"If the excitement of dining at a chef’s counter is your idea of a good time, head to Smitten where the ice cream is made at all locations in front of you in about 90 seconds, using liquid nitrogen for a smoother, denser cream. Owner Robyn Sue Fisher created and patented the machine herself, which churns out flavors like salted caramel and chocolate ganache as well as seasonal options." - Dianne de Guzman, Stefanie Tuder, Eater Staff

Best ice cream in San Francisco. Must come here to the original location. Yes, there is always a line. But it's so worth the wait! Made-to-order in front of you. The liquid nitrogen brings out the most intense flavors. It's not just eating "ice cream," but eating the "flavor." Peanut Butter Banana was like eating creamy peanut butter and a ripe banana together. Bring at least a couple friends with you who are willing to share so you can try out more of the flavors at the same time. Best deal: Order the "Regular" ($6) instead of the "Small" ($5). You will get 3 scoops of "delicious heaven" instead of 1 scoop for only a $1 more.

Quaint, ideally situated next to Patricia Park, a great spot to grab some freshly made ice cream. Got a single in a cup, single in a waffle cone and a root beer float - $21.00. I got the seasonal peaches and cream ice cream. Was expecting peach pieces but instead I got a vanilla ice cream with hint of peach. It was just okay. The way they make the ice cream is pretty cool though.

At first I was skeptical, they couldn't be making every scoop! I was wrong! Ordered two scoops, both were frozen right in front of me. The Chocolate Ganache and Caramel Coconut Pecan with their spicy caramel topping were awesome

Smitten is the perfect place to go for a quick delicious snack. The ice cream has a wonderful consistency: smooth, creamy, and soft. It is made on order (with fresh ingredients) and placed in handmade waffle cups or cones. The stand has a wonderful ambiance and seeing the “brrr” machines in action is as exciting as the final product.

Cool liquid nitrigen icecream. Two scoops can be quite a lot so I suggest sharing with someone. Unfortunately no mixing flavors for any portion size.

Super tasty and unique flavor: sweet corn with berries (comes w berry drizzle syrup). Very good and would def come back. Also if you pay with paypal you get $5 off your purchase! Finished the 1st one and went back again to try the chocolate flavor. It is super chocolatey and a little too sweet. The sweet corn and berries is def tastier.

Probably the richest and smoothest ice cream I've ever had. They use liquid nitrogen to make the ice cream, and it's interesting to watch. Overall good experience and I would highly recommend it

This is truly magic happening. Prior to this I thought I’ve had my fair share with ice creams and I’ve tried quite some types and places. But after this, all other ice creams should be ashamed and stop calling themselves ice cream - it’s just sooo smooth, creamy with distinct yet subtle flavor. To be frank, the vanilla one is simple enough and taste the best. The pricing is also reasonable not that anyone would care.
