Smokin' Brew-B-Q

This wasn’t just one of the best food truck barbecue spots I’ve tried in Austin, but one of the BEST barbecue spots hand down in all of Austin. The loaded mac & cheese was so filling and delicious. I added on some coleslaw and potato salad that rocked my world. Highly recommend if you need a quick good meal at a reasonable price!

Pretty good BBQ. This is part of a larger food truck area with an outside eating area and other options ( pizza, coffee, a bar). The BBQ was delicious--and little salty, but good flavor and tender. Their sauce is mustard based, which is not my preference but it was still very tasty. The mac and cheese yummy. Their beans were just ranch beans with brisket on top, but decent. The outside area had misters and shaded seating so eating outside in 90+ was comfortable.

OMG! This place was so freaking good! I got the loaded Mac n Cheese. 😋😋😋😋 It had mac n chesse (of course) brisket, jalapeno with a buffalo sauce on top. The place is next to a bar which they have a nice outdoor seating area with a projector screen. It also looked like they have live bands on some night. I went during the day, but there was still people hanging out enjoying themselves

I rarely order delivery these days, but decided to give this spot a try. Wow! The brisket was so moist and delicious! The best potato salad I’ve had out in a long time for sure. Pleasantly surprised and happy!

Maybe we got a bad night, but no. I don’t like giving 1 stars as things happen. I should have taken a picture of my brisket tacos, very juicy but messy. Flavor was okay, but the pickled onions were not on point. I love me some pickled onions but damn. I was excited too. Coleslaw was flavorless. Only tasted mostly pepper. Again, maybe it was a bad night. Hopefully next time we come to drinks it’s better.

The meal presented significant issues. The coleslaw and ginger side appeared spoiled. The chicken was undercooked and exhibited signs of age. Furthermore, the bread packaging was improperly placed atop the beans.

Ok, pre-facing this post...we live by Drinks we have ate at Smokin Brew's several times and have tried many menu items and everything is always absolutely delicious! But this is the 2nd time we've ordered the fried pickles and the 1st time I thought for $9 it wasn't much quantity, but chalked it up because they are good. Maybe just an off day. We ordered them again just yesterday and what we got was absolutely ridiculous! For $9 it's expected you are ordering more than a SIDE item quantity amount. I would have expected the little paper tray to be full, instead they put the burger on the tray and literally threw a small HANDFUL amt.. 8 small sliced pickles to be exact. When you remove the burger from the tray (see pic) look how ridiculous that looks! That's not worth $9 at all. You can go anywhere and order fried pickles at a bar and get 3xs that amt for 9 bucks. Their menu states it's a "BASKET of delicious pickles..." ...word BASKET is so misleading.

We sought catering for a special event, prioritizing affordability, quality, and quantity. Our expectations were exceeded. I highly recommend this team for any catering needs or casual dining. The entire experience was seamless, affordable, and exceptionally satisfying. I am deeply grateful. I wish I could post a picture of the food, but it was so good there was nothing left. what a fun spot! we ended up coming here on our way out of the airport and loved how there was live music on a friday evening. lots of open space, would be good for an outdoor gathering. food was overall pretty solid but it did take a while to be done. they're very generous with their meat portions in the tacos and even the mac and cheese which was nice! for the location and what we were looking for, it suited our needs quite well however the bbq was average

Had a good selection. I got the brisket and pulled pork. Both were moist and favorable. The Mac and cheese was also very good. The price seemed fair for BBQ. Plenty of room to sit and eat in the open venue behind it. Just be aware you should park in the back unless you are getting it to go.

I was looking to try some BBQ in Austin & looked through the yelp reviews as there was many places with 4 star reviews & up, so I thought I was in for a treat... so I thought. - Brisket, Pulled Pork & Sausage with Mac & Cheese/Baked Beans 1/5: The brisket was so dry that I could not finish eating it. It was also lukewarm & it did not have much flavor to my disappointment. The pulled pork had much of a similar story & it probably was by far the worst pulled pork I've had. The sausage was okay not much flavor to it but it was the best out of the 3 sadly. The mac & cheese was really upsetting it had a chalky powdery taste to it that I could consume it anymore. The baked beans was to me star of this plate, the beans were seasoned nicely & it had rich flavor. Lasty the BBQ sauce was really bad I could believe it. Overall I was purely disappointed since this BBQ place had really high reviews for something that does not meet those expectations. - Fried Pickles 4/5: The fried pickles were surprisingly good after so much disappointment earlier. Very crispy the batter & the pickles inside were very delicious as I love me a good pickle.

