"You’re craving smoked meats, but you’re neither in the countryside where the allure of smoke in the air leads you to the goods, nor in the city where renowned pitmasters run the streets. Enter Smokejack, Alpharetta’s OG barbecue joint, preparing classics with an all-encompassing approach to regional styles. Beef lovers shouldn’t skip the burnt ends." - Alex Leo-Guerra

We stopped in here for lunch based on the reviews. We sat outside and had a friendly server for our duration who even gave us some recommendations based on what is a popular order. As you can see from the pictures, we tried a lot of different items, and they were tasty. The fried pickles were not as amazing as some of the other food, though. This is a score to eat at if you happen to be in the area.

The food was absolutely yummy. We got the fried pickles for an appetizer. They were great. I had the 1/2 burnt ends with baked beans and the cucumber salad. Delicious. All of it. My daughter got the full rack of pork ribs with mac and cheese and french fries. It was a very large portion. It was delicious .

Google
Very good BBQ! I got the brisket plate with a side of mac & cheese and collard greens. One Cajun and one cheddar smoked sausage. The frozen blueberry moonshine lemonade is really good. Food came out extremely fast and hot. Everything tasted great. I’ll definitely be returning. (Parking is crazy)

We went on a Saturday evening when the restaurant was more quiet than usual (per the waitress), and the food is absolutely dangerous (in a good way). We ordered 10 wings as an appetizer, and these wings were probably one of the best I’ve had. Not to mention that the wings were massive. It was like they came off some Jurassic Park chickens. 11/10. Would go back again.

I'll go back. The food was great and I'm a bbq snob. The location was good in general, a fun area. The beer list was sufficient, but not great.

Great ! Fast service. A lot of space. Pulled pork sandwiches with sides brussel sprouts & sweet potatoes- all delicious! Available BBQ sauces on the table. Price reasonable for the amount of food.

Location: It took me a minute to find parking, but it was busy on a Saturday. I really didn't pay attention to the inside because I placed an order to go. I waited outside for my food, and the server opened a window and passed me my food. Food: My hubby enjoyed the rib with rub seasons, and he enjoyed the collard greens. I ordered a pull chicken sandwich, and I enjoyed it. I didn't care for the brunswick stew. It was missing something. If I am on that side of town, I will order the ribs again.

Told myself I'd write a beaming review the first time I went here, but I totally forgot so here it is on the second return to Smokejack's! First off, the service here is amazing. Both times, we got the sweetest and most charismatic server ever, Faith! She was extremely friendly and warm, and we could not have asked for a better waitress! The first time we came, we has no idea what to order and she was helpful in suggestions and advice! Furthermore, the food is delicious, fresh, and had great portions for a reasonable price! Our meals came out quickly and everything was hot and ready to eat. So far, I've gotten the burger and the pulled pork here and they were absolutely delicious. I can't wait to return and try everything else! Definitely recommend!

Yelp
OMG! My family and I usually order our food to-go, but we moved an hour away and was in the area so my mom and I decided to have lunch here and JACKKKKK you need to open another location Loganville... I'll even take Lawrenceville but please please please for me ALSO Lily needs a raise!!! She is AMAZINGGGGG her service was nothing short of awesome! The food is always good but today? 10000000/10 oh and did I mention how sweet Lily was? All of the workers are great but Lily made sure we were good at all times and the food came out quick, fresh, and delicious! I may need to make more trips to Alpharetta for lunch.

Yelp
Second visit here, but a year and half apart...so good! Brisket rocks, Mac-n-cheese perfect, and the baked beans are very satisfying. My friend had the smoked turkey, good, but I would lighten up on the sprinkle seasoning... Lovely service, hostess was very sweet, and welcoming. Waiter took good care of us. Quiet at 5p on Tuesday, really nice! Crowd was formed up by 6-6:30p. Good to see them busy on a Tuesday. The food is delicious! We had the blueberry moonshine drink, so good! Go here!

Sade C.

Yelp
I've been looking for good barbecue since I moved to Georgia in 2023. This place did not disappoint. My date and I ordered the JACK platter and my only complaint was that I couldn't substitute the pulled pork for the Brisket HOWEVER, I did not actually complain as I was completely satisfied with the portions and options included and I plan to come back to try the brisket. We sat at the bar and the service was quick. The environment is quiet and family-friendly with an outdoor seating option.

