"Burgers, brisket, and sides that 'caught the attention of the New York Times—in a bad way,' presenting barbecue and comfort-food staples in the central concourse." - Eater Staff

The 14 Best Restaurants At Newark Airport - New York - The Infatuation

"The original 1911 Smokehouse in Trenton is known for heaping platters of smoked meat, and you can also get their pulled pork sandwiches and wings in Terminal A. The crispy rib tips are great for appeasing your grumpy sibling who just started a carnivore diet, and the vegan wings and black bean empanadas will satisfy just about everyone else. They have 10 different sauces like parmesan garlic and honey harlem shake, but make sure you get something with the tangy 1911 smokehouse flavor." - anne cruz

If you want dry and unseasoned food, you’ve found the place! You will need the entire salt shaker to get a hint of seasoning. The worst wings I’ve ever eaten. The brisket and ribs were tender but bland and dry. Very unpleasant and overly priced.

There are a lot of reviews that slam this place. And, look, yeah I admit that the BBQ meats aren't the most flavorful, but it's better than the one star I see in many reviews! And for an airport, the price

I'm completely disappointed with the food served. All of the meat was old and dry. Ice tea was bitter and impossible to drink. Basically we have left most of the food and left . Avoid!!!!!

Got a brisket sandwich and they didn’t even bother putting barbecue sauce on it. Unfortunately, I didn’t find out until I was at my gate, which was not close. Fries were cold and chewy. Staff was dismissive And disinterested. I clearly should’ve checked the reviews before I ordered. I would’ve been better served going to Dunkin.

I was feeling hungry while waiting for my flight at Newark airport so I stopped by this restaurant for a quick bite. I ordered the food easily enough by scanning a QR code at the table. The waitress brought me water 20 minutes later - I said hello and she didn’t respond. She brought my food about 10-15 minutes later and dropped it off with an eye-contact. She never asked if I needed anything. I decided no tip for the bad service. Was in for a surprise because they charged my credit card 20% for tip that I didn’t approve nor appreciate. This business is unethical and should not be in business. This is clearly theft. You have a right to be paid for the food not to a tip. Now I understand why the restaurant have 1.7 stars reviews. It doesn’t even deserve that. Stay away from this restaurant

This place is awful. Nachos were cold....drinks wee not served until we had to ask twice. Nothing came on the nachos accept meet, cold cheese, and sour cream. Bugs were flying all over and the floor was sticky. I don't recommend as it was also expensive. Worst BBQ I have ever had. Seems like it was yesterday's left overnight that was not even microwaved to heat the meat.

Avoid at all costs. Had the breakfast sandwich with brisket. Meat was dry and tough. Good for weather proofing the soles of my shoes but not much else. Eggs were utterly tasteless, seriously how can eggs be tasteless? Breakfast potatoes were cold, probably made in the last decade! Beyond disgusting. Do not waste your hard earned money. Literally go anywhere else in the airport

The waitress had the worst attitude. Which I understand if someone is having a bad day but they’re actively making it unpleasant to be there. Told her about my dietary restriction (dairy) when we were ordering and was asking what the kitchen cooks with and she proceeded to say she wasn’t sure what they were cooked with. I asked her to check with the kitchen if they could do any other oil to cook with but made it clear I wanted her to ask them and let me know (in case I needed to change my order). She proceeded to just bring the order out and the eggs tasted like they were cooked with butter. Didn’t even get to eat my food.
