Charcuterie supplies and assorted meats. Unique flavors of meats. Nice choice of craft made sausage and salamis. Interesting place to visit, friendly, helpful staff.

Google
Pretty mid okayish for the products but the staff was excellent! There was this beautiful employee I talked too, Cleo. She truely is a expert in her field and had pristine customer service!

Google
Great service and lots to buy! The meat is great quality! The salumi they have must just not be my fiancés and I’s taste but we’ll try more!!! We got the sampler pack thinking that it must be 3 of their most popular meats (maybe it is and ya’ll have fancy taste), but it’s got a good chew and interesting flavors. We couldn’t cut them on our own very thin which didn’t help. The service was great and it seems like good quality. They have a lot of options so we should’ve just bought thinner salami! We’ll try more for sure because buying local is important!

Google
Interesting and varied assortment of meat, cheese, pickles, seasonings, sauces and so much more for anyone with a palette that appreciates the chasing of new and fun flavors. Today was my first time even hearing about Smoking Goose: but I read several rave reviews, saw a number of captivating pictures, and drove out pretty much immediately. The shop is so very clean and neat, organized and roomy, with plenty of choices to peruse, the staff - knowledgeable and friendly, an amazing first impression for sure! I spent so much more than I'd expected or wanted, but thanks to a great promotion they had going on today - this meant the drive, the time, the money, all of it was completely worth it and then some and I am beyond thrilled at the idea of going again, very soon!

Google
I love their salami, but I experienced the worst customer service ever. They canceled my order without any notice, and when I emailed them, they completely ignored my messages. I sent about five emails, but not a single one received a response. I have no idea what the reason for this is. They don’t answer the phone or reply to emails, and this is a company that claims to want to grow its business.

Google
11/10. Excellent goods, consistent delivery, exceptional service. My Geese is strong. 💪 🪿 I regularly order online. I've never visited the shop, but I will. Charcuterie, prepared heat-and-eat meal components (soups, bbq, sides, dips), jerky, sausage, cheese, jams, crackers, cookies, nuts, and even leaf lard. ❤️‍🔥🐖❤️‍🔥

Google
Salami Toscano is very inconsistent, I have always had some sort of issue every couple months with this product, holes throughtout the whole thing. Comes out to having to waste about 40 to 50 percent of the log because it cannot be used.

Google
Best charcuterie boards! The staff is great and very helpful.

Yelp
This time of year, you'll find us at Smoking Goose (or Goose the Market) stocking up on stocking treasures and Hoosier snacks to send to our family in Texas. The best gifts are food, right? This location is chock full of edible treasures ranging from pickles and cheeses and flavored nuts and chutneys. You can procure a top notch cheese board for entertaining, grab a delicious sandwich and peruse the freezer for their frequent meat sales. You'll also find a variety of fish products, dessert snacks like Frittle and more. The staff is friendly and equally enthusiastic about locally made products.

Yelp
We love visiting Smoking Goose for their sandwich of the week, and usually pick up various LOCAL, or gourmet ingredients that help us to elevate our home creations. The service is always amazing, the ambiance is inviting, Smokey, and informative. Definitely a go to.

Yelp
Not only do they make the meats in house, but they also offer artisanal foods from mostly local vendors and a few unusual products from farther aways. You can usually find everything here to make a killer charcuterie board or a fancy dinner... You can stop by for lunch and have them make you one of their yummy sandwiches. You can even order catering... or bulk orders if you are in the food industry... or order on line... or take food related classes... BUT, what I want to review is the tours they offer nowadays. I found out that they now offer tours on select Saturdays. It did cost roughly $20, but it is so worth it. First off you get to suit up... yep, smock, hair net, beard net if applicable (my 3 chin whiskers did not warrant that fortunately) and shoe covers. Making everyone look equally dorky... selfie time... The guide talks a bit about the business in general and then we are off to discover the salami making process... actually all their smoked meats... You will see and smell the meats in various stages, yes smell... some good, some not so much We hear a bit about the history of the company, the processes, the warehousing, the mail order, the store... This tour is very informative. After the tour and after shedding your fashionable attire everyone gathered in the employee breakroom to sample some of the things we had seen on the tour. She explained each item on our little plates. Then we were offered packages of smoked meats to take home with us, along with postcards, buttons and stickers. Even better, we received a store discount for all of our purchases. I so highly recommend this taking this tour. It is a truly unique thing to do here in Indy and a must for every foodie.

