We celebrated the end of the year 2025 with friends at SMØR Bistro, and the experience was absolutely wonderful.
We reserved a table in advance after hearing many great reviews, and the restaurant truly lived up to them. The menu is impressive and beautifully crafted. To start, we enjoyed a fresh green salad and a beetroot tartar, both of which were exceptional in taste.
I ordered the schnitzel, served with a delightful butter, caper, and anchovy sauce. The presentation was remarkable, with the waiter pouring the sauce tableside and sharing insights about the significance of SMØR. It was both informative and inspiring.
My friends chose the venison patty and the cod, both dishes were perfectly cooked and full of flavor.
For dessert, we savored the Basque cheesecake (my favorite dessert), which was absolutely perfect in texture and flavor. We also enjoyed the profiteroles, a chef’s special of the day, drizzled with chocolate sauce and accompanied by the waiter’s charming explanation.
To top it all off, we were treated to a complimentary cranberry liqueur (by exclusive Latvian producer) from the chef at the end of the meal — truly the cherry on top of an already fantastic evening.
The interior is elegant, cozy, and comfortable, with mirrors that create a sense of space and a refined atmosphere. We had an amazing time and will definitely return. Highly recommended!