Yelp
I really loved the Barbeque at Smokejack BBQ and am so glad we came here. I'm visiting from St. Louis and heard how good the BBQ is at Smokehouse and have to agree that it's topnotch. On a Wednesday night it was no problem getting a table for the family and I and were promptly waited on and served their delicious BBQ. I ordered the Flipping Good Pig Out plate and had a half rack of ribs and 1/2 pound of burnt ends as well as an extra jalapeño and cheese sausage link thrown in as if that wasn't enough already and sneaked in a nibble of my brother's brisket that tasted incredible and will get next time for su. It wasn't easy to finish all that but I managed but sacrificed my side dishes to do so but are enough to last a full day, it was so filling. I can't wait to go back and this restaurant is at attractive one in downtown Alpharetta, GA.

Trinity N.

Yelp
We got the Texas Holy Trinity combo for takeout, for the sides we chose potato salad, mac&cheese, corn cheese, and coleslaw. it was busssinnnn ‼‼‼‼

Yelp
A group of coworkers from the local office I was visiting and I came to Smokejack BBQ for lunch. We made reservations as we were a party of about 10. We were sat down and got our drink orders as well as brought us a plate of their chips and salsa. I looked through the menu and was presented with a lot of options I wanted to try. I love barbecue, and I was told by everyone that Smokejack is the best in the area. Although the ribs were tempting, I was in a suit as I had presentation/class to teach so I decided to go for the safer route. Well, safer in that I was trying to avoid a mishap. I went with pulled pork, smoked sausage, baked beans and fries. My coworkers were right! This place makes great barbecue. The fries were nice and crunchy, the baked beans were flavorful, but the meat was special. The smoked sausage was perfect! The pulled pork was flavorful and delicious! The whole time we were talking and enjoying ourselves in here! Wonderful experience! I highly recommend Smokejacks!

Michelle T.

Yelp
Pretty good. I was visiting from California and decided to order from here on Uber Eats given that (1) they were fairly close and (2) they were still open. The food came quickly and presentation was good - especially considering that it was a to-go order. The brisket - this was really good. I typically measure barbecue by the overall taste and whether or not you can eat it without sauce. It definitely passed the test. I also LOVED that they have the option to have lean or marbled meat. Very nice bonus. Mac and cheese - it was just okay. I definitely ate all of it though Cowboy beans - I went out on a limb with this one and it was not my thing. To be clear it wasn't nasty, just not what I would look for in beans - especially ones that accompany BBQ. Banana pudding- I was pleasantly surprised. It tasted as good as it looked and I can appreciate the cookie quantity.

Yelp
We were greeted right away and seated upon arrival for Saturday lunch! Our waitress gave us a great run down of the menu and even provided us with a sample of the Mac and cheese! We ordered the Mojo wings for an appetizer and they had a great flavor! Smokey and crispy with an excellent sauce! We ordered a 1/2 slab of the Memphis ribs along with a sampler bbq plate. Everything was delicious! The Memphis rub was just the right amount of seasoning without being overpowering. Spacious dining with patio option! We will definitely return to and recommend this restaurant in the future.

Eric T.

Yelp
Located in downtown Alpharetta. Fun location and vibes here. Lots of staple bbq options on the menu from Texas to Carolina style. The service is pretty good and they do give decent recommendations if you're unsure what to get. The special platters are probably your best way to get a little bit of everything. The serving size is a lot so you better come hungry or you can share as well. Good food overall. Definitely worth checking out.

Melody M.

Yelp
The waitstaff was so so friendly and helpful with recommendations and checking back as needed. It's so rare these days to have excellent waitstaff - what a bright spot! This place is located in the heart of main st Alpharetta and easy to find. I was lucky to grab street parking out front. I noticed there are some small parking lots close by too. The blueberry moonshine was a highlight for me. Delish!

Courtney L.

Yelp
Another delicious meal at smokejack with our favorite waitress Stephanie. You can't go wrong with their delicious wings to start. Always a great meal here.

Yolanda D.