Yelp
This place is kind of tucked away on a side street in a residential area. The day I was there I had the place to myself, and that was fine by me, it allowed me to take my time and get a good look at all the products. I ended up with a few condiments not made by them but also a package of bacon and capicola which were. I found the bacon to be of good quality, very meaty and had a good flavor, but it also was way too salty for my liking. Did i just get an off batch? Or is that how it normally is? Because if it is the latter, then I probably wont buy that again. The capicola was much better, had a spicy bite and was great on my sandwich. Service was blandly professional, I was greeted and asked if I was looking for anything in particular, and when I said no, I was left alone which was great. I did not know they served sandwiches until I read about it here, which is a shame because i most definitely would have bought one had I known. All in all a cute shop. I will try other products for sure next time I am in the area.

Yelp
Oh my bejesus! It's all true! Considering the current number of reviews (81), this could be the most undiscovered, uncharted, and under patronized sandwich shop in Indy. Finally, I ordered the muffuletta, and it did not disappoint. The absolute closest I have found in Indy that screams NOLA. No knock on the SG mothership, but you can't make a muffuletta without a sesame bun/bread, and the addition of craft smoked ham crushes anything I have had in Indiana Highly recommend this place! (Side note, I got carry out, fancy plate and table not included )

Yelp
What can i say about Smoking Goose that hasn't already been said...nothing, because they are amazing! Not only a staple to the neighborhood but also to the city as a whole. Supporting local farmers and providing wonderful food in the process. I was here two months ago while i was still vegan and they have an amazing vegan sandwich from the restaurant side. Came back last week now not currently vegan and got some of the best quality (local) meat in town. Quick Notes - Amazing staff!! Friendly, Knowledgeable and Genuinely good people - Awesome locally raised meats - Great cured meats selection - High quality fish selection - Wonderful local plant produce - Amazing selection of local condiments, snacks and small accessories. - Delicious local bread If you are from out of town you must stop in once to this Indy staple. Yes they are more expensive than the grocery store, get over it. You are supporting local small businesses and farmers by shopping here.

Yelp
Love how helpful this staff is with gift giving. Even when purchasing for myself they made great suggestions. I find their products all over the place and still love going into their store front. They do bacon really well and their wall of dried meats are extremely flavorful. This truly can be a one stop shop for charcuterie board ingredients.

Yelp
Smoking Goose is like a specialty shop in Paris- like it isn't trying to be a grocery store but it has so many different wonderful things. While I wish they were more grocery minded a la goose the market it is much more spacious and there is so much to choose from. Like others have said, the staff are especially wonderful at helping you pick out what you need or just being patient as you hem and haw. It is a bit on the pricier side but you are getting really quality items including a lot of local gems that are hard to buy outside of the farmers market. I always grab the jowel bacon as a gift, I highly recommend stopping by.

Yelp
I have eaited entirely too long to come here. I was the first customer in the door on a Saturday morning and was greated warmly and asked if they could help. I told them it was my first time and the manager said well let me show you behind the scenes. So I went back and checked out their aging room and saw their industrial bacon smoker!! This was a great way to start my weekend! I took full advantage of their freezer sale. A small box cost $50 and the large box is $85. I was able to fit $100 worth of meat and truffle duck butter into my small box. Just make sure it closes all the way and you can pack whatever you want from the freezer. Highly highly recommend this place!!

Yelp
There's so many unique items here. They have everything you would need to create the ultimate charcuterie board - quality meats, cheeses, pickled items, spreads, crackers, and spreads. Their display case of pickled and marinated items is so unique. The little tiny red peppers and the marinated mushrooms are favorites. The employees are so friendly and knowledgeable, always willing to answer questions and make recommendations. They have a menu board where you can also order a selection of charcuterie items they put together for you. It's great coming here because there's always a new find waiting to be discovered.

Yelp
Everything is so good here!!! My husband and I are hooked! The salami is out of this world, best we've ever had!

Yelp
Smoking Goose is a local meat shop that also partners with local Indiana farmers and vendors. Between smoked meats and fish to local honey, there are a ton of local food products available for purchase. There is also a small discount freezer section, where you can save 30-50%. Several times a year, there host tasting events where some of the vendors have samples available to try out their products. Samples are always very generous and it is always great to get to meet the owners of these small local businesses. Definitely a great spot to look for gifts for a foodie!

