"Silky hummus, honeyed baklava, and loaded gyro fries are a few of the main attractions at this hole-in-the-wall spot. For only $7.50 (plus tax), diners can order stuffed gyros, spilling with glistening lamb or beef, generously drizzled in tzatziki, and dusted in sumac, alongside enticing pantry items including Moroccan sardines and Jordanian za’atar." - Alana Al-Hatlani

"Don’t be fooled by the almost always-empty dining room here. This Mediterranean place gets busy with takeout regulars, which leaves seating open if you want to hang out and watch the world go by while enjoying a shawarma plate. And while Seattle might have bigger gyros and more pillowy pita, this is a key Burien spot for simple, fast wraps to take to-go. Plus, the front counter has a few pantry essentials for sale like capers, olives, sardines, and coffee." - Nate Watters

Dinner Special: Lamb and beef + hummus. I stopped here for a late night quick to go meal on my way home. I have to say delicious! The meats are so full flavor and delicious! This whole platter can easily feed 2. So good! I love that they add spice if you want it spicy. The chef was also super friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back whenever I’m in the area.

I’m not a big fan of the food here. I think the hummus is especially disappointing and lacks flavor. I also tried their falafel platter and chicken shawarma and they were very bland. The service is good and I don’t think it gets too busy. It might be OK for someone who doesn’t know Middle East cuisine.

We love Greek Food. Been all over town and, while it's been a while, been to Snack Gyro a few times. It's usually dependable. Not today and I don't mean an off meal, I mean a horrible meal and I rarely use that term in my reviews. We ordered the Gyros salad. What we got was very little gyros meat, watery lettuce, one piece of tomato, a few slices of wilted cucumbers, bell peppers (not mentioned in the menu description) chunks of onion (no kalamata olives i requested) smothered in their garlic sauce. (Not the Greek dressing as advertised) Hummus falafel platter. Nope not good. Tasteless hummus, with zero flavor or seasoning, like mashed garbanzo beans. Falafel was so over fried they were greasy rocks. Garlic fries? Some fries cooked others part raw. Baba Ganoug only decent side. Tasty with some added seasoning. Tabouleh salad was also horrible. Filled with chopped onions (a lot of chopped onion) a little tomato, a little parsley and a ton of chopped bell pepper. Menu says chopped parsley, onion. tomato, lemon juice..as it should be! Nope, did I mention it was smothered in garlic sauce? Yuk. So overall we spent $54 on food and tipped 15% (on take out) for a total of $62 for an inedible meal not made as described by the menu. When I called to complain and discuss my frustration? All I got was that his customers liked his food that way and it must be us. As a consistent supporter of local business and food, it pains me to write a review like this...but...don't stand there and justify bad, skimped cheaply made food. See pics attached.

It is a nice little restaurant and the prices are good, decent presentation (and the guy there was working his *** off back there) but I was a little disappointed with my meal. I ordered the Snack Shawarma Plate, which among other things, promises a salad. I was expecting maybe like a little side of a Greek-style salad or something like that. Nope. The salad is literally just some bare shredded lettuce with a slice of a bell pepper on top of it. Nothing else. Everything else was great.

The food here is absolutely delicious. They have some of the best gyro in town. Their Gyro meat is succulent and they put a lot in their orders. It is best to order ahead of time but they also take walk-ins. Inside of the small store they have a Market with a lot of different ethnic foods. I love to get the salad with the crunchy lettuce and the delicious tzazikisauce

Stopped here for lunch today. Ordered the Lamb/Beef Gyro with fries and can of soda. First time here. Small but quaint place. But they also have outside sitting area. The meat was a bit dryer then I liked, but good flavor. And a little to much lettuce on the Gyro as well. But over all good size portion, with the fries and can of soda. Came to about $12 dollars. Price just recently was raised. But for the price it was a pretty good combo meal. The fries and lettuce and tomato on gyro were both seasoned with a ground pepper, so gave it a bit of a kick! I will go back here soon.