Yelp
I have been in Georgia three years and so far this has been the best BBQ. I ordered the Memphis rub ribs because I am not a lover of sauce. The ribs were perfectly seasoned and extremely tender. This is also the first place I thoroughly enjoyed collard greens and the delightfully waiter also offered southern pepper sauce. Enjoyed service and atmosphere.

Laurie H.

Yelp
$-$$ Smells delicious in here. JJ is our server and he seems very relaxed and attentive, although he tried to upsell us on food, that we would never have finished. It seemed he was almost disappointed when we only order nachos with our drinks. We ordered the nachos with brisket and the food was served hot and there was plenty of nachos to share with another person. We actually had some left over and we were both full! I had an IPA, which was quite delicious and my friend, Melody, had a moonshine infused drink, which she thought was very good. There was to be plenty of seating, and the atmosphere was very relaxed. Parking is always a little "iffy" in Alpharetta, so expect to walk to this venue.

Priscilla B.

Yelp
Ordered the brisket sandwich and it was absolutely amazing it melted with flavor in my mouth! Service was great ! And the bar was very clean! I received everything in my to go order and was happy they serve blue moon beer! I highly recommend this place

Ruthy M.

Yelp
Really good smoked bbq food. Everything was good even down to their sides !! I ordered take out & my food was still hot I love how they give you the options of half lean & half marble (it's like best of both worlds). The brisket and burnt ends were delicious. Everything here is moderately priced & worth it. The food wasn't too overwhelming but it was a bit in the greasy side. I would definitely come back here for a nice cheat meal day!

Lauren E.

Yelp
Life hack! Grab seats and drinks at Curahee Brewing and you can order Smokejack next door! There's a little window connecting the two places and they'll bring your food there. Love the pork nachos, the wings, and really everything we've had there!

Aryn T.

Yelp
Some coworkers and I attended event at Smokejack BBQ at Jack's Attic. It was delicious combination of savory Mac and cheese, pulled pork sandwich, cucumbers, and grilled vegetables. The sweet tea was delicious paired with the meal. The ambience was cozy and inviting for the conference! The service was impeccable and friendly!

Sarah C.

Yelp
I love a god BBQ place and this definitely exceeded my expectations. I was expecting it to be more touristy but the meat was very well cooked and the sauce was to die for!!!

Blake W.

Yelp
I was torn between a 4 and a 5. It's not the best BBQ in the city, but it's up there. It's sneaky good. I'll be honest, the first two times I went I was like...meh. But the more I try other BBQ in town, and compare to SmokeJack, this place keeps coming up near the top. Meat for meat...it's solid. And they do chicken with Alabama white sauce really well! Located in downtown Alpharetta, parking as always can be...well...challenging. That said, get there at 11:30a to beat the crowds and you are good to go. The spot is typical BBQ casual ambiance. Casual with wooden tables and chairs. You get the point. Service is friendly and prices are on par with everything else nowadays. Expect to spend $15+ for a solid lunch. I recommend the chicken with white sauce (bone-in or chopped on a bun). Sides are all very good. I also like their smoked sausage. It isn't my favorite sausage of all time, but it's very good. I'm a big fan of downtown Alpharetta even though I live in Brookhaven. SmokeJack is probably my number 1 spot for a lunch meetup when in the area, and friends are always pleased with the choice. Definitely worth going if you are in the area. Solid solid solid!

Yelp
Stopped by Smokejack BBQ today for lunch. It was my first time here & I was not disappointed! Was seated quickly, as they have plenty of space in the restaurant, and the server greeted my party almost immediately. My table ordered the brisket sandwich, Pulled Pork Sandwich, collard greens, Mac & cheese, fries, and banana pudding. Everything was delicious! Customer service was outstanding as well. I'm sure I'll be back again sooner than later. Definitely recommend if you're craving BBQ, and don't skip on the dessert. Some of the best banana pudding I've had in a while.

Carmen Y.

Yelp
Outstanding! I live in Arizona, so I was excited to get a taste of some true southern BBQ and this place did not disappoint. My friend and I both got the chopped brisket sandwich with a bunch of sides (cucumber salad, Mac and cheese, corn pudding and potato salad). The cucumber salad was a favorite. The brisket was lean and the sandwich was overflowing! The sweet BBQ they have in the table was also so good, we bought a bottle! The service was incredible. Our server, Chris, was so sweet, attentive and the food came out so quick! He said it would take about 8 minutes and he was right on the dot! I would highly recommend to place and can't wait to come back when I'm back in town!