Yelp
So the Smoking Goose Facebook page popped up on my page so I gave them a call just for info. Turns out they have a public market store as well as their wholesale business. The best about this is they also have a deli counter with limited sandwiches featuring their meats etc. I walked in and was greeted very pleasantly by a man named Nolan. I explained it was my first time and which sandwich did he recommend. He said the Italian or the 3 little pigs. I have a weakness for Italian sandwiches and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!!! Capocollo, mortadella, provolone Bavarian mustard, arugula and pickles red onions and I added some soppressata on a toasted baguette!!!! Amazing! Nolan was so knowledgeable about all the products I inquired about and gave me a sample of duck prosciutto! Heavenly! I did purchase some wild boar salame, uncured pork loin with black pepper paprika and garlic, and some gin and beet cured salmon lox spread ! Looks like a little charcuterie is in store for dinner! DEFINITELY CHECK THIS PLACE OUT ASK FOR NOLAN...HE'S A ROCK STAR!!!

Yelp
I cannot say enough good things about Smoking Goose. My brother introduced me to them around 11 years ago and it is a favorite spot for me to hit when I come back home to Indianapolis. I am getting I to the hobby of creating my own charcuterie and had some questions about the craft. I stopped by and spoke with the manager and she spent an hour with me showing me around and answering as many questions as she could. The owner happened to walk by and she grabbed him and he spent about 20 minutes answering the technical questions she could not. Not only is their meats fantastic but everyone I spoke with were genuinely nice people. I cannot think of any business that I would be willing to spend my money with for cured meats that Smoking Goose. You will not be disappointed with their products.

Yelp
Decent selection of cured meats, pantry treats, cheeses and sando toppings. The retail space isn't as elegant or inviting as the near-North location, and the selection is a bit more limited (like, where's my duck fat cooking spray, y'all?) but there's plenty of space to improved. Service was friendly and helpful, but not quick. They also offer a selection of made to order sandwiches, where again I have to say good, but why not as great as Goose the Market? I'd like a Batali in my hood too please. I'll definitely keep coming and hope Smoking Goose reaches the dizzy heights Goose the Market indulges us in.

Yelp
I first tried Smoking Goose at a Yelp event. My boyfriend and I enjoyed it so much that we decided to buy the Rust Belt Saucisson for two of our family members for Christmas. It was a hit! I wanted to buy some for a thank you gift for another family member and I just happened to see the meat sale on Do317's website. Staff was friendly and helpful. They alerted the line of people when certain meats were getting low. They offered to help people get their items quicker. The line was really not bad for the sale. Another customer said the line goes down the street in the summer, but he said he doesn't mind with Flat12 being across the street! This is a cool grouping of businesses on Dorman Street. So far we've only tried the Rust Belt Saucisson and the Tasso. Loved the Rust Belt Saucisson. I don't know much about the Tasso's cut of meat. The flavoring was amazing, but for my own preference I probably won't buy it again. It seems to be a fattier cut. The packaging suggests it for jambalaya, soups and similar recipes. We ate it as is so maybe that's part of the issue too. Update: I cooked the Tasso again as leftovers for breakfast in place of bacon and it was much better when cooked the second time. The fat cooked down a bit this way.

Yelp
They don't need another 5star review but here ya go. Went in on a weekend when they had samples. It wasn't even fair. Bought everything I sampled and some things I didn't. The Jowl bacon, jalapeno brat and Tri-tip were all smoking awesome. Made the Kolsch brats at home. Delicious. And their sopressetta is always a must on our charcuterie boards. Great service. Don't be deceived by the warehouse look. Go in and see for yourself. Don't miss this place.

Yelp
As a result of watching Smoking Goose profiled on TasteMakers, I decided to order some of their meats. Being a first timer, I chose 6 different options. It's free shipping with a $75 purchase. My first shipment (to 115 degree Phoenix in the summer) came too warm so I gave them a call. The gentleman I spoke to on the phone was very apologetic and reshipped the spoiled items. I got them quickly and this time it was all good. We couldn't wait to give some of the sausages and meats a try. Everything was absolutely delicious. We had the Capocollo Di Dorman, Rosette de Lyon and the Salame Cotto last night. Wonderful. We can't wait to give the other meats a try. This is the highest quality salumi I've ever experienced.

