not want to be shown any other way than this experience with that person. He was amazing.

Make sure to have enough time to take a full tour of the history of Smith Tower—there’s more to this experience than only food and beverages. It’s $20/person just for entry to the facility so good to plan that into one’s budget. I like how characters related to the history of the tower are developed on the walk from the first floor to the second where the gorgeous elevators are located. 360 degree panoramic views including amazing views of Mt Rainer! The ambiance is classy and slightly pompous, yet casual enough to drop in only for some drinks. Domenica was our server and was very pleasant, but she seemed fairly distracted as we waited for our bill. Know that this will cost a party of 2 about $200 for entry, apps, and a couple drinks, but if ready for that, this experience was worth it!

The Smith Tower is worth checking out at least once. It starts with a small self-guided tour on the history of the building (in a mini-museum of sorts) and ends in a dining experience at the 35th floor bar/restaurant. You get amazing views of the city and the atmosphere is pleasant. Sadly, the dining experience itself is shockingly bad for a sit-down place. The menu is not just small but also very limited. They only serve $18 cocktails and appetizers like $20 artisanal flatbreads and $30 charcuterie boards. It’s not possible to have an actual meal here. I noticed in another review one of the guests drinking beer so they must serve it — but they certainly don’t advertise it! To top it all off, the food itself was not even good. Just look at the Charcuterie board in my picture. The cheese and meats and fruits look like something you’d see at Safeway, lol The Sky View Observatory at Columbia Center is a far better value in my opinion.

Stopped here to have a drink before a Sounders game. It was a cool little place to see some of Seattle's history. The views from the top are amazing!

Super fun date place, mini museum that's just the perfect could of minutes to walk through before going up to the observatory. Gorgeous view and building, love the ambiance of the bar restaurant. The kitchen unfortunately was missing a bunch of food and drink ingredients so it could've been better, but the asparagus was an awesome appetizer, and the old fashioned was solid.

Let’s just start with Amanda, who is a complete Staaah on her own. She made the experience an over the top success. Even have some good recommendations on where to go in the city. The drinks were a good pairing with the potstickers could not ask for more. Observatory Sour: flavorful Oaxacan: flavorful Potstickers: crispy outside , flavorful. Dipping sauce was also tasty.

The location on the 35th floor of the Smith Tower made this a stunning stop with an incredible view. The atmosphere was quiet, subtle cafe vibes. Not overly populated but not super empty either. Despite being quite calm, it took an hour for our charcuterie board to arrive and we had to ask for it twice. We had finished our $18 cocktails by the time it arrived. Thankfully it was complimentary at that point, but our experience was still marred. Frankly, it was overpriced, given the service and the rather "average" food. The food was good and the atmosphere very unique, but that does not excuse an hour long wait for an appetizer while neighboring tables were served their entrees.