Ahmad W.

Yelp
I went here for the first time on 9/23/23. I got a 6 piece wings with blue cheese and a Tex Brisket sandwich with cornpudding. The brisket sandwich comes with coleslaw which my bro likes next time maybe he will ride with me if he has free time. The food is good. Award winning I see why.

Jackie R.

Yelp
Was looking for authentic barbecue, reasonably priced, found this gem and would definitely recommend it. Service and food was excellent.

Oliver T.

Yelp
Our family came on a Sat night at 6:30. The entire area was bustling and when we arrived, they said it'd be a 30 min wait. I then asked if we could sit outside and there was no wait for it! Not sure why everyone wanted to sit inside since the weather was nice outside. Ordered the Holy Trinity with the dry rub and a beef brisket plate. Though there were four of us, we don't generally eat a lot, so it was enough food for all of us. The ribs with dry rub was excellent. You have the option of getting the ribs with their sauce, but since they have the same sauce on the table, it's better to get it with the dry rub. We got the mix of marbled and lean for the brisket and it was tasty as well. Stephanie did a great job serving us and stopped by our table several times to make sure we're OK. Glad we stopped by here for dinner. We enjoyed the food and service as well as the sidewalk ambiance.

Yih R.

Yelp
An absolutely amazing place. We got a great spot and people here are so cool. We got fried pickles and they are so good! This is my first time having them and for sure want to have them next time. We are a big group and we all ordered different things. They are all delicious and cool. I think the chicken thighs were the best, my pork ribs with sausage follows by, and the Cobb salads being my third. The burger was a bit too greasy. But when I heated up the leftover the next day, it was a lot better. The service is here cool too, people are fast and obliging. We have old people in our group and they were accommodating us and got us a bigger table. I will try here another time for other dishes.

Jenna L.

Yelp
Another great find in Downtown Alpharetta! Our server was amazing. He was knowledgeable, friendly, attentive, and had great suggestions. We ordered the fried pickles...some of the best I've ever had so if you're thinking of getting them...that's a yes! The fields of green salad was also surprisingly fresh and delicious. We split a large salad and the dressing it comes with is great! All in all, the brisket, jalapeño sausage (very spicy), pulled pork, baked beans, and Mac n Cheese were all great. Get a bunch of different stuff and share so you can partake in all the goodness.

Cameron S.

Yelp
Smokejack is one of my favorites in Downtown Alpharetta! The Cubano Pork sandwich is DELICIOUS and their sauces are hard to beat. Decent local beer selections on tap and a pretty broad BBQ menu makes this place a must-stop for anyone looking to grub in Downtown Alpharetta!

Apple K.

Yelp
Everything was delicious the service is also friendly and efficient. Try the sausage, it's excellent. The ambience is casual, there's a full bar as well

Lisa M.

Yelp
Finally tried Smokejack for dinner. Best meal of the night was brisket sandwich (1/2 lean 1/2 fatty) with spicy bbq sauce on texas toast & "jacked up" - meaning added pickled onions, jalapeños & cheese. Absolutely fabulous! Enjoyed the greens as a side & loved the habanero vinegar that was offered to go with them. I love a place that knows spicy vinegar is a must on greens! Pulled chicken was good. Burnt ends had a nice smoky flavor, but not my favorite. Pulled pork nachos were yummy. We were too full for dessert. Spicy sauce & the mustard sauce were both excellent. Basic sauce was just ok. Great service. Will definitely be back.

Robert V.

Yelp
I can't go down south and not get BBQ. This place was recommended by my local office mates and it was fantastic. I had marbled brisket, burnt ends with Cole slaw and corn pudding. Everyone in our group enjoyed all the food. Very reasonably priced and service was perfect.

Erika S.

Yelp
I'm very confused by the glowing reviews. I ordered ribs and chicken and there is no way either saw a smoker or grill...maybe a gas grill. The meat didn't even leave a bbq smell on my fingers. This food was cooked in the oven. It also had no smoke rings on either meat. The greens were ok a little sour for my liking and the potato salad was a no for me I just didn't like it.