Yelp
Ordered their natural corned beef (no nitrates or nitrites, fully cooked) -- so hard to find! It was the Best. Corned. Beef. Ever. Seriously. It sold out from the service I was using (green bean delivery), so I found them online. They have utterly mouth-watering gourmet foods of a wide variety -- and they're local! I just got a giant smoked ham... can't wait to taste it this Sunday! (Along with all the dips, spreads, confits, terrines, and gourmet cheeses and salumi I got...) Oh. And the strawberry sumac smoked bass. OMG. Meat candy. I love this place.

Yelp
3 stars for the product but one star for the service. Popped in the smoking goose today while in Indianapolis for the weekend. Everything that they offer is good. However, i had a sought after salami selection in my basket while at the store. In fact, the cashier commented on how good it was and that's why they charge more for it. After browsing for additional product, when I approached the cash register, she commented she couldn't sell it to me. Evidently they now had online orders now that exceeded the supply of what was available. So essentially she had to rob my basket so they could fulfill their online orders. What a crock! I could have been in the store well in advance of the online order. So the message I received is our online customers are more important than in-store customers. Shame on you!!!

Yelp
I have bought much from the Geese, always surprising me. I applaud the geese for their intuitiveness and inventiveness, and always freshness. I do, however, take a step back with some of their items, too inventive, e.g., the wagyu bologna, not a good taste to me and a waste of good beef, but taste is subjective. Sometimes less is better, just plain spices, think old world, but the geese are trying to go overboard sometimes, which is unfortunate as they have all of the means to make exemplary products. Stop with the experimenting. I just received the Tulip Tree cheese, delicious, and I am not a fan of cheddar, also the venison salame, absolutely wonderful. Stick with what you should know, quit inventing, or so I say. There is a reason as to why most charcuterie has lasted through the ages, it was not tried to be reinvented. Perfect yourself, Geese. Having said all of this, and if your sales of all are wonderful, I say, what the hell do I know other than my personal palate.

Yelp
Found this place searching for Capocollo in the Indianapolis area, they make their own and their own Mortadella The downsides: it's not the whole muscle meat that you would be used to in capocollo. it's more of chunks that I have been formed together. It does have all the correct seasonings, it does have the correct textures, but it is also pre-packaged rather than you being able to have it sliced for you at a deli counter and the vacuum packed packages do not allow the meat to separate easily The positives: the spices are pretty spot on as long as you were looking for the sweet Capocollo and not the spicy. The Mortadelo was very true to the traditional sense of the meat. As long as you go in expecting everything to be prepackaged and pre-portioned the smoked meats, smoked fish, various cheeses are a nice find for the area

Yelp
Great place to find high quality interesting meats and other various products. I purchased pig and fig terrine, duck prosciutto, wagyu bologna, and nduja sausage. Everything has been incredible and it has been fun to find new dishes / incorporate the various products into my meals this week. They also have cheeses, jams, spreads, pickled items, and other local products. It would be a great place to put together a charcuterie board that will wow any guests. The staff was really nice and welcoming. There is lotssss of parking as they have a lot just north of their building. Before you shop you can check out their neighbors Rad Brewing and King Dough for pizza and beers!

Yelp
The Smoking Goose is a Dorman Street Gem! I've just recently moved into the neighborhood and I'm so pleased that the Smoking Goose is just down the street. This meatery has so many local options and so many different meat choices. We've tried some chicken sausage and also picked up a pimento cheese dip. Both items were delicious. The staff was so friendly and helpful, they made it easy to navigate the store. We will be frequent shoppers here for sure.

Yelp
I've been enjoying their products for years at restaurants around town, and from stores that carry their products. I haven't had the opportunity to visit the store since I know the public hours are somewhat limited. That said enough places carry their bacon and sausages that I've never had a problem finding the products I want. The bacon is amazing. I mean if I'm going to splurge and eat bacon, I want it to be great bacon like this! All of their sausages and salame are wonderful too. I had the chance to try a few new ones at Yelp's Totally Bazaar 2018, and loved them all, but went home with an Alpha Klaus Salame. Again, if I'm going to eat salame, it needs to be great salame like this! Their high-quality products are entirely worth the extra cost!