I wanted to love this place so bad from all the good reviews I read online. I drove out of my way to come here from Renton. The portion size was ok. The falafel and the rice was dry. The sprinkled spice was overbearing on the lamb.

Nice small shop conveniently located with reasonable parking in front but most importantly.. Super authentic and delicious food.. always fresh.. I got mine Togo today but it’s piping hot and smelling delish!!!!

Yelp
I've been in search for a good Mediterranean restaurant for about a month now. I'm new to the area so I have been all over! I finally found this hidden gem! Fast and friendly service! Lots of choices! The chicken plate was flavorful, tender and delicious! The salad had these little pickles that were amazing! The location is a bit tricky but it's almost on the corner so it's great for people watching! There's a very casual ambiance with almost a take out feel to it. They have several grocery store items that are common to a Mediterranean market which really affects the ambiance. As I looked out the window, I could almost imagine some potted plants to make me feel as if I was really there! Some art of the region might boost it a notch up to justify pricing, which was a bit on the high side.

Yelp
Tl;dr: food was under-seasoned and unimpressive. Until they get their act together on the food, look elsewhere Our regular Mediterranean place (Mawadda in Rainier valley) was closed tonight so decided to try Snack Gyro out as it's so close. We ate from here about 5 years ago ago and it was pretty good then.... Everything we ordered was bland and underseasoned. Falafel were also over cooked (fryer oil was too hot). They don't provide any toum sauce (the garlic sauce) so we had to use our own Karam's. The rice and hummus in my wife's lamb/beef dinner plate? Tasted like bland paste. The kofta kebab sandwich was just the gyro meat chopped up more finely, didn't taste like a proper kofta. I see other recent reviews that also mention bland food. Really hope these folks get their act together but not sure we are going to chance it again

Yelp
I've been Yelped! Perfect example in being misled by Yelp - 4.5 star review and one dollar sign? This was an expensive mistake - $45 two person lunch, w/a can of coke. It's a small outlet with wobbly tables and a greasy floor. Not that I care, I just wanted a great schwarma. Instead we both got a very simply, mostly lettuce filled tortilla with some chicken - guessing 4 oz tops. Since the "value meal" included, "fries, rice, or salad," I asked for the tabbouleh and was charged an additional $5 (isn't tabbouleh salad?). Food was edible, extremely bland. In addition, one bottle of ketchup, and no napkins graced the tables. When the cooks seemed busy, my daughter had to retrieve paper towels from the bathroom. I'll give them an extra star as they brought the food to our table. Funny, there was a Subway around the corner which would have been sooo much better.

Dalena H.

Yelp
Sad to give it such a low rating. It's been a few years since I've had this place. I got a gyro salad which was generously packed. The whole dish did not taste like mediterranean food at all. The lamb gyro meat was not seasoned well. Thle hummus did not taste like hummus. I eat fast and it took me a while to finish. My sister got a chicken hummus dish and she felt the same. She didn't even finish her meal.

Elaina G.

Yelp
Humble no frills restaurant with friendly employees and amazing food. We were impressed by the portion sizes and freshness. We will absolutely be coming here regularly.

Alex V.

Yelp
Ordered the beef lamb plate and gyro fries on Uber eats this evening. I'm always skeptical how the food will be when ordering from Uber eats but the food was still hot and delicious! The beef lamb combo was tender and flavorful. The portion was large that I have enough for lunch tomorrow. I also enjoyed the salad, hummus, and pita. Will definitely order again without hesitation.

Yelp
I came here on a Sunday afternoon because the nearby Mexican place was full.. I am going to say this place is average at best. I ordered the dinner plate which consisted of lamb-beef gyro meat, baba ganoush (eggplant), salad, and pita bread. The rice, although very pretty with many specks of warm colors, was bland and unexciting. The sald was iceberg lettuce and some vegetables. Bland if not for the feta cheese. I am not even sure if there was any salad dressing. The lamb meat was okay. Not salty. The eggplant was also bland but I did love the olive that was on it. My husband ordered the snack gyro plate which was three different types of meat in different sections of the gyro wrap. It came with fries and salad. The wraps are better than the dinner plate in my opinion because it didn't have bland rice. Fries were okay. They were a bit limp even with not much sauce on them. The service was fine. The server seemed cheerful and nice. Would I visit again? No, I think there are better gyro restaurants in seattle. Overall, this place is not bad. It is just okay.