Elazar W.

Yelp
During my visit to SmokeJack, I had the pleasure of being waited on by an exceptionally friendly server. My meal, THE JACK, was a delectable combination of Pulled Pork, Burnt Ends, Smoked Chicken (each 1/4 lb), 1/2 Rack Pork Ribs, 4 side choices, and 2 slices of Texas Toast. Although the portion size was generous and somewhat challenging to finish, I was pleasantly satiated, a rare occurrence when dining out. The establishment boasts a clean and tasteful decor, making it an inviting atmosphere. I undoubtedly plan on returning to celebrate my birthday.

Jordan S.

Yelp
Great spot and great BBQ. Walked in on a Saturday at 6:30pm thinking it may be tough to get served. But we were pleasantly surprised being greeted immediately and nicely, then being taken to a table with no wait. Got lucky scoring a high-rise table in the front window so we got to do some great people watching and a co-ed cornhole game while waiting for our order and dining. Our server was prompt, polite and knowledgeable. We weren't real hungry but were definitely in the mood for some good BBQ. They did not disappoint. We got the "Son of a Gunn". It's a meal for two and included a little of several items, including brisket, turkey, jalapeno smoked sausage, pulled pork, collard greens, cucumber salad and Texas toast all at a reasonable price. It was all good and the choice of their original and along with a mustard sauce topped the meats off perfectly. Plenty of seating inside, out front and in the rear with lost of space and a fun, lively atmosphere. There was a live band playing, as well.

Susie F.

Yelp
The food and service here are consistently amazing. The burnt ends are always cooked to perfection and the flash fried Brussels sprouts are a must-try. It's worth the drive every time.

Tyler T.

Yelp
First time dining here and no complaints. Jo was fantastic and had us wanting to come back before our trip was over. Jeremy was our server tonight and nailed it with service, jokes, and the overall experience. Can definitely recommend those two servers and would recommend the food to anyone. Thank you Jo and Jeremy!

Yelp
Went to get my car washed today and I was I was walking towards my usual lunch spot I noticed it was closed so I decided to give smoked jack BBQ shot. I walked by this establishment several times and noticed that it was very neat. Very clean not exactly what I would consider to be your typical barbecue joint, but I said hey why not . My first issue was with the menu, it's a breitl wall menu, but the description of some of the choices left me scratching my head. BBQ menu should be straightforward if the foods good, there's no need to be cute! I ended up ordering the brisket sandwich with cowboy beans as a side. I was offered the choice of lean fatty or combination of the two for my sandwich. I chose Lee, I really don't like fatty brisket when I cook my light trim it very close because I like a nice lean cut. Oh, what I received was a sandwich made of two pieces of Texas toast with some of the fattest brisket I've ever seen in fact look at the pictures. The sandwich was mostly fat. The cowboy beans tasted like basically a pinto beans too. It had a nice flavor to it, but it was not very well season . The best part of the meal was the Texas toast and the three pickle slices that they added as garnish. Other than that I was definitely not impressed! This is not a place at this point in time that I will choose to return to! If you're looking for a great barbecue, I would say find another spot!

Lynn B.

Yelp
Local bbq favorite. Sides are really good - can't go wrong with the greens, beans or cole slaw. Brisket and ribs are tender and juicy. Banana pudding has a decent cookie to pudding ratio. Try the blueberry moonshine lemonade frozen -- hits the spot on a hot day! Our waiter, Chris, with the baritone voice, checked in multiple times, to make sure we had everything we needed.

John K E.

Yelp
Alli Hill at Best Things Georgia ranks this 3/10 BBQ restaurants in the state, so I decided to make a dinnertime stop here en route from Nashville to Atlanta. Alpharetta is charming, and full of popular restaurants, so parking was predictably nightmarish (there is a public ramp, but I never saw a sign to this effect). But it's worth the effort. The restaurant is, in keeping with its setting near the town center, upscale, and the service was excellent (thanks, John). I ordered a pulled pork sandwich, which came lightly sauced, a side of corn pudding, a slice of homemade key lime pie, and a refillable soda (Coke products). The bill came to $20.42 plus tip. All three items were top-notch; indeed, on a return visit I would ask for the sauce on the side because it only serves to conceal the otherwise smoky flavor of the meat. So, very good 'cue in an attractive setting. Alpharetta is well worth a visit.