Yelp
It's okay. For what it costs, I have very high expectations. I think they could engage their customers a little better.

Yelp
Ever seen a pack of wolves go raid the fridge and freezer? Yep, the hardcore foodies stand there half an hour lining up to grab everything they can set their hands on once a month from the smoking goose when they open to the public. Hell, if the local brewery was open early, I'd go trudge over there to have a beer on their patio. There's even an antique store attached on the other end. It was surprisingly very civilized, no shoving or being trampled by a herd of elephants. Interesting people of all sorts, young, older, and eclectic, formed a neat line to the freestanding sliding door fridge like one would see at a shared work fridge. Now If only the doors didn't shove into each other as people were trying to grab what they want, it'd be more efficient. Anywho, they turned up some rad tunes and opened the garage door for some fresh outside air. As we were about to check out at the register, there were beautiful sampler platters of charcuterie. The soppressata was the bomb. Peppery and savory. 1st time around, we got some cured elk, boar, and a red pork salami. It was only like 30 bucks?! So we lined up a 2nd time, got some fresh sausage *smoked duck, pear, port wine* *fennel* *andouille*. Whoop! $25 and it'll last me awhile. At the register that day, they were selling food tickets to get your sausage dog hot off the grill. We got a turkey beet and veal brat served on Cornerstone's poppy seed buns topped with Fermenti Artisan krauts and Local Folk's Food stone-ground mustand. Next time, we're bringing a huge bag to get some city ham, smoked pork chips, etc. They really got some quality meat here, so stock up every month on some awesome wholesale prices on local meat.

Yelp
Smoking Goose is iconic to Indianapolis. It seems like every gourmet restaurant in town carries their products, and their founder, Chris Eley, was ranked as one of Food and Wine's Top 20 Food Artisans of the U.S. within the last year. If you've tasted their traditional or unique salumis, sausages, or meats, then you understand why Smoking Goose stands among the best of the best. All-natural, organic, humane, creative, unbeatable flavors...they are for both the carnivorous eater and the "support local" food snob. Some of my top picks that I've devoured: -Gin and Juice Salame -City Ham -Duck Prosciutto -Lamb Bacon -Kitchen Sink Sausage -Caramel Bacon Cheddar Popcorn (my #01 rival to Garrett's!) Slice it, put it on a sandwich, grill it, top with fig jam or cheese, or just bite a huge chunk of out your sausage stick. No matter how you eat it, you've got yourself an unparalleled stand out.

Nora B.

Yelp
This place is definitely worth a visit! Their sweet and spicy pecans! Tried the snack box....it was delicious!

Yelp
First time coming here. It's a small place but they've got some amazing dry and cured meats, probably the best in town. Once a month they open the meat locker for a massive sale. I'd suggest going during a sale because otherwise it can be a little pricey. But you do get what you pay for. I'll definitely be coming back next month for their next sale Cooked their Applewood smoked bacon earlier today and it was amazing. Probably some of the best bacon I've ever had
google avatar

Karley M.

Yelp
This meat is top of the line. I've tried it in many restaurants around Indianapolis and also partook in their recent meat sale, which was phenomenal. You could fill a decent sized box with as much meat as possible for $60. We got pork chops, hot dogs, sausages, capicolla, rabbit...you name it. Everything we've cooked so far has been amazing. Follow them on Facebook to see when their next sale is-they only do them every so often.

Yelp
I bought a Stagberry salami and found it near impossible to slice. It came in a cardboard tube that was open at both ends. The salami was unwrapped. The pungent odor of the salami reminds me of Viet nouc mam fish sauce. Is this normal for such uncured salami? It is so hard, I find it unchewable.
google avatar

Sharon K.