Yelp
We live in Seattle but love going to Burien to meet our Tacoma fam. Nice mid-way point and lots of great eats. We've now added Snack Gyro to our list because the food was chock full of the good stuff. Spices, herbs, a little love sprinkled in. I had a falafel wrap and my boo had chicken. We shared the Greek fries which were done right sexy. Prices are reasonable and service is prompt. We noticed lots of delivery drivers and other working folks were stopping by, they know the secret. Limited outdoor seating but lots inside.

Esther L.

Yelp
Got the falafel and hummus platter and dinner special. The falafel was yummy and not dry at all, but the hummus was a bit bland and didn't have much flavor besides the hot sauce in the corner. The pita bread that came with it was nice and soft. The dinner special lamb and beef was juicy and flavorful.

Jason B.

Yelp
I was a disappointed after seeing photos on here and going in with high expectations, the food was mediocre the fry's aren't the thick cut like I've seen in previous reviews they're very thin the shawarma looked nothing like what I've seen in a previous post the flavor was very plain, the annoying thing was the cook didn't put any effort in my shawarma literally was already coming apart before I can even get a grip of it. The staff was pretty friendly so I'll give them that but overall. I will post a previous review photo vs what I got as a comparison.

Betsy E.

Yelp
My go to spot for falafel, this is a local treasure. I don't eat meat so haven't been able to sample most of the menu (though I hear it's great). I generally do takeout as the ambiance is a bit lackluster (it's fast food) though they do offer tables for sitting.

Jeri V.

Yelp
I'd give them 3.5 stars to be fair. Two issues I had with my first visit there: I ordered the "Dinner Special" at $16.80. First, the bland salad (iceberg lettuce) had no dressing whatsoever. The basmati rice and lamb & beef (gyros) were very good, but a bit dry. I asked for some yogurt sauce and got a lukewarm response and a tiny plastic container of sauce, not enough for the salad let alone the rice and meat. The hummus was okay (Trader Joes's is better) and the pita was warm and fluffy, very good. Second, I ordered the Tabbouleh salad as a side dish. I was surprised to be charged $10.99 for such a small plastic container. So, a little disappointed. Gyro Heroes on Admiral is much better.

Mercedes L.

Yelp
Delicious falafel! Stopped based off good yelp reviews. Very quick and nice service. Good menu selection and I liked the food presentation. Worth a try.

Ashley L.

Yelp
Cravings satisfied! This Gyro shop is serving up some of the best moroccan, Mediterranean, Greek fare in the area. I was very impressed by the how quick my order was prepared, how friendly the staff was, and the amount of food you get on each entree. My favorite items were the shawarma plate and Greek fries. I could eat these Greek fries everyday because of the delicious garlic sauce on them.

Lyna N.

Yelp
I ordered takeout to have dinner and catch up at a friend's house and was disappointed. I was thinking it would be pretty good because of all the great reviews. We both ordered plates - I got the mixed plate that came with a chicken, beef, and lamb skewer. The meats were tough and plain - perhaps over cooked? The best one was the lamb out of the 3. Adding salt helped a bit. The pita was hard like cardboard.

Ericka L.

Yelp
We've been going here for years for takeout gyros and it is always fantastic. Fries are good also. The meat and veggies are fresh and always enough. Delicious and I highly recommend them

Kelly W.

Yelp
I adore snack gyro, I have probably eaten here a dozen times. The Greek fries are amazing, and filling enough for a small meal. I like the falafel sandwich and my husband usually enjoys the lamb gyro. If you are in Burien swing by snack gyro!

Denise S.