Their brisket was incredible!!! Sausage- incredible!! Even the tots and slaw were.....yep, incredible. If you haven't had it yet you need to run (not walk) and reward your tastebuds.

Smokin' Brew-B-Q is an easy 5 stars. I worked with Nick to cater a work event and he did such an amazing job. He was super responsive, helpful and even accommodated a last minute date change without jeopardizing the integrity of his food. You can tell he's passionate about what he does because it shows in the food. We had trays upon trays of tender, smoked brisket, pulled pork and beer can chicken. The mac & cheese, beans and coleslaw were wonderful sides and we topped it off with some decadent banana pudding. Everyone loved the food and everything was cooked perfectly. Smokin' Brew is very reasonable priced and the BBQ is top notch. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them or use them again in the future.

The gentleman at the front was extremely rude and didn't have time to tell me what meat sides he had and told me to look at the menu. When I I told him chicken, he told me they were out. I would not recommend this place and find somewhere else to get bbq. The brisket and Mac was terrible on top of it!

Absolutely fantastic brisket sandwich! Went for lunch, came back to get a take out of four pounds to spread the love to the whole crew. Great freakin stuff served up fast with smile

Damn man. Austin is food truck overload but between the amazing burgers, fire a** chicken and unbelievable pimento bites, this place kills it. If you're even remotely on the Austin social media scene you've heard about this so give it a look. Also for those of you living southeast Austin b*tching about the lack of options, drinks backyard plus Smokin' Brew-B-Q is a can't miss combo....also...that banana pudding? Get. In. My. Mouf.

Been wanting to check this place out since it's in our neck of the woods. Glad we did. We weren't too hungry so decided to get a small, shareable snack and ordered the nachos. Shareable they were alright. Massive amounts of nachos loaded with brisket, pork, beans and queso. This monstrosity was a beauty. What a masterpiece. Loved all the ingredients and how well they all went together. This thing was so big, we ended uo taking half home. Also ordered a side of sausage that was so good and juicy. The area where they're park also serves cold, frosty beverages and there's plenty of seating either by their truck or in the area.

Some of the best beef brisket that I've had in Texas to date. Mac n cheese, brisket bbq beans, and Cole slaw were all on point. Jalapeño smoked sausage was good, had a real snap to the casing. The banana pudding should be "world famous" if it's not already. Definitely worth trying, the outdoor patio area at Drinks Backyard is an awesome place to sit and eat your bbq.

Travel from California and stop by this nice place ! The food is good. We jumped in to eat and forget to take pictures. We ordered several 3 meat meals and they are all good.

Amazing bbq yet very disappointed to stop by on my birthday with an online order stating would be ready at 8:30 pm for over $200 to state that wasn't ready and no urgency at all while stating that wasn't ready and would be at least another ten to fifteen minutes. The food is amazing and love it, this why we drive all the way here yet service was less than would expect today and hopefully will adjust service times or will adjust customer service upon pick up.

Use to love this place. Order from them about 3 times a month. Tonight we placed a doordash order and they literally only sent one of the 4 orders without letting us know. I would have cancelled the entire order then to only feed 2 members. Guess they knew that, so they sent it anyway.

So my wife and I have been going to drinks backyard since not long after they opened in 2023. The smokin' Brew-B-q at their location is AMAZING! Everything we have ever had there is Fantastic! The brisket, smoked wings and pulled pork are top notch! Additionally , the staff are by far some of the best and most knowledgeable BBQ people I have ever met! Definitely worth every penny I have spent there over the last 2 years! Definitely try the the brisket, smoked buffalo wings, pulled pork sandwich and their seasonal brisket chili!

I'm really glad we discovered this food truck. It's a part of the Manchaca Saloon area next to a couple other food trucks, a bar, and a stage with plenty of outdoor seating and lawn games. I can definitely see myself hanging out here with friends on a beautiful day. So far, we've tried the pulled pork, baked brisket beans, and coleslaw, which were all a slam dunk. Delicious! The pulled meat on top of the baked potato was good, but the potato itself I probably wouldn't order again. Everyone I've interacted with that works at this food truck has been kind and helpful. I'll definitely be back!