Yelp
I had been looking forward to their once a month open to the public sale and finally got to check it out. It was a lot smaller than I expected but I got almost everything I wanted, they didn't have the duck prosciutto. My friends and I got a bunch of stuff together to try out. We got the duck sausage, pig and fig terrine, rabbit terrine, lamb bacon, and pork jowl bacon. I was especially looking forward to the lamb bacon cause I love lamb. Sadly that was my least favorite purchase, it was really gamey. I've never had gamey lamb. My friends said it was more like mutton than lamb. The pig and fig terrine was my favorite then the duck sausage, pork jowl bacon, rabbit terrine, and last the lamb bacon. I will probably get the pig and fig terrine and duck sausage again, the jowl bacon and rabbit terrine maybe, the lamb bacon no. The pig and fig terrine is seasoned well, nice balance of flavors, and it's got a nice texture for spreading on bread or crackers or whatever. The duck sausage tastes good, feel like it would be great for an Asian style stir fry served with rice. The jowl bacon is good, bit hard to cook evenly without over doing (burning). The rabbit terrine is good but not as flavorful and not very spreadable. Their products are a bit pricey, as to be expected for the unique things the create. I'd say it's worth it.

Yelp
***First of all, before you continue to read this review, let it be known that I'm a vegetarian. So the following comments will be about customer service only.*** A couple of summers ago, I was trying to figure out a local "experience" birthday gift to secure for my soon-to-be 16-year-old son, which I have to say is not an easy task. We had already run the gamut of Escape Rooms, Paint Ball wars, Top Golf, and the like. It was around that time that I read an online article in the Indy Star about Smooking Goose Meat School. They had my full attention. That particular child LOVES meat; all kinds of meat. And because he's our child, he's got high-end tastes. So I clicked on the link to check out what this meat school offers. Smoking Goose offered up three or four classes, and all ranged from $120-$150 each. I remember one was How to Butcher a Whole Hog. The class I purchased was titled Just Encased, and it was a salumi making class. (To be clear, I called first to make sure his age wouldn't be a problem, which it wasn't) Here's the description, straight from their website: learn the entire process from grinding and seasoning to stuffing, tying, and fermenting. Get the inside scoop on working with fermenting cultures and aging environments. Experience how different types of protein (pork, lamb, elk, game) impact recipes, aging techniques, and flavor profiles. Even though he was the youngest person there by more than a handful of years, he had such a positive experience and learned so much. The staff was so kind to him and really did their best to make him feel comfortable, even though he was clearly the youngest. He spent a few hours with the staff and his group working in the kitchen to create their salumis. A few weeks later, I received a phone call from the staff telling me that his salumis were all done curing and we could come pick them up! We brought them home and he and his dad spent the evening enjoying all the different flavors. It also gave my son a chance to share how he made each item too. Meat School by Smoking Goose was a great experience, so be sure to follow their social media to know when you can register for upcoming classes.

Yelp
We got a lot of the smoked shrimp for a small dinner party and it was a huge hit. The shrimp tasted fabulous and it was fun peeling and eating. We will definitely be back to try more times. None of us had ever eaten smoked shrimp with the head on and it had a great smokey flavor that I would purchase again.

Yelp
Seen the special on wfyi TV which seems to be complete BS they don't have fresh chicken from a selected farm or fresh beef from a selected farm that's mostly just sausages the place is tiny not as big as depicted in the television show I did buy smoke white fish here today which was really great but we went to buy fresh duck and chicken they had nothing

Yelp
If you want the world's best smoked meats and.cheese, order from these people! Great small family business.

Yelp
This is the place to get meat in Indianapolis. We love the Kitchen Sink Sausage and the City Ham makes the best ham sandwiches. You will find Smoking Goose products throughout the city (follow them on Facebook for photos from restaurants that serve their products). Be sure to follow Smoking Goose on social media so you get notice of its sales so you can try the various meats at significant discounts. If you do go during one of these sales, get there early, because they will sell out. Flat 12 Bierworks, a local brewery, is also across the street if you would like to spend a little more time in the neighborhood.