Yelp
We have become big fans of Snack Gyro! The go-to items are the "sandwiches" that are flatbread gyros. Overflowing with toppings and sauce to the point of starting with a fork and then going in with your mitts to polish it off. The Regular size is perfect for one person, so I haven't had to get a larger size, but they offer one! I'm a huge fan of foul ('fool'... cooked and partly smashed fava beans) and theirs can have it's own sandwich! The big winner for me is the Vegan option because it comes with Falafel, roasted/fries cauliflower, and a fantastic tahini sauce. There's no foul on this one, but that would be over the top... Delicious, but over kill. A friend of mine only gets the #12. It's a shwarma chicken wrap that's reminiscent of a grilled burrito. I was able to get it done with the innards of the Vegan sandwich and it was beyond all expectations. Unsure if that's something they'll do regularly or if it was a special one off, but I hope to do that again.

Tony B.

Yelp
I had the falafel sandwich and it was excellent. They also had an "Excellent" food safety rating. This place is really little more than a take out counter where you order. You can then choose to sit inside without air conditioning or at one of three tables outside and they will being you your order. I think next time I will just take it to go.

Areeb Q.

Yelp
The wraps we got were pretty good. We got the chicken, and 2 beef I believe it was. They came with fries which were some of the best fresh hand made fries I have ever had. The food did take a while though, and we waiting almost 20 minutes for 3 wraps. Only other problem was the ants on the restaurant floor, however, other than that the food and experience was great.

Alexia R.

Yelp
Always reliable for good food, made quickly. Can't go wrong with snack Gyro!

Frances N.

Yelp
Ordered a chicken gyro hummus mixed platter for my first time here & it was so freaken good! The chicken was so flavorful and moist! Hummus was soooo good and I loved how the food still tasted amazing and fresh when I came in late at night (after 8pm) I forgot to take a picture of the 2 pita bread that came with the order but wow! I was so happy to find out that it actually came full sized and not cut in half or quarters like other places in Seattle!!! So happy I found a new gyro place that's good and affordable! Definitely worth trying and I will definitely come back!

Noelle K.

Yelp
Ordered a gyro salad to go with a side of tzatziki and pita. Flavor wise, it wasn't terrible but it's also not the best I have had. It was different than described on the menu. The Gyro Salad: Pros- decent amount of gyro meat which had a nice spice to it with a little heat. Lots of feta and garlic house dressing (different than Tzatziki) Cons - the menu specified that there was also chicken breast but my order didn't have any on it. Unless the gyro meat was a lamb and chicken blend rather than lamb and beef? There was also added pickles and green bell peppers which I found odd. I saw another review that mentioned a similar situation. Lastly, the lettuce was iceberg which made everything a little watery Pita and side of Tzatziki: $0.99 for a side of tzatziki. The container was small and only halfway full. The pita also lacked any flavor and was pretty dry. I honestly think they just took it straight out of the bag it came in and put it in my order. Overall, I would not come here again. They have a couple good things going for them but the cons outweigh the positive by a landslide. If you're looking for a gyro that is consistently good, hit up the Greek House. It's just around the corner

james e.

Yelp
Great gyro just like you want it. Kind service. Filling. Nice tables inside. Try it out

Kate B.

Yelp
This was a pick up order and it was ready when I arrived, hot and fresh. Had a gyro combo with seasoned fries and both were delicious and favors and seasoning were great. Will go there again!

Jailian W.

Yelp
After a long flight and arriving in the afternoon, I needed some food in my belly. Fell upon this location and saw the gyro salad a hot seller. Thought it wasn't going to fulfill my needs so I got the gyro fries too. The salad was not a disappointment! On the other hand, the fries for the gyro fries needed more crispness or flavor. Something was missing. It's a cute little shop. The guy in charge was nice and even accommodated a customer (who seemed a bit rude to me) about having ordered fries with his meal. I'd hit it up again and maybe try a falafel next time!

Kellan K.