Yelp
I tried Smokejack BBQ one day when derping around in Alpharetta. There's a ton of pretty good looking spots in Downtown Alpharetta. I'm happy to report that Smokejack is a great spot. I ordered the Flippin' Good platter under the Pig Out section, because I'll never fully get rid of the inner fatty that has propelled me to the great heights which I've reached in my life. Flippin' Good platter comes with 1/2 lb burnt ends or brisket and 1/2 rack of ribs, two sides, and Texas toast. Went with mac n cheese and fries for my sides. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time, and everything was truly amazing. Too many barbecue places become overly reliant on sauce, and they don't give enough attention to the meat. At Smokejack, I was able to taste the incredible flavor of the meats. Sides were high quality and also delicious. It's always a risk to get low quality mac n cheese [which I know some people some reason prefer], but Smokejack fortunately serves the baked goodness with a nice crust on top. A few imperfections certainly exist. They have Texas Pete rather than the vastly superior Tabasco. There's a downright silly printout of "suggested additional tip" at the bottom of your receipt. I tipped 20% and found it cheesy. I can't imagine what the weirdly passionate anti-tip crowd must think of it. The imperfections don't take away from the fact that Smokejack BBQ is the best barbecue I've had in Metro Atlanta, and that includes Fox Bros.

Aiden P.

Yelp
I like the barbecue here, it's good and stuff. I like the server Jeremy, he is nice, and I like his watch. I really like the fries very much. I want more. But I believe that's the point. I would recommend this to anyone that wants good food. My dad also liked his food, because he likes anything peanut butter.

Kayla Q.

Yelp
Went on a Saturday around 11am we were sat right away. Our server was great along with the others that helped us. We both ordered the porkzilla with a side of fries and potato salad. All our food was good and we got it quick.

Yelp
My family and I moved here from Austin Tx about 8 months ago. We have struggled to find bbq anything even close to tX bbq since we came here. We tried a few locations but sadly they just don't even come close... until we ate at Smokejack BBQ! This place has it going on!! It is in down town Alpharetta and the parking is jacked! It is truly hard to find a spot. But once you do and you step out of the car a truly heavenly smell will draw you right into the location. Haven't smelled bbq like that since leaving Texas! We walked in sat down and decided to try it all! We started with the fried pickles... as Mr Texas says: "they were slap your mama good!" Fried just right with a little heat dusted over them... they were great! For the main meal we got Cajun and jalapeño cheddar sausage, brisket, pulled pork, ribs and the sides of fries, mac n cheese, a cucumber salad and some kind of seasonal veggie. Everything was drop dead fantastic... accept the veggies. The pulled pork was juicy and tender, the brisket was sooo very tasty, the sausages were good but the cheddar jalapeño was "ohhhh My GODDIE tooooo Darn HOTTIE!!" Good!! Even the fries were perfect... thin with a crispy outside... just the way God intended fries to be! We are saved!! There is good BBQ in Atlanta!!

Sher J.

Yelp
The food is fantastic. 5 . You can sit inside or out, both are fun. The waitstaff is great. The one bad experience was the hostess. We were there on 9/27/23. She was extremely rude. She acted as though it was a bother to help us. I asked for an outside table and was curtly told there were none. I told her that there was and she walked off saying nothing. When she took us to our table it was really wet. I asked to have it wiped and she replied "It will dry" and walked away. I dried it which would normally not have been a big deal but the awful attitude! Sheesh! I love this place and will continue to patronize.

Shavone G.

Yelp
Found this spot in a foodie group I am in. Blackberry moonshine on the rocks - My first question is always "Whats the sweetest drink on the menu" The waitress said this was one of the sweetest drinks on the cocktail list. I was skeptical because of the moonshine but this drink was actually really good. It does give sneak up on you vibes. Flippin good - Memphis ribs and the brisket (fatty) with fries and cucumber salad. The cucumber salad was a bit spicy. The ribs and brisket were good. I would definitely come back if I was in the area. I was expecting more in regards to service based on Yelp reviews. I think the service got better towards the end.