Yelp
I have been a fan of Smoking Goose products for years, but I had never made a trip to the "mothership" until earlier this month (ironically, I had bought their products in bulk on trips to Jungle Jim's in Cincinnati, when Jungle Jim's still sold Smoking Goose products). The stars aligned, meaning I was free during their limited store hours, and I finally got to go. Holy Smoked Meat, Batman! You can smell the curing meat from the street and it smells amazing. When we entered I was a little shocked at how small the storeroom was, as I was expecting a larger shop area. But they fully utilize their allocated space, and I deduct that means there is just extra room in the back for the yummies to cure. They had a great assortment of products when we were in there...terrines, salami, glorious bacon galore, hot cap, Amelia's bread products, Just Pop'In popcorn...etc. I felt great knowing that the meat products were locally sourced. I had placed a $30 cap on myself, mainly because we are trying to knock back on the amount of meat we eat. It was really hard just choosing a few items...I wanted ALL the bacon. We settled on Lamb Bacon, Pineapple Chili bacon, and some Hot Cap, and came in under budget. All of the products have been outstanding, as expected. We were greeted when we walked in and told to ask if we had any questions. I like this type of service, "I'm here if you need me, but otherwise I won't bother you, ok?" Perfect. There were a couple of annoying, pretentious customers in there when we were there, but that's no fault of Smoking Goose. We are planning on adding Smoking Goose to our monthly rotation of errands around Indianapolis. I also think I'm just going to give people Smoking Goose Bacon for Christmas this year...who wouldn't appreciate a couple pounds of perfectly crafted, thick-cut bacon under the Christmas tree?!

Yelp
This is without a doubt one of my favorite places in Indy. They buy local, responsibly raised animals and prepare them in all kinds of delicious ways. You can get traditional items (like bacon, Andouille sausages, and sugar cured hams) or something a little more unusual (like elk liver pâté, specialty sausages, and lardo). The last time I came here I brought some friends and we all enjoyed something they had recently started doing: bacon flights! It's a sampling of four of their different kinds of bacon - traditional apple wood smoked bacon, jowl bacon, lamb bacon, and chocolate covered bacon. Everything tasted absolutely incredible. It was really interesting to savor the various kinds of bacon together and appreciate the differences in taste. The lamb bacon was the biggest surprise, in my opinion. I had no idea what to expect it to taste like and was blown away at the first bite. It was awesome. I make sure to stop by here whenever I'm in the area (and they're open) so I can bring home some yummy meat treats. Definitely worth checking out if you're a carnivore like me!

Yelp
**Disclaimer** This review is solely based on my Thanksgiving Turkey order. With that said.... This review is so past due. I must have been in a tryptophan coma for a month to have forgotten to share that Goose, your bird is the word! This was my very first time hosting Thanksgiving and my first go at making a Thanksgiving turkey. With much help from my fellow Yelp community I was given a recommendation to look into Goose. Holy turkey feathers did Goose make it easy. And you, as well, fellow Yelp friends. It was October when I first started researching my options. Goose sold me on its turkey from Gunthorp Farms at $4.25/lb. Yes, this is higher then what you would find at your regular grocer but I was after an all-natural, open pasture raised, happily clucking, humanely processed, fresh, farm-to-fork bird. Their pricing per pound was the most affordable in the area. In addition, they had a step-by-step video from Chris showing you how to brine, roast, and create a wonderful pan sauce for your bird, shopping list included. Want the details? BAM -- http://goosethemarket.com/Tday/default.html. Kicking up their game, making it even easier for you, they had a pre-made "just add water" brine kit available for $9.95. To make things easier on myself I chose this option. I was so glad I did! This kit included everything listed in the video including the chopped fruits & veggies. No need to track a treasure map to find Juniper Berries at the supermarket. Their pre-made brine kit was the best purchase & time saver, hands down! I simply placed my order for the turkey and brine kit online. I could choose to pick up from either of their two locations (Smooking Goose or Goose the Market). Several convenient dates and times were offered. When it was time to pick up my order, it was complete, and ready to go. Easy! I followed the turkey brining & roasting instructions included on their website. I added my own personal touch by making an herb butter, inserting it under the skin and I braised the turkey with wine & butter. The turkey turned out nicely browned, juicy, flavorful, fresh, and fabulous. Everyone raved about how good the meat tasted. Several said this was the best turkey they ever had. Thanks to Goose. In addition, I served my turkey with Goose's Cranberry Mostarda. Hot damn this is delish! Not only was it great for our turkey dinner but it went great with leftovers. Picture - Goose turkey, Goose Mostarda, Tulip Tree Foxglove cheese, brioche sandwiches. Yum! I will most definitely be placing future turkey orders with Goose. Thanks again for making my first Thanksgiving amazing!