Recently moved and was searching for a local bbq spot. The service was rude. I was immediately greeted with a "What?". It might be me but people mostly great you much nicer than a "what". I ordered the brewskis classic burger. The burger was Packed with mayo. I just couldn't continue eating it because the first bite was just awful. My partner order the sliced brisket sandwich and wasn't impressed. Don't get me wrong, we weren't expecting gourmet, but we've definitely had better. I'd rather drive a little further out for better food. The customer service just wasn't there. There is bar next door, so it probably tastes better after a few drinks. I don't drink so I wouldn't know. I don't plan on going again. But hope you have a better experience.

Make sure to get the smokin Mac burger. It's the bomb! Pulled pork sandwich. Also delicious. Went here with my son on his work trip if you like barbecue this place is for you.

Great food all around! Was I just really hungry or was this one of the most solid bbq spots in South Austin? I ordered chicken just to be different and it might have been the best moistest chicken I've ever head. Juicy without the greasiness of fried chicken. A+ I'm normally pretty disappointed with sausage because I was spoiled on excellent deer sausage growing up. I got the regular and it had a nice kick to it. A+ The brisket was yummy too. A nice mix of lean and moist. What about the sides? Mac and cheese was A+. Both the littles and bigs enjoyed. I liked the peppery beans. Everything was very black pepper forward and spicy which I loved but that might not be for everyone. I'm shocked at how good this place was.

We got a 3-meat plate (pulled pork, ¼ beer-can chicken & moist sliced brisket) with 2 sides (Mac & cheese & tots) plus an extra side of potato salad. Chicken was moist & had good flavor in the meat. Rub was a bit strong on smaller pieces like the wing. Pulled pork was tasty, although I'd have thought it would have more of a smokey taste. Brisket was good, especially where the rub was. The beer can bbq sauce was very good, just wish more was included. Mac & cheese was different...probably because of the mix of cheeses. Tots were...well, tots. The potato salad was good. Tasted somewhat like store bought. I will say it took some time to figure out how to place the online order for pickup. Apparently, there are 2 locations with different names that offer the same menu. Once we placed the order, we received text updates & knew when the order was ready for pickup. We also greatly appreciate the use of some compostable containers and bags.

Great Q! I like me some good bbq on the first warm day of 22. Wanted to maximize the experience so we split a 3 meat plate. Moist brisket is awesome! Nice bark. Smoke ring. Great beef flavor. Sausage is from Hudson's and was well cooked and flavorful. Beer can chicken was moist and tender. Great flavor - you could actually taste the beer. Friend got a pulled pork Sammie and said it was top notch. Sides are good, especially the beans - Nick uses leftover brisket. They were a little "soupy" but tasted great. Venue is nice, too. Looks like a winning combination.

Really good food! So nice to have something new to south east Austin. Brisket beans are 10/10. Cole slaw is not great, too much pepper. But the potato salad is very good. Turkey is seasoned well and tastes great, same for the chicken tacos. Chicken is not dry and has great flavor, also a generous portion of protein in the tacos, it's not all "filler". I would have submitted a picture but I ate it too fast. :)

The owner is incredibly friendly and the food is solid. Their banana pudding dessert is delicious, and I like the briscut sandwich and Smokin Mac burger as my go to entrees. My fiancé also likes their sausage wraps as well.

Nick and his crew did a great job catering and event for the business I work for. Everything was delivered on time, was hot and they served everything. We did the three meat trio with beans, creamed corn, potato salad and banana pudding. Reasonably priced and easy to coordinate with. I recommend Smokin Brew B-Q for a catering event. Nick was very kind and so was Ed!

Brisket is always great but don't miss their smoked turkey or beer can chicken. So good!

Everything was so good! The only thing lacking is the barbecue sauce, as it was very mild and we like it sweeter and spicier.

I showed up here on a Saturday before opening and was welcomed in anyways. I admired the offset pit where the smells of post oak wood and meat filled the air. The owner invited me to check out the smoke box and told me the story of how he acquired it. I ordered the brisket tacos and holy $@?! The best damn tacos I have ever had. From the customer service to the food, This is true Texas BBQ. I will be back!

Very nice bbq after a long flight. Open air seating which was nice. Slaw was nice too. Beans were not sweet but that was a plus for me.

I booked Smokin' Brew for a 55 person work catering event. Nick was great to work with. Super responsive and made everything easy for us to manage. Everyone was raving about the BBQ. We had a major glitch in our planning (100% our fault) but Nick did not flinch, and still delivered above and beyond for our event. Thank you so much for everything!