Christy C.

Yelp
I had dinner here on a Friday (10/14/22) as we were able to walk in with a party of 5 without a reservation with only a short wait for a table. Smokejack BBQ has your standard BBQ meats and plates, served on metal trays covered in paper and several BBQ sauces to accompany everything. Our server was very friendly (Liam) and when he didn't know the answer to a question would make sure to go find someone who did. For food, we all shared: *SJ Queso & Chips + pulled pork - not great should skip and focus on bbq *The Jack: Pulled Pork, Burnt Ends, Smoked Chicken (1/4 lb each), 1/2 Rack Pork Ribs, Choice of 4 Sides & 2 Slices of Texas Toast *Sides: Brunswick stew, potato salad w/bacon, cucumber salad, Mac & cheese I really enjoyed the ribs. The meat was tender and easily came off the bone. I also thought the jalapeño sausage was nice and juicy with just the right amount of spice. I thought the burnt ends kind of just tasted like burnt meat and we did not enjoy the Brunswick stew. GLUTEN FREE TIPS* When asked about their sauces I was told that only Carolina reaper sauce not safe to eat. Other than that I felt fine eating here and did not get sick after. *As of November 2021 my reviews are written from a celiac, gluten free perspective. Please note that while I must eat gluten free, I am personally not concerned with cross contamination. I recommend researching online (like the Find Me Gluten Free app) and calling ahead for your own personal needs.

Yelp
I have been coming here for years, and I am glad it is still around. They put out a solid product, to say the least, and hell, my best friend had his wedding reception upstairs, that has to say something about it, yea? I will admit though, as the years have passed, I have had some odd encounters with staff, seemingly made-up rules on things on a whim (on where you can eat or drink), or just peculiar things of that nature. With that being said (and a pandemic going on), I lately have been strictly doing take out. I have noticed though, at least the exterior has gotten a makeover- I trust the inside may have to? I mean, it has been open for quite some time. The one thing- my brother in law, is the pickiest eater I know (besides his sons, wonder where they got it from). This is one of his favorite places to get burnt ends. They can though, be costly (which I understand, great brisket can be costly, and the labor involved to make it even greater is time consuming) @ about $21 a plate (I think it comes with 2 sides though). So, if we have family dinners, this is what we will end up getting. I would usually get the 2 or 3 meat combo with a bunch of sides. I will say this, I do very much enjoy the majority of their sides, with the creamed corn being my favorite. I will eat pretty much any other side as well. For the meats, I usually go for the burnt ends, brisket, pork or sausage. I mean, everything is usually pretty solid no matter what. I mean, they have been doing this for years. My last meal there, I ended up getting a burger. Laugh all you want, but it was a refreshing change from the ol sausage and brisket plate. That was nice to know as well. I guess it is safe to say as long as my sister and BIL are still around, we will be getting meals from here. I will keep trying new things, because why not. Maybe one day I will dine in again there to see how it has (if it has) evolved over the years. If I like bbq, I suggest checking it out- really not bad for local stuff!

Yelp
Hosted an event here for work and it was spectacular! Brook and Fran were a delight to work with- called me back often and followed up promptly. I asked lots of questions about food specifics and they were quick to come up with solutions that were still well within my price range. We hosted the event in the attic. The one thing I will say is I was promised the patio last minute but on the day of the event, it ended up still being in the attic. It was a big deal but the patio would have been more fitting for our attendee population. There was a self serve area for drinks available which was nice. The decadent banana pudding also sat on this table. Our buffet style arrangement included two meats- pulled chicken and pulled pork, cornbread, coleslaw, homemade pickles, Mac and cheese, and garden veggies. One of our guests arrived late and the lady serving us was kind enough to grab her to go containers with additional sides since we had already ran out. Overall, wonderful place to host event! Definitely encourages me to come back and eat.

Yelp
They must've gotten different cooks. Friday afternoon I ordered ribs and they were tougher than a rock and fatty. Burger was tasteless and bbq sauce tastes different in a bad way. I used to love the ribs here but I don't think I'll dine here again.