Yelp
Finally had the chance to visit the store and it was great! It's small, simple and to the point. The man working this morning was super friendly and willing to answer all of our questions. We bought the garlic sausage, chorizo sausage and the lamb bacon. I've only had their regular bacon and ham before so this was definitely going to be a treat :) As soon as we got home it was time to cook! The bacon smelled so earthy and like no bacon I had smelled before. It cooked to a soft and juicy perfection with just enough crunch around the edges. The chorizo sausage was not so hot that it distracted you from the food itself. The prevailing flavor for me was paprika. Just enough kick but it didn't linger forever. I really enjoyed the garlic sausage. The sage was present but not overpowering.

Yelp
Imagine a little spud of a sweet potato. Fearful it may one day become a canned candied yam. Hopeful it gets to grow up to become a full, whole, organic sweet potato. One day it could get the Cessarian slice where out oozes its innards then draped in all sorts of local meat goodness at Smoking Goose. The Sasquatch is the finest handheld food since meat in tube form. Screw finding Big Foot... Smoking Goose's Sasquatch would kick its ass anyway. A sweet potato smothered in pork, pork juice and creme fraiche. This is what I walk down the street (around the corner from my house / office) to break for on a Friday late lunch hour. Then, I picked up a piggy fig terrine for late-night noshery. I got a meat high both times. Smoking Goose intends to penetrate the world of take home meats and restaurant / bar meat offerings on your plate and change the world when it comes to how meat is supplied. Local meat. Local butcher. Locals loving local goodness. This is the local marketplace vertically integrating itself into a streamlined service of a healthy way to go about eating our most beloved craving. If you take one part restraint (read: don't eat a hog for dinner), one part Smoking Goose, your guilt complex surrounding meat will turn into a prideful, uplifting experience.

Yelp
Is the word "smoking" in Smoking Goose being used as a verb or an adjective? Is it a verb that explains the wonderful process that they use to prepare their delicious meats? Or, is at an adjective that is being used as a description? Like, "That 18 month cured ham is so delectable it's smoking!" The answer is YES. To both.

Yelp
Received my expertly packed parcel of smoked bacon bits, hillbilly sausage & rendered lard. Cooked the sausage & then baked them in my sausage rolls .. kids said the sausage was GREAT!! Made a large batch of bacon jam with the 5# of smoked bacon bits, jarred them up .. son said was the best batch ever as for the bacon bits! Tomorrow is tamale making day .. made the masa today with their beautiful lard & can tell this year's tamales are going to be "smoking" great thanks to the Smoking Goose's lard. Fast shipping .. outstanding customer service .. products are "delicatosh" thank you!

Yelp
After buying Smoking Goose products from Goose the Market, it was exciting to see some of the inner-workings of the mother ship. The production process combines age-old curing methods (smoke, fermentation, etc.) with up to date equipment and innovative approaches to produce for fantastic delicacies.

Yelp
This place is awesome! They put the time and effort into their meat and it shows when you cook it! My good friend Anthony Warren is a crew member here and told me about the meats. Ever since 2018, I have attended most of their meat shows that are offered once a month where they offer discounted pricing to some of their products! Great quality, great service and great people!

Yelp
Got the charcuterie board here for our charcuterie night...twice. Couldn't stay away. Loved the service, love the business, I'm hopeful we can go back later as they seem eager to teach about their business and process

Yelp
+ The aroma of smoked meats wafting through the air + Fresh & locally sourced ingredients + Unique flavors This is the place of meat lovers' dreams, the source of where the magic happens. The intoxicating aroma of smoked meats wafts through the air before you even step foot through the door, and once you're inside, you might not want to leave. I asked the cool gal working the cashier on the day I went if she goes home smelling delicious after a scrumptious day at work, and she professed, "I'm very popular with dogs and bearded men". I want to be her. Their sausages are some of my favorite products, especially the KITCHEN SINK SAUSAGE and the FENNEL SAUSAGE. Perfectly spiced and complex in flavor - so many things you can do with them. Fry some up for breakfast with some scrambled eggs, barbecue them, make the most awesome gourmet hot dog, etc. I also love their fresh MEXICAN CHORIZO. They sell duck fat and bacon lard by the tub, all manners of salumi and larger smoked meats like turkey breasts and pork chops, and even have snack things like bacon caramel cheddar popcorn. During the holidays they host a big warehouse sale where many of their products are on sale at wholesale prices. Follow their Facebook for postings of events and sales. Their products make for excellent holiday or hostess gifts, which is always a nice alternative from bringing over the typical bottle of wine.