Yelp
I ordered a shawarma and a mazzat veggie plate but asked if they put dates in any of the dishes as they are visible in a case by the register. They are just for sale I believe but he offered me some for free and I obligingly took two. Then when our order came there was an additional package. A box full of dates! The food is amazing but their hospitality is something else.

Christopher P.

Yelp
This our go-to for gyros, falafel, and shawarma. One member of our household recently went vegetarian and another doesn't eat red meat. It's a rare place that can cater to everybody's tastes. The food is tangy, flavorful and ingredient rich - unlike a lot of mediocre Mediterranean places. The guys that run the shop are kind and accommodating. It's a great place to stop and pickup lunch on the way to the park or another adventure.

Oriana B.

Yelp
Stopped by today for a falafel sandwich & lamb gyro... so delicious!! Service was great. I'll absolutely be back!

Brittany T.

Yelp
WOW I just found my new favorite Mediterranean casual spot!! The flavors are DELICIOUS and a huge portion for the price! The staff is so kind and happy to serve you too. So glad I spontaneously popped in here and grabbed myself dinner. I'll definitely be back to try more! Absolutely loved the beef & lamb gyro sandwich!!

Elijah A.

Yelp
I got the dinner special and it was amazing. Not greasy, and the seasoning was just right. We came in late and the restaurant was closed, but the guy in the register welcomed us in and took our order anyways.

Carla J.

Yelp
Hungry for a snack, I saw the open sign and came to check it out.... The spot is clean and I was warmly welcomed.. I loved my sandwich! It was perfect!! Loaded with meat and fresh crisp vegetables... perfect amount of sauce... I will be back!

Berto G.

Yelp
Seven years ago I raved about this place. Now it reeks of a business that no one cares about, least of all the people preparing the food. More often than not, we pass it up for even fast food. It's sad because Burien could use a decent gyro. I guess we can keep waiting.

Tram A.

Yelp
The food was good but the wait was terrible. We came on a Wednesday around 5:45pm. Not a lot of people were in the restaurant but was told that the wait would be around 20 minutes. We said ok and turned out the wait was over 30 minutes to make two orders. Although we enjoyed the food, the wait was quite unacceptable. This place focused more on delivery and take out orders, yet they were not quite efficient. The two staff were nice. The place was clean and organized. The location is convenient with plenty of street parking nearby! I actually got the lunch snack special from them before but it was not memorable. This time, we got number 25 and the gyro sandwich, which actually got my attention! Will come back but will call ahead if possible!

Jason D.

Yelp
Some friends and I stayed in the area and decided to try this out. Great environment and really good food! Service was solid and they gave good recommendations on what to try.

Todd P.

Yelp
Fast, fresh tasting, and never really need to wait very long for your order to come out. I have never eaten at the business, but have also gotten to go orders. Their fries are always cooked just right and seasoned very well.

Myranda M.

Yelp
Delicious and great prices. I love this place and it's close to my house. Fresh ingredients that make you want to keep coming back for more. I love the gyros and dinner plates. They give you a lot of food for the price. I ordered the chicken dinner last night and was pleasantly surprised at the portions.

Iris C.

Yelp
This is my favorite gyro place! The food is fresh and tastes amazing. There's a special spice they use that makes the gyro taste even better. I believe they use authentic Moroccan spices! They also offer Turkish coffee served in the traditional dzezva (pot), as well as halva, baklava.. I've read their menu and they offer a variety of vegetarian and vegan options too! The people working there are pleasant, hard working and fast. The place is clean and has a pleasant atmosphere. I highly recommend this place and will keep going back.

Jasmine R.

Yelp
Recent find and it's a keeper! I had the gyro salad and it was out of the world! The meat was extremely flavorful! Next time, I'll have the salad dressing on the side! Highly recommend this place!

Casandra C.

Yelp
Terrible food. Yak gyro is more like it. We ordered the falafel and hummus plate and the hummus looked ancient and tasted like it was 3 months old. I've never had anything like it and I love hummus. We also got the shawarma plate and the lamb was flavorless and old. It's been a long time since I've had a meal that bad. I think i might vomit. Im genuinely worried about food poisoning. I don't know how it has so many good reviews.