Smokin' Brew is a solid option for really good BBQ without the hassle of crowds and lines. Had some friends visiting who wanted good ole Texas BBQ while here. But one also was traveling with a (neurotic) dog, so that led us to search out new spots beyond our usual out-of-town-visitor standbys. This ranks high on my BBQ list--not the top top, but it's dang good, especially for coming out of a truck! We split a 3-meat plate and went with the brisket, the beer can chicken, and (at the owner's recommendation) the turkey. My favorite was the beer can chicken. The brisket was tender and tasty, but slightly under salted and over peppered for my taste. The turkey was good, but just a tad on the dry side. We also had the smokin' tater, which was probably everyone's favorite thing on the table. One friend liked it so much, she ordered a second one to-go to eat the next day! Our sides were mac & cheese and potato salad, and both were really tasty. We also really liked that this food truck park shares a lot with Manchaca Springs Saloon, so we could just walk over and order drinks to take back to our picnic table. They have an outdoor stage with music, too!

Tried the lunch special with brisket. ordered the meat "moist" and it was a nice balance of lean and fat. The slices had a nice crust, very black pepper forward. highly recommend a visit when in the area.

WOW. This place is so good!!! The beer can chicken and the pulled pork tacos were both amazing! Yummy mac n cheese. Yummy beans. Yummy slaw. Yummy pickled red onions. The sauce was an interesting riff on a bbq sauce- tasted like apples and beer. Tasty, and a good compliment to all the black pepper in the meats. Some of the best bbq I've had, highly recommend!

I ordered a Smokin potato, potato salad, and Mac and cheese from Uber eats. Holy cow it's amazing. Didn't know what to expect but y'all have a fan in me now!!

The sauce is a hard no. Tastes like old beer with sugar in it. I like the pickled items that came along.

Everything my husband and I got was packed with flavor, so tender and juicy! The slaw I had on my sandwich was fresh and crunchy, perfectly complimented the smoked turkey. My husband got the pulled pork tacos and they were delicious! Needless to say, if you want good barbecue you gotta stop here!

Fun place to eat at. I love their bread they use for the buns. Meat is good. Not dry. Banana pudding is yummy. Will come back to try tacos!

So, this was a bit of a chance encounter and boy was I surprised. My work got everyone a grub hub gift card which I'd been saving. This place ended up being close-ish to my house and only BBQ spot. Long story short, it was amazing and I'm so glad I came. Cole Slaw might be the best in Austin for my taste. Nice bit of spice That came on at the end of each bite. Brisket was amazing. Like I'm not sure why I'd wait at Valentina's w the quality they put out. Also, Don't sleep on the pulled pork. More of a Smokey carnitas vibe. Amazing. Not overpowered by whatever sauce it gets rolled in at the end. I could have had a whole plate of just pulled pork and Cole slaw. Max and cheese was also a separator. Like the rigatoni-esk large elbow noodles. Smokey savory cheese sauce. Add the charm of the old-time Austin saloon that shares the space and this spot makes for a killer stop that I'll be back for!

Food is amazing. Breakfast burritos are and the Brisket Mac & Cheese is unreal. Honestly haven't had anything from here I haven't liked. Definitely recommend

If you're looking for great bbq that has delivery options - this is your best bet. Highly recommend the turkey, moist brisket and whole chicken. If feeding the kids - make sure to cut the trim - it's got great spice to it so it might be a little hot for them. The sides were a huge hit too - potato salad, cole slaw and Mac n cheese... all so good. Unsung hero is also the banana cream dessert. Will order again. So good.

Beat BBQ in Manchaca, great atmosphere and good food. The banana pudding is to die for.

This place is awesome. I used it to cater a work luncheon and the food was fantastic. It was ready on time and everything was correct. We had brisket, chicken, sausage and turkey along with potatoe salad, cole slaw and the best beans ever. Oh, and banana pudding to make your mama cry. All of it was fresh, flavorful and yummy. We had enough left over for people to take some home and we were fighting over it. Luckily I won the chicken battle. We will use them again and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for some good BBQ.

Ok, we tore into the food before I was able to get pictures. We got the half chicken, brisket and the grillin mac & cheese ( I think that's the name if it). Everything was phenomenal!! The meat was flavorful and tender. We will be back!! Thank you guys!

Whoa I wish this place had more reviews...this place is smacking!!!! BBQ so good make you wanna slap yo ____ . Y'all know the rest. Seriously though this place is delicious, the brisket was moist and full of flavor, the chicken was tender and the Mac and cheese was made by an angel. Gives this place a try folks, I'll definitely be back.