A C.

Yelp
Yum!!! Sooo soooo Good! Sometimes gyros can be boring but this place does it just right. I had the lamb and beef gyro and it was bursting with flavor goodness. They also have the BEST fries. Super nice people and great customer service as well. Will definitely be adding this place into my takeout rotation.

Mandy C.

Yelp
Came here on Memorial Day after getting off the plane because both Burien Fish House and Ohana Kitchen were closed and we were hungry. Very small shop with some street parking in the front- same person works the register and cooks the food. There were a lot of flies inside which was a little of a turn off. It seems like it is a hit with locals as plenty of people got food to go while we were here. We had the beef lamb gyro plate and kids meals which were tasty. Portion sizes are good. The fries were good. It does have indoor seating and some tables out in front too.

Chester M.

Yelp
Gyro Plate at Snack Gyro in Burien is always a good choice. Their other do not disappoint as well. #foodandbbq #gyro #snackgyro #gyroplate

Samantha C.

Yelp
They left a bad taste in m mouth, literally. I ordered their rice and they used whole cloves which numbed the heck out of my mouth. It was the worst eating experience in my life. I called and notified them of this mistake. It was very unpleasant. Basically vomited. Beware.

Melissa L.

Yelp
I hate to write a negative review because I do love their gyros. But too many times I've ordered on uber eats and my order comes with items missing or my order is incorrect. Wish they would pay better attention to any special request like no onions. And when I pay to have extra sauce and they forget it.

Humaira K.

Yelp
Was passing by and we were hungry so we stopped inside . Food was fresh ,fast and clean service inside the restaurant . Super friendly and was able to bring the kids .

Marah H.

Yelp
This place is spectacular! Today I was craving something tasty, but I had no idea what I wanted to eat. I found this place on yelp and the reviews seemed pretty good so I figured I would give it a try. Man, those reviews did not let me down! I ordered the beef and lamb gyro combo which comes with fries or salad as a side and a drink. I got the salad as a side and I loved it so much. Now for the best part... the gyro! This thing was packed with flavor and the meat was crazy tender and juicy. It's only been 3 hours and I'm already craving another one... fingers crossed there's a support group for this! I seriously cannot wait to go back and try something else on the menu!! Do yourself a favor and give this place a try. Also the barbershop next door is pretty rad too

Hamed M.

Yelp
The lamb and beef shawarma is amazing. Perfectly seasoned and a big portion. Mohammad was very kind and his food is amazing! Will absolutely come back here the next time I visit the area.

Jill K.

Yelp
I'm so glad to have found a gyro shop on this side of seattle. They have the best falafel I've had and the gyro sandwich is one of the better ones ive had in seattle, tasty with lots of meat. We've definitely found our favorite gyro stop!!

Hermeto P.

Yelp
I don't enjoy writing poor reviews for small independent businesses. However, I felt misled by the many 5 star reviews here on yelp. I suspect the majority were written by folks who do not know what good middle eastern food is. We do not have much of it in Washington. The bar is rather low here. I lived in an an area with the largest Middle eastern population in the USA for a long time and know this cuisine. I ordered a gyro, foul sandwich, and baba gannosh. The gyro meat is standard gyro meat that can be found in any mall-based, sports-stadium based, or airport based gyro shop; in other words; lowest acceptable quality. The pita was the same; mass produced. You can get the same boring pita yourself at any mid-tier grocery store. The veggies and tzatziki the same. I make tzatziki myself at home fresh using greek yogurt, cucumber, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice...I know what it should taste like. Though I ordered baba ghanoush, I was given hummus. It was extremely bland. I did not eat it all. Bland hummus is actually somewhat difficult to make. The foul was acceptable but not beyond average. If your business name contains the word "Gyro," I think it fair to assume your Gyros should be top-notch. Their other items may be excellent, but so should their namesake dish.
